A/N: Quick heads, this is an AU universe. In this universe, Ash kept Pidgeot, Primeape, Haunter, Squirtle, Lapras, and Goodra; but Greninja was released.

In the nice community of Pallet Town, there was a boy currently lying in bed.

This boy is none other than Ash Ketchum, the recent winner of the first ever Manalo League. He had just returned for the Alola region and visited Professor Oak after meeting with his mom.

What the Professor told him threw him in for a loop.

Ash and Pikachu sprinted up to the lab before opening the door. It was quiet as the boy and his starter entered.

"Professor?" the boy asked.

He heard muffling before noticing a living purple sludge smothering a person. While most people would freak out, Ash just sweat-dropped knowing that this was how one of his Pokémon showed his affection.

"Hey there, Muk!" Ash addressed the Sludge Pokémon. He noticed his trainer and stopped smothering the professor... before smothering his trainer. Now Ash was muffling before Oak recovered and assisted in prying of the Poison-type.

"Whew! Thanks Professor," Ketchum thanked.

"No problem my boy and congratulations on winning the Manalo Conference," Oak said which made the trainer smile.

"Yep! My first official league victory!" Ash cheered. Pikachu cheered too.

Ash couldn't help but remember all his other league attempts in the past.

In the Kanto League, his Charizard was disobedient and threw the match due to this. Ketchum cringed at that memory.

In the Johto League, Charizard was listening now but after three opponents in the row, the Flame Pokémon fell to Harrison's Blaziken.

In the Hoenn League, Pikachu put up a fight against Tyson's Meowth, meeting each other constantly before being defeated.

In the Sinnoh League, Sceptile and Pikachu were the MVPs of the match, being able to take down Tobias' Darkrai and Latios. Ash considered that one of the best matches during that point.

In the Unova League, again Pikachu put up a great fight against Cameron's Lucario but again lost. Ketchum, again, cringed at the memory.

In the Kalos League, that was the closest one he had won since Sinnoh. Greninja with his extraordinary form had Alain's Charizard on the ropes but lost, then Team Flare erupted and corrupted Squishy and Z2. Luckily, they came on top with the help of the Kalos Gym Leaders.

And now the Alola League, the first one ever, he won with the help of Lycanroc learning Counter against Gladion's Midnight Lycanroc. Then had the chance to battle the Masked Royal, who turned out to be Professor Kukui and used Tapu Koko.

"We've come a long way haven't we, Pikachu and Muk?" Ketchum asked his Pokémon, who nodded and cried, "Pika!/Muuuuuk!"

"Anyways, Professor Oak," Ash addressed, "Can I see my Pokémon?"

"Of course, Ash."

The regional professor led the Alola Champion into the corral where he was greeted with a familiar sight.

"Hey, Bulbasaur!"

The Kanto Grass starter turned his head and went starry eyes like when Ash's class went to Kanto. "Bulba!" The Seed Pokémon ran over before leaping up into his trainer's arms and nuzzled.

"Great to see you again, Bulbasaur!" Ash chuckled at his first Grass-type's affection. He broke out when he saw a nervous group of Pokémon nearby: an Oddish, Bellsprout, Foongus, Shroomish, Nidoran male, and Nidoran female.

Ash set Bulbasaur down and crouched to their level, "Hey, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you."

What he didn't see was how Bulbasaur and Oak flinch when Ash saw the Grass and Poison types.

The Oddish went first, slowly approaching the trainer. The Weed Pokémon shared a brief glance at the Seed Pokémon, who meekly nodded. Oddish then brushed up against the trainer's leg. Ash just chuckled and scratched behind the leaves, which made the Grass/Poison-type purr. The rest of the group soon appeared and soon displayed affection with Ketchum.

"Wow, you guys are really affectionate! Hope your trainer doesn't get jealous if they see me!" Ash joked before the gathered Pokémon tilted their heads in confusion. Ash saw their expressions, "... What is it?... Do you not have a trainer?"

"Ummm... Ash?" Professor Oak said, "... These are..."

"Professor?"

"Well..." Oak scratched his head, worried about how he would phrase the next sentence. "... they are your Pokémon."

Silence was present on the corral before Ash spoke up, "But I never caught these Pokémon."

"Well, technically you did not but at the same time you have," Oak said before explaining, "You see... when you leave your Pokémon here, they perform their usual behavior. But they have also been... breeding."

Silence appeared again until Ketchum replied, "Wait. So my Pokémon have..."

"Yes, Ash. Your Pokémon are parents in a way," Oak confirmed.

This blown Ash's mind. He had no idea that his Pokémon were parents. But he had to know, "Professor Oak, how many of my Pokémon are parents?"

"Well," Oak began, "About most of them. Your Gible, Scraggy, and Noivern are the only ones."

"How so? Aren't some of them... unevolved?" Ash asked.

