One Year Prior:

Liz was laying in her bed, swirling a glass of wine one night when her phone buzzed with Peter Stone's picture.

She smiled small, getting lost in the selfie of the pair of them he'd set as the photo.

Elizabeth Stabler had been sleeping with Peter Stone, in what started as a joke, for six months.

The feelings were starting to hit both of them hard but, nervous about the age difference, Liz hadn't actually even let him past the threshold of her front door.

Instead, their meetings took place at his luxury apartment or whatever fancy hotel suite he could get them on short notice.

That night, however, Liz was on call for the kiddos due to her parents insane work schedule and Liv's increasingly growing belly, and was stuck in her apartment, missing her guy.

Picking up the phone, she cozied back in bed and sighed happily into it.

"Hi there…"

"Hey," came his deep voice that didn't sound nearly as chipper as usual.

"You okay?" She frowned.

"Just a long day and wanted to hear your voice," he said softly.

"Babe I'm sorry," she frowned, "I…"

"Don't apologize," he chuckled softly. "I understand…"

"It's just…"

"Your niece and nephew, I get it."

Her eyes squeezed shut and her breath hitched at the sound of her lie spilling from his lips.

"I…"

She paused, sighed softly to herself as she tried desperately to figure out her next move.

"Liz?" He asked her, concerned.

"Come over," she blurted out. "I'll… text you my address.

Present:

"PETER STONE??!" Elliot cried loudly later that night once he and his wife were safe in their bedroom suite.

"Elliot, keep your voice down," she scolded, glaring at him and sending a silent prayer of thanks that the shower was running.

"She's… he's! What? 50?!" He hissed.

"He's 48, and you need to take a breather."

"I won't allow this," he said as Liv started to take a step into the shower.

Liv scoffed and turned to look at him. "She's 28, Elliot. You don't much have a choice, do you?"

Clenching and unclenching his fists, he climbed into the shower with an annoyed grumble and let the water wash over him.

She sucked in a deep breath and very gently rubbed his rippling muscles from where he was tensed from the sudden revelation.

"El," she said, kissing his shoulder blade when he leaned forward against the wall.

"What," he muttered.

"El… I know this is weird it's… it's weird for me, too, considering I knew him well but… she's happy? She's bringing someone home and being engaged with her family? El this is a good thing. Who cares about the age difference?"

"I do," he said, turning to face her. "The hell does a 48 year old want with a 28 year old!"

"Elliot," Olivia warned, switching back into captain mode.

"She's setting a horrible example for our young daughter!"

"And our sons are not setting a bad example for our younger two?" She scoffed, stepping back and crossing her arms.

"It's different."

"It's not different. Eli is newly 18 and living with his 17 year old girlfriend and their twins. Dickie has a two year old and one on the way and he still won't marry the woman who he's been with since he was 19, almost ten years," she clarified giving him a look. "And Katie and Beau..." she continued, stopping when he held his hand up.

"You made your point."

"You're being an asshole right now," she said, shaking her head. "Get out."

"No," he said, crossing his arms and standing under the water. "I have a right to be upset with this information!"

"You're absolutely insufferable sometimes," she scoffed and smacked his stomach, stepping out of the shower.

Throwing her hair in a bun and wrapping a fluffy robe around herself, she made her way to the kitchen for a glass of wine, knowing they both needed to relax.

Liz was back on the couch having finishing hanging with her younger and oldest sister, and sighed seeing her mom.

"So he's not happy I take it?"

"He's just… protective," Liv said, offering a small smile. "He loves you."

"He's stubborn," Lizzie sighed, shaking her head.

"He is… but he does love you and wants the best for you," she said, sitting beside her. "And he knows he's in deep shit, so he just needs to cool down," she teased making her daughter laugh softly.

"I'm really happy, mom," she sighed. "I know it's… weird but I just… I'm really happy."

"And I'm happy you're happy and hanging with us… we want nothing more, you understand?"

She nodded and leaned into her. "I'm sorry I've been MIA… I guess finding out what Kathy did to Dickie really took a toll on my psyche…"

"Don't be sorry… we all grieve differently. I'm just happy you've found someone that makes you happy. Okay?"

She nodded and curled further into her, sighing softly.

"You didn't get to finish telling me what happened that night?" Liv whispered, playing with her hair and handing over her glass of wine.

Liv sensed El sneak into the kitchen, but ignored him and focused on their daughter.

Taking it and gulping back a heavy sip, Liz smiled small, starting where she'd left off earlier in the day.

"Hi…" she whispered, opening the door.

"Hi babe we don't…" he trailed off when she grabbed his hand gently and pulled him in for a soft kiss.

"Well not gonna say no to that," he breathed out with a small smile. "Hi…"

"Hi…" she sighed softly, wrapping her arms around his neck. "I lied to you earlier," she whispered, laying her head on his chest.

"What?" He chuckled softly, hugging her a little tighter.

"It's not my niece and nephew I'm on call for…"

"You gonna tell me you have secret kids?" He joked, and she giggled. "No… No...it's my baby brother and sister…"

Peter laughed a little louder and gave her a squeeze before pulling back. "Why would you lie about that?"

"Because I… my family is weird and I'm kinda the outcast and I didn't want you to not like me cause I have kid siblings and my stepmom, well really my mom, is pregnant again because other guys think that's weird and on top of that I mean my dad is this crazy psycho over protective cop and my real mom died but she-"

He cut her ramblings off with a kiss. "Let's get some wine and you can start from the top. Okay?"

