This has been sitting on my computer since before September 2005, so I'm posting it.
It's super short, sorry.
I thought the ending of Spirited Away was really bittersweet. I mean, what happens to Haku? Do they ever see each other again? So I wrote this.
Read, enjoy, review!

The surroundings ruffled pleasantly in the breeze. The wind tickled the leaves and danced through the lush, green grass, darted between trees, and laughed over flowing water. Thewind ran through the forest, stirring dirt and plant alike, and was parted; running into a small moss-covered statue, breaking like a wave against the red plaster walls of an abandoned entryway.
Ayoung woman was sitting against the moss-covered statue, watching the long, tunneling archway with a faraway look in her dark brown eyes. Her hair, longer than it was her last time here, moved gracefully in the wind.
He had promised. He had promised that they would see each other. He said he would quit his apprenticeship... What if Yubaba hadn't let him? What if she refused to release him? Yubaba had lost her control over Haku when she squashed the black bug, but... Yubaba was persistent, and she never played fair.
What if Haku did leave? He said he would return to his world... Was that here in the human world, in her world? What if he couldn't reach her... What if he couldn't find her?
Chihiro bit her bottom lip, shrinking back against the statue. She had waited so long. She wanted to see him again. A thought crossed her mind.
Will I always be waiting?
She lifted her head, eyes focusing on the glimmer of sunlight at the end of the tunnel. Was it too late for her to try and return to the Spirit world? She stood up. She has always wondered what would happen if she did. Would she be captured again? Lose her name? And if she did go back, would she be as lucky as the last time? What if she never made it back home again?
Chihiro stood up, her lips pressed into a thin line.
It doesn't matter.
She had waited too long, and dwelled on what if's for the last time. She needed to know. She needed to know now.