"Well in a sense yes but at the same time, they have reached maturity in their base forms... well again most, your Oshawott has a habit of flirting with many females. He landed a few though."

Ash nodded along but was still processing this. True, Bulbasaur has been close to evolution for sometime, same with Oshawott, Snivy, Corphish, Totodile, and Buizel. His Pokémon were parents and he didn't even know about it. "What Pokémon have they been seen with?"

Oak thought for a moment before answering, "I can't remember which exactly how many but of the top of my head I know a few. Your Charizard, during your trip to Unova, brought home a Charmander. I've seen Pidgeot flying alongside a Spearow which I presume is hers. Squirtle has been seen with a Piplup, Kingler has an Omantye and Kabuto, Primeape has been teaching the ropes with a Passimian, Haunter is now joined with a Rotom, and Muk has smothered me with a Gulpin.

In your Tauros herd, I've seen multiple Pokémon like a Ponyta, Skiddo, Mudbray, and even a few Eevees; Lapras has a Spheal and Feebas offspring that I know of; Snorlax has been snoozing with a Cranidos; Heracross has a Pineco and Venipede; Bayleef has been mentoring a Tangela; Quilava has a Houndour and Sentret; Totodile has been dancing with a Lotad and Popplio; your Noctowl was with a Delibird and a Natu; Donphan likes to have dust-baths with a Sandshrew and Hippopotas.

Sceptile climbs trees with an Axew; Swellow flies with a Swablu and Wingull; Corphish has been swimming with a Clauncher and Tirtouga; Torkoal has been with a Numel and Skunty; and Glalie's mischief behavior has been passed down to a Mawile and Bergmite.

Staraptor is occasionally supervising a Murkrow and Vullaby; Torterra typically has a Pansage and Petilil on his back; Infernape has been practicing with a Torchic and Tyrogue; Buizel attempts to teach a Psyduck and Clamperl; Gliscor soars with a Yanma and Combee.

Unfezant mothers a Rufflet and Ducklett; Oshawott has a Panpour, Espurr, Minccino, and Purloin he's in charge of; Pignite tends to a Spoink and Darumaka; Snivy keeps a keen eye on her Ekans and Seviper; Boldore rests with a Beldum and Carbink; Leavanny makes leaf clothing for her Dewpider, Joltik, and Scatterbug; Palpitoad swims with a Mudkip and Surskit; Krookodile burrows with a Drilbur; Talonflame flies with a Pikipek; Hawlucha mentors a Machop, Pancham, and Croagunk; and Goodra tends to a Magikarp and Skrelp. And those are the ones I know."

Ash heard everything and was shocked at the many Pokémon his own have. He wasn't sure how to feel. But another question came to his mind, "How come the trainers of the other parents did not adopt them?"

Oak thought for a second, "Well, most trainers tend want certain Pokémon with certain traits. Typically most go to a daycare for this but there have been some instances when professor's lab can be used as a breeding ground. It's not heavily advertised but given how large my corral is many trainers tend to leave them here. As for not adopting, it's not a concept I divulge in. Trainers will usually use Pokémon sponsored professors for battling, not really breeding. It's more of a side job. Plus not many are accepted by trainers and are sent to breeding areas."

Ash nodded along before feeling guilty about himself. He was mentally kicking himself for not realizing this, "So, the other parents of my Pokémon's offspring are no longer here?"

"No, my boy, they are still here. But rather come and go. Yours, on the other hand, tend to stay here, allowing them to mother or father their babies."

Ash just faced the ground, his face darkened by his hat. Hearing the word, 'stay' made him feel like he had been neglecting his Pokémon. Truth be told, he was inclined to agree.

"Thanks Professor..." Ash said in a monotone voice before getting to his feet and began to walk away.

"Where are you going, Ash?" Oak questioned.

"I... I just need some time to myself..." was the answer.

Oak understood what he meant and backed away as Ketchum left the corral. The regional professor mentally face-palmed, having overloaded the new champion with everything he just told him about his Pokémon and their childern.

Back to the present, Ash laid in bed, constantly kicking himself about his journeys and his Pokémon. As much as he hated to admit it, Oak was right, not that he wanted to sound harsh. Ash had neglected his Pokémon during his recent travels from Unova to Alola, not calling up on them to see how they were doing are even if they would want to battle in the leagues. He was trying to give his new Pokémon a chance to shine but he just took Pikachu with him to every region.

It reminded him too much of his father. Ash had very few memories of his dad, leaving when he was five. His mom rarely brought him up, being a sore subject but Ash promised to never do that to himself. But now learning that his Pokémon had children, he felt too much like him.

"Ash? Honey?" His mom, Delia Ketchum, entered the room. She had heard from Professor Oak about the baby Pokémon that have been appearing, which she talked to him about whenever they had met for tea or such.

