Akari's popularity has only grown since his deed for Honey. Now it has everyone thinking Akari has feelings for Honey, but now it seems Honey feels the same way. Fuji finds this to be great for Akari to like someone and pushes him to stop thinking it's the end of the world, even if Akari denies it all.
Chapter Three: Cupid Fuji
Fuji was the first to know Akari's feelings for Honey-Senpai. Akari didn't exactly say he liked Honey-Senpai, but he never saw Akari so worked up over someone before. Whether Akari realizes it or not he does harbor feelings for the blonde and it's clear in Fuji's eyes.
"It's so obvious! The only one who doesn't know is Akari himself. He's so stubborn." Fuji talked to himself as he looked through his phone's photo album. The most recent pictures were of Akari with Honey-Senpai, zoomed mostly on Akari. "Senpai likes him so there's not a problem about rejection from the little guy," Fuji muttered.
"How can someone be so oblivious to his own feelings?" Fuji asked himself wanting to find a way for Akari to stop denying his feelings.
~The Next Day~
Fuji figured out what he was going to do. He was going to confront Honey-Senpai and make sure Honey didn't do anything to hurt him. He wanted what was best for Akari and he knew his friend needed to be more social and dating was a social thing!
"Senpai! Wait, can I talk to you?" Fuji called out seeing Honey and Mori-Senpai walking down the hall.
Honey looked over and saw Fuji run up to them. "Oh, hi Fuji-chan! What would you like to talk about?" The blonde asked.
"It's about A-chan- I mean Akari. It's important. Akari isn't social, he's anything but social. He'll shut down if he's around too many people. I don't want him to be hurt, but I know he needs better social skills. Just please don't hurt my best friend." Fuji told him making Honey blink.
Honey processed what he was told and smiled. "I wouldn't dream of hurting A-chan." He told him.
"Thank you," Fuji said feeling a bit better, knowing situations aren't exactly perfect. "He's really stubborn so he won't admit anything involving feelings, he's oblivious to that stuff." He told Honey making the blonde nod with this information.
"Does A-chan have a favorite cake?" Honey asked after Fuji finished telling him stuff about Akari that the blonde will definitely not forget.
"Yeah, he's a sucker for strawberry cake." Fuji chuckled. "He loves eating the strawberries off the top." He told him chuckling at a memory he had with Akari.
Honey smiled more. "Thanks, Fuji-chan! We have to go now, bye!" He told Fuji as he left for class with Mori.
Fuji waved with a smile on his face. "I've done a good deed." He told himself before walking off to class.
It was lunchtime again and Akari was at his locker to put stuff away and blinked seeing a small strawberry cake in his locker with strawberry slices making a heart on top. There was a note next to it.
Curious Akari took the letter and read the note;
'To A-chan!
I heard you liked strawberry cake and got you some! It suits you, you're very sweet. You should come to the Host Club and eat lunch with me and Usa-chan! Don't worry, this time it'll only be us... And Takashi, but no one else! We'll be waiting!
❤ Honey'
Akari felt his face heat up and slammed the note down. What the hell? WHAT THE HELL!? Was he serious? Akari gulped and took out the small cake. How did he know he liked strawberry cake?
He paused, knowing exactly who would give that information out. "Fuji." He growled lowly but ate a piece of cake. His eyes widened and he immediately put the cake down in his locker and slammed it shut with a blush on his face.
He looked at the time as he held a tray of lunch seeing he still had time. He considered not going at all, but he didn't want to deal with Honey being upset about it and him getting attacked for it.
He opened the doors seeing there weren't any guests there at all, no one was in there except Honey and Mori-Senpai.
"A-chan! There you are! Come on, let's eat!" Honey told him seeing him and waving at him happily.
Akari let out a deep breath and came inside and walked over to the table they were sitting at. "Um, was t-there a reason to ask me to eat lunch with you, Honey?" He asked him feeling nervous while blushing slightly.
"I just wanted to hang out with you, A-chan. Usa-chan likes you holding him, isn't that right Takashi?" Honey smiled holding out the stuffed rabbit. The tall male grunted with a small nod.
Akari hesitantly took the rabbit Honey held out to him and placed him on his lap. 'This all started because of you.' He mentally told the bunny toy.
~A Week Later~
Fuji was proud of himself for what happened. He definitely saw a change in his friend. Akari was getting more involved with people and it made him happy that he was being social.
"Come on, Akari. I'm proud of you, I never seen you hang out with other people like you are now." Fuji smiled brightly at Akari who was laying his head on the table in the library.
"It's exhausting and I hate it," Akari replied just wanting things to go back to how they were before.
"Well, just take a break then, I'm sure Senpai will understand." Fuji smiled and chuckled seeing the tips of Akari's ears turn red.
"This has nothing to do with him!" Akari exclaimed blushing.
"Well, every time he asks you to hang out with him you always say yes, so it's part of it," Fuji told him making Akari growl.
"I don't want to deal with the consequences of upsetting him, I have to do it." He told him.
