[Outside the school office, Bonnie watches Stefan.]

Stefan: Thank you.

Secretary: You're welcome.

[Outside the boy's bathroom.]

Stefan: Uh, pardon me. Um...is this the men's room?

Elena: Yes. Um, I was just, Um—I was just—It's a long story...

[Elena tries to pass. Stefan makes way for her.]

Elena: Thank you.

[In the history class.]

Tanner: Once our home state of Virginia joined confederacy in 1861, it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state. "God I did not miss him at all, not one bit," Tyler said groaning at the sight of him.

"I agree with you there, guy was a total douche," Matt said truthfully.

"Who actually killed him? They had said it was an animal attack but obviously that's a lie so who did it?" Jeremy asked curiously.

"I did," Damon said not an inch of remorse on his face whilst Elena shook her head disappointedly at him.

"He was an innocent man, you shouldn't have killed him Damon." Elena said surprised that she could speak now.

"My humanity was off, I didn't care about his meaningless life and besides, your friends don't seem to care about him." Damon said shrugging his shoulders not at all bothered that he had killed the guy despite her disappointment in him, it wasn't anything new anyways.

"Don't look at Damie like that Elena, it was in the past and besides, if he hadn't died, Ric wouldn't be your history teacher." Lucy defended him.

"She's not wrong," Caroline said shrugging her shoulders, to be honest, she couldn't care less about Tanner, with the number of people they've all lost and the pain they've gone through, there was no point in wasting any of their emotions on Tanner.

[Elena and Stefan exchange looks.]

[Elena looks at Stefan. She then looks back to the front.]

Cemetery

[Elena walks into the cemetery and writes in her diary.]

Elena: Dear diary, I made it through the day. I must have said, "I'm fine, thanks," at least thirty-seven times. And I didn't mean it once. But no one noticed. When someone asks, "How are you?" They really don't want an answer.

"I have to disagree with that statement. When people ask that, they do expect an answer but along the lines of I'm fine, everything's okay and I'm doing better, not, it still hurts, the pain still feel like it happened yesterday or I feel like I'm drowning so they do expect an answer just not the honest one." Lucy explained.

"Like anyone asked for your opinion." Elena mumbled under her breath but considering the silence of the place it was heard by everyone.

"You know whenever I watched some part of the vampire diaries with Lucy when she practically begged me to and me, being a sucker for adorable faces reluctantly agreed, your character pissed me of the most because you give your opinion when nobody asked for it atleast 99% of the time so quit being a hypocrite and keep that mouth of yours shut before I do it for you and that would require having to physically touch you, which I find really disturbing, so I strongly suggest you zip it." Aiden said glaring at her annoyed before gesturing for Lucy to play the memory, which she did with an amused smile on her face, she wasn't the only one, the Mikaelsons were all amused at his words, especially Rebekah considering how much she absolutely despised Elena. She hadn't realised how long her gaze had been on the guy until his eyes met hers, she quickly looked away from him not before she noticed the smirk on his lips.

[A crow appears on her parents grave stone.]

"Seriously Damon?" Stefan asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh shut it Stef. You stalked her longer than I did." Damon said rolling his eyes.

"At least you admit you were stalking her." Alaric said and Damon hit his arm at that, "Ow! Control your damned vampire strength would you? That hurt."

Damon just smirked at him as he said, "As my best friend you are entitled to take my side, not my brother's side, you deserved that."

"At least you admit I'm your best friend." Alaric said with a smirk of his own.

"Shut up Ric." Damon said but there was a smile on his face.

"Aww! You two are so cute. No wonder people ship you two together." Lucy said from behind them causing the two best friends to stare at each other with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, no." Ric said snorting.

"Agreed. Ric's hot and all, but not my type." Damon said shaking his head at the girl.

"Still, you two are adorable, your friendship is lengendary but not as legendary as Damie and Bon Bon's friendship. I totally ship Bamon and Dalaric by the way, I also ship Klaroline, Tyliz, Kolvina, Kelijah before Kat's life got f£$%&! up, Stebekah back in the 1900s, Steroline, Maroline and Tyroline because they were all admittedly cute, Jalaric, Joelaric and Alarith because despite how f£$%&! up everything became Ric truly chose the most sweetest women and they all have one thing in common, none of them ever took Damie's shit." Lucy said and the others laughed at that as Damon rolled his eyes.

"Wait did you say Klaroline? As in Klaus and Caroline?"

"What do you mean by Tyliz? Who's Liz?"

"Kolvina?"

"Steroline? You can't possible mean Stefan and Caroline?"

"Joelaric? Who's Joe?"

Then came the multiple questions as they realised some of the names Lucy had used. "OK shut it! The unfamiliar names you'll find out later and as for Klaroline, yes I meant Nikky and Carebear and yes I also did mean Steffie and Carebear when I said Steroline."

