Day 2

By Oak's river in the corral, Kingler had been teaching his children. The Pincer Pokémon has possibly been here the longest which Ash blamed himself for that, having only used him for the Indigo League and Whirl Cup. But his Pokémon didn't hold any resentment towards him so Ash was okay with it.

[Tentacool, the Jellyfish Pokémon. Tentacool is not a particularly strong swimmer. It drifts across the surface of shallow seas as it searches for prey.

Gender: Male

Ability: Liquid Ooze

Moves: Poison Sting, Water Pulse, Wrap, Supersonic, Screech, Bubble Beam]

The Kanto Water/Poison-type gave Ash some minor flashbacks from the giant Tentacruel that terrorized Porta Vista. His Jellyfish Pokémon however didn't seem like that, having a joyful attitude. From the riverbank, it was obvious Tentacool loved to go swimming.

[Shellder, the Bivalve Pokémon. It swims facing backward by opening and closing its two-piece shell. It is surprisingly fast.

Gender: Male

Ability: Shell Armor

Moves: Tackle, Withdraw, Water Gun, Ice Shard, Aurora Beam, Whirlpool, Supersonic, Leer]

Shellder licked his trainer upon being recognized. Ash just petted his shell and the Kanto Bivalve Pokémon enjoyed the love he was getting. Ash had brief memories of the Shellder line, finding the shell quite tough. Ash began to think about incorporating defensive moves for his Pokémon, since going all-out attacks sometimes had its drawbacks.

[Anorith, the Old Shrimp Pokémon. Anorith can swim swiftly by pulling its eight wings through the water like oars on a boat. This Pokémon is an ancestor of modern bug Pokémon.

Gender: Male

Ability: Battle Armor

Moves: Fury Cutter, Harden, Water Gun, Smack Down, Metal Claw, Ancient Power, Bug Bite]

Anorith scampered up to his trainer and was lifted, chittering in joy while being cradled by Ketchum. The Bug/Rock was one Pokémon Ash had his eye on so this made him happy to find an Anorith.

[Lileep, the Sea Lily Pokémon. Lileep clings to rocks on the seabed. When prey comes close, this Pokémon entangles it with petallike tentacles.

Gender: Female

Ability: Suction Cups

Moves: Wrap, Acid, Astonish, Confuse Ray, Ingrain, Ancient Power, Mega Drain]

Lileep was an odd Pokémon in the lineup if Ash was being honest. But he loved the Pokémon regardless. When he thought about, he never saw many Lileeps or Cradilys around, given how they were found on the seafloor. His Lileep was great though, having nuzzled against her trainer.

[Binacle, the Two-Handed Pokémon. After two Binacle find a suitably sized rock, they adhere themselves to it and live together. They cooperate to gather food during high tide.

Gender: Male

Ability: Tough Claws

Moves: Fury Cutter, Fury Swipes, Mud Slap, Rock Polish, Ancient Power, Withdraw]

Seeing Binacle got Ash thinking about the potential Barbaracle which was a powerhouse if he remembered correctly. Having the Rock/Water behemoth would be great for his team. The Two-Handed Pokémon were like Pidgeot's Doduo: mischievous but caring.

[Omanyte, the Spiral Pokémon. This Pokémon is a member of an ancient, extinct species. Omanyte paddles through water with its 10 tentacles, looking like it's just drifting along.

Gender: Male

Ability: Swift Swim

Moves: Bind, Withdraw, Rollout, Sand Attack, Water Gun, Leer, Mud Shot]

Omanyte was a great Pokémon in Ash's eyes. Seeing the Helix fossil revived in glory brought Ash joy. Like with Tyrunt, Ash wanted a few fossil Pokémon on his team and Omanyte fit the bill. The ammonite Pokémon himself liked to wrap around Ash's legs with his tentacles but the trainer didn't mind since all of his Pokémon had different methods of sharing love.

[Kabuto, the Shellfish Pokémon. This species is almost entirely extinct. Kabuto molt every three days, making their shells harder and harder.

