A/N: Added a West Sea Shellos and Poliwag to Squirtle's children. Added a Slowpoke to Snorlax's children.

Day 4

After prying Heracross off Bulbasaur's bulb, the Single Horn got his larvae to appear. Ash was blown away again when he saw Heracross' offsprings. Some where even ones he wanted on his team but never properly caught them. The offsprings gave the Alolan Champion new Bug-types he couldn't ask for.

[Pineco, the Bagworm Pokémon. Pineco hangs from a tree branch and patiently waits for prey to come along. If the Pokémon is disturbed while eating by someone shaking its tree. it drops to the ground and explodes with no warning.

Gender: Male

Ability: Sturdy

Moves: Protect, Self-destruct, Bug Bite, Take Down, Rapid Spin, Rollout]

When Ash meet Pineco, he recalled how Brock's Forretress -when it was a Pineco- would often explode in the Pewter City Gym Leader's face. His Pineco, on the other hand, did no such thing. In fact, the Bagworm Pokémon actually liked to be held and high from the ground. Heracross helped with that, using his horn to play 'Rise' with the turquoise pinecone-like Pokémon.

[Pinsir, the Stag Beetle Pokémon. These Pokémon judge one another based on pincers. Thicker, more impressive pincers make for more popularity with the opposite gender.

Gender: Male

Ability: Hyper Cutter

Moves: Harden, Bind, Storm Throw, Bug Bite, Double Hit]

Ash knows how strong Pinsirs can be so the brown Bug-type was more than welcomed in Ash's eyes. The Pinsir himself was timid and shy with Ash but the trainer got him to warm up to the point the Stag Beetle Pokémon came around. The Bug-type was just as affectionate as Heracross despite his appearance, enveloping the trainer in a hug.

[Scyther, the Mantis Pokémon. As Scyther fights more and more battles, its scythes become sharper and sharper. With a single slice, Scyther can fell a massive tree.

Gender: Male

Ability: Swarm

Moves: Quick Attack, Fury Cutter, Wing Attack, Double Team, Slash, Agility]

Scyther had always been a Pokémon Ash wanted. They were so hard to come by and his own Heracross had been fathering one for however long. The Mantis Pokémon seemed as if he was battle-hungry which Ash and Heracross had to tone down at the moment. The green mantis nodded, calming down and getting to know his trainer. Ash secretly grinned at the idea of getting a Scizor but wasn't sure how to.

[Larvesta, the Torch Pokémon. Larvesta's body is warm all over. It spouts fire from the tips of its horns to intimidate predators and scare prey.

Gender: Female

Ability: Flame Body; Swarm (Hidden Ability)

Moves: Struggle Bug, Flame Charge, Flame Wheel, String Shot, Bug Bite, Screech]

Meeting Larvesta, the Bug/Fire-type nearly torched the trainer's hand. Heracross had to reassure the Torch Pokémon which worked and the Unova Bug type scurried over and allowed Ash to pet her. The larva like Pokémon purred with joy and let out a happy stream of fire to express her love.

[Wimpod, the Turn Tail Pokémon. Its nature's cleaner—it eats anything and everything, including garbage and rotten things. The ground near its nest is always clean.

Gender: Male

Ability: Wimp Out

Moves: Struggle Bug, Sand Attack, Defense Curl]

The Wimpod Heracross had fathered was scared of... almost anything. It took the everyone of Heracross' siblings, himself, Ash, and Pikachu to calm the Turn Tail Pokémon which was a lot of effort. The Alolan Bug/Water-type ran circles around his trainer before resting and allowing him to rub his back.

[Trapinch, the Ant Pit Pokémon. It makes an inescapable conical pit and lies in wait at the bottom for prey to come tumbling down.

Gender: Male

Ability: Arena Trap

Moves: Astonish, Bite, Mud-Slap, Sand Tomb, Bulldoze, Dig]

Burrowing his way around, Trapinch leapt and bit onto Ash's head. Having gotten used to Gible doing the same action, Ash shrugged it off and the Ground-type snapped his jaws with joy. Ash rubbed the Ant Pit Pokémon's head, thinking about a potential Flygon on his team. The Ground-type based ant was placed down and burrowed away into a nearby sand pit, having a sand bath.

