Chapter 2: Legacy (1/4).
Maxwell and Angelo Peverell were walking side by side on their way to the King's Cross Station.
Angelo was wearing a very nice gray suit with a matching hat while carrying a cane, he didn't needed but the cane had his uses.
Maxwell was wearing a simple white shirt, black trousers and black shoes. He walked alongside his grandfather while pushing a baggage card with his things on it.
"Ahh... the memories." His grandfather spoke up. "I still remember how sad your grandmother was the day we left Alistair on the train."
That surprised Maxwell. "Why was she sad?"
"She just couldn't believe that it was already time for him to go to Hogwarts." His Grandfather told him with a bit of wonder on his face as he looks around.
Maxwell just smiled at that. He looked around the platform a bit and could see several people around. I can tell that some of them are magical. He couldn't help but note. While pushing the card, he started to wonder what will Hogwarts be like. Once, he asked his grandfather to take him there. But he refused, saying that it would kill the wonder.
Another that was on his mind at the moment, was a worry that Dobby wouldn't handle all the shores that the castle demanded.
The Peverell heir however, was quickly pulled from his thoughts when they arrived at the platform. Platform 9 3/4, there you are.
"Like I told you, just pass through it." His grandfather instructed him.
Maxwell nodded in response, before preparing to charge at the wall. But when he was about to charge at it. He noticed a group if gingers also pushing baggage cards. Wait, I think I know them.
Suddenly, his grandfather approached the woman of the group and took off his hat to compliment her. "Mrs. Weasley , It's a pleasure to meet you again." He extended his hand.
"Minister Peverell, what a surprise." The woman spoke with a surprised expression as she shakes his hands in return.
Oh, now I remember. Maxwell remembers meeting Arthur Weasley during a visit to the Ministry. They must be his family. He then left his baggage card to greet them as well.
"Allow me to introduce you to my grandson, Maxwell Peverell." His grandfather introduced him.
All of them looked surprised. Something that Maxwell will probably see a lot. He extended his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Likewise." She shakes his hand.
Besides her, there was a pretty little girl that looked a year or two younger than him. She also extended her hands awkwardly at him. "I-i-i'm Ginny!" She stuttered a bit before saying her name really loud.
"Pleased meet you, Ginny." He replied with a smile, that made the girl's cheeks turn red.
Maxwell then looked to the left and saw four other boys.
Out of nowhere, one of them approached his grandfather. He seemed to be the oldest of the four, he wore horn-rimmed glasses, and seemed to be trying to carry himself in a dignified manner. He looks very pretentious and silly.
"Minister Peverell, is a great honor to meet you." He extended his hand to Angelo. "I'm Percy Weasley."
"The honor is mine, Percy." His grandfather shakes his hand in respect.
Behind Percy, there were two identical boys standing besides each other. "Good to meet you." Both spoke at the same time and shaked their hands for Maxwell.
Maxwell was about to shake their hands, but he noticed something on their sleeves. "Nice try, but I can see what you two are hiding on your sleeves." Maxwell wasn't exactly sure what it was, but he saw someone being pranked by it once. Apparently it would enter on your sleeve and walk around inside your shirt like a small animal. He shakes their hands by the forearms instead.
"Oh, this one might be a challenge, Fred." The left twin spoke.
"We might have be creative with this one, George." The other twin spoke.
"Fred and George, don't even think about doing your childish pranks on him!" Mrs: Weasley was quick to yell at the twins.
"No, they can try if they want." Maxwell told her. "Though they gonna have to work very hard for me to fall into one of their pranks."
"Challenge accepted." The Twins spoke at the same time.
Behind the twins, there was another boy, which seemed to be the youngest son. He had blue eyes, a long nose, and was very tall and lanky, with big hands and feet. "Hi, I'm Ron Weasley." He extended his hand.
"Hi, Ron." Maxwell shakes his hand. "Is it your first year too?"
"Yes." He replied.
"Speaking of first year, you all should get going before you lose the train." His grandfather reminded them.
"Oh, right." Maxwell remembered that he had to get to the train. "See you all on the other side." Maxwell told them befpr going back to his baggage card.
