-Chapter 5: The Realm of Gods-
AN: I've made a full chapter this time. It's a bit hard for me to think like I'm Hitogami but I think this represents how he would see things decently well. This should result in things become more equal on a power-scaling level. Most reincarnation stories make the main character too powerful and all that, Rudeus easily could've headed down that path in this story but that shouldn't be the case now! Be ready to absorb a lot of information at once. Anyways, enjoy!
-Hitogami POV-
It looks like things are going according to plan. Experiment: NEET is going well. Nesura sent over that earthling so we can farm better mana for the other gods. I don't know exactly how removing mana helps in her research but it's fine if it doesn't interfere with my world in a negative way. The earthling's soul had a great amount of mana I would use but she wanted to test if this new experiment works where the soul is transferred into a different race's body. At the very least it has worked in the past to put a soul into a different body. She also seems to have been able to send someone with their body which didn't help produce more mana. In other words: a failure. I've done as requested and put the earthling in a very different race's body along with another troublesome soul. She wants to see if the soul will reject a soul that isn't particularly fond of mana as well as with a different body. The technique "god" was of course perfect for this. They inherit from a completely different race, and they don't possess a large mana capacity. My only worry is of this individual becoming troublesome later but maintaining the other god's trust is more important for now.
I was able to survive their antics up to this point, but they appear to be training as I have worried. Luckily, I have been given a way to siphon some of their mana to be used by the other gods. It's annoying having to deal with all these gods. At least I'm not forced to take down groups of gods anymore… Depending on how this experiment goes I may have an even more troublesome time dealing with them. Maybe I'll use them to stage a coup on these other gods. I'm confident in my abilities to manipulate the fools in my world. At the very least once Orsted's loop comes, I won't have to worry about any effects brought upon the six-sided-world during the experiment. Even though that's the very reason they're making my world the experiment…
When I decided to become a god, I didn't expect to have to deal with more than the already present six gods. I was such a fool to think it was only those six. Why couldn't it have just been them? Irritating! And that's not even the least of it! They've punished me with solitude in this stupid white world for thousands upon thousands of years!? Sigh… What I would do to be back their again. Sadly, the time travel magics that the earthling and Orsted have used only apply within the six-sided-world. That's just how it goes… The gods enveloped my world with mana so they would experiment on these souls… and use the results for themselves. If I'd only become a god the normal way, I could've just had a normal world without all these crazy experiments. Well, at least I got some kicks out of it. Orsted's loops were getting quite boring, the only difference in each loop was some small thing he did here and there to try and kill me. I do keep him alive for a reason though, and that's because these other gods want me to. What will they use my world for next? Are they going to send more weird souls like the NEET? That would be entertaining at least. In that way I'm happy for this new experiment. It adds a new quality to my endeavors while also complying with these other gods wishes.
It's about time to send Nesura her information on the experiment. The experiment hasn't done much in the way of anything interesting on the surface. On the aspects of their internal soul then I can see some noteworthy stuff. It appears the Technique god is working to get me killed again, no surprise there. I should mention to Nesura that he is acting like he was before the separation experiment. Does the new soul type have restorative properties? That could be useful to me. It means I can do what I did again. I just adored that reaction to being torn in two… Good memories. Back then I thought I would be satisfied with the entertainment they provided me.
Time to get back on track. I'll put down that he is progressing normally, the earthling's soul has brought back some of the memories of the technique god back somehow, further investigation required for experiment NEET. Should it even be called experiment NEET anymore? The individual's character has changed and no longer represent the characteristics of a NEET. Besides that, we're adding more variables into the experiment. I'll just suggest that we change the experiment name now that things are changing… done. Just gotta send this over. Let's see… who to be the messenger? I'll just use the next soul to come here.
-a little while later-
Here we are. Someone to send the information with. I just gotta engrain them with the information. Torturous agonies as I put it in. As always. Reincarnation into earth underway… done. We gods communicate by putting information into souls and reincarnating them in the other's world. A soul can hold a lot of information and can also be transported between worlds easily. We could also send the info with pure mana but that costs a lot more mana than just engraining it into a soul. We typically limit the amount of mana a mortal can use while they're alive. Wouldn't want a bunch of idiots blowing up mountains, would we? Instead of this we make them pile up mana until they inevitably die and then use them for various purposes. In this case a messaging tool. They will make the journey with a mana shipment to Nesura's world.
I send mana shipments out around every fifty years. Most souls are sent during these shipments, but I like to keep a few that intrigue me. Some have found out how to bypass this shipment with reincarnation. Some we use for various experiments like the NEET one. Granted that experiment tests a whole new kind of soul, so it may also classify under one of the other categories depending on how things develop. The current mana shipments are going to Nesura and Molio. Nesura will use it for various experiments on Earth or something of the like. Molio will make more weapons for us gods to use. In the past he has made planet-sized mana swords and even bigger mana nukes designed based off Nesura's world's weapons. I've never been able to get my hands on one of those nukes personally, it can destroy whole solar systems and the others don't trust me with that kind of power yet. Maybe they'll let me after complying to this experiment? I'll have to see this all the way through.
I need to gain the other's trust if I want my plan to go smoothly. For gods you need to be nice and obedient for a long time to gain their trust. Unlike these foolish souls who trust me after only a few sweet words. At least the sweet words worked on most, they didn't work on the new soul after a short amount of time. The first time he didn't trust me was the travel to Begaritt and then there was the stinking time traveling old man! Just like with Orsted's looping I got to see both the time traveler's time and then he reversed the world's state back to when he was young. Luckily, I got a good hit on him before he could do it, so he didn't survive for long. I'll give him credit for all the entertainment he provided me or the entertainment he may provide in the future. I do hope that this new experiment yields something just as interesting. One of my other most entertaining victims is this one! They came out of the soul splitting experiment. I got incredible results out of that experiment, not many lose their mind and then cause a war because of it. It's too bad that the three god slayers killed the demon "god". It delayed the entertainment that the soul, or half a soul, will provide me.
I need to come up with an entertaining spot to put them. Now that Pax has been dealt with, I don't have to keep up the illusion of me being affected by Orsted's looping. Granted I probably could have changed what I do with the demon "god" because of the experiment's effects on the world. It was a great risk to implement the mana calamity. It's nice to know that Orsted is confident enough in his looping ability to not gain troublesome doubts. Anyways, I just got to figure out where to put him… I should keep him far away from the NEET experiment. I don't know how long he will survive being near the Rudo mercenaries and even more so the NEET himself. I know how to deal with the Technique god so he's not a problem, but if the new soul type dies then Nesura will get mad at me and make my plans that much harder.
I could put him somewhere on the demon continent. He'll be familiar with the area, and he should be able to get Atoferatofe Rybak to his side. That'll give him some influence. He should be able to manipulate some of the Rudo mercenaries with her influence. He knows how to manipulate people and that'll be of great use to me. Besides that, I can see how things play out for him… and it looks quite entertaining.
