"You know what? I'm going to come down, it's not as much fun this way." The voice said before all of a sudden a beautiful girl appeared in front of them out of nowhere.
"Hi I'm Lucy Carter. It's so nice to see you all. This is like a dream come true." Lucy squealed happily before she looked around wondering where to sit.
"You can sit next to me darling," Kol said with a smirk at her and she beamed happily as she bounded off over to his seat and sat next to him.
"Ok let's play." She said as the room darkened around them and the screen lit up.
Stefan's voice was then heard, "For over a century, I have lived in secret; hiding in the shadows, alone in the world. Until now. I am a vampire. And this is my story."
"That sounds so dramatic even if it's true," Caroline said and the others were in agreement.
"I don't even remember saying that," Stefan said confused.
"That was your actor actually, they had to introduce the story somehow," Lucy said.
"It's weird to think that in your world, we are only actors, just normal human beings," Rebekah said wistfully.
"Each of you are completely different in my world, for example, Damie's actor, Ian Somerhalder is actually married and has a kid." Lucy gave an example.
"What!?" Nearly all of them shouted completely shocked whilst Damon just looked wide-eyed.
"Yup. I told you, you guys are very different compared to the actors that played you. Between all of you, my favourite character is Damie obviously but between all your actors my favorite is Paul Wesley." Lucy said and Kol pouted from next to her so she reached out and patted his thigh and said, "Don't pout, I still love your character, I legit cried when I saw you die, it was heartbreaking...uh...shit, what nickname should I give you? Kolly, Kolly bear, Ko Ko, Koala..."
Kol was getting more horrified by the second whilst the others started laughing at him and he quickly said, "Just Kol is fine darling."
"No! You need to have a nickname! It won't be fair!" Lucy whined before she thought for a while and said, "What about Chaos? No, that won't work, what about K?"
"Sure," Kol said relaxing now that she wasn't going to call him something ridiculous and borderline embarrassing.
"Wonderful," Lucy said clapping her hands together excitedly and he raised an eyebrow at her.
"How old are you?" He asked.
"17." She answered.
"Ok, back to what you were talking about before, who exactly is Paul Wesley?" Elijah asked curiously.
"Steffie's actor. He's hilarious, his humor is just the best." Lucy responded.
"Why are you giving everyone nicknames?" Tyler asked curiously.
"Well Wolf Boy, I kind of have a habit of giving a nickname to those I like," Lucy said sheepishly.
"Oh." Tyler said and they all realized that amongst all of them, only Elena didn't get a nickname.
"You don't like me?" Elena asked confused, what on earth did she do?
"God no. Your actor, Nina Dobrev, her I do like, you, on the other hand, are just an entitled little bitch that I couldn't care less about," Lucy said bluntly.
"What the hell did I do?" Elena asked angrily.
"You're a petty, two-faced bitch who thinks the world revolves around her, well guess what honey, it doesn't. You're no different than the rest, they all have lives too, they feel, they get hurt and they love just as much as anyone else, and just because you don't have a perfect life, that doesn't mean they should throw away theirs trying to give you that, because it doesn't exist. No one has a perfect life, none of your friends do but they deal with it, they get through it because they're strong. You are weak, you are so reliant on them that at the smallest sign of trouble you go running their way. Don't even get me started on what you've put them all through, Bon Bon especially so yeah I pretty much hate your character, I prefer Kat over you, she's a survivor. She has made some pretty shitty decisions, I'll be the first one to admit that but unlike you, she accepts it. A bitch that accepts they're a bitch is a much better person than a bitch who doesn't and instead hides behind an innocent facade that we all know is just as fake as your feelings for the Salvatore brothers. So why not for the first time in your blasted life, you do the right thing and let them both go, because they both deserve better than someone like you. You are not only hurting the both of them, but you are also ruining their relationship with each other, you are stringing them both along which is the sickest thing you could do especially when they're brothers. It's nauseating and you may think you are different from Kat and you know what, you're right, you are different because you're worse." Lucy snapped in her anger, she felt so much better letting all the anger out that she's harbored for the girl when she watched the show, she felt so much lighter as she took a few deep breaths to calm herself down.
