Day 11
Talonflame swooped down to Ash, his hatchlings falling in line when the Scorching Pokémon landed. The Kalos raptor must have had some pointers from Hawlucha as the raptor seemed strict with his hatchlings. Ash eyed each of the chicks, one he previous thought of catching, one great for contests, and a new Pokémon he had never seen before.
[Pikipek, the Woodpecker Pokémon. It can peck at a rate of 16 times a second to drill holes in trees. It uses the holes for food storage and for nesting.
Gender: Male
Ability: Skill Link
Moves: Peck, Echoed Voice, Rock Smash, Supersonic, Pluck, Roost]
Pikipek flew to Ash's head and lightly tapped the trainer's head. Ketchum just laughed as the Woodpecker Pokémon hopped into his shoulder and playfully nipped at his hair. Ash had considered the regional bird of Alola on his team but never but much thought into catching one. Of course, he felt like it was a tradition to catch the regional bird of each region he visited.
[Oricorio, the Dancing Pokémon. It beats its wings together to create fire. As it moves in the steps of its beautiful dance, it bathes opponents in intense flames.
Baile Style
Gender: Female
Ability: Dancer
Moves: Pound, Growl, Peck, Helping Hand, Air Cutter, Baton Pass, Feather Dance, Double Slap, Tailwind, Teeter Dance]
Oricorio was dancing to her own beat. Talonflame worked on getting her settled down to make sure she wouldn't go overboard. Ash accepted the Dancing Pokémon with her rhythm and remembered that certain nectars from the Alolan Islands would change her typing and dance style. Something that caught Ash's interest.
[Rookidee, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. Jumping nimbly about, this small-bodied Pokémon takes advantage of even the slightest opportunity to disorient larger opponents.
Gender: Male
Ability: Unnerve
Moves: Leer, Power Trip, Hone Claws, Fury Attack, Taunt, Pluck]
Rookidee was from Galar and Ash was surprised by that. The region had entered Ash's mind and made him more anxious to explore. The Tiny Bird Pokémon fluttered up to the trainer's head, staring quizzically. He hovered around before resting on the shoulder and nuzzled up against Ash. The Alolan Champion just gave a soft pat on the bird's head before discovering the fully evolved form of the Rookidee.
Hawlucha was no stranger to mentoring his hatchlings since he helped in raising Noivern when the Soundwave Pokémon was a Noibat. Even according to Professor Oak, the Wrestling Pokémon had adopted a few of his own like Infernape had. The masked avian had a strict training regiment like Buizel that most of his offsprings followed.
[Abra, the Psi Pokémon. This Pokémon uses its psychic powers while it sleeps. The contents of Abra's dreams affect the powers that the Pokémon wields.
Gender: Male
Ability: Inner Focus
Moves: Teleport]
Abra was sleeping, not surprising Ash has the telepathic fox was known for only teleporting at his current state. But he remembers how tactical Alakazams are and even Mega Evolve. The Psi Pokémon had also been one Ash wanted to find but never got the chance due to their illusive ways.
[Sableye, the Darkness Pokémon. It feeds on gemstone crystals. In darkness, its eyes sparkle with the glitter of jewels.
Gender: Male
Ability: Stall
Moves: Leer, Fake Out, Astonish, Confuse Ray, Shadow Sneak, Disable, Detect, Fury Swipes, Knock Off]
Sableye scampered behind a rock, scared of Ash. Hawlucha managed to convince Darkness Pokémon it was fine and the purple gremlin revealed himself fully. A few seconds later, the Dark/Ghost-type was satisfied and hugged Ash's leg. This made the trainer smile and pat the purple gremlin's head. He had never really considered owning a Sableye but he still welcomed the Darkness Pokémon.
[Croagunk, the Toxic Mouth Pokémon. Inflating its poison sacs, it makes an eerie blubbering sound for intimidation.
Gender: Male
Ability: Dry Skin
Moves: Poison Sting, Mud Slap, Astonish, Flatter, Revenge, Venoshock, Sucker Punch, Swagger]
Croagunk was laidback, having an indifferent look on his face. The poisonous frog lazily looked up to the trainer before going about his business. Ash wasn't sure if the frog was okay with him but Hawlucha provided some gentle gestures that confirmed the Toxic Mouth Pokémon was fine with him. Ash even remembered how often Brock's Croagunk appeared and Poison Jabbed him whenever he flirted so the trainer was in the clear if he was to ever do that since he wasn't constantly flirting.