"You say that, but people say no to Honey sometimes and he's okay with it. He's not going to force you to do stuff you don't want to do." Fuji sighed. "It's why you should tell others how you feel sometimes, then they would know if something is too much."
Akari was silent for a few seconds. "... I hate it when you're like this." He told him with a mutter.
"Look, next time Senpai comes to ask you to come to the Host Club just say, 'Sorry, Honey. I need to head home right now. I'll see you tomorrow though.' and boom he'll say okay and you can get on with recovering from socialization." Fuji suggested.
The brunette hates how Fuji could be smart sometimes, but he's still sure that won't work, but he's going to keep bothering him if he doesn't try to say no to Honey. "Fine, but this is on you if it doesn't work out." He told him.
"So Honey, you're going to ask him out tomorrow?" One of the girls questioned as it was during Club hours.
Honey nodded smiling happily holding his bunny. "Yup I already got him a big cake to give to him, he's very sweet." He giggled.
"Ah, he's so lucky." Another girl swooned.
"So Honey-Senpai really is going to ask Akari-Senpai out?" Haruhi asked.
"Yes, he specifically asked to do it in the club while we're out to the courtyard during club hours. Obviously, Tamaki agreed." Kyoya told her.
"Yeah, it's pretty unusual to have Honey-Senpai focus on something other than cake," Hikaru replied.
"But we've never seen him be that happy with someone before, other than Mori-Senpai," Kaoru added.
"So Honey-Senpai never had a crush on anyone before?" Haruhi asked.
The twins shook their heads.
"That never was a focus for Honey, until now," Kyoya said as they watched Honey smiling brightly with his guests.
"A-chan!" Honey exclaimed jumping onto Akari's back. Akari gasped and stumbled as he regained his balance.
"Hi, Honey," Akari told him already psyching himself out to tell Honey he can't hang out with him today.
"I need to talk with you after school. It's very important, would you meet me in the Host Club?" Honey asked him smiling at him.
Akari felt the words hitch in his throat as he looked away blushing slightly. "Fine." He replied making Honey brighten up more.
"Thanks, A-chan, you're the best!" He told him jumping off and waving at him.
Akari watched him leave and let out a sigh. 'I could've said no if I wanted to, but he said it was important...' He thought to himself convincing himself that was the reason he didn't say no to him.
Meanwhile, Fuji watched the whole thing and was bursting with excitement. "It's working!" He whispered to himself. Things were going so well and now he was sure Akari was going to be asked out by Honey-Senpai! Akari's cold heart was finally melting.
Akari didn't know why he was so nervous as he got to the doors to the Host Club, his hands were clammy and he felt like how he was in that tree. He opened the doors and saw no one was there, not even Mori-Senpai. He spotted Honey by the window. He didn't even have his plush with him.
He shut the doors behind him making Honey perk up and look over and smile at him. "You came!" He told him, getting up.
He nodded. "Y-Yeah. Um, you said it was important." He told him.
Honey nodded blushing slightly. "Yes, it is." He told Akari looking away slightly before looking back up at Akari. "I like you a lot, Akari. Would you be my boyfriend?" He asked him.
Akari froze hearing Honey ask him out. His face turned a bright red. "W-What!?" He exclaimed. "Boyfriend!?" He questioned.
Honey nodded with a giggle. "Yes, you've done so much for me and I want you to be mine." He told him blushing. "Do you accept?" He asked him.
Akari was for a loss of words. He didn't know what to do. If he said no Honey would be devastated and he would be known as the one who broke his heart! If he said yes he's going to be known as his boyfriend. He didn't know which one would be worse.
"I-I uh... I mean." He panicked blushing brightly and covered his face. "O-okay..." He muttered slightly making Honey's eyes widen.
"Yay!" Honey exclaimed and jumped into Akari's arms, nuzzling him. "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! You made me so happy!" Honey told him before kissing his cheek causing Akari's face to turn a darker shade of red.
Honey jumped down and giggled at his reaction and held his hand. "You're cute when you're flustered." He told him making Akari's breath hitch in his throat, becoming more flustered in the process.
"You know, the Host Club is going to a beach for the weekend. I know guests will be there, but I would like it if you were there too, we can hang out when the guests leave for the night." Honey suggested blushing slightly.
Akari was still processing his decision to become Honey's boyfriend he didn't listen to the question and nodded, not knowing what he was getting himself into.
"Great! Don't forget a swimsuit A-chan, I can't wait!" Honey said happily giving Akari a hug before running out of the room.
"What did I just agree to?" Akari asked as he realized too late he just agreed to do something involving a swimsuit.
Later he learned where he would be going and what he got himself into. He was screwed in more ways than one now. He never dated anyone before and now he was with Honey. Was this his life now?
"I... Need to go to bed." Akari muttered to himself wanting today's events to leave him even though tomorrow would be the start of his new relationship, and he could swear he heard Fuji cheering in the background, but at this point, he didn't care.
A/N: Sorry for the very late update