"That was hot." Kol interrupted the silence that was left after her speech.
"Uh...thanks but eww! I am 1 and you are...God knows what age." Lucy said.
"I'm 18 darling," Kol said smirking at her but she just raised an eyebrow at him.
"You mean you turned when you were 18 so according to vampire years, you are around a thousand years or old, more or less," Lucy said as she thought about it, math was not her strong suit.
"That I am darling," Kol said.
"Ok shouldn't we carry on watching, we have to go back quickly or my mom will be worried," Caroline said concerned.
"Don't worry yourself with that, whilst we are here, everything in your world is on pause so when you go back it will be like nothing happened," Lucy said and they all sighed in relief. "Anyway, let's carry on," She then played the paused screen.
[Darren and Brooke are driving in their car through the woods.]
Darren: An hour's drive to hear that crap. You know, it wasn't even a band. A guy with a guitar. An hour each way.
Brooke: He wasn't that bad.
Darren: He sounded like James : What's wrong with that?
Darren: We already have a James Blunt. One's all we need.
Brooke: So why did you come?
Darren: Because I love you.
"Aww! How sweet." Caroline said to the cute couple.
"For once I agree with you. They are cute." Rebekah said whilst the men in the room rolled their eyes at them.
Brooke: Nicely done. What's with all the fog?
Darren: It'll clear in a : Watch out!
[They run over a man.]
"Oh my God!" Bonnie said shocked at the sudden action, she had not expected that.
Darren: Are you okay?
Brooke: We just hit someone! Oh my god!
Darren: Call for help.
Brooke: Come on, come on!
Darren: Please be alive! Oh, my god.
[The man wakes up and bites him in the neck.]
"Who was...that was you Damon wasn't it?" Caroline asked angrily.
"Why are you asking a question you already know the answer to Blondie?" Damon asked with a smirk on his face that had her glaring at him, she was still pissed off with him for being responsible for Tyler's death in the future.
"They were a nice couple, Damon. You shouldn't have done that." Elena said sighing in disappointment.
"There are a lot of things I shouldn't have done Elena and loving you might be one of them, clearly it's a problem for you isn't it?" Damon said mockingly using the same words she had said all that time ago, not even bothering to look at her, he was admittedly still hurt by what had happened before they were brought here and the girl's words were also playing around in his mind. Was she actually playing them? No, she wasn't like that, right?
"Damon I apologized for saying that," Elena said surprised he would bring it up again and hurt that he thought loving her was something he shouldn't have done.
"Doesn't make it any less true though does it?" Damon asked and her silence gave him the answer.
"Damon that's not what I..." Elena began to say after a moment.
"Save it Elena. I said I wasn't going to make it easy for you anymore, you'll have to figure it out yourself." Damon said annoyed before a glass of bourbon was held in front of him by Alaric and he immediately snatched it from his hand and drained it in one gulp. He placed it on the small table in front of them nodding his head in thanks to Alaric who smiled at his best friend before they both turned back to the screen.
Brooke: There's no signal! Darren! Darren?
[Brooke runs and gets dragged up into the sky.]
"Seriously Damon?" Alaric asked shaking his head at that. "Bit dramatic don't you think?"
"Oh come on Ric. You've been surrounded by vampires long enough to know how much we love the thrill of the chase and the fear that comes with it." Damon said with a smirk on his face and Alaric hit his arm rolling his eyes at his best friend.
[Stefan is on the roof.]
Stefan: I shouldn't have come home. I know the risk. But I had no choice. I have to know her.
[Jumps off the roof]
"You're obviously talking about Elena," Bonnie asked knowingly.
"Yeah and you sound creepy," Caroline said.
"You're giving borderline stalkerish vibes Stefan," Damon said mockingly, but it was clear from the way he looked at his brother that he still wasn't over with what he had heard before, about Stefan's potential death.
