Chapter 2: Occurrences of monsters
Lee Everett took a rest in the woods, outside the Travelier Motel in Macon, Georgia. He begins to be on a look out.
Lee took a rest in the woods, outside the house in Atlanta, Georgia. He begins in his studies, flourished by the laughter and cheering of two children, Alisha and Emma. Lee has many thoughts about his past. He has studied very hard, but not too recent at the University of Georgia, to determine the future of Georgia.
He now ponders his meeting 9 years ago with the old man named Radagast and the tale he told Lee about the One Ring of Power. Now he waits and Studies on what Radagast said about him and his friends experiencing this tale for themselves as they will live it. And somehow, Lee now feels that the time is drawing near for them.
The children went up to the study Lee, "hey, Uncle Lee, do you wish to play with us now?" Asked the children.
Lee opened his eyes and looked at his little visitors. "Are you playing ball again, Alisha and Emma?"
"Yes, Uncle Lee," said Emma.
Lee smiled and went with them. "Okay, then we shall play together, that we will," said Lee.
Inside the motel, A young woman in her mids 30s helping with the decorations, an 8 year old girl and a boy of 10 years of age continued coloring and drawing, a young teenage boy in his late teens. The door of the room opened revealing a very mustachioed man in his 40s. and a very Belgian-American beautiful woman in her early 40s. The woman carried a letter with her.
"Lilly, Clementine, Duck, we've just got this letter for you," said the woman.
"The letters are for us," said the woman in her mids 30.
"Hello Katjaa, Kenny," said the little girl with the hat with a letter D on it, her name is Clementins.
"Hi Mom, Hi Dad," said the boy hugging his parents, and his name is Kenny Jr. But his parents called him Duck.
"Hey, Lilly, how've you, the kids, and Ben been, heh," said the kids man named Kenny.
The teenage boy, Ben spoke, "we've been doing well as can be expected, Dad. So, you've brought a letter, huh, Mom? I will get Lee."
Katjaa began to speak, "how's Lee, these days, Lilly?"
"He seems to be okay Katjaa," said Lilly, "especially after helping out with the supplies. Its been a long time since that battle ended. And four weeks after we came back to Macon."
"and how's your dad doing, Lilly," asked Katjaa
"Well he's doing well, he's retired of the military,"
"Well, be happy, Lilly," said Katjaa. "Lee can finally call this place his home." Lilly had a moment of silence to think about what Christa said.
"…Yes, Katjaa you're right!" Lilly sighed with a cheery smile.
" There's something else isn't that right Lilly?" asked Katjaa. "You still haven't admitted your feelings for him, have you?"
"Well, Katjaa," started Lilly. "Lee hasn't admitted his feelings for me either, if he really has them of course. We can also relax that Doug's no longer after Lee for the title of the strongest. I wonder how's he and Carley doing in Atlanta these days?"
"That's a funny thing, missie," started Kenny. "Because this letter's from Macon. I've been thinking about Carley and Doug and the others at the store myself." Clementine was enlightened to hear where the letter came from.
Duck came back with Lee. "Christa, Kenny," said Lee, "you've come with a letter now, have you?"
"Yeah, Lee," said Kenny. "It's from our buddies at the pharmacy store."
"Oh, is it now?" Lee said as Katjaa handed him the letter. Lee opened the letter and read it aloud:
Dear Lee, Lilly and the others at the,
Me and Doug are doing fine. We hope you are doing well also.
Well, anyway, your dad's' birthday is coming up and we're all trying to keep it a surprise for him as best as we can. So, I'm inviting all of you guys to come to the party. I hope Mark will be there as well. It's on September 1. So I'm expecting to see, you Lee, you hear? You too, Lilly, Clementine, Duck, Katjaa, and of course, Kenny.
With best wishes,
Carley, Doug, and everyone at the pharmacy store…
"This is truly wonderful, that it is," said Lee.
"Wow!" spoke Ben, "the old man's having a surprise party."
"The surprise Carley and Doug has for my dad must really be explosive indeed," Lilly said sheepishly.
"Carley must think Doug to be real special to her indeed," spoke Christa.
"Yes he is, Christa," explained Lee, "she told me so, from the first night we met, that she did.
"Still your old scheming self, aren't you Christa?" said Lilly with a sheepish grin.
"Well, you know me, Lilly," said Christa.
"Yeah," interjected Kenny. "We know, you're a scheming fox lady."
"Yeah, well look who's talking you big dope." The two got into an argument…
"Fox!"
"Rooster!"
"Fox!"
"Rooster head!"
"Fox lady!"
they went through the city. The group decided to stay at the motel, the beef pot restaurant that nearly shares the namesake of in their hometown in Macon, to throw off suspicion towards Lee's Dad, the old man at the pharmacy Store. Lee sent Doug and Carley a letter to meet them at the pharmacy store when they arrive. They arrived at the meeting place in question, and saw Carley and Doug waving at them…
"Lee, Lilly, Clementine, over here you guys," said Carley. Carley was 30 years old.
Doug was 30 years old.
Ben and Travis are in their late teens.
"It's nice to meet you again, Doug, Carley, Glenn, Ben, Travis," greeted Lee
"Same here, Lee.
"Nice to see you two too," said Christa, "I take it Mark's still at the Air force again, isn't he?"
"Yeah," Carley answered sadly, "I don't see how he can still have many regrets about his past. I say he should just be happy."
"Carley," interjected Lee, "you really mustn't be so hard on Douh, that you shouldn't." Carley wished she could believe Lee.
