It was early morning, and for once I was awake at the ungodly hour, as how I see it. This time I actually wanted to get things together and get things done this morning. First things first, I gotta wake up my team. I got up and took a shower and dried myself off. I then got dressed and proceeded to wake Natalia and Kraken.
"Come on you two, it's time to wake up." I say gently.
They both comply with my soft awakening of them both and get up. Natalia takes a shower and dries herself off in the bathroom. She then got out of the bathroom and got dressed. Kraken went in to just wash up. I looked over to Sai, who was still asleep, I quietly went over to his bed and gently tried to wake him up.
"Sai, it's time to get up." I say as gently as before.
"Dude, give me 15 more minutes." He said sleepily.
"Sai, come on. We need to get things organized in here." I say slightly more aggravated.
"My sleep is more important than organizing a stupid dorm room." He said, going back to sleep.
I sighed and went to the bathroom to fill a bucket up with water. Once I did that, I returned to the room, with bucket in hand. Kraken and Natalia stepped back as I lifted the bucket over my head.
"I do recall myself saying that it's time to get the hell up!" I started from calmly agitated to blustering anger as I dumped the water on him, making him scuffle around on his bed.
Once he was up and dressed, he looked at me with a blank, yet violent stare.
"You are one sick, sadistic bastard." He said in a monotone voice.
"That much could be said about you." I said, clapping my hands twice. "Alright, let's get started. Whatever you want, put over to the corner on my right. Whatever you want to have replaced, leave it in its current spot." I ordered. "I'll start." I set my bed ablaze.
"There was a point to this, right?" Sai asked.
"I'm the one replacing the beds, so destroy them however you choose." I said, with a smile on my face.
"Oh, Okay." Sai said, blowing his bed up with a rocket launcher.
Natalia sliced her bed to pieces. Kraken smashed his bed. A few of my butlers came in and removed the ashes and pieces of the beds. they bought in tempurpedic beds for all of us. As they assembled them, my friends looked at them in awe as to how fast they were going. Once they were done and were about to take their leave, I paid them for their hard work. They all laid down on their new beds and they all let out a sigh of comfort.
"Dude, these beds are amazing." Sai said gleefully.
"You continue to surprise us all the time, Damion." Natalia said, smiling at me.
"The fact that you've even done this for us, especially me and Natalia, two people you don't even know is amazing in itself." Kraken said, with great appreciation.
"I'm all for the people." I said, humbly bowing.
"Now we just need to set up our stuff before class. Shouldn't take too long." Sai said.
"Still, we should hurry. Class is in about 20 minutes." Kraken adds
"We'll make it in time." I say casually.
"I'm just puting the finishing touches on my stuff." Sai said, surprisingly already having a few posters, a wardrobe and what looked like a small armory set up.
"Someone certainly knows how to unpack." Natalia said as she set up a few bedside decorations.
"I like making sure I feel at home." He answered.
I put up some of my guitars and some of my CD's. "Touch these, you die." I say darkly.
"I have plenty of my own tunes." Sai said quickly.
Natalia looks at my music and scoffs. "Not my style." She said, hanging up a Huntsman poster.
"I'm not that big on music." Kraken explained as he set up his stuff.
Sai then pulled out a piece of paper. "It looks like our first class in the study of Grimm with Professor Port. I don't know why, but I don't really think any of us will like him. He seems like the guy who just keeps rambling on and is way too full of himself." He said.
I look at Sai quickly. "Reminds me of someone I know." I say coldly.
"I'm toning it down a bit..." He said, almost sounding hurt.
"We should go now. Class starts in 10 minutes." Kraken said.
"Plenty of time to get there without having to rush." Natalia said.
"The others better hurry up, too, if they want to make it on time." Sai said as we left.
Sure enough, we easily reached the classroom on time and took our seats with teams RWBY, JNPR and SUSN arriving just before the bell rang.
"See? We made it." I say without care.
"Yeah. I was too on edge." Kraken said.