"Oh shut it," Stefan said rolling his eyes at his brother.
[Elena is writing in her diary.]
Elena: Dear diary, today will be different. It has to be. I will smile, and it will be believable. My smile will say "I'm fine, thank you." "Yes, I feel much better." I will no longer be the sad little girl who lost her parents. I will start fresh, be someone new. It's the only way I'll make it through.
"Again, what's with everyone being dramatic?" Rebekah said and Elena glared at her.
[In the kitchen.]
Jenna: Toast. I can make toast.
Seeing her again brought tears to both the Gilbert siblings' eyes as their friends either turned towards them concerned or glared at Klaus angrily, who just sat here unbothered.
"OK, I must say that this is one of the times when I really didn't like you Nikky but at least you redeemed yourself later on," Lucy said truthfully, she had been really sad when Jenna died, she hadn't deserved to die like that, it wasn't fair.
"And I should care why exactly?" Klaus snapped at the girl.
"Careful with the tone Nikky, I may like you but I control everything in this room, you really don't want to end up stuck to the chair like Elena do you?" Lucy threatened sweetly, Klaus glared at her before he calmed himself down.
Jeremy felt someone squeeze his shoulder in comfort, and he looked up to see Tyler with concerned eyes on his form and Matt next to him with worry written all over his face so he smiled nodding his head to show that he was ok even though he was anything but.
Tyler nodded at the kid before retracting his hand, he didn't know what made him do that but when he saw the tears in the kid's eyes, he had to do something.
"Aww, it's okay Jerbear. I'm sorry for making you upset, I kind of have no choice in the matter, so why don't you wipe those tears, you're making me upset." Lucy said sadly.
"Uh...sorry?" Jeremy said unsurely as he wiped his eyes.
"Oh don't apologize, it's ok sweetie. Everything will be ok I promise." Lucy said sweetly.
"Seems like someone actually likes you Little Gilbert." Damon snorted at what she had called him.
"Shut up Damon," Jeremy grumbled embarrassed.
"Oy! You may be my favorite character Damie but don't insult my baby," Lucy said sternly.
"Damon's your favorite character? Are you serious?" Caroline said shocked as Damon smirked and the others grumbled annoyed.
"Why him? I am so much better." Kol whined from next to her.
"K you're perfect and I love you and all, but I'm sorry, no one competes with Damon Salvatore," Lucy said honestly.
"You really need to stop before you boost his ego so much, he won't be able to walk through a room with how swollen his head will be," Alaric said with a smirk on his face, Damon glared at him before he hit his arm.
"You can't blame me. He's such a sweetheart when he wants to be, and I mean, just look at that hot bod and those gorgeous blue eyes and that...ok, I'm getting a bit carried away here, sorry, let's carry on watching." Lucy said embarrassed not even noticing Kol's annoyed look at her.
"No don't stop, do carry on. I would love to hear more Lucy." Damon said as he turned around to smirk at her.
"OMG! You said my name!" Lucy squealed before coughing in embarrassment as she played the memory whilst Damon just laughed.
Elena: It's all about the coffee, Aunt Jenna.
Jeremy: Is there coffee?
Jenna: Your first day of school and I'm totally unprepared. Lunch money?
Elena: I'm good.
Jenna: Anything else? A number two pencil? What am I missing?
Elena: Don't you have a big presentation today?
Jenna: I'm meeting with my thesis advisor at...now. Crap!
"She always was like that, so forgetful all the time, sometimes it felt like we were taking care of her instead of the other way round but we loved her all the same." Jeremy reminisced sadly.
"Yeah." Elena said with a frown on her face as she remembered the good moments they had together before it was all taken away by him.
: Then go. We'll be fine. You okay?: Don't start.
[MISSING PERSONS: BROOKE AND DARREN BEHIND ELENA ON TV]
Bonnie's Car
[Elena and Bonnie are driving to school in Bonnie's car.]