He charges and passes through the wall.
After hugging his grandfather and saying his goodbyes, Maxwell Peverell made his way towards the Hogwarts Express. His goodbye had to be quick, since him and the Weasleys almost missed the express due to the introductions.
Percy, Fred and George quickly left to find their friends. Which left him and Ronald to try to find an empty carriage.
"So, you guys were late because the twins hid Percy's prefect badge?" Maxwell asked. As Ronald was explaining the reason to why his family was late.
"Yes, Percy has been acting really pretentious, since he got that badge." Ron explained to him. "Why were you late?"
"Well..." Maxwell had to help his grandfather solve a little problem with his pets. "It's... a long story, we should just focus on finding a empty carriage."
Both the blond boy and the red haired boy kept on walking, searching for either a empty or half-full carriage. Though it didn't seem like they were going to find it. But as they kept on walking, someone bumped into them.
"Sorry," The one bumped was a round - faced, short and chubby boy with blond hair. Though his blond hair was darker than Maxwell's. "Have you seen a Toad around here?" He asked them.
"No," Ron replied.
Maxwell on the other hand had an idea. "Is your carriage full?" He asked the boy.
"Ummm... no, it's just me and a girl." He responded him with a confused face.
"Okay, what's the Toad's name." Max asked.
"Trevor." He told him.
Maxwell then extended his left hand into the air. "Accio Trevor." Suddenly, a brown Toad, covered in wart-like bumps is summoned into his hands."
"Trevor!" Max handed the Toad to him.
Ironically, it should be impossible to summon living creatures. But one Maxwell's ancestors, Grayson Peverell, was a specialist in charms and found several improvement for well known charms. Improvement that were never shared with the general public.
"Thanks." He thanked Max.
"You can thank us by letting us sit on your carriage, we have been searching for one for nearly half-hour." Maxwell told him, which was why he helped him on the first place.
"Oh, okay." He agreed to. "I'm Neville, Neville Longbotton." He introduced himself to them.
"I'm Max and this is Ron." Max introduced himself and Ron. I think I heard that name before.
After the introductions, Neville lead the two towards his carriage. Where they finally were able to sit down. Maxwell and Ronald sat close to the window and Neville sat close to the door.
"Ummm, so... So it's true?" Ronald asked him. "I mean, do you... have..."
"What?" Maxwell asked confused.
"The... The Scar..."
"Oh, yeah." Ronald was talking about his infamous scar, the one he got from surviving the Killing Curse. "And before you ask, I ain't going to show it."
"It's okay, but.. I heard it's a big scar on your chest." Ronald was very curious.
Neville just sat there not really understanding what they were talking about.
"Yes, it is." Maxwell bluntly replied.
Before Ron could say anything else, they heard the carriage door opening. Both of them turned their face to see who opened. It was a girl, she had light skin, bright brown eyes, a long mane of brown hair and rather large front teeth. She looks like a smart girl. That was Maxwell's first impression.
"You found your Toad." She spoke with a bit of annoyance on her voice. "You could have warned me that found it."
"Oh, s-sorry, I forgot." Neville quickly apologized to her. "Umm... he made Trevor appear." He pointed Maxwell.
She then looked at both Max and Ron. But she then frowned a bit. "There's a rat on your lap." She pointed at Maxwell.
Maxwell then looked at his lap, and realized that there was a rat him.
"Ah, sorry." Ron grabbed the rat from Maxwell's lap. "This is Scabbers, he used to be my brother's pet, but now he's mine."
Maxwell took a good look at the rat and noticed that one of his fingers was missing. He then touches his head with his index finger.
"Pathetic isn't he?" Ron asked him.
"No, he's alright." Maxwell assured him.
Max then turns his gaze back to the girl and extended his hand to her. "I'm Max and this is Ron." He introduced himself and Ronald to her.
Ron just waved to her after Max introduced him.
"I'm Hermione Granger." She shakes his hand respectfully. "You three better change into robes. I expect we'll be arriving soon." She was already wearing her robes.