"Now let's see what this guy has to say." Natalia says.
Sadly, Sai was right. Port did seem like the guy who held himself up WAY too high. And the way he boasted really didn't help. "Monsters, demons, prowlers of the night! Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names. But I merely refer to them as prey." He said.
"So far, nothing good." Sai said.
I simply kicked my feet up onto my desk and laid back, with my hands behind my head. "This is going to be a bore fest..." I said, closing my eyes.
"Good thing I'm always prepared for things like this." Sai said, closing his eyes and painting over his eyelids, making it look like he's awake when he's really sleeping.
"I have a feeling we're only gonna hear about him in this class." Kraken said.
"Great." Natalia groaned, clearly annoyed.
"And you shall too, upon graduation from this prestigious academy! Vale, as well as the other 3 kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world. Our planet is absolutely TEEMING with creatures, that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces." He continued.
"Sounds like Tuesday for us." Sai said, nudging me with his elbow.
"Not now, man." I sighed.
He nodded, but didn't verbally respond.
"And that's where we come in. Huntsman! Huntresses." He said, pausing to click his tongue at Yang, who let out a groan of disgust.
"I think he's trying to hit on your girlfriend." Kraken said.
My eye twitches and my neck cracks slightly.
"Easy, man. It's not worth it." Sai tried to calm me down, though he was clearly nervous about doing so.
"I'm gonna spit roast his fat ass." I said, gaining a dark aura around me.
"It's not worth it. Don't get kicked out of school for it." Kraken said.
"Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves. From what you ask?" He paused.
"I assume you'll tell us." Natalia said.
"Why, from the very world!" He said, waiting for a reaction again, but it never came, except one random student who is never seen again in the show. "That is what you are training to become." He continued.
"We're already well trained enough." I say, with my fist clenched, thinking of all the ways I could hurt him.
"But first, a story. The tale of a young, handsome man. Me!" He said again, to which my whole team groaned.
"I feel like this is just another reason for him to boast." Kraken said.
"We should be learning about the Grimm. Not this fat fool." Natalia growled.
"Well, whining won't make it go by any faster. Too bad." Sai said.
"It damn sure won't." I say, calming down slightly.
"A true hunstman must be honorable." Port said, Ruby making a silly face, balancing a pencil on one finger and crossing her eyes, Weiss getting angrier at her display. "A true huntsman must be dependable." He continued, Ruby sleeping and Weiss getting even more pissed. "A TRUE huntsman must be strategic, well-educated and wise!" He finished, Ruby picking her nose and Weiss becoming FURIOUS. "So, who among you believes yourself to be the embodiments of these traits?" He asked.
"I do, sir!" Weiss said, shooting her hand into the air.
"Suuure." Sai said, rolling his eyes.
"Well, by the sound of it, we have TWO volunteers. How exciting!" Port laughed.
"Wait, wha-?" Sai asked, snapping to attention.
"Sai, I want to take care of this." I said, wanting to upstage Weiss.
"Are you sure? Okay then." Sai said, watching with great interest.
I then get up from my seat and jump in front of Port's desk. "Make your work quick Schnee, I've got a busy schedule to keep." I said, cracking my neck.
She huffs and takes position as Port releases the first Boarbetusk. She is surprised by its near instant charge, but manages to deflect it. "Haha! Weren't expecting that, were you?" He asked.
"She wasn't ready. That was sloppy." Kraken sais.
"She was lucky to stop that." Sai agreed
"Step your game up, Schnee." I said, uncaringly.
The two opponents rushed at each other, the boar charging and Weiss gliding across the ground towards it, but then shockingly, the boarbetusk maneuvered its head and manage to trap Weiss' rapier behind its tusks. "Oh, a bold new approach. I like it!" Port said.
"I don't." Sai said flatly.
"She's not concentrating. She's just forcing all her anger towards Ruby at the Boarbetusk." Natalia said.