Bonnie: So Grams is telling me I'm psychic. Our ancestors were from Salem, witches and all that, I know, crazy, but she's going on and on about it, and I'm like, put this woman in a home already! But then I started thinking, I predicted Obama and I predicted Heath Ledger, and I still think Florida will break off and turn into little resort islands...Elena! Back in the car.
"It's so weird to think that there was a time I never even knew I was a witch," Bonnie said wonderingly, it's become literally a part of her.
"I know right? It's weird hearing you talk about it like that, you were so different back then." Caroline said finding it weird, funny how this wasn't even that long ago.
"We all were," Bonnie responded and the teens in the room looked at each other and only just realized how much they've all changed from the people they used to be, it was going to be weird to see that version of them again.
Elena: I did it again, didn't I? I-I'm sorry, Bonnie. You were telling me that.
Bonnie: That I'm psychic now.
Elena: Right. Okay, then predict something. About me.
Bonnie: I see...
[A crow hits their car.]
Bonnie: What was that?! Oh, my god! Elena, are you okay?
Elena: It's okay. I'm fine.
Bonnie: It was like a bird or something. It came out of nowhere.
Elena: Really, I can't be freaked out by cars for the rest of my life.
Bonnie: I predict this year is going to be kick ass. And I predict all the sad and dark times are over and you are going to be beyond happy.
"Way to jinx it Bonnie," Caroline said remembering everything that happened after that.
"Yikes! I can't believe how far reality actually strayed from my prediction." Bonnie said having forgotten what she had said all that long ago.
"Tell me about it," Elena grumbled.
[A crow is on top of a road sign.]
"Now who's calling who a stalker Damon." Stefan teased.
"Oh shut up Stef," Damon said rolling his eyes but there was a smile on his face.
"Wait that crow was Damon?" Elena asked shocked.
"No, well not entirely. He can compel animals too apparently." Stefan said.
"How is that possible?" Klaus asked shocked.
"No idea," Stefan responded looking at Damon who refused to answer, it was none of their business after all. They didn't need to know the true reason behind his humanity switch being turned off when he came to Mystic Falls, it was a reason he tried his best not to think about, and it was because of that reason he had been able to do what he did, control the fog and compel the crow. He didn't use it anymore because it reminded him too much of her and it hurt too much to think about.
"How can you compel an animal? We've lived for a thousand years and yet we've never heard of something like that." Klaus said curiously.
"I keep my secrets, you keep yours," Damon answered, he refused to let anyone know the reason why.
"So there is a reason," Klaus said smirking at him, he would find out what it is.
"Leave him alone Nikky," Lucy said annoyed, she knew exactly why it was possible for him to control the crow and the fog but it obviously wasn't her place to tell anyone. "Now let's carry on watching."
[Stefan walks inside the school.]
[Inside the school.]
Bonnie: Major lack of male real estate. Look at the shower curtain on Kelly Beech. She looks like a hot — can I still say "tranny mess"?
Elena: No, that's over.
Bonnie: Ahh, find a man, coin a phrase. It's a busy year.
[Elena waves to Matt. He ignores her.]
Elena: He hates me.
"It's honestly a wonder he doesn't Elena, you dumped my poor Cinnamon roll," Lucy said angrily.
"Can you stop getting pissed at me for what happened more than a year ago?" Elena asked annoyed.
"You're such a hypocrite I swear. You scolded Damie for something that happened more than a year ago Elena. Don't dish out what you can't take." Lucy said rolling her eyes at her whilst Elena glared at the girl beginning to get really annoyed with her.
Bonnie: That's not hate. That's "you dumped me, but I'm too cool to show it, but secretly I'm listening to Air Supply's greatest hits."
"Sorry Matt," Bonnie said apologetically, it was weird to have said that when Matt was listening.
"It's alright Bon," Matt said dismissively, he had been a mess after all.
[Caroline approaches them.]
Caroline: Elena. Oh, my god.
[Caroline hugs Elena.]
Caroline: How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you. How is she? Is she good?
