Well, well, well. So much has happened since I last updated, including me not watching CPD anymore and publishing my first book! Any who, I could lie and say I'll get back into the swing of things, but we all know the truth. All mistakes are mine. Hope you enjoy!
"Erin, talk to us. What's going on?" Olivia said when her and Hank finally found her in the locker room. "If I said anything wrong, I'm really sorry." She said walking towards her daughter's sobbing body.
Hank stood back and gave the two of them space. He knew that if something was wrong with Erin, Olivia would be the one to get it out of her.
Erin looked up at Olivia and wiped her face before she spoke. "Everything is wrong. I don't want this anymore. I don't want to chase after Bunny anymore."
Olivia didn't think this would affect Erin as much as it is, but she could understand why. She had to stop going after her dad for her own sanity because she became so obsessed with the case.
Before Olivia could reply, Hank jumped into the conversation. "She needs to be punished."
Olivia held her hand up to stop him. "No. Right now, we have to think about Erin." She sat down next to her on the bench. "We're done. I get how you're feeling, and a lot has happened in the last few months. You just found out that the life you lived has been a lie. We'll back off."
"Benson," Hank started.
"I don't want to hear it, Henry. Stop thinking like a cop for once and see that this is hurting your daughter." Olivia said while rubbing Erin's back.
Erin was glad that Olivia saw her side. This was all too overwhelming for her and she just wanted a break for once. "I'm sorry, but I just can't do it anymore."
"And that's okay." She said wrapping an arm around her. "A lot has happened in the last few months and it can be too much. I know it's a little too much for me. We'll take a break, but like your dad said, she needs to be punished." At this point, Olivia wasn't going after Bunny anymore just for her own selfish reasons, but because Bunny has also ruined other families' lives, and they deserved justice. And as a cop, she was going to do her best to give them the justice they deserve.
Olivia had always been good at finding a happy medium for everyone, and Hank was glad of that skill in this moment. "We'll back off and focus on our family right now."
Erin knew them enough to know that even though she wanted to stop the investigation completely, a break is the most she was going to get out of the two of them. "Okay. I'm sorry about what I said. I know you guys love me."
"It's okay. Your entire life has been turned upside down and you're questioning everything. Just know that we do have your backs. You may feel alone, but you have us. And if you don't want to talk to your dad, which I don't blame you, you know my phone is always on."
"I'm literally right here."
Erin chuckled and leaned on Olivia's shoulder. "Thank you."
Before Olivia could reply, she felt a small movement, almost like a kick. Her hand immediately went to her stomach, which had Hank and Erin nervous because of the past, but the grin across her face relaxed them. "I think she's kicking, or moving. Whatever she's doing, I can feel it."
Erin hand went to where Olivia's hand was and she tried to see if she could feel anything. "Is she still doing it?"
"Yeah." Olivia nodded, while a few happy tears fell from her eyes. She was really becoming a mother again, and feeling her baby move for the first time made her the happiest she's been in awhile.
Hank had just fallen asleep after working a fourteen hour shift when Olivia woke him up by screaming his name.
"Hank, oh my god!" Her hand was on her upper stomach and she was smiling so hard.
He woke up alert, prepared to defend his family. "What?"
"Babe, she's kicking! I felt her kick!" Olivia was almost seven months and she was worried when she wasn't feeling much movement from the baby. The doctor constantly reassured her that it was nothing to worry about and that the baby was fine, but Olivia wanted to feel her daughter move.
"Jesus fucking Christ, Olivia. I thought something was wrong with you." He said slowly coming down from his adrenaline high. "Is she still doing it?" He said with his hands on Olivia's growing baby bump.
Olivia didn't even have to answer as Erin kicked again, with a little more force behind this one.
"Holy shit. That's our little princess in there."
"I don't know if you can feel her yet." Olivia said through tears. "God, it took you seven months to finally kick me."
"So, I've always been this stubborn?" Erin asked with a slight smirk.
"Yes," Olivia nodded and smiled. "But I wouldn't change it for the world." She stood up from the bench. "We got the hint, and we're done with the case for now. You ready to go back out there?"
"Yeah," she stood up from the bench with her. "By the way, Jay knows everything that's going on. He knows not to tell anyone, but I just thought I should let you guys know."
"I wouldn't expect you to keep this from him." Hank said. Even though he wasn't the biggest fan of their relationship, Jay did treat Erin well, so he couldn't make that many complaints.
Olivia offered Erin a small smile, knowing that having at least one parent approve of her relationship made things a little easier. "I'm glad you have someone to talk to about this." She said as they were walking out of the locker room.
"I am, too."
When the three of them walked back into the bullpen, they were welcomed by Noah's laughs.
"Looks like Noah has stolen you guys heart, too." Olivia said walking over to the desk he was sitting on and tickled his stomach. "Up." She told him. Though, her shoulder was healed, it wasn't as strong as it used to be, and heavy lifting was still a struggle for her.
"You have a cute kid, Olivia." Kim said while tickling Noah while he was in Olivia's arms.
She smiled. "Thank you." She almost went on to say that she tends to make them, but remembered that to the rest of the world, Noah was her only child. "Well, we should get out of here and let you guys continue working." She said repositioning Noah on her hip, which caused his leg to pull down on her shirt, showing her bump slightly.
Kevin was the first one to notice, but he knew if he said something and she really wasn't pregnant, Hank would kill him. Though, her being pregnant would explain why she suddenly moved to Chicago, he thought to himself.
Adam, on the other hand, have yet to discover his filter. "Whoa! Are you pregnant?"