[Ledyba, the Five Star Pokémon. They are timid and grow uneasy when not in a swarm with others of their kind. The pattern on their backs differs slightly from one to another.

Gender: Male

Ability: Swarm

Moves: Tackle, Supersonic, Swift, Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, Mach Punch]

Ledyba seemed to be an alert Pokémon, ready for anything. But at the same time, he had some curious nature. The Five Star Pokémon found himself buzzing around his trainer and Pikachu before accepting them. The ladybug-like Pokémon buzzed with joy before hovering around his siblings.

[Venonat, the Insect Pokémon. Venonat is said to have evolved with a coat of thin, stiff hair that covers its entire body for protection. It possesses large eyes that never fail to spot even minuscule prey.

Gender: Female

Ability: Compound Eyes

Moves: Tackle, Disable, Struggle Bug, Supersonic, Poison Powder, Psybeam, Stun Spore]

Hopping around, Venonat was energetic before tackling his trainer to the ground. She nuzzled as she had her father's trainer on the ground before her. Ash just laughed it off and was content with the Insect Pokémon as he knew a Venomoth could work with him.

[Weedle, the Hairy Bug Pokémon. Beware of the sharp stinger on its head. It hides in grass and bushes where it eats leaves.

Gender: Male

Ability: Shield Dust

Moves: Poison Sting, String Shot]

With many dangerous encounters with Beedrill, Weedle was a surprise to see. Heracross had a kind nature with the Hairy Bug Pokémon, letting him crawl over him and made the Single Horn Pokémon laugh. The brown caterpillar did the same to his trainer and Ash, never having experienced this from the Poison Bee line, laughed as the Hairy Bug Pokémon wiggled all over him. Ketchum had wanted a Weedle for a long time and now he had one.

[Venipede, the Centipede Pokémon. Its bite injects a potent poison, enough to paralyze large bird Pokémon that try to prey on it.

Gender: Male

Ability: Poison Point

Moves: Poison Sting, Defense Curl, Rollout, Protect, Poison Tail]

Looking back on his Unova adventure, a Venipede would have been probably a great addition on his team. But at the same time, Ash already had more Pokémon on his Unova team and typically liked to have a team of six. Looking back, he remembered how strong Scolipede can be, so the Centipede Pokémon is a great find. The Unovan Bug/Poison-type crawled up to his trainer and was petted along his abdomen making the centipede glad.

[Snom, the Worm Pokémon. It spits out thread imbued with a frigid sort of energy and uses it to tie its body to branches, disguising itself as an icicle while it sleeps.

Gender: Female

Ability: Shield Dust; Ice Scales (Hidden Ability)

Moves: Struggle Bug, Powder Snow]

The Snom made Ash question where she came from. Looking at the Pokédex for information, he found Snom was from the Galar region which gave him more excitement just thinking about. The Ice-type Worm Pokémon was picked up and she chirped with joy at being admired by her father's trainer.

[Shuckle, the Mold Pokémon. It stores berries inside its shell. To avoid attacks, it hides beneath rocks and remains completely still.

Gender: Male

Ability: Sturdy

Moves: Withdraw, Wrap, Rollout, Struggle Bug, Rock Throw, Rest, Bug Bite]

Ash remembered encountering a few Shuckles before and found out the hard way that the Mold Pokémon had great defensive capabilities. Ketchum found this fact a bit difficult with his battle strategy but admittedly he found it great as he needed some defensive measures. Rushing in head-on into attacks was sometimes based on luck for him. The Mold Pokémon himself was quite chipper.

[Sizzlipede, the Radiator Pokémon. It stores flammable gas in its body and uses it to generate heat. The yellow sections on its belly get particularly hot.

Gender: Male

Ability: Flash Fire

Moves: Wrap, Bug Bite, Coil, Bug Bite, Ember]

Like with Snom, the Sizzlipede threw Ash in for a loop. The Fire/Bug-type himself was energetic and coiled around his trainer's leg before accidentally releasing too much heat and Ketchum resorted to dipping his leg into water, ending the burning. The Radiator Pokémon was scolded by his father before apologizing to his trainer.

