The day after the dance, Marinette went out for her first patrol in a while. It was about 14h when she went out and most Parisians were excited to see her out and about for the first time in a while with no akuma. Ladybug was swinging across rooftops, letting the wind hit her face and enjoying her life.
"Bug," she heard Chat from about two meters away from her. She didn't know how she missed that he, her boyfriend, was that close to her. "Let's go up to the Eiffel Tower," he called, "I have to talk to you about some stuff."
"Sounds good." She immediately swung to the top rung of the Eiffel Tower where it could only be the two of them, and maybe a few of M. Ramier's pigeons. Chat joined her a few moments after she arrived.
"What do you need to talk about, Adrien?" She had a smile on her face when she casually dropped his name. He was so wrapped up in his own head that he didn't even notice. She thought that maybe it was because he was sincere about not wanting to be Adrien anymore, so she changed tactics.
"My girlfriend, her best friend, and I think her best friend's boyfriend figured out my identity." He sighed, not sure how he was supposed to feel about the fact that he prioritized keeping his Marinette safe over his own identity.
"Is this because you were Félix and Chat at the dance, then you told Marinette that your M. Bell was actually the one and only Gabriel Agreste?" He nodded. He still didn't fully register her words and the fact that Ladybug, as an outsider, shouldn't have known what was going on.
"I'm so sorry for messing up, Bug. I understand if you need to take away my Miraculous after that. It was super irresponsible."
"It's okay, Félix. Everything is going to be fine. Would it help if I told you a secret of my own?" She leaned her face into the palm of her hand and looked at him, curious if he would take her up on the offer, or figure it out for himself.
"I don't know why it would help me, but I guess I'm not going to stop you."
"I'm your girlfriend, Félix. I'm Marinette. Do you want a hug?" She opened her arms toward him in addition to the verbal offer. He nodded and they shared a hug while he thought through everything she had said since they landed. "Papa wants to know if you're coming over tomorrow. To open the bakery, to have dinner, to stay forever. He's really down for any of it."
He let out a few wet chuckles and felt a few tears spill from his eyes at the acceptance from Tom. "What does Sabine think?"
"She's loved you for as long as she's known you. We want you around as long as you want to be there. I haven't told them about either of our identities, but you're allowed to tell them who you are, or were if you want to."
"I love you," he told her in response. "I'll be there tomorrow to open." He placed a hand on her cheek. "May I?" She nodded and they softly shared a kiss atop the Eiffel Tower.
He went home after that, he was scheduled to have a Mandarin lesson at 3. Ladybug found an alley to detransform in. She dialed a number in her phone. "We're going on an adventure. Meet me on the Champs-Elysees," she said immediately when the call was answered.
"Sounds good to me. I'll be there in 10 minutes, maybe 15." The person on the other line hung up.
12.5 minutes later, Alya showed up. Nino was trailing a few metres behind her. "You can only be here if you can keep a secret," Marinette said to him immediately, "from everyone." He nodded. Marinette turned to Alya, "does he know?" Alya nodded.
"I couldn't keep it from him after last night. He knows everything I do." Marinette nodded before explaining the purpose of their adventure.
They were out until 17h that evening, then the two of them joined Marinette and her parents for dinner. They accomplished everything that Marinette had planned for that day and she was excited to go home and tell her parents about her plan as well.
Everyone was excited for her plan.
Marinette could barely fall asleep that night, but at 3h30, she woke up to her alarm. She put on a pink, knee length dress and put on some makeup. Alya and Nino had both spent the night and each woke up at about 4h to get ready for Félix's first official shift in the bakery since they learned the truth.
All five of them arrived downstairs at 4h30 in preparation for Félix to arrive at 4h40. He let himself in with the spare key that Tom and Sabine had given him and showed up exactly when they expected him to. He picked up his apron and put it on before he turned around and looked around the kitchen for the first time that morning.
The first thing he noticed about the kitchen that morning was his girlfriend. The second thing he noticed was the ring in her hand. She was down on one knee.
"Félix Minou Cloche. You've been my partner and best friend for the last 4 years and I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me and all the memories we've made together. You're my favorite person and I don't even want to consider a life you're not in. Nothing would make me happier than you being mine. Will you Mari me in 45 days on my 18th birthday as soon as the courthouse opens?" Marinette was crying by the time she got the question out.
He was crying, too. He extended a hand to lift her, knowing their normal height difference was plenty. "Yes, princess," he responded, trying to not break down sobbing in the middle of the bakery's kitchen. "Yes, yes, yes. Of course." She slid the ring onto his hand and he cupped her cheeks before he leaned down to give her a long kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he lifted her up to hold her in his arms.
A few days later, Chat Noir asked Ladybug to meowry him in the unspecified future on the top of the Eiffel Tower. The proposal was filmed by Rena Rouge and sent to Alya to be posted on the Ladyblog.