"Hey, mom..." Ash said, his tone not in the mood to talk.

But something like that wasn't going to deter his mom from trying, "Ash... I already know about the baby Pokémon."

"You knew?" Ash questioned, not with a hint of betrayal but with surprise.

"Yes," she admitted before sitting next to him, "I was waiting for the right time to tell you but I guess Oak beat me to it. How do you feel about it?"

Her son thought before answering, "Honestly mom..." there was a long pause before the answer, "I feel guilty."

"How so?"

"It's just... I feel like... happy that I have more Pokémon but at the same time like dad in a sense."

Delia was taken aback from hearing the claim, "Ash, you are not like him at all."

"But I do," Ash said before tears started to appear, "I vowed never to become like but I did. Seeing these Pokémon that forgot... it hurt me... like when dad left."

"Ash," his mother said in a motherly tone, "It's okay. I'm sure your Pokémon understand. You were always traveling, never wanting to stop until you achieve your goal of winning a league."

"But my dream is to become a Pokémon Master," Ash replied, "To win a league feels good but at the same time, I'm not sure where to go now..."

Delia looked Ash in eyes, "Ash, listen to me. You are not like your father. You couldn't have know about the Pokémon yours have been parenting. But you can change that. Get to know them. Be a Pokémon Master by getting to learning from your Pokémon. Maybe even travel with them."

Ash mauled what his mom was saying: getting to know his own new Pokémon offsprings with their parents; don't forget them; be with them.

"... Thanks mom. I needed that." His mom just smiled before hugging her son.

It was 5 PM when Ash approached the lab for a second time. He was anxious but steeled his nerves. He opened the door and walked around the lab before finding Oak.

"Hey, professor," Ash greeted.

"Ah, Ash my boy," Oak said with relief in his voice, "I take it your mother has talked to you?"

"She has..." he replied before working up the courage, "Is Bulbasaur around here?"

Oak nodded before leading him to the corral again and met with the Seed Pokémon. "Bulba!"

"Hey, Bulbasaur. Could you get all my Pokémon?"

The Kanto Grass starter nodded before using Solar Beam to signal all of his Pokémon.

"Hey guys!" Ash was Body Slammed by Bayleef, the Leaf Pokémon nuzzling him affectionately. "I missed you too, Bayleef." Getting the Johto Grass-type off, Ash dusted himself before calming himself about what he was about to say.

"So to start off, I'm sure you've heard the news. We've won the Alola League!" He said, which his Pokémon cheered. "I couldn't have made there without you guys and learning during our journey together."

Ketchum then took a more sincere tone, "Now, I would like to apologize." His Pokémon were all confused what he meant by that.

"Recently, I have been told you guys have offsprings. And partially, I feel like I am to blame. I never thought of using some of you during some of my previous leagues. Perhaps we could have done better and reach Champion much sooner. I feel as I have neglected you."

The statement ended with one of Charizard's signature Flamethrowers, covering Ash in soot. The victim just shook himself off, "What was that for?!"

To his surprise, his Pokémon weren't upset or furious at him. They seemed to understand and maybe they liked to relax at Oak's for all their hard work. Maybe they even trained during their time here.

Ash just gave a soft smile, "Glad you guys understand. Now, I heard you guys offsprings." His Pokémon except Gible, Scraggy, and Noivern all nodded. "It's been eating me up not knowing this. Well, time to change that. Bulbasaur, can you fire a Solar Beam for them?"

The Seed Pokémon nodded before firing another Solar Beam in the air. This caused fireworks to appear, signaling the babies. And call him crazy, Ash felt the ground rumble beneath, much harder than when his Tauros do. Ash saw a dust cloud of tons of Pokémon all ranging from different sizes.

"Woah!" He saw Bulbasaur's, the ones Oak mentioned, and a few more. The stampede ended as it came to a halt. The Pokémon within the stampeded looked at their respective parents as the latter nodded before crying in joy.

Ash straighten himself before addressing them, "Hi. I'm Ash Ketchum... and I'm your trainer."

Needless to say, he was underneath a cluster mixed with various smaller Pokémon, which he laughed at.

A/N: New story. This was inspired by "I have HOW many Pokémon" by crosspairinglover, writer of the Pokémon Reset Bloodlines series. But that story is post-Kalos whereas mine is post-Alola. Thinking about turning this one into a series, possibly a rewrite of Pokémon Journeys, separate series, or redo of Kanto-Kalos.

Now as mentioned before, this is an AU where he kept Haunter and re-caught Pidgeot, Primeape, Lapras, and Goodra. Squirtle was back in the corral after the Battle Frontier. Greninja, on the other hand, was still released.

As for the choices, the baby Pokémon were selected from the parents Egg Group. Plus there are plenty for a majority of Ash's Pokémon.

Next few chapters will be about the babies most likely.

No flames.