Gender: Male

Ability: Battle Armor

Moves: Absorb, Harden, Scratch, Sand Attack, Aqua Jet, Leer, Mud Shot]

Kabuto acted like Kingler's Anorith but was heavier. Seeing the revived Dome Fossil, Ash had also wanted one of them as well. The Kabuto was more than joyful with his new trainer as they played around. Though Kingler had to discipline some of his children.

When Ash brought Primeape back during the Battle Frontier, it was the same scenario of Pidgeot. He thought about using him for the Battle Arena but he decided against this and went with Snorlax instead. In the hindsight, the Pig-Monkey probably would have been a nice choice. Primeape was great with tutoring with his children, especially in training. Even Scraggy got in on training, working with his Focus Blast and Fighting-type moves.

[Sneasel, the Sharp Claw Pokémon. Its paws conceal sharp claws. If attacked, it suddenly extends its claws and startles its enemy.

Gender: Female

Ability: Inner Focus

Moves: Leer, Taunt, Metal Claw, Icy Wind, Fury Swipes]

Sneasel was a hardworking offspring who accepted praise nonetheless. She had a serious demeanor, eyeing her father's trainer. She gave a nod of acknowledgment before training herself with her Ice and Dark-type moves.

[Slakoth, the Slacker Pokémon. Slakoth's heart beats just once a minute. Whatever happens, it is content to loaf around motionless. It is rare to see this Pokémon in motion.

Gender: Male

Ability: Truant

Moves: Scratch, Yawn, Encore, Slack Off, Rest, Amnesia]

Slakoth was the exact opposite of hardworking. He had a lazy nature which Ash and Primeape could only sweat-drop at. But this got Ash thinking if the sloth-like Pokémon became a Slaking he would have another major powerhouse on his team. But Primeape kept encouraging the Slacker Pokémon to do some training.

[Patrat, the Scout Pokémon. Extremely cautious, one of them will always be on the lookout, but it won't notice a foe coming from behind.

Gender: Male

Ability: Keen Eye

Moves: Tackle, Leer, Bide, Detect, Sand Attack, Crunch, Hypnosis]

Patrat was always alert and ready for training. He aimed to please and Ketchum was glad about that. He remembers how Lenora's Watchog did and wanted to have one himself now.

[Passimian, the Teamwork Pokémon. Passimian live in groups of about 20, with each member performing an assigned role. Through cooperation, the group survives.

Gender: Male

Ability: Reciever

Moves: Take Down, Leer, Rock Smash, Focus Energy, Beat Up, Fling]

Passimian was ambitious and outgoing. The lemur-like Pokémon constantly trained with the Pig-Monkey Pokémon which the older simian was more than happy to help with.

[Aipom, the Long Tail Pokémon. Aipom's tail ends in a hand-like appendage that can be cleverly manipulated. However, because the Pokémon uses its tail so much, its real hands have become rather clumsy.

Gender: Male

Ability: Pickup

Moves: Fury Swipes, Sand Attack, Astonish, Baton Pass, Tickle, Swift]

Seeing the purple monkey, Ash was remained him of his own Aipom or rather Dawn's Ambipom now. She was still training with O for tennis matches but Dawn informed him that she was given updates at times. It seemed that mischief was present in all Aipoms since this one had a habit of stealing Ash's hat at times.

When it came to Haunter, he was considered the fun-loving dad. Given his many pranks he has performed, Ash could totally see that. But a part of him made him frown since when he thought about, Haunter was his most unused Pokémon. Fortunately for him, the Gas Pokémon held no grudges and liked to perform pranks on the professor, much to Oak's dismay. Plus when Ash meet Haunter's offsprings, he had tons of Ghost-types.

[Shuppet, the Puppet Pokémon. It eats up emotions like malice, jealousy, and resentment, so some people are grateful for its presence.

Gender: Female

Ability: Cursed Body

Moves: Knock Off, Screech, Spite, Shadow Sneak, Will-O-Wisp, Pain Split, Hex, Curse]

Shuppet was affectionate and she loved the attention. The phantom puppet proved to be rather not to be a prankster, which made Ash happy.

[Duskull, the Requiem Pokémon. Making itself invisible, it silently sneaks up to prey. It has the ability to slip through thick walls.

