It's pointless... Don't you know? Because that's the way death works. Wandering the world of the living unnoticed as a spirit, that isn't a continuation of life. When you die, that's it... There's nothing more... Nothing new begins. No matter how much you regret or wish, if you couldn't do something in life, you can't suddenly do it when you die. That's just how it works, no way to defy it, try and you end up like this. We no longer have a future to fight for.

Reiko had not heard from her son since he had left for his date yesterday, at first she had not worried but the more she thought about it the more she had a sinking feeling in her gut. She had known about the girl he was with and her very nature, though the face escaped her the feeling of an angel was not something that she could dismiss. She had heard that humans then turned out to be Scared Gear users, but she had a good reason that no one would go after her little boy with how infamous she and her family were, yet if someone was willing to try she would have done what was necessary even make herself the church's weapon or enemy again.

It was now late morning and she had gotten a concerning call from Issei's school and he had not shown up for his homeroom forcing her to lie in his stead, she did not want to face whatever truth that this was just yet. Her husband, although not human, had disappeared for several days before she found out that he was killed. A very possible reality here, especially now that she was not able to reach him. Taking a day off of work she found herself stalking around, trying his phone every couple of minutes to half-hour in hopes that he was just fine, but every single call every single message that she sent was met with his voicemail or not being able to get through. Around lunchtime, however, she got a knock at her door, and to confirm that the person at her door was not human she had readied herself by clutching at her bracelet around her left wrist with nervous excitement. She then opened the front door to find Serafall Beelzebub with a cell phone in her hands patiently awaiting the door staring off into space, a magic circle in each of her pale blue eyes.

When Reiko opened the door Serafall deactivated The Eyes of God and peered over to the distorted mother and offered her a smile. "Hello Desideria, it has been some time since we have seen each other," Serafall said calmly.

"It's Reiko, and you know that Serafall." Reiko said with a tight grip on a tag attached to her bracelet. "What do you want? I am not in the mood for your games."

Serafall giggled and thrust the smartphone into Reiko's ample chest. Reiko took it from her, recognizing it to be Issei's, her worry over her son's whereabouts turned into anger. The tag that she was holding on to for dear life snapped off with a forceful tug breaking her bracelet. The tag transformed into a longsword, but not any sword, tag became the sword Excalibur. She leveled the gold and silver holy sword with the Devil's head. "Where's my son daemon?" Her tone was cold and distant, but her face seemed to be fighting off something threatening to break the dam that she had built.

Her visitor seeing this Serafall raised her hands in mock surrender. "What are you talking about Desideria, it's a school day he should be at school. You of all people should know that I wouldn't hurt a hair on that boy's head. In fact, I would not do anything that he did not want me to do." She spoke slowly and calmly.

"Then why are you here Beelzebub? Why present me with this, if not to torment me with another love lost." The dam she kept at bay threatened to burst. "Tell me." She began with a shaky sword and equally mobile breath. "If not that then what?" she finished, the thought of Issei's death coming into the forefront of her mind.

Serafall grabbed the blade and lowered it to not much resistance on Reiko's part. "Desideria, I know of your love for Issei, and I have seen the length that you would go for him. But believe me when I say... I just wanted to return this phone to him, and to ask you for your blessing."

Reiko was confused. "My blessing in what exactly?"

Serafall had played through these scenes several times before, so much so that the schoolgirl nerves that she had felt many times before were a distant memory as if they had happened before. She knew the best course of action through the trial and error that were her eyes. She took a deep breath and spoke about what was on her mind. She produced the invitation to the engagement party that Riser was throwing, presenting it to Reiko. "I would like for Issei to be my date for this."

Examining the card Reiko looked at the pleading look given to her but the very idea seemed wrong, Serafall this Serafall seemed different from the one she knew in the past. "And why should I allow that?"

"Because you had your chance at peace, no matter how fleeting it got you always found it in the end. Why can't I be afforded such a thing? Even if it is just half the time you had. Haven't I earned the right?"

Issei was taking a shortcut home through the local park when he bumped into someone running in the opposite direction. This person was a young blonde girl around his age. She squealed when she hit the ground, when Issei went to apologize and help her up he froze in his tracks. The girl was lying on her stomach and her dress was pulled up revealing her white underwear while trying to get up.

'...'

"Why did I trip?" the girl said in a meek voice sitting up before noticing Issei. When their eyes met Issei had a look of recognition but quickly buried it, taking one of concern.

"Are you ok?" Issei ran up to her offering a hand. Looking at her she was wearing the black and white Tonic and Scapular of a nun that he remembered her often wearing but in a different color.

Taking his hand she thanked him, fixing her veil. "Thank you very much."

"Oh, you're welcome." Issei chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. 'I've got to keep this conversation going. To think I would run into her just like that.' He thought to himself. "Uh... The weather is really nice today and..."

"Um, I... I got lost and need help." The nun said in embarrassment, getting Issei's attention from his unseen internal struggle.

"Yeah... Yeah sure." Issei responded.

The two start walking when Issei decides to strike up a conversation. "So are you on a trip?" He asked the nun.

"Oh, no. I was appointed to a nearby church. I am glad I met such a nice person like you. It must be divine guidance. " She answered. Issei let out a nervous laugh but didn't say anything and looked away, the act confusing her. "What's the matter?" The nun asked with a hint of concern.

"Well, nothing."

A crying child could be heard in the distance and the nun took off towards the sound with Issei running after her. They came to a small playground where a small boy was seated on the ground with a scraped knee and crying. "Don't cry; it's just a scrape. You are a boy after all." she began petting his hair. A green light glowed from her hands when she brought them to the boy's injury. Unbeknownst to both teens, their eyes turned blue for a brief second.

"Look! Your wound is gone." She said comforting the boy. "It's all right now." A smile was clear on her face. Noticing Issei staring, she addressed him. "Sorry, force of habit." she said, sticking her tongue out.

"I must have surprised you."

"Oh, you have a pretty amazing power."

"It's a wonderful power granted by god." For some reason, Issei's stomach churned when she said that. "A truly wonderful power." Her face took a dark look to it. They continued their walk in silence for several minutes before the nun noticed the church at the top of the hill they were climbing. "Oh, that must be the place." She turned to Issei, her mood returning.

"Oh, yeah, it's the only church we have in town."

"Great! Thank you so much!" She exclaimed. Cupping Issei's hands she looked up at him expectantly. "I would like to return the favor. Do you mind accompanying me?"

"I'm sorry, but I have to get home so I can't." Issei said in a panicked voice.

The nun looked visibly upset which caused Issei pain but she quickly recovered. "I see. Well, my name is Asia Argento. Please call me Asia."

"My name is Hyoudou Issei, you can call me Issei."

"I'm so happy to have met someone as kind as you this quickly after arriving in japan!" Her smile returned. "Please visit the church when you find the time. Promise me!"

Issei returned the smile and answered. "When I do I will be sure too. I promise."

Asia waved him off before grabbing her belongings, turning around, and heading in the opposite direction away from Issei and the church with an ear-to-ear grin. "He is just as I remember, I am glad I finally got to meet him, Asia."
