Greg walked Sara out to her car every night. It was inevitable. They'd come in around the same time, work their case, maybe catch a bad guy or two, and when it was time for them to go home, Greg always walked Sara to her car.

This time it was dark out in the parking lot, even in the daytime. The cloud cover made it seem like it was night. The clouds were supposedly holding tons of rain, but the flash flood warnings hadn't held any merit all weekend long.

Sara continued talking about the case they were working on while she dug for her keys in her bag. She thinks she's found it when Greg pushes her up against her car door. He didn't push her hard, but she can hear herself give a little gasp anyway. Her eyes widen as he presses himself into her and she slowly takes her hand from her purse; feeling her eyebrows raising and her lips pursing.

Sara sees Greg close his eyes and she's wondering what in the hell he's doing – he's pushing his body up against hers even more, causing her back to hit the door handle.

Then he kisses her.

It's soft and gentle, just like Sara thought kissing Greg would be like. It's a complete contrast to the aggressive behavior he just showed her, pushing her up against the car.

Sara feels her bag drop out of her hands, but she's not registering anything as she brings her arms to wrap around Greg's shoulders and he deepens their kiss.

Greg puts his arms on either side of Sara, trapping her against him and against the car, but she doesn't feel trapped. She relishes the feeling of his whole weight against her.

Then Greg breaks the kiss. Sara monetarily panics, but then simply tightens her arms around his shoulders and Greg brings his lips crashing back down onto hers.

Greg's tongue is inside Sara's mouth in one fluid movement. Sara can feel her whole body come awake with surprise at their new level of intimacy – and at the rain pouring down as the clouds open up.

As the rain continues to fall, Greg gently breaks their kiss. Sara's mind instantly starts working overtime.

What is he doing? Why is he doing this? Why is he doing it now, in the parking lot, where anyone could walk by and see them?

Sara is momentarily distracted by Greg kissing one corner of her mouth, then the other.

What is the protocol for this? Sara's his mentor, his supervisor. They can't kiss. They can't date.

Sara's mind continues to race as Greg removes his hands from the car and brings them to her hair. He kisses both her eyelids, the tip of her nose, and then he starts making his way up her neck.

Then he stops.

"Sara?" Greg asks, pulling away. "Stop thinking," Greg tells her, laughing.

And when Greg brings his lips down to meet Sara's for the third time, she does.