[Pancham, the Playful Pokémon. There's no point to the leaf in its mouth, aside from an effort to look cool. It's mischievous, so it's not well suited to inexperienced Trainers.
Gender: Male
Ability: Iron Fist
Moves: Tackle, Leer, Arm Thrust, Taunt, Circle Throw, Low Sweep, Work Up, Slash, Vital Throw]
Pancham crossed his arms, revealing he was a rebel. Unfortunately, the panda was scolded by his avian dad which made the former sulk in defeat. Eventually he opened up to Ash, showing he liked to act tough. Meeting all those Pangoros back in Kalos made Ash think about the possibility of getting one. But he needed to learn how they evolved.
[Timburr, the Muscular Pokémon. Timburr that have started carrying logs that are about three times their size are nearly ready to evolve.
Gender: Male
Ability: Guts
Moves: Pound, Leer, Low Kick, Rock Throw, Focus Energy, Bulk Up, Rock Slide, Slam]
Timburr was one of the Pokémon Hawlucha had adopted. The Muscular Pokémon trained excessively to the point Hawlucha had to chime in and reprimand so he wouldn't become exhausted. Thinking ahead, the log-wielding Pokémon never did cross Ash's mind other than Trip's Conkeldurr, so he was partially interested in raising one. Timburr looked proud of himself and wanted to be strong.
[Machop, the Superpower Pokémon. Its whole body is composed of muscles. Even though it's the size of a human child, it can hurl 100 grown-ups.
Gender: Male
Ability: Guts
Moves: Low Sweep, Leer, Focus Energy, Knock Off, Vital Throw]
Machop was another one of Hawlucha's adopted offspring. Ash had wanted the Superpower Pokémon for a while now, having seen the impressive strength they possess. Right now, the light gray humanoid Pokémon was like his other adopted brother, and was training to be stronger.
[Pawniard, the Sharp Blade Pokémon. It uses river stones to maintain the cutting edges of the blades covering its body. These sharpened blades allow it to bring down opponents.
Gender: Female
Ability: Inner Focus
Moves: Scratch, Leer, Fury Cutter, Metal Claw, Torment, Scary Face, Assurance, Metal Sound]
Pawniard simply sharpened her scythes, hardly sparing a glance. The Wrestling Pokémon pulled her attention away from training and managed to get the Sharp Blade Pokémon to acknowledge her trainer. She got along with her Sneasel cousin as they both seemed like determined hard working females and wanted to be strong. Grasping at the fact Bisharp were fast and agile, Ash grew excited about the potential.
[Tyrogue, the Scuffle Pokémon. It is always bursting with energy. To make itself stronger, it keeps on fighting even if it loses.
Gender: Male
Ability: Steadfast
Moves: Tackle, Helping Hand, Fake Out, Focus Energy]
Like Infernape, Hawlucha had taken liberty in adopting his own Tyrogue. Hawlucha's liked to train with the two others but he strived to create a balance between his offense and defense options. He also had a sense of rhythm while he practiced his coordination and footwork.
Goodra apparently had some great fathering skills. Ash figured it was due to his time at the wetlands and learning with Florges. Before Ash's journey in Kalos came to an end, Goodra decided to stay with Ash permanently since he was fond of the trainer. Ketchum didn't mind, even learning the fact that Goodra was the pseudo-legendary of Kalos. The slimy dragon was also a great help with Bulbasaur, acting as a peacekeeper.
[Skrelp, the Mock Kelp Pokémon. Skrelp looks like a piece of rotten seaweed, so it can blend in with seaweed drifting on the ocean and avoid being detected by enemies.
Gender: Male
Ability: Poison Touch
Moves: Tackle, Water Pulse, Smokescreen, Acid, Tail Whip, Double Team, Poison Tail]
Skrelp leaped out of the water before landing. The Mock Kelp Pokémon tilted his head quizzically at the sight of the human. Goodra explained to the brown seahorse that Ash was his trainer and Skrelp went wide-eyed. He began to hop around ecstatically before puffing his chest proud. Ash smiled, having wanted the Poison/Dragon-type during his trip to Kalos but refrained. Thinking about it now, a Skrelp would have worked well in Valerie's gym.
[Deino, the Irate Pokémon. Lacking sight, it's unaware of its surroundings, so it bumps into things and eats anything that moves.