"Why would you ship Klaus and Caroline or even Stefan and Caroline?" Elena said revolted at the thought of Klaus being with her best friend and Caroline and Stefan? Together? Never going to happen, they were complete opposites, where Caroline was loud and immature, Stefan was quiet and polite, there was no way they would ever be together and besides, Stefan loved her, no one else.

"Excuse you. Nikky and Carebear had the best moments on TVD and Steffie and Carebear were so sweet, it's sad how it all ended though." Lucy said sadly.

"I knew they'd never be able to stay together for that long." Elena said with an obvious tone to her voice that Caroline found insulting.

"You're a judgemental bitch Elena. Why it ended isn't because of any problems between them, don't you remember me telling you that Steffie died, well it was on their wedding day, so yes they did stay together long, far longer than you have stayed in any of your relationships, maybe you should just give up and accept that relationships are just not your thing." Lucy snapped at the girl annoyed.

"Stefan died on his wedding day?" Rebekah asked sadly, that must have been horrible for him, to willingly have sacrificed himself for his brother whilst knowing that his wife was waiting for him to come back home to her and what Caroline must have been feeling, it was just so sad.

"Probably shouldn't have told you that, I kind of just spoiled that part but oh well, it's a long way away anyway you all might just forget," Lucy said optimistically.

"Yeah, I doubt it," Damon said under his breath, to hear that his brother had died for him, on his wedding day of all days, just hurt even worse. Why would the idiot be so stupid as to do that he thought as the memory played.

Elena: Okay. Hi, bird. That's not creepy or anything. Shoo!

[The bird flies off.]

Elena: That's what I thought.

Elena blushed in embarrassment at that as the others snorted.

"Yeah I'm pretty sure it didn't fly off because it was scared of you Elena," Rebekah said mockingly as Elena scowled at her in anger.

[The crow reappears and fog starts to ascend around the cemetery. A man is standing behind a tomb. Elena starts to run.]

"Way to be creepy Damon," Jeremy said with a slight laugh in his voice.

"Shut it Little Gilbert." Damon rolled his eyes.

"Oh I loved when you used to call him that, it was so cute, people say that you both act like brothers with the way you annoy each other and yet still protect each other, like that time when Jerbear refused to kill Damie despite the fact that he knew Damie could kill him and when Jerbear got into a car crash and Damie was so concerned for him that he didn't even care about Kat escaping..." Lucy was about to carry on when Aiden cut her off.

"Lu I think you're giving a little too much away," Aiden said with a laugh, she always got carried away when she started rambling.

"Oh, right, sorry guys," Lucy said sheepishly, an expression on her face that Kol found adorable, before internally shaking his head at himself, he couldn't think like that knowing she was going to leave at the end of all this.

"Wait did you say Jeremy got into a car crash?" Elena asked concerned.

"Yup would have died had Damie not made it there in time to feed him his blood," Lucy said seriously.

"Oh my God! What happened?" Caroline asked concerned, having grown up with the kid, it was hard to think about him potentially dying.

"You shall see later people, now let's watch," Lucy said playing the memory.

Elena: Ahh!

[Elena trips and falls. She gets up and sees Stefan.]

Stefan: You okay?

Elena: Were you following me?

Stefan: No, I-a, uh, I-a just — I saw you fall.

Elena: Uh-huh, and you just happened to be hanging out in a cemetery.

"Yikes Elena!" Caroline said, if that had actually been someone visiting someone's grave, that would be so rude.

"Judgemental much?" Rebekah asked with a perfectly shaped raised eyebrow.

"Can you two just stop and leave me alone?" Elena snapped annoyed.

"I'm pretty sure Jerbear was thinking the exact same thing but you didn't lay off him did you?" Lucy asked purely to annoy the bitch.

"I told you to stop interfering, it is none of your business you bitch." Elena said angrily as Aiden and Kol bristled in anger.

"Ok that's it," Kol said enraged as he vamp sped over to her and grabbed her neck but before he could do anything he felt that pressure that stopped him from moving. "Seriously darling?"

"In my defense I don't control that, otherwise I would have probably let you do what you wanted," Lucy said apologetically as he was let go, he pushed Elena's head into the back of the seat roughly before going back to his seat.

"How could you guys not have said anything?" Elena asked them all shocked that none of them had even got up for her.

"Well Lucy said that no one can fight anyone else in this room so..." Jeremy trailed off shrugging his shoulders.

"And you believed that bi..." Elena was about to say before her voice was cut off, she tried to speak but again nothing came out and she glared at the girl for that. Lucy just played the memory as the others turned back to the screen, most of them with slight smiles on their faces at Elena being shot down a few pegs.