Lee continued, "you must have patience. Give him all the time in the world. Someday, I believe he will certainly come to terms with himself, that I do." Lee smiled his usual smile to Carley.
"Anyway," said Lilly, "let's all catch up on old times, Carley. That's what we're here to do, isn't it?"
Duck finally regained her wits, "yeah, you're right, Lilly. After all, I want to have some fun, don't I?" The group went inside the restaurant.
Lee went to get a present for his dad, since he helped Lee at his own store. Unexpectedly, during his window shopping, he senses a presence. It was someone, whom Lee least expected to see.
"It's been a while, Larry," Lee said with displeasure.
It was an old man in his late 50s, who retired from the military.
The old man called Larry spoke to Lee, "So Lee, do you really care for my daughter Lilly."
"Yeah, I do really love your daughter," said Lee.
"Yes. My, how fate always seems to bring us together doesn't it? I spotted you and your friends since this afternoon, Lee." assured Larry.
"I knew somehow that you survived the accident on the highway, that I did. If you've come to settle the score with me, I'm afraid I don't have the time. I'm shopping for my dad's birthday, tomorrow," stated Lee.
"Don't be hasty. Feel free to shop for the old man's birthday if that's what you want to do. I'm here on military business, as usual," assured Larry.
the retired soldier, that I have. No doubt, you can tell me about it," said Lee.
Larry gave a humph to Lee and began informing his long time adversary, "just so you know, there have been reports of strange monsters in this area." This caught Lee's attention…
Back at the Motel, the Children played outside while Carley talked with Lilly and the others. "Walkers, Carley? When did this all happen?"
"Two days ago," she said and continued, "we've been informed by messenger pigeons from all over Macon. Strange occurrences of troll-like demon monsters have so far, been outside Macon, thank goodness. They've been prowling out in the woods. These occurrences have been happening at night basically, never in the daytime. They were also seen on what seems to be giant, dog-like creatures."
Everyone was speechless and surprised at the information Doug spoke of…
Larry continued, "these occurrences never take place when its light out apparently, only at night. It's enough to make you think they're vampires or something."
"It must be something that's even worse than talk of vampires, that it is."
"And whatever it is," another person spoke out of nowhere, "I wish to see that it doesn't happen here in Macon." It was another man, in his 30s, with brown short hair with.
"Doug," said Lee. "So, you've been investigating these occurrences as well?" Lee asked him.
The man named Doug spoke to Lee, "indeed."
"Well," smirked Lafft, "isn't this one big get together we're all having."
Doug continued, "I was able to track the appearances of these monsters. I followed the tracks up to the vicinity of the former hideout of an old house."
Lee frowned, "I hope it's not nobody behind these monsters."
"Let's hope it isn't," said Larry.
"By the way," interjected Doug, "I found…"
"Doug was able to find a piece of cloth at where the occurrences originate," said Carley. He got out a picture of what Doug found. It was a cloth with a hand printed on top of it.
"A white hand?" asked Ben.
"Yes," answered Doug, "it was a black piece of cloth with nothing but this hand on it. Sounds a bit creepy, if you ask me…"
"A white hand. This is a mystery to all of us Doug, that it is," said Lee as Doug gave the cloth with the hand to .
"Indeed," said Larry, "you found this at an old house, you say?"
"Yes, Larry," said Doug, "it sounds as if it's another plot to take over this country, like Atlanta."
Lee started to walk away from Doug and Larry. "Listen, you two can check it out. I'm still shopping for My Dad's birthday, that I am. Carley hopes you can be there, Doug. I'll tell her I ran into you, okay?"
"I still don't know if I'll make it. But I'll try to be there if I can. I still want to drink some tea with you, though," said Doug as Lee parted.
Lee returned to the store with a package in his hands. "Hello, I'm back," said Lee. "So, caught up on old times?"
"That and more, Lee," said Kenny and continued, "Carley told us about strange occurrences of monsters that have been happening for two days."
"I know, Kenny," said Lee. "I bumped into Larry and Doug while I was shopping." Kenny was surprised and somehow annoyed that Larry was still alive…
Lee went on, "thanks to them, I have the whole gist of the situation. They're going to search the area where the occurrences Doug believes originated." Lee's remark left determined faces upon his friends, even Carley.
"Do you two still plan to have the party tomorrow, Carley?" Lee asked, "Doug said he would be there if he can."
"Of course Lee, I'm not about to let a few scare of monsters disturb our plans. And besides, I know that Doug can take care of himself," said Carley as she winked.
"Well, it's been fine guys, see you tomorrow."
"Bye, Carley, "everyone said.
It was night. Lee decided to take watch outside the back, in case there's such an attack that is bound to happen. In the woods, near the camp, Larry and Doug approached cautiously through the area.
"This is where I found the tracks were leading to," said Doug.
"It looks like you're right. I'm starting to feel a presence here. A very evil presence," noted Larry.
Suddenly, the two heard distinct growling. They were trying to find out where it was coming from. The growling got louder and louder each moment that passes. They drew their swords in defense, as a form in a large, horse-like dog, appeared from the darkness. Doug and Larry gasped at the sight of it…
The creature that mounted it was a small, demon-like creature with a club. The creature charged at them. Larry and Doug, with gun and Axe at the ready, posed in their fighting stances.
More of these dog creatures came out of the darkness, and then…
…From far away…
Lee senses the battle-taking place, a battle that may end up in disaster. Lee may yet realize that the future events told to him by Radagast the Brown are starting to come to pass…
