I do not own the Vampire Diaries
Once everyone left the room besides Caroline, she went up to the girl and said, "Hey Sweetie are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Lucy said but the break in her voice said otherwise.
"Oh come here, sweetie," Caroline said as she hugged her very gently as if she were a fragile doll and that was when Lucy broke down, she's never felt such a comforting hug before. "It'll all be alright I promise. Do you wanna freshen up in the bathroom then you can come back? We'll wait for as long as necessary."
"Yeah, thanks Carebear," Lucy said smiling at her.
"No problem Sweetie," Caroline said being her usual bubbly self.
"Why do you call me that?" Lucy asked her with a smile to show that she didn't mind but was just curious.
"Because you're adorable and a total sweetheart," Caroline answered and Lucy blushed a deep shade of red at that, no one had ever complimented her like that before.
"Oh," Lucy responded before she said goodbye and left the room. Lucy freshened up in the bathroom before making her way back in the room as everyone stopped conversing. She walked to her seat next to Kol not looking at anyone as she did.
"Are you alright darling?" Kol asked gently as he looked at her concerned.
"I'm fine." Lucy responded with a slight smile at him before she said, "Now let's watch," as she played the memory and they all turned back to the screen.
Elena: Great. It's the first day of school and you're stoned.
Jeremy: No, I'm not.
Elena: Where is it? Is it on you?
Jeremy: Stop, all right?! You need to chill yourself, all right?
Elena: Chill myself? What is that, stoner talk? Dude, you are so cool.
Jeremy: Look, stop! I don't have anything on me. Are you crazy?
Elena: You haven't seen crazy, Jeremy! I gave you a summer pass, but I am done watching you destroy yourself. No, no, no, you know what? Go ahead. Keep it up. But just know that I am going to be there to ruin your buzz every time, you got it? Jeremy, I know who you are. And it's not this person. So don't be this person.
Jeremy: I don't need this.
[Jeremy leaves.]
"Woah Elena!" Bonnie said shocked at her practically manhandling Jeremy.
"Yikes, and here I thought I was overbearing," Caroline said as Elena fumed in her seat.
"What would you have done in that situation?" Elena asked annoyed at them for judging her.
"I don't know Elena maybe understand the fact that he's grieving too and that drugs were his outlet instead of acting as if you're his mother and constantly threatening him with guidance counselors because they don't help at all," Lucy said to her and her input had Elena glaring at her angrily.
"I was trying to help him, to get him to stop, but you wouldn't know about that would you or your parents would still be alive and your uncle wouldn't be a drug-addicted abuser." Elena snapped before her eyes widened as she realized what she just said as did everyone else's. Caroline, Bonnie and Matt were in shock that someone they had thought of as a friend had said something so cruel, Tyler and Jeremy exchanged shocked glances with each other, what the hell was Elena thinking they thought? The Mikaelsons stared at her in disgust and absolute outrage, none more so than Kol. The Salvatore brothers stared at Elena and wondered how the sweet girl they had thought her to be could have said something so hurtful and callous. That was certainly not the girl they had fallen in love with.
Right as she said this, her eyes rolled back in her sockets as her world turned black, apparently Lucy had knocked her out, not that they blamed her.
"Really? You only knocked her out? You could have called me and I could have done a lot more to the bitch." A familiar voice said and they all turned towards a rather handsome guy smirking in the doorway.
"Ade!" Lucy squealed happily as she ran over and hugged him, both her arms and legs wrapped around her waist.
"Hey Lu, miss me?" He asked as he held her, his arms wrapped around her petite form. Kol nearly growled at the way she was holding the guy, she was literally pressed up against him and it was beginning to irritate him to no end as he glared at his arms around her waist.