"If that's the case, would mind stepping outside." Maxwell told her as she was the only girl there.
"Oh, yes, of course." She turned around and passed through the carriage door and locked the door behind them.
"What house do you guys think you'll be put in?" Neville asked them.
"My whole family were Gryffindors." Ronald spoke as he took off his shirt to change into the uniform.
"Mine too." Maxwell spoke.
"My parents were Gryffindors too." Neville told them.
Maxwell kept trying to remember, but he just couldn't remember where he heard the name Longbotton before. "What are their names?" Maxwell asked in hopes of figuring out.
"My father's name is Frank and my mother's name is Alice." Neville told him.
Oh, right! Alice Longbotton is my god mother's name, now I remember. Maxwell was told by his grandfather that his godparents names were Remus Lupin and Alice Longbotton. But Maxwell never really met them. "What strange coincidence."
"What do you mean?" Ron asked.
"Ah, his Mum is my godmother." Maxwell explained which widened Neville's eyes.
"Wait, what? But... my mum is the godmother of-" He was speaking before he was interrupted.
"Maxwell Peverell, that's my name." Maxwell explained as he unbuttoned his white shirt.
Neville made a shocked expression, which Maxwell will probably have to prepare himself for much more as soon he's called during the sorting.
Max then removed the undershirt that he was wearing.
"Bloody hell!" Ron yelled in surprise, when he saw Maxwell's chest. Where his infamous scar was.
Neville widened his eyes and gasped.
Suddenly, Hermione, who was waiting outside opened the door. Probably in worry due to Ron's yelling. And the moment that she saw Maxwell's scar, she covered her mouth after she gasped.
On Maxwell's chest, there was the scar that he received when he got hit by the killing curse. It was a big scar, shaped like a lighting bolt that went from his right shoulder until the left side his hip. It was very hard to look at it. Which was the reason to why Maxwell didn't want to show it. "That's why I didn't wanna show it." Maxwell told Ronald.
1976:
Alistair was currently walking through the corridors of Hogwarts alongside his best friend, Remus Lupin. Who was a bit on the edge, due to approaching full moon.
"Look, don't worry, the others and I have everything under control." Alistair assured him.
"Al, I'll never stop worrying." Remus spoke sadly.
They were making their way to the Quidditch pitch, where James and Sirius were on practice. They don't know where Peter is.
"Can I ask you a question?" Remus asked him.
"What is it?" Alistair replied.
"Do you... know what is wrong with Lily?" Remus asked him. "I mean, she's been acting weird since since you two went to that party together."
Should I tell him, or... the hell with, it's Remus, he can keep secret. "I'm gonna tell you, but I need you to swear to me, that you will not tell anyone, especially James.
"Remus made a very confused face. "Ummm...Okay."
"Apparently... Lily fancies someone, and whoever it is, she fancies him since she first arrived at Hogwarts." Alistair decided to reveal to him.
Remus made a very surprised face, followed by a worried one. "Oh no... If James finds out..."
"Exactly, I been trying to discover who it is, but every time Lily is about to tell me, someone interrupts it." Alistair explained to him. "I need to find out who it is before James finds out."
"Count me in, any clues?" Remus asked him.
"He's a Gryffindor, half or pure blood, he's not on the quidditch team and the five of us know him." Alistair explained what he knows so far.
"Any physical characteristics? Hair color or anything?" Remus asked him.
"She said that, he has a delicate type of beauty." Alistair told him.
"I literally don't know anyone in Gryffindor that matches that description." Remus stated.
"Me neither." No matter how hard Alistair tried, he just couldn't think of anyone. If Lily said that she was interested in someone from Hufflepuff, it would been easier to find someone matching that description.
"Well... Hey, maybe Alice or Mary know who it is." Remus suggested.
Dammit, how could I not think of that. Alistair scolded himself. Maybe Lily told them, I mean, Mary helped her get ready for the party. Lily probably told her. "Hey, I think I'm going to try to find Mary and asked her." Alistair told him. "Can you make an excuse for my absence?"