After getting Body Slammed and nuzzling for about four minutes, Bayleef finally got off and made her way around to her offsprings. The Leaf Pokémon proved to be quite the strict mother, teaching her children their nature abilities and moves while being kind to them. She also seemed defensive, only wanting what was best for them.

[Tangela, the Vine Pokémon Hidden beneath a tangle of vines that grows nonstop even if the vines are torn off, this Pokémon's true appearance remains a mystery.

Gender: Male

Ability: Chlorophyll

Moves: Bind, Stun Spore, Growth, Mega Drain, Vine Whip, Poison Powder]

Tangela was a Pokémon high on his most wanted list. The Vine Pokémon proved to be energetic, bouncing all over the place and snuggling his mother's trainer. The vine-covered Pokémon also proved to have a knack for wrapping vines around Ash to show his affection.

[Carnivine, the Bug Catcher Pokémon. It binds itself to trees in marshes. It attracts prey with its sweet-smelling drool and gulps them down.

Gender: Male

Ability: Levitate

Moves: Bind, Vine Whip, Bite, Sweet Scent, Ingrain, Grass Knot, Magical Leaf]

Carnivine embraced his trainer by wrapping around and chomping the head. Ash recalled how James' Bug Catcher Pokémon was the same before battling. Personally, the Venus flytrap Pokémon was affectionate as he was excited to battle. Bayleef had to pry him of her trainer but like her, the Sinnoh Grass-type loved to shower his trainer with love.

[Seedot, the Acorn Pokémon. It attaches itself to a tree branch using the top of its head. Strong winds can sometimes make it fall.

Gender: Male

Ability: Chlorophyll

Moves: Rollout, Harden, Mega Drain, Astonish, Growth]

Seedot hopped up and down like his vine-covered sibling but was able control himself. Ash rubbed the "cap" portion of the Acorn Pokémon, making the seed-like creature purr with pleasure. Thinking about it, Ketchum knew that Shiftry were fast and nimble, perfect for his fighting style.

[Fomantis, the Sickle Grass Pokémon. When bathed in sunlight, this Pokémon emits a pleasantly sweet scent, which causes bug Pokémon to gather around it.

Gender: Female

Ability: Contrary

Moves: Leafage, Fury Cutter, Growth, Ingrain, Razor Leaf, Sweet Scent]

The Fomantis reminded Ash of the Totem Lurantis, remembering how strong a Lurantis could be for his team. The Sickle Grass Pokémon was graceful and created a scent that enticed the Alolan Champion and many Bug types that Bayleef defended her child from any reckless things the insects did.

[Paras, the Mushroom Pokémon. Burrows under the ground to gnaw on tree roots. The mushrooms on its back absorb most of the nutrition.

Gender: Female

Ability: Effect Spore

Moves: Fury Cutter, Absorb, Stun Spore, Poison Powder, Spore]

Paras scurried over to her trainer, chittering happily when Ash patted the back. The trainer began to remember what happened to mushrooms during evolution. He cringed but shook it off since he didn't mind the odd information as Pokémon are unique in different ways and that would only happen if the bug Mushroom Pokémon evolved.

[Bounsweet, the Fruit Pokémon. When under attack, it secretes a sweet and delicious sweat. The scent only calls more enemies to it.

Gender: Female

Ability: Leaf Guard

Moves: Splash, Play Nice, Magical Leaf, Sweet Scent]

When Ash meet Bounsweet, he remembers how Mallow's -when she was a Bounsweet- would rotate her calyx and kick Rowlet away. He imagined having a strong Tsareena with his battling style but also great for contest standards if he wanted to participate into them. The Alolan Fruit Pokémon bounced up and down with joy when Ash met her.

[Sunkern, the Seed Pokémon. Sunkern tries to move as little as it possibly can. It does so because it tries to conserve all the nutrients it has stored in its body for its evolution. It will not eat a thing, subsisting only on morning dew.

Gender: Female

Ability: Chlorophyll

Moves: Tackle, Ingrain, Mega Drain, Leech Seed, Razor Leaf, Worry Seed]

Sunkern jumped up and down, being quite lovable. Bayleef lifted her up and down like Heracross did with Pineco. The Johto Seed Pokémon made Ash proud and thought about a potential Sunflora on his team. The more he thought about it though, she would be better for contests in case he wanted to them like with Bounsweet but if she wanted to battle it was fine with him.