Gender: Male

Ability: Levitate

Moves: Astonish, Leer, Disable, Shadow Sneak, Night Shade, Payback, Will-O-Wisp]

The Requiem Pokémon seemed bashful and illusive upon newcomers so Ash took it slow, getting to know the skull-face ghost. Duskull came around and Ash was glad to make progress with the Hoenn Ghost-type.

[Misdrevaus, the Screech Pokémon. What gives meaning to its life is surprising others. If you set your ear against the red orbs around its neck, you can hear shrieking.

Gender: Female

Ability: Levitate

Moves: Confusion, Spite, Astonish, Confuse Ray, Mean Look, Hex, Psybeam]

Misdreavus was just as affectionate with Ash as Shuppet. She favored the attention which led to fights between her and the Puppet Pokémon. Ash sweat-dropped when Haunter had to break up his daughters fighting one and another.

[Rotom, the Plasma Pokémon. Its body is composed of plasma. It is known to infiltrate electronic devices and wreak havoc.

Gender: Unknown

Ability: Levitate

Moves: Astonish, Double Team, Thunder Shock, Confuse Ray, Charge, Electro Ball, Thunder Wave]

Rotom shared its father's mischievous traits. Remembering Rotom Dex, Ash's own Plasma Pokémon was hyperactive and all over the place. Ketchum vaguely remembered Oak's own Rotom so maybe that was the other parent, considering how Rotoms do not have a gender.

[Tynamo, the EleFish Pokemon. One alone can emit only a trickle of electricity, so a group of them gathers to unleash a powerful electric shock.

Gender: Male

Ability: Levitate

Moves: Tackle, Thunder Wave, Spark, Charge Beam]

Tynamo caused Ash to wonder how Haunter breed with the Eelktross line. But then again, Ash partially wanted an Electric-type but never wanted to hurt Pikachu's feelings. Luckily Pikachu was fond of the inclusion of other Electric-types.

[Litwick, the Candle Pokémon. The flame on its head keeps its body slightly warm. This Pokémon takes lost children by the hand to guide them to the spirit world.

Gender: Male

Ability: Flame Body

Moves: Fire Spin, Astonish, Smog, Minimize, Confuse Ray, Hex, Will-O-Wisp, Night Shade]

Meeting the Candle Pokémon, Ash got nervous. He remembered how Litwicks almost drained him during his Unova adventure. But his Litwick wasn't as malicious as those candles, nuzzling up to her trainer which relieved the trainer.

[Frillish, the Floating Pokémon. Legend has it that the residents of a sunken city changed into these Pokémon.

Gender: Male

Ability: Cursed Body

Moves: Absorb, Water Pulse, Poison Sting, Night Shade, Rain Dance, Hex, Brine]

Frillish must have been the oldest as he had to reprimand a majority of his siblings. Ash chuckled as the Floating Pokémon's attempt to subdue his siblings petty squabbles, acting as a peace keeper.

[Castform, the Weather Pokémon. Although its form changes with the weather, that is apparently the result of a chemical reaction and not the result of its own free will.

Gender: Male

Ability: Forecast

Moves: Tackle, Ember, Water Gun, Powder Snow, Headbutt]

Castform was a Pokémon Ash never thought of having. He hardly used weather conditions in battle but was proud to have the sentient atom on his roster now. The Weather Pokémon himself was rather ambitious and proud of himself.

[Ralts, the Feeling Pokémon. It is highly attuned to the emotions of people and Pokémon. It hides if it senses hostility.

Gender: Female

Ability: Trace

Moves: Disarming Voice, Double Team, Confusion, Hypnosis, Draining Kiss]

Ralts was obviously younger than her sibling. Haunter, surprisingly, was gentle with her as was Ash when he cradled her. The Feeling Pokémon cheered with joy as she was rocked by her father's trainer.

[Drifloon, the Balloon Pokémon. A Pokémon formed by the spirits of people and Pokémon. It loves damp, humid seasons.

Gender: Female

Ability: Aftermath

Moves: Minimize, Astonish, Gust, Focus Energy, Payback, Hex, Shadow Ball]

Drifloon hovered joyfully around her father's trainer. She shared a mischief gene as she carried Pikachu off Ash's shoulder, making the trainer chase after her. Her older brother Frillish resulted in admonishing her for her antics, even if it was her nature, making the Sinnoh Balloon Pokémon puff up in annoyance since she found her brother's maturity annoying. After her scolding, the purple sentient balloon floated away and warmed up with Ash.