"Okay," she nodded, leaning into him.

The pair got their drinks and curled up on the couch, where Lizzie shared her entire life story as Peter listened intently, laughing along with her when she laughed and holding her when she cried.

"And then we found out that Kathy was like so shitty to my Liv and she knew about Emma, and Noah, too," she said with a shake of her head.

"Noah and Emma?" He asked. "Liv?"

"Oh yeah sorry I should probably tell you everyone's names," she laughed softly, covering her face.

"Would be helpful," he smiled, feeling his heart start to race.

"So there's my dad Elliot, my birth mother Kathy, and my step mom who basically is my mom, Olivia. My siblings are Maureen who is married to Carl, Kathleen who's dating Beau, my twin Dickie who won't just marry his girlfriend and baby mama or forever, Sarah," she rolled her eyes chuckling softly.

"So Elliot, Kathy, Olivia, Maureen, Kathleen, Dickie…" Peter nodded.

"Uh huh, and Dickie has Anna Kate, my god daughter. Oh she's perfect, Liz sighed happily, pulling out her phone to show him a photo.

"Ohhh she's cute… she looks like you so I take it you look like your dad?"

"We all do… Stabler genes are strong. But my sister is starting to look more like Mom," she nodded, scrolling through. "That's Eli and Emma, my little brother and sister."

"Eli is Kathy's and Emma is Olivia and your dad's?"

"Correct, and then Liv is pregnant again and then this," she swiped, "is my littlest brother for now-"

"Noah." They said together.

Liz looked up at him, slightly shocked at the look on his face.

"Why do you look like you've seen a ghost," she whispered.

"Feel like I have…"

"And that's when the break up make up started," Liz laughed softly. "Begggggged me. Begged me to keep him. Slow as I needed it to go, long as it took… didn't matter. Said he was falling for me which freaked me out more," she teased softly and Liv laughed.

"Hmmm you get that from me."

"Uh huh," Liz chuckled, "but… we just kept up with what we were doing and I knew I was falling for him… he didn't push to hard to meet you guys, but reminded me every so often how bad he wanted to. I mean he's truly perfect mom…"

"He's a good man," she agreed, still playing with her hair. "So what changed huh?"

"Kathy coming back… brought so many emotions and I realized I was… pushing everyone away for no reason. And I hated it so like… I got home that night and just blurted out that I loved him. That I wanted him to meet you guys and I wanted my future with him and… yeah."

"I'm proud of you… I know it's hard," she said softly, pressing a kiss to her temple.

"Well… both stubborn and strong like you I guess," she teased softly, wiping her eyes.

"No…" came El's voice from behind them. "Definitely stubborn like your dad," he nodded, handing them both filled glasses and sitting in front of them. "I'm sorry… both of you."

"It's okay," Liz said, smiling small. "I just really want you to like him, daddy… he's… the one."

El looked down, getting choked up for a minute before looking back up to her. "I'm sure I will… invite him to skating tomorrow, yeah?"

"R-really?"

"Uh huh," he nodded, "really."

Setting her glass down, she leaned in to hug him tightly. "Love you daddy…"

"I love you… and I'm glad we have you back. Just remember something? You'll always be my first baby girl," he winked and she laughed softly, wiping her eyes.

"I know dad…"

"El I'll be in in a second," Liv whispered, and he nodded, leaning to kiss her before heading off to bed.

"Don't be too hard on him," Liz breathed out.

"I won't. Just gotta make him sweat," she winked making the pair laugh.

After finishing their wine and talking a little more, Liv made her way back into their room and shut and locked their door.

"Baby I'm sorry," he said immediately, standing and walking towards her.

"I need to shower… come make it up to me," she said, sauntering by him and dropping her robe as she walked.

"Thank you Jesus," he whispered loudly, following after her.

She was already climbing into the warmed shower when he discarded the rest of his clothes.

Coming up behind her, he began to massage her shoulders, applying the perfect amount of pressure to ease her tense muscle, and the softest kisses to send chills up her spine.

"I'm sorry," he repeated, close to her ear.

"Hmmm you're just being protective," she said, leaning against him.

"Yeah but…. I shouldn't have said that."

"You know watching you be papa bear turns me on…"

"Oh I know," he muttered, snaking his hands down her front to the cleanly shaven mound that made him weak in the knees. "But still… I'm better than that."

"No one is perfect," she whispered, gasping quietly when he pressed a finger up into her.

"Forgive me?" He asked as he pumped slowly and her jaw went slack.

"God yes," she breathed out, rolling her hips into the heel of his hand. "Yes… yes…"

"Yeah?" Asked, cock now fully erect against her back, dripping with precum and desperate to be inside of her.

"Uh huh… baby I…" she trailed off and rolled her head side to side as a smaller orgasm washed through her and her body convulsed.

"Small one," El commented and she nodded and rested her head against his check, satiated but for just a moment. "Can do better for you," he whispered.

The double entendre wasn't lost on her, and with the last bit of strength she had, she turned in his arms and hugged his middle, smiling when his cock twitched between them.

Taking several unsteady steps, she backed up slowly and hoisted her leg around his hips, using her free hand to lead his cock to her entrance."

"You can. And you are. Our girl is back. That's what's important El."

"You're right," he moaned out softly, pushing into her, "maybe I won't give him the dad talk."

"Oh no you definitely need to give him the cad talk," she said seriously after a long moan that pushed her head into his chest and she stretched to accommodate his size, before laughing.

He joined her immediately and nodded. "Thank god!"