"Hell yeah I did. How's Uni life going for you?" Lucy asked as he set her down, she didn't go to Uni unfortunately since she couldn't afford it. Hr uncle had cut off her inheritance and when she turned 18 and could finally use it without his permission she found the account empty, he had gambled it all away so she had no money, her entire plan of leaving him down the drain, where would she go, if she left, she'd be on the street with no money, food or water, she'd probably die. Despite the beatings she endured, at least she had food, water and shelter, which was a far cry better than living in the streets because who knows what could happen, especially at night so she would choose the beatings over getting taken advantage of any day. Aiden had offered to help but she knew all of his savings were for his own education and she refused to snatch his dream of being an Aeronautical Engineer when she knew how passionate about it he was, just so she could fulfill her own of being a Fashion Designer.
"Stressful but fun, not as fun as your company though, speaking of company, why are we surrounded by people I'm pretty sure are in that TV show you're obsessed with, what was it again, Teen Wolf? Supernatural? Vampire Diaries?" He asked the three but she only nodded at the last one.
"Uh...long story?" Lucy said trying to get out of having to explain to him.
"I have all the time in the world Lu," Aiden said raising an eyebrow as he waited for her to explain.
"Well, about that, uh..." Lucy stuttered over her words as she shifted on the spot.
"And why on earth am I here? I was about to get in my car when a light flashed in front of my eyes and suddenly I'm here, I heard your voice and found this room and heard what that bitch said to you, speaking of, I don't want you to let her words get to you, it was by no means your fault in any way, you understand?" Aiden asked sternly.
"But isn't it? I mean if I had tried harder to get them to stop, then maybe they would still be here and I wouldn't be stuck with my Uncle." Lucy said sadly and the others felt their heart wrench at her words and the sad expression on her face as she hunched her shoulders defeatedly.
"Don't say that Lu. Things like this happen because that's just life, everyone dies sooner or later and it was just their time, it had nothing to do with you, you weren't at fault here so don't blame yourself." Aiden chided her softly.
"You think so?" Lucy asked hopefully and Caroline, Bonnie and Rebekah thought they were sweet whilst Kol just glared at them slouching in his seat annoyed.
"I know so." Aiden said without hesitation before he said, "And as for your uncle, he's a f£$%&! bastard that deserves a fate worse than death, you would be living with me now if that fool hadn't gambled away your inheritance like the cheapskate he is. Speaking of, guess what I found out?" Aiden asked her with a smile. The others were again angry at what her uncle had done, what kind of man would gamble their niece's money, how was she going to afford her life especially considering she didn't have parents?
"What?" Lucy asked curiously.
"You have to guess." Aiden said with a smirk as she pouted.
"I won't be able to, I suck at guessing you know that, so would you please tell me? Pretty pretty purple please with icing and a cherry on top?" Lucy asked hopefully with her puppy dog eyes on full display and they all couldn't help but melt at the look, well except Elena who was still knocked out. Kol was staring at her transfixed at the brightness of her beautiful eyes, a shade of colour he's never seen before, her cute button nose and the cute pout she formed with her cherry rid kissable lips.
"Ugh fine! You just have to pull that face every time." Aiden groaned but he was smiling as he said, "Apparently I have some distant family I just found out about in class, coincidentally we had the same last name. I thought nothing of it since it was fairly common except when he came to me later showing me a picture and asking if that was my dad. It was a pic of my him when he was younger, I was completely confused as to where he had got that from, he had been ecstatic when I had confirmed that it was before introducing himself as my stepbrother. Obviously, I didn't believe him at first but then he dragged me to his home where I only went out of curiosity and his family had showed me enough evidence for me to realize they weren't lying. Apparently, when my Dad was younger, he used to sleep around and had accidentally gotten a girl pregnant, she was from quite a rich family but my father had already left with his family back to his home in NYC after a while and he had never found out about the son he had left behind. They took me in when they realized I was barely scrapping by and now I live with them in their house, there's so many rooms there, it's literally like a mansion." Aiden explained the entire situation.
"OMG! I'm so happy for you!" Lucy squealed happily as she hugged him again.
"There's a reason I told you this Lu," Aiden said as he pulled back from the embrace.
"What reason?" Lucy asked curiously.
"I want you to leave your uncle and come live with me." Aiden blurted out hopefully but she just stared at him her mouth agape in shock.