Remus gives him a thumbs up. "If you find out, please tell me, I'm really curious who won Lily's heart."
"Me too, he's a very lucky guy to have a girl as wonderful as Lily interested in him." Alistair said before he ran off to find Mary.
Alistair looked around for Mary, but it was being harder than he thought. He asked around but no one saw her. Alice was spending time with Frank, so he decided not to bother her.
He asked around for a bit, until a girl from Ravenclaw told Alistair that she went to ask professor Slughorm about a potion that she was having difficulty in making it.
So Alistair made his way to the potions classroom. As he through the corridors of the dungeons, Alistair heard a familiar voice.
"You think you can pass through here whenever you want, Mudblood!" The moment Alistair heard that, he quickly ran in direction of the voice.
"Leave me alone!" He heard Mary's voice.
Oh, no. Alistair kept on running.
"AHHHHH!" Alistair heard a scream which made him run even faster.
Turning on a corridor, he saw Mary in the ground on the middle of the corridor. With someone that Alistair detested standing in front of her with his wand pointed at her. Alistair quickly pulled out his wand. "Expelliarmus!'
The wand that he was pointing towards Mary flew out of his hands, and when Alistair was close enough, he delivered a right punch into his face. Which caused him to fall into the ground. "You never learn, do you, Avery?!"
The person that was hurting Mary, was Alec Avery Jr. "Of course, the blood traitor came the rescue the filthy mudblood." Avery told Alistair with a lot of spite in his voice.
Alec Avery was a ugly guy, a tall and skinny fox-faced guy.
"Shut your bloody mouth!" Alistair was yelled while pointing his wand at him. "Mary, are you okay?" He asked her.
"My arm hurts," She replied to him in pain while holding her right arm.
Alistair quickly went to check on her. He knell before her to take a look at her arm. Oh boy, this doesn't look good. Her arm looked like it was caught on fire due to some second degree burns on it. I got take her to the hospital wing.
"Watch out!" Alice yelled.Suddenly, out of nowhere. Alistair saw spell flying towards him, which he barely had time to evade. He moved to the left quickly, which caused the spell to hit the wall. Luckily it didn't hurt Mary.
Alistair then saw that Avery grabbed his wand back when he was checking on Mary. He quickly prepared his wand for battle."Are you insane?!" Alistair yelled at him.
"The only insane one here is you, Peverell." Avery spoke as he pointed his wand at Alistair. "Defending a filthy mudblood like her, did such a powerful pure - blood family fell so low?"
"Spare me of your elitist nonsense, put the wand down before I really hurt you." Alistair warned him.
"Oh, really, what if he hurts you first?" Avery spoke.Alistair made a confused face. Before around and saw a spell flying towards him, but this time, he didn't have time to dodge. He was hit on the chest and it send him flying pass Avery and falling hard on the ground.
He felt nearly overwhelming pain when he hit the ground. But he ignored the pain attempted to stood up. He struggled but managed to rise up. When he did, he saw who hit him. It was the second person that he hated the most. Marco Mulciber.
Mulciber wasn't as ugly as Avery, but he wasn't exactly handsome either. He had a long face and long dark brown hair.
"The stupid Gryffindor, trying to be hero." Mulciber spoke in a mocking voice. "What else can come from a blood traitor." He approached Alistair.Avery did the same.
Alistair noticed that they were focusing on him. So he, in a suddle way, signaled Mary to get out of there. Luckily it worked, Mary , although struggling, managed to stand up and run.
Avery turned around and pointed his wand at her.
But Alistair was quicker. He used a nonverbal spell, that would have incapacitated him. If Mulciber didn't saw Alistair launching it and pulled Avery out of the way. But it did serve as a distraction for Mary to get out of sight.
"Dammit! The filthy mudblood ran away." Avery complained.
"Forget about her, we can have our fun with Peverell." Mulciber reassured him.
Avery smiled as a response.
Both of them then stood in front of Alistair, pointing their wands at him. Alistair was in no condition to fight, because he was in pain due to the surprise attack but he didn't have choice. Alistair got into a dueling stance and prepared to face both of them by himself.