Gender: Male
Ability: Hustle
Moves: Headbutt, Focus Energy, Dragon Breath, Bite, Roar, Assurance, Work Up, Slam, Crunch]
Deino had a tendency to headbutt everything, like the Pokédex said. Ash was careful as he knew the Irate Pokémon was blind during this stage. After getting his surroundings, the Dragon/Dark-type nuzzled up to Ash and the trainer was happy to pet the blind dragon. The idea of a Hydreigon for him was possible now and Ash couldn't be happier for Deino.
[Bagon, the Rock Head Pokémon. Bagon is a solitary Pokémon that doesn't form groups with others of its kind. It also has a head hard enough to cleave a boulder in one strike.
Gender: Male
Ability: Rock Head
Moves: Ember, Leer, Bite, Dragon Breath, Headbutt, Scary Face, Crunch]
Bagon was relentlessly training. After all, the Rock Head Pokémon wanted to be strong and eventually reach his dream of flying. Ash remembered that Bagon can eventually evolve into Salamence and was the other pseudo legendary of Hoenn and was amazed at the fact that Goodra had the young dragon himself.
[Jangmo-o, the Scaly Pokémon. They learn to fight by smashing their head scales together. The dueling strengthens both their skills and their spirits.
Gender: Male
Ability: Soundproof; Overcoat (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Headbutt, Leer, Protect, Dragon Tail, Scary Face, Work Up, Screech, Iron Defense]
Jangmo-o was snoozing before being woken up. He yawned and stretched his body before bounding over to Ash. The Scaly Pokémon looked up and brushed up against Ash's leg, which earned him a scratch in between his scales. Ash remembered that Jangmo-o was the pseudo-legendary of the Alola region and wanted one. And since Goodra had the hatchling, Ash had all the pseudo-legendary Pokémon in the eight regions.
[Magikarp, the Fish Pokémon. Famous for being very unreliable. It can be found swimming in seas, lakes, rivers and shallow puddles.
Gender: Male
Ability: Swift Swim
Moves: Splash, Flail, Tackle]
Ash couldn't help but find the Pokedéx to be a bit harsh when it came to the description of Magikarp. While yes, the orange fish was more than useless, the idea of getting a Gyarados blossomed in Ketchum's mind. The sea serpent was a Pokémon that had come to fear but also like, and he remembers how powerful they can become under the right training. But for now, Magikarp flopped around in the lake were he resided.
Ash sat down, exhausted for the day. He was sitting on the couch over at Oak's, resting from the assortment of babies he had dealt with the past 11 days. Meeting each and everyone made him feel better, knowing that the parent Pokémon had done well raising each of them.
"Ah, Ash!" Oak said as he saw the boy.
"Hey Professor," Ash greeted as the regional professor noticed how he was relaxing.
"So I take it, you are all done with learning about the baby Pokémon?" Oak assumed.
"Yeah," Ash confirmed, "... I got to admit, I was surprised by the amount of Pokémon but I love them all. And I was glad to meet them all."
The last part made Oak chuckle, confusing Ash.
"What is it, Professor?"
"Well…" Oak sheepishly scratched his neck, "You have met almost all of the baby Pokémon.
"Almost all?"
"Yes, my boy," Oak said.
Ash was stumped at this. Was the professor trying to be funny or did he actually forget some? "Who did I miss?"
Oak shifted his eyes slightly which Ash turned to see who Oak was mentioning. And his eyes…
Met Pikachu.
"What?!" Ash exclaimed in shock. He didn't expect Pikachu to have any Pokémon babies of his own. The Mouse Pokémon himself was nervously sweating as the trainer found out that his best friend had children. "How?!"
"Well," Oak mentioned, "It's hard to describe. Sometimes when you arrive home before or after your trip, I presume Pikachu sneaks off and has bred with a few Pokémon. I only know this because I monitor all the Pokémon on the ranch."
Ash could only stare wide-eyed at the fact Pikachu had offspring. If he didn't know any better he would have thought the mouse was avoiding responsibility. But he dropped it for now and asked Pikachu to introduce him to his children.
Pikachu after reluctantly agreeing, decided to introduce his own litter of children. Ash still couldn't wrap his head around the fact that his best friend had offspring but he eventually let it go. And among them all, Ash was surprised and definitely glad to meet them.