"Ruzek." Hank said with a stern tone. That kid will never learn to just shut his mouth sometimes.
"It's okay, Hank." Olivia softly smiled before she looked back at the squad awaiting her answer. "We are expecting." She was glad that she was able to tell someone besides Erin and Hank. "But you guys are the first to know outside of family. My squad doesn't even know."
"Way to go, Sarge." Adam raised his hand so Voight could give him a hi-five, but he was left hanging.
"Congrats, guys. I'll babysit any time I'm not on the clock." Burgess said with a smile.
"Thank you. I'm almost six months, so we're more than halfway there."
"So, Erin is getting another sibling. This makes, what, number four? You're a busy man, Sarge." Kevin joked with him. Even though Justin and now this one were the only ones that were biologically Hank's, Kevin knew that Voight loved Erin and Noah just as much as his biological kids.
"Gross, I don't want to think about that." Erin said with a slightly disgusted look on her face, especially since she knew how she had to get here.
"Hey, we all got here, some way."
"As much as I would love to continue this love fest, we just caught a break in the Miller's case." Al said grabbing his coat. "But congrats you two." He said before walking out of the precinct.
"Well, Noah, we have to get going. Give pops a hug and kiss."
Noah nearly jumped out Olivia's and into Hank's. "Bye bye, pops." He said before wrapping his tiny arms around Hank's neck. "Safe." He said before going back to Olivia.
Olivia smiled. He had heard Olivia tell Hank to be safe so many times, he was picking up on it. "See you when you get home. All of you guys be safe."
"Olive agreed to watch Noah for me tomorrow, thankfully. I guess we should start looking for a nanny, too." Olivia said over the phone to Hank while she laid in bed. He was still stuck at work and because of his unpredictable schedule, Olivia had no one to watch Noah while she sat in on the interviews for the Chicago Special Victims Unit. She would have six to eight detectives working under her, which was the most she's ever had.
"Yeah, it wouldn't be fair to leave Olive with Daniel, Noah, and Ella." He said slightly smiling at the mention of their unborn child's name.
She smiled along with him. "Can you believe we get to find out what we're having in two days?" Her hand fell to her stomach, which seem to be growing every day. It was noticeable now and couldn't be hidden.
"I'm really excited, Benson. We finally get to do this the right way." He felt like he wasn't the best dad to Justin and definitely not Erin, so Ella and Noah allowed him redemption. He was glad he would be able to raise his last child with the love of his life.
"We do. I know we have the most abnormal family situation ever, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. We have amazing kids and I'm glad to go on this journey with you."
"Don't get too soft on me, Benson." He chuckled knowing that she hated when he would ruin moments like this.
She rolled her eyes. "Well, I wish you would have went soft on me and maybe I wouldn't have your daughter kicking my bladder right now."
He couldn't help but to laugh at her. "I don't ever recall a time where you complained about it."
"If I had a penny for every time you made a cocky remark."
He smiled. "Oh, you love me."
She shook her head while laughing. "I do, but I hear Noah waking up from his nap, so I will talk to you later. Be safe and I love you."
"Love you, too, Benson."
"We're a few minutes away from finding out that we're having a girl." Hank said while holding Olivia's hand while she laid on the exam table.
She smiled. "Hank, what if we have another boy? We haven't even given that thought."
"No, I know you're carrying a girl. You're carrying the same way you were with Erin." He said giving her a soft smile as he thought about them experiencing parenthood for the second time together.
"Well, if that's any indication, then we will not be finding out what we're having until I give birth."
He thought about it for a moment before he spoke. "You have a point there. Let's hope this one is a little less stubborn than Erin."
"Then she'll have to have my personality, because Erin definitely got her stubbornness from you." She said poking fun at him.
Before he could reply to her, the technician walked into the room. "All your blood work looks fine, so let's take a peek at your little princess or prince and see what you're having."
"See, what happens when you listen to the doctor?" Hank said to Olivia. The beginning of her pregnancy was rough, but once she finally sat down and listened to doctor orders, she felt healthier.
She wanted to say something sassy back to him, but he was right. She had a hard time listening to what they were saying.
"I'm glad you started listening to us. We don't want to make your life miserable on purpose, we just want the best for the baby."
"Yes, I know." Olivia said with a playful eyeroll. "But since we can all see that I have no problem following instructions, can we get to the ultrasound now?"
"Of course." Angie, the technician said with a smile on her face. "As you know this will be a little cold." She said before squeezed the gel on Olivia's stomach. "Let's hear that heartbeat first." She began to move the handheld device around until a loud thumping sound echoed throughout the room.
While this wasn't the first time Olivia has heard the baby's heartbeat, it still was able to bring tears to her eyes. It was moments like this that she felt her absolute happiest and forgot about everything else in her life. She was becoming a mom again and nothing made her happier than being a mom.
Hank missed out of the first appointments, so hearing his baby's heartbeat for the first time immediately brought him to tears. All he could think about was his road of redemption and how he wouldn't mess up with this one. He was going to protect this baby with every bone in his body, even if it killed him.
"The heartbeat sounds amazing and the baby looks like it is at a healthy size. Now, let's see if Baby Voight is nice enough to show us what it is."
Olivia squeezed Hank's hand a little tighter as they both kept their eyes glue to the screen.
After a few minutes of poking and rubbing, Angie was finally able to get a good look at the baby's gender. "Well, Baby Voight is a little princess!"
"Oh my, God!" Olivia said smiling with tears rolling down her face. She looked over at Hank, who had the same look of happiness on his face. "We're having a baby girl!"
He kissed her hand. "I hope she's just like you."