Muk was quite an affectionate father. He seemed to share his smothering habits with his children. Some enjoyed the hugs while some did not. All in all, Ash was glad the Sludge Pokémon had some offspring. Made him be grateful that he could potentially have more Poison-types.

[Wynaut, the Bright Pokémon. Wynaut gather on moonlit nights to play by squeezing up against each other. By being squeezed, this Pokémon gains endurance and is trained to dole out powerful counterattacks.

Gender: Male

Ability: Shadow Tag

Moves: Splash, Safeguard, Destiny Bond, Encore, Charm]

Wynaut like to be hugged by Ash since he was constantly garnishing for attention. The Alolan Champion complied and the Bright Pokémon smiled. He was wondering if that was what the Pokedex related to but didn't mind.

[Koffing, the Poison Gas Pokémon. In hot places, its internal gases could expand and explode without any warning. Be very careful!

Gender: Male

Ability: Levitate

Moves: Tackle, Smog, Smokescreen, Clear Smog, Assurance, Sludge]

When Ash thought of it, he had never really encountered and other Koffling or Weezing since James' Weezing or Koffing since his battle with Roxie. The Poison Gas Pokémon liked to hover around his trainer, getting pets of satisfaction as he did.

[Slugma, the Lava Pokémon. Slugma does not have any blood in its body. Instead, intensely hot magma circulates throughout this Pokémon's body, carrying essential nutrients and oxygen to its organs.

Gender: Male

Ability: Magma Armor

Moves: Yawn, Clear Smog, Harden, Incinerate, Ancient Power]

Slugma was too hot to touch so Ash had to admire from a distance. The Lava Pokémon understood his trainer's concern. Ash vaguely remembered battling a few Slugmas like Flannery's and Macy's. The lava slug accepted Ash as his trainer as he snorted flames of joy.

[Gulpin, the Stomach Pokémon. Most of Gulpin's body is made up of its stomach—its heart and brain are very small in comparison. This Pokémon's stomach contains special enzymes that dissolve anything.

Gender: Male

Ability: Liquid Ooze

Moves: Yawn, Pound, Poison Gas, Sludge, Amnesia, Acid Spray, Encore]

According to Oak, Gulpin ate a lot. To satisfy this, Oak developed a PokéBlock that would provide nutrients for the Stomach Pokémon. Ash witness this when he saw the Hoenn Poison-type eat during meal time.

[Solosis, the Cell Pokémon. They drive away attackers by unleashing psychic power. They can use telepathy to talk with others.

Gender: Male

Ability: Overcoat

Moves: Protect, Recover, Psybeam, Charm, Psyshock]

Ash had never considered having a Solosis during his Unova adventure. The Cell Pokémon nuzzled up to his trainer on the cheek, given how small he was. Ash laughed as the Psychic-type rubbed against him.

[Pumpkaboo, the Pumpkin Pokémon. The pumpkin body is inhabited by a spirit trapped in this world. As the sun sets, it becomes restless and active.

Average Size

Gender: Female

Ability: Frisk

Moves: Trick-or-Treat, Shadow Sneak, Astonish, Confuse Ray, Razor Leaf, Leech Seed, Bullet Seed]

Ash remembered when Jessie had a Pumpkaboo herself. In all honest, Ash never considered getting the Pumpkin Pokémon but he was. Ketchum accepted the Ghost/Grass-type and remembered they come in different sizes in the wild, which made him glad that his was an average size Pumpkaboo.

[Alolan Grimer, the Sludge Pokémon. There are a hundred or so of them living in Alola's waste-disposal site. They're all hard workers who eat a lot of trash.

Gender: Female

Ability: Power of Alchemy

Moves: Pound, Acid Spray, Harden, Poison Fang, Disable, Minimize]

The Alolan Grimer shared her father's love of hugging. She smothered Ash when they met but not as much as Muk does. Ash thought back to the comparison that his Alola class did. Perhaps the Alolan Muk used to compare was the mother.

A/N: No flames.
