AAOTD: Hey! I take offense to that! Amon's a wuss!
Disclaimer: Whoever said, or even suggested I own Naruto is a big (place insult here). I do not own Naruto, even if I am a god. Dess.
He didn't want to let go, because if he did then it meant that she was really gone, that she really had left him.
His comrades were urging him to leave her body behind, that it was too late to save her and he would only get everyone else killed. He already knew that now wasn't the time or place to mourn, during the middle of an all out war or behind enemy lines, but all logic had left him whenever it came to Hinata. Their time together was over before it had even begun.
The chilling rain soaked him, numbing him to the bone. If only it could numb the pain, the loneliness, the abandonment that he felt, then he could continue to be a ninja instead of being a man.
It was just so unfair!
Naruto roared, his fox form unleashing and surrounding his body.
They would pay. They would all pay for every scratch, every bruise, every mark on Hinata's mutilated body. The only reason why he had recognized her was because of the torn, blood stained flower she had pinned onto her uniform for luck.
His anger was unrestrained, uncontrollable, he fell into a deadly berserker mode. His retreating comrades avoided him and his thrashing tails. His long reach charka claws gave a painful yet quick end to all those unfortunate enough to cross his path. The numerous bodies of both friends and foes littered the trail behind him.
He was blinded, rage, sorrow, loss and pain drove him to madness and beyond. A red rain fell over the once beautiful flower field. Naruto was covered in crimson, bathed in the blood of everyone. His animalistic side bubbled to the surface, the incarnation of the nine tailed fox and wrath combined together. There would be no stopping him now.
Hinata.
She never wanted anything bad to happen, she fought to protect and now she was dead and now he was alone and now he was suffering! It was her fault. He had undone everything that she worked for in life.
The crimson fox cried out his pain, decimating the area around him and creating a vast crater. His tails whipped around wildly, scarring the land forevermore and uprooting any forms of life it touched, throwing it up into the air. Bodies crashed back onto the smoldering ground, covering the crater and filling it up. The ground was soaked in rain and blood, the uprooted flowers fluttered away into the wind and away from the violence.
Something caught the enraged blonde's eye. Floating, gliding down was the special flower that he had given Hinata, the one that would never wilt away until the receiver and sender of the pure white flower was dead.
His anger dissolved, the fox form faded away and was leashed once more as Naruto caught the all too precious flower in his open hand.
He turned to look at Hinata's body. He loved her so much. He took unsteady steps towards her, weakened by his berserker state, stumbling as weapons pierced his already too worn out body. He dropped down next to her, crawling so he could touch her hand.
The symbol of their love was clutched in his hand as he tried to reach out towards her. He couldn't hold her, he was too tired and weak.
The once innocent, snow white flower now drenched in crimson was in both of their hands.
The last thing Naruto ever saw was the image of their entwined hands, showing off their pure love.
