Zhou and all of the other soldiers who are in the army with him, followed Captain Li to the training grounds. They all had stopped in their tracks. Captain Li stopped himself. They turned around to face to face each other. At first there was silence. The only thing that everybody heard was the wind blowing. The air was silent. Nobody was saying a word to each other.There wasn't one soldier to speak up.
Captain Li called to them all. His voice went beyond the Training Grounds.
"What's going on?", he asked out loud.
Zhou stood silent thinking about what the soldier was or wasn't saying. Zhou was standing further away from him. Zhou was staring as the soldier's lips appeared to be moving. Nothing was coming out. The soldier turned away to look up at Captain Li. He was still silent. For a little while, it seemed like he wouldn't speak.
Then, "We are at war.",he revealed.