"Wow! I had no idea how overbearing I sounded." Caroline said a little shocked.
"Becoming a vampire changed you for the better in my opinion Carebear," Lucy said honestly.
"I think so too," Caroline said nodding her head in agreement.
Elena: Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine. Thank you.
Caroline: Really?
Elena: Yes. Much better.
Caroline: Oh, you poor thing.
[Caroline hugs her again.]
Elena: Okay, Caroline.
Caroline: Oh! Okay, see you guys later?
Bonnie: OK! Bye!
Elena: No comment.
Bonnie: I'm not going to say anything.
"This is really weird. I mean it's hard to even think that I used to be like that." Caroline said actually thankful to have been turned into a vampire.
"I don't mind you either way love," Klaus said and she turned towards him sharply looking at him for a second before shaking her head as she turned back to the screen. Tyler watched their interaction and clenched his fists, he knew there was something going on between them.
[Outside the school.]
Jeremy: Don't take more than two in a six-hour window.
[Vicki takes the pills.]
"Vicki." Jeremy breathed out shocked to see her again after everything that had happened.
"You shouldn't have had a relationship with her Jeremy, let alone been dealing with her. She was older than you and you were a minor, it's actually illegal." Elena said shocked at his actions, she had heard that he used to deal but not in front of her.
"She's dead Elena so can you stop with the misplaced advice, it didn't help then, and it sure as hell is not helping now." Jeremy snapped annoyed before getting up to move behind her next to Tyler. He refused to sit next to her when she was going to lecture him about every single thing his younger self did wrong.
"Jeremy I..." Elena said confused as to why he had moved, she was only trying to help.
"Leave it, Elena." Jeremy sighed exasperatedly before the memory thankfully played.
Tyler: Hey, Vicki. I knew I'd find you here with the crackheads.
Vicki: Hey.
Tyler: Hey, Pete Wentz called. He wants his nail polish back.
Jeremy: Pete Wentz, huh? How old school T.R.L. of you. Carson Daly fan?
Vicky: Oh, Ty, be nice. That's Elena's little brother.
Tyler: I know who he is. I'll still kick his ass.
[Vicky/Tyler kiss]
"I used to be such a d £$." Tyler said a little surprised at hearing how he used to act.
"Not anymore though," Jeremy said.
"Thanks," Tyler said surprised at his response.
[Outside the school office.]
Bonnie: Hold up. Who's this?
Elena: All I see is back.
Bonnie: It's a hot back.
"Oh God! This is embarrassing!" Bonnie said covering her red face.
"It's fine Bonnie." Stefan said smiling at her.
[In the school office.]
Secretary: Your records are incomplete. You're missing immunization records, and we do insist on transcripts.
Stefan: Please look again. I'm sure everything you need is there.
[Stefan compels the secretary.]
Secretary: Well, you're right. So it is.
[Outside the school office.]
Bonnie: I'm sensing Seattle, and he plays the guitar.
"No, but the last part's Damon," Stefan said without thinking before his eyes widened as Damon sent him a sharp glare. "Shit, sorry Damon it just came out."
"It's fine," Damon said with a slightly strained voice, he did not want to talk about it though, the memories surrounding it were too painful to think about. It's one of the reasons he couldn't bring himself to break the guitar when he had trashed his room.
"Wait Damon plays the guitar?" Caroline asked shocked.
"Why do you think there's a guitar in our house, it's not just an antique," Stefan responded, he had come home one day and had heard the strumming of a guitar from Damon's room, he had not expected to see Damon the one playing it so beautifully and the indescribable look in his eyes.
"When did you learn to play the guitar?" Alaric asked surprised.
"None of your God-damned business now would you all just drop it." Damon snapped and they all shut up having not seen him this mad before but there was something else in his eyes, something they couldn't quite understand.
AU: I'm undecided as to whether to leave Kol alone or with Lucy, I want Bonnie to be with Enzo so she's out of the question so he can either be single or with Lucy. Comment what you think down below.
