Hayley stared at the coffin in front of her. After she teleported back into her parent's barn, she didn't know if it was such a good idea to let loose a vampire in her family's property.

So how does your teleportation work? Are we in your parent's house now? And when are you going to remove this dagger out of my chest? She heard the vampire say mentally.

She frowned for a moment right before she decided to open the coffin with the use of her magic. With a wave of her hand, the upper portion of the coffin was lifted. The moment she did, she finally saw the vampire within the coffin and his current condition. She noted the ugly, dark veins protruding from the vampire's pale skin while there was a dagger stuck on his chest.

You don't look too good. Hayley mentally remarked to the vampire.

Tell me about it darling. So why don't you help me get out of this? Like I said before, I will be in your debt if you do so. The vampire communicated.

And will you answer my questions once I do? She asked him.

Yes, and teach you more about magic if you want. The vampire told her.

That's a deal then. She responded.

Good to know. Now, kindly remove the dagger and end my misery darling. The vampire named Kol said.

Alright. She agreed as she slowly removed the dagger from his chest.

Just so you know. It will take me an hour or so before I regain the full functioning of my body. The still desiccated vampire said. Perhaps you can wait for me while I regain my senses.

Of course, I can wait. She replied.

So she did. In the next three hours, she waited for the vampire to regain his senses while she cast a boundary spell on the barn to prevent the vampire from leaving without her permission.

She slowly watched as the dark veins on the vampire retreated back until the vampire regained a far much healthier color. She became cautious when the vampire finally sat up from the coffin, and in a blur of movement, he suddenly stood in front of her.

"Hello there," the vampire greeted with a grin. "You must be the lady who saved me from my miserable state. My name is Kol Mikaelson and you are?"

"Hayley Marshall," she responded while she took the hand extended to her by the vampire.

"It's an honor to meet you Hayley Marshall," the vampire stated as he bestowed a kiss on the back of her hand.

Hayley tried her best not to react to the handsome vampire's action and remained stoic as she swiftly withdrew her hand from his.

"And it's nice to meet you too," she stated with a hint of sarcasm.

"Now that the introductions are over. What are you going to ask of me now that I am free from my brother? However, I am also rather curious to see how you came upon my coffin in the first place." the vampire asked her.

"Well," Hayley began as she regarded him. "To answer your second question. A vampire attacked my father today and I subdued the creature. Afterward, I examined him and I noticed the golden threads that flowed within his body. I immediately assumed that it was some kind of curse which might be connected to his vampiric state. I followed the golden threads, which immediately led me to some kind of warehouse with four coffins that included yours."

"I see. My family has been in those coffins for many years after my brother put us there. And I am thoroughly grateful that you saved me from my brother's clutches," the vampire Kol told her.

"Your brother? He did that to you and others in your family? Why is that?"

"Yes, my overbearing hybrid brother. He is responsible for putting me and the rest of my siblings in those coffins you see in that warehouse because we often disagreed with him."

"Hybrid brother?" Hayley asked curiously. Is his brother the same as me? A half-witch and half-werewolf?

"My brother is half-vampire and half-werewolf of the Original Family," Kol informed her. "He is the first of his kind."

"What do you mean by Original family?"

"The Original family means that we, the Mikaelsons, are the first vampires that ever walked the earth since a thousand years ago."

"So you and your entire family are the first vampires?"

"Except my brother of course. Klaus is different. He is the first hybrid."

"I see," Hayley murmured contemplatively.

"Any other question darling?"

"Yes, I do have a lot of questions," She said. "Since you have lived for thousands of years. Have you ever encountered a werewolf-witch hybrid before in your lifetime?"

"No, I believe not. Why do you ask?"

"Nothing," she responded carefully. "Just curious."

"Alrighty then." Kol said with a frown on his face.

Not wanting to raise any more suspicion about her, Hayley then changed the subject.

"The golden threads that I saw within the vampire. Do you know why it led me to you?" She inquired.

"As for the golden threads you see within the vampire, he must be one from my sire line. That's probably why his connection led you to me. And you are quite right about the curse of vampirism too. My mother, who was a witch, created the curse in the first place a thousand of years ago."

"Your mother was a witch?"

"Yes, a powerful one too,"

"And do you learn all the knowledge of magic from her?"

"Some of it, I believe, but I mostly learn different kinds of magic throughout my travels all across the world during my thousand years of existence,"

"And you plan to teach me all your knowledge for saving you from your brother?"

"Yes,"

"And that's it?"

"Well, not really. I intend to ask another favor from you during our entire partnership."

"What favor do you want to ask?"

"I want you to help me get the rest of the coffins from my brother's clutches. I think it is time for my other siblings to be free as well. More than that, I also want you to locate my eldest brother Elijah."

"And why do you think I will agree to your request? And how do you think I will go about freeing your other siblings if I agree?"

"Because I can tell that you are just a fledgling when it comes to magic and you need a teacher. I can be that person. I can teach you all you need to know about magic and in exchange you will help me save my siblings."

Hayley regarded the vampire for a moment before she said, "Well then…Lucky for you I put a tracking spell on the other coffins before I left with you. So it is easy for me to retrieve your siblings any time I want."

"That's incredible! Then, we are one step ahead of my brother. However, I am sure that Klaus is making all the necessary steps to prevent the coffins from ever being taken as we speak. He probably has called a bunch of witches to add extra precaution around the coffins to stop anyone from stealing them. Although I am quite confident that you can circumvent the nasty spells that my brother's witches have prepared for any potential thieves. I know you are a powerful witch despite your obvious inexperience because I have never encountered a witch who can use teleportation in my lifetime."

Hayley nodded her head and said, "If you can fulfill the end of our bargain and teach me all the knowledge that you have learned, then I have no problem agreeing to freeing the rest of your family. I will save your other siblings but only after I deemed it is time to do so. And now that we have an agreement. It's probably best if I cast a spell on both of us to make it official. It will prevent either of us from backing down from our deal or we suffer the consequences of a broken vow."

"What kind of spell?"

Hayley suppressed a smirk when she heard the wariness in the vampire's tone.

"It's a simple spell that I am familiar with. A blood oath. All that is required is the clasping of hands where our blood must intermingle."

"Really? No other ingredients required other than blood? Not even spell chanting?"

"I learned a different kind of magic from tutors before. Also, my kind of magic is far more different than what you have encountered in this world, Mr. Mikaelson." She explained to him.

"Fascinating…and just Kol please. Mr. Mikaelson makes me feel old."

"But you are old. Ancient really," Hayley told him with an amused smirk.

"I may be a thousand years old but I still feel quite young. I feel no older than you Hayley Marshall,"

"If you say so…" She stated, her smile widening. "So what about the blood oath?"

"Of course, I am ready if you are."

"Well then…let's start," Hayley said as she looked expectantly at him.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, a lone hybrid expressed his rage by throwing things around and killing those who failed to protect his brother's coffin.

"Where did my brother's coffin go?! How has anyone managed to steal my brother's coffin without anyone noticing it?!" Klaus raged while he threw a chair across the room.

The hybrid continued to destroy the things within his sight while blood pooled on the floor where the dead men and women under his employ were killed by the hybrid's own hand.

"I am going to kill the person who dared to steal from me! I am going to tear them to pieces with my bare hands!"

A bookshelf was toppled next and it came down with a resounding crash. Books and other ornaments clattered all over the bloody ground, where the broken bodies of the dead lay.

"And when I find my brother again, I will send him back where he belongs for good!"