"And you NEVER fight with anger alone." Kraken said.
"I'll steal a line from Yang: I'm getting bored here." I say, cocking a grin. Yang giggled after I said that.
Weiss looked up quickly to see the boar charge again, but she rolled out of the way, causing it to hit the desk my team was at and fall to the ground on its side, giving her enough time to run and grab her weapon once again. "Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath!" Ruby said helpfully.
"Stop telling me what to do!" Weiss snapped.
"Stop tryin' to block her out and listen to your leader." I say, yawning afterward.
"I was about to say: 'that's a leader's job.'" Sai agreed.
"Weiss just thinks she's better than everyone and can do everything on her own." Kraken said.
"In other words: she's a bitch." Natalia said with a smirk, Sai bursting out in laughter.
The boarbetusk then roared and rolled into a ball, wheeling its way towards the angry heiress. She then created a glyph in front of it to knock it onto its back and one in the air behind her. She did a jumping backflip to land on the glyph and launched herself at the downed boar, impaling it and finishing it off, panting heavily.
"Bravo! Bravo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true huntress in training." Port said, then looked at me. "Well, Mr. Castro, do you think you can beat that?" He asked.
"Think?" I say, getting off his desk and stepping to the center of the classroom. "Bring it on." I say, ready to end this quickly.
"You've got this, Damion!" Sai called out.
"No contest." Kraken said.
"Prove you deserve to be our leader!" Natalia cheered.
"Not even taking a combat stance? An interesting approach." Port said as he released the second Boarbetusk, which barreled towards me.
Once it was within my reach, I axe kicked it in its head, causing it to front flip onto its back. I then grabbed it by its right tusk and lifted it off the ground. "Disappointing." I say, straightening my free hand as if to make a blade, then shortly after, I plunged my hand into its stomach.
"Damn, Alucard style." Sai said approvingly.
"Impressive." Kraken said, nodding in approval.
"That was literally perfectly." Natalia said.
"MARVELOUS! I've NEVER seen anyone deal with the Grimm like THAT before!" Port said loudly in approval. Weiss looked absolutely pissed. Both at me and Ruby.
I rip my hand out of the Boarbatusk's stomach and simply throw it aside. "Easier than getting caught off guard." I say, slashing the air to clean the Boarbatusk's blood off of my hand.
She growls and storms out of the room as soon as the bell rings. "FINALLY." Sai said in a relieved tone.
"All we learned today is our teacher is a pompous, arrogant perv." Kraken said, getting up along with Sai and Natalia.
"If he ever clicks his tongue at me, I'm slicing it out." She said.
"Have I ever mentioned how awesome you are?" Sai asked as they waited for me near the door.
"Jeez you sound like a fangirl." I say as I walk out the door and my team follows me in tow. "So what do we have next?" I ask.
"Think we should tell Weiss to back off Ruby?" Sai asked.
"I think it'd be best to let them sort that out themselves." Natalia said.
"My words exactly, Natalia. Very well said." I say as we walk down the hall.
"Thank you." She said.
We ran through the last of our classes and finally returned to our dorms for the night, laying dorm on our respective beds. "Not bad for our first day, huh?" Sai asked.
"The only bad part was having to listen to Port's story." Kraken said.
"Hopefully tomorrow, classes will be a little more bearable." Natalia said.
"Honestly, I highly doubt that they will be any more bearable than they were today." I say getting ready to go to bed.
"Then we'll just sleep through class." Sai suggested.
"I don't think any of us like to slack off like you do, Sai. We'll leave the sleeping to you." I said, going to the bathroom and taking a shower.
Everyone else went to sleep. While I was in the shower, I thought about my past life as an assassin. I wanted to rid my past for awhile, but I know someday soon...It'll catch up to me...I'll just have to be ready to face it again when the time comes...I have to become stronger. I got out the shower, dried myself off and got dressed. I exited the bathroom and laid down on my bed and quickly fell asleep. Another day that's gone by in a flash.