[Pichu, the Tiny Mouse Pokémon. The electric sacs in its cheeks are small. If even a little electricity leaks, it becomes shocked.
Gender: Female
Ability: Static; Lightning Rod (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Thunder Shock, Tail Whip, Play Nice, Sweet Kiss, Nuzzle, Nasty Plot]
Pichu instantly warmed up to Ash, running up to his shoulder and nuzzled up to him. Ash couldn't help but chuckle: like father, like daughter. Pikachu could only sweatdrop before getting the Tiny Mouse Pokémon of his trainer but she wouldn't budge. It took a combined effort of both trainer and father to get the baby off, much to her dismay. This got Ash thinking about have two Pikachus and maybe one into a Raichu.
[Cleffa, the Star Shape Pokémon. Because of its unusual, starlike silhouette, people believe that it came here on a meteor.
Gender: Female
Ability: Cute Charm, Magic Guard; Friend Guard (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Splash, Charm, Pound, Copycat, Sing, Sweet Kiss, Disarming Voice, Encore]
Cleffa bounced up and down nonstop. With the trainer meeting her and seeing her dad again, she couldn't contain her excitement. Pikachu managed to calm her down and successfully introduced the Star Shape Pokémon. Ash's mind thought back to the Clefairy line, notorious for their Metronome, a risky move that has both benefits and drawbacks.
[Igglybuff, the Balloon Pokémon. Taking advantage of the softness of its body, Igglybuff moves as if bouncing. Its body turns a deep pink when its temperature rises.
Gender: Female
Ability: Cute Charm, Competitive; Friend Guard (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Sing, Pound, Copycat, Defense Curl, Sweet Kiss, Disarming Voice, Disable, Charm]
When Ash saw Igglybuff, he froze up and remembered the singing Jigglypuff that followed -and terrorized in his words- with her singing. Of course, Igglybuff didn't seem that malicious so he relaxed himself. The small Balloon Pokémon floated up and landed on Ash's head and rested there for a while before chirping with joy.
[Togepi, the Spike Ball Pokémon. It is considered to be a symbol of good luck. Its shell is said to be filled with happiness.
Gender: Female
Ability: Serene Grace
Moves: Metronome, Charm]
Seeing Togepi, Ash was met with tons of flashbacks during his travels with Misty and Brock. The little Spike Ball Pokémon was just as clueless as Waterflower's cheerful and full of life. Ash rocked the small Fairy-type which made her chirp with joy. Although Ash never thought of raising one on his own, he liked the Spike Ball Pokémon.
[Plusle, the Cheering Pokémon. Plusle always acts as a cheerleader for its partners. Whenever a teammate puts out a good effort in battle, this Pokémon shorts out its body to create the crackling noises of sparks to show its joy.
Gender: Male
Ability: Plus
Moves: Nuzzle, Play Nice, Growl, Thunder Wave, Quick Attack, Spark, Encore, Skill Swap, Swift, Electro Ball]
Plusle was full of energy, hopping all over the place. He emitted two yellow electric pom-poms and did a cheerleading routine. It seemed he had experience in controlling his electricity. And with his sister, he would be an electrifying duo.
[Minum, the Cheering Pokémon. Minun loves to cheer on its partner in battle. It gives off sparks from its body while it is doing so. If its partner is in trouble, this Pokémon gives off increasing amounts of sparks.
Gender: Female
Ability: Minus
Moves: Nuzzle, Play Nice, Growl, Thunder Wave, Quick Attack, Spark, Encore, Switcheroo, Swift, Electro Ball]
Minum was the timid sister to the energetic red Cheering Pokémon. She hid behind her brother before getting encouraged by her father to greet Ash. The bashfully blue Cheering Pokémon eventually grew comfortably around Ash to the point she generated her own blue spark pom-poms.
[Azurill, the Polka Dot Pokémon. The ball on Azurill's tail bounces like a rubber ball, and it's full of the nutrients the Pokémon needs to grow.
Gender: Female
Ability: Huge Power
Moves: Splash, Water Gun, Tail Whip, Bubble Beam, Charm, Slam, Bounce]
Azurill hid behind her dad, scared like the many other bashful offspring. After Pikachu explained what was going on, Azurill hopped over to Ash with a curious gaze. The trainer gave a slow pat that escalated into a playful rub as the Polka Dot Pokémon started to enjoy it, much to her dad's delight.