[Tropius, the Fruit Pokémon. The bunch of fruit around its neck ripens twice a year and is delicious. It's a highly favored tropical snack.

Gender: Male

Ability: Harvest

Moves: Leer, Gust, Growth, Magical Leaf, Sweet Scent, Stomp, Whirlwind]

Seeing a Tropius, the tropical sauropod towered over the ten year old. The Hoenn Fruit Pokémon nuzzled like his mother would against Ash face, making the trainer laugh before petting the Grass/Flying-type's head. The Pokémon even gave his trainer a brief ride to show off his flight capabilities.

Quilava enjoyed playing with his children, always making sure they weren't getting into trouble. Ash liked that the Volcano Pokémon got along well with his children, though the trainer wondered if he had them before or after he evolved since he left him here for a long time.

[Sentret, the Scout Pokémon. It stands on its tail so it can see a long way. If it spots an enemy, it cries loudly to warn its kind.

Gender: Male

Ability: Run Away

Moves: Growl, Defense Curl, Quick Attack, Fury Swipes]

With Sentret, the Johto regional rodent stood on his tail, chirping with joy. He reached his trainer's chest with his current posture. Scratching between the Scout Pokémon's ears, Ash found this was a favorite spot of the brown ferret. Thinking about it, a Furret maybe a Pokémon that he wanted with their speed and agility.

[Dunsparce, the Land Snake Pokémon. The nests Dunsparce live in are mazes of tunnels. They never get lost in their nests- they can tell where they are by the scent of the dirt.

Gender: Male

Ability: Serene Grace

Moves: Flail, Defense Curl, Mud-Slap, Rollout, Glare, Screech, Ancient Power, Drill Run, Yawn, Body Slam]

Ash couldn't help but jump with joy. He had wanted the Land Snake Pokémon for a long time and now one of his Pokémon had an offspring of it. The Normal-type was energetic slithering all over the place before rubbing against his father's trainer's leg. Ash rubbed the back of the snake-insect hybrid, making him purr with pleasure.

[Houndour, the Dark Pokémon. It cooperates with others skillfully. When it becomes your partner, it's very loyal to you as its Trainer and will obey your orders.

Gender: Male

Ability: Flash Fire

Moves: Leer, Ember, Howl, Smog, Roar, Bite, Taunt]

Houndour had been other Pokémon Ash wanted. The Dark Pokémon sniffed his trainer and barked with satisfaction, wagging his tail joyfully. Ash and Pikachu played with the Johto canine for a short while before Quilava introduced his second to last offspring.

[Litleo, the Lion Cub Pokémon. This hot-blooded Pokémon is filled with curiosity. When it gets angry or starts fighting, its short mane gets hot.

Gender: Male

Ability: Rivalry

Moves: Leer, Work Up, Take Down, Ember, Noble Roar, Fire Fang]

Litleo purred with content when Ash ran his fingers down his back. Thinking about his first encounter with the Lion Cub Pokémon, Ash remembered how he had to train the deserted lion cub from the pride. Knowing that Kalos feline wouldn't have to go through the same thing, Ash was relieved. In fact, he had wanted the Normal/Fire-type after saving him but he had already a full team in Kalos.

[Wooloo, the Sheep Pokémon. Its curly fleece is such an effective cushion that this Pokémon could fall off a cliff and stand right back up at the bottom, unharmed.

Gender: Male

Ability: Run Away

Moves: Tackle, Defense Curl, Growl, Copycat, Guard Split, Double Kick]

Unlike the many times he had been tackled by his Pokémon, Wooloo didn't hurt him as much. It was rather comfy as the Sheep Pokémon nuzzled up and baad at being recognized. Ash read from the Pokédex that the ovine is from Galar so this got him even more excited to visit the region.

A/N: Been on vacation, a cruise, and family in town for the holidays so I have been working on this from time to time whenever I could. Anyways first half of Johto is complete and now the second half next chapter.

And Happy New Year!