[Skitty, the Kitten Pokémon. Skitty has the habit of becoming fascinated by moving objects and chasing them around. This Pokémon is known to chase after its own tail and become dizzy.
Gender: Female
Ability: Cute Charm
Moves: Fake Out, Growl, Tail Whip, Tackle, Sing, Attract, Disarming Voice, Fury Swipes, Copycat]
Skitty was an energetic kitten that couldn't help but warm up to Ash instantly. The Kitten Pokémon proved to be affectionate and loved the attention much to her dad's dislike. He managed to get the pink cat to stop being spoiled, leaving a pouting feline but she relaxed herself.
[Pachirisu, the EleSquirrel Pokémon. It makes electricity with pouches in its cheeks and shoots charges from its tail. It lives atop trees.
Gender: Female
Ability: Pickup
Moves: Growl, Baby-Doll Eyes, Quick Attack, Charm, Spark, Nuzzle, Swift, Electro Ball]
Pachirisu climbed onto Ash's shoulder, like her younger sister did before. She was energetic and let loose excess charges that slightly shocked the trainer. Pikachu managed to inform her of her discharges and the Sinnoh squirrel climbed down and shared her discharges with her dad. Ash was thoroughly thinking about Dawn's and her use for contests.
[Happiny, the Playhouse Pokémon. It loves round, white things. It carries an egg-shaped rock in imitation of Chansey.
Gender: Female
Ability: Natural Cure
Moves: Minimize, Pound, Copycat, Defense Curl, Sweet Kiss, Disarming Voice, Covet, Charm]
Happiny clapped her hands together before Pikachu introduced her to Ash. The Playhouse Pokémon immediately hugged Ash's leg before the mouse had to pry her off. The pink egg carrying Pokémon eventually did so and Ash decided to pick her up. He never had seen many Chansey lines as they are infamous for being rare and remembered that Brock's was quite the powerhouse before evolving and he was interested in what she could bring to his team.
[Emolga, the Sky Squirrel Pokémon. This Pokémon absolutely loves sweet berries. Sometimes it stuffs its cheeks full of so much food that it can't fly properly.
Gender: Female
Ability: Static
Moves: Nuzzle, Tail Whip, Double Team, Quick Attack, Thunder Shock, Charge, Acrobatics, Spark]
Emolga flew onto Ash's shoulder, being the third to do so. She was a bundle of joy, not mischievous like Iris'. The flying squirrel even showed off a bit, showing her attacks and flight capabilities. Pikachu had an impressed look on his face as his daughter had control of her Electric-type moves.
[Yamper, the Puppy Pokémon. This Pokémon is very popular as a herding dog in the Galar region. As it runs, it generates electricity from the base of its tail.
Gender: Male
Ability: Ball Fetch; Rattled (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Nuzzle, Bite, Roar, Spark]
Yamper wagged his tail happily and nuzzled up to his dad, exchanging charges. Then he barked at Ash and got belly rubs. Reading up about the Galar puppy, he found out it evolves into a dog called Boltund which seemed fast. Ash was very interested in seeing the evolved form sometime in the future.
[Toxel, the Baby Pokémon. It manipulates the chemical makeup of its poison to produce electricity. The voltage is weak, but it can cause a tingling paralysis.
Gender: Male
Ability: Static; Klutz (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Belch, Tearful Look, Nuzzle, Growl, Acid, Flail]
Toxel seemed to be the youngest in the group. Reading the Pokédex, Ash frowned as he had to keep his distance from the baby Poison-type, considering the chemicals with his sacs. The Alolan Champion was even interested in the evolved form: Toxtricity with would evolve into two different forms depending on its did his best to introduce the Baby Pokémon to the trainer and Toxel, in total disregard to what his father had previously said, climbed onto Ash's shoulder. Surprisingly, the Electric/Poison-type didn't make the trainer numb so he was fine. Pikachu also sighed in relief before the day ended.
And a content Ash made his way home for the day, having met everyone of the offsprings his team has had over the years. And perhaps, he would visit the Galar region.
A/N: Finally. Glad I got all the baby Pokémon out of the way now. Been busy with work and recently got in the mood for writing this story again. Now for his adventure, I have been thinking about making it a Journeys rewrite with just Ash traveling the regions, catch some new Pokémon along with bonding with the older and newer ones. Much like Shadow Fennekin's "Pokémon Journeys: Legends Reborn."
