A/N: As I said in the chapter before. not all the events that happened in movies or comics will happen in this story.
I watched him struggle before I removed my fingers from his temples. Taking a deep breath as I took a step back.
"Where is Tony now?" He asked, concerned.
"He's currently making his way back towards here. With Nebula, that is Gamora's sister, the one Thanos killed to get the soul stone for. He will be running out of water before the month ends. We need to figure out how to get him here faster." I replied, frowning at the thought, as my stomach began to churn painfully in anxiety.
He stared at me, confused but allowed me to get lost in my mind, as I turned to stare out the window as I discreetly tried to soothe my whirling stomach.
"What's on your mind, my love?" He asked me.
As I debated whether or not Nebula would help by being here, or become a hindrance in the future.
I hated to say this but it had to be done.
"We need to get rid of her. She is a liability. She will endanger us all if she gets a chance." I explained, looking out the window.
"What do you mean?" He asked me confused.
"She has some sort of a camcorder. It records everything she sees. That is a liability. She is also known to be the daughter of Thanos. She will betray us if he needs her to." I explained, calmly.
"Is there a chance that she will?" He asked, doubtfully.
"More than a chance. Thanos killed Gamora to get the soul stone. That was Nebula's sister. While she does wish to get her sister back, who's to say she won't turn on us? She needs to be either neutralized or we have to keep a close eye on her." I replied, firmly.
I could feel his stare as I debated once more, clenching my fist as my stomach grew uncomfortably tight.
"What about Tony and the others?" He asked.
"For now, all we can do is hope we can save everyone on time. Starting with Nat." I said before I moved to walk out of the room.
"What do you mean to do with this information?" He asked me as I reached the door.
I sighed, turning to look back at him before answering. "I mean to fix what has broken, before it's too late." I replied before walking out.
As I walked out of the room, and I to the larger sitting room, my brother, Clint, and Nat rushed towards me.
"Oh, thank God, you are ok." She said in relief, as she pulled me into a tight hug.
Her brows furrowed as she brought me closer to her, only giving me a concerned look as she pulled away from me, her eyes flickering down my body, with concern.
I snapped my fingers, to gain her attention, causing her eyes to snap to mine, before silently begging her not to start.
"Are you alright?" She asked, concerned.
"I am. I am more worried about everyone else than myself at the moment. Is everyone alright?" I asked, as I looked them over.
"A bit worse for wear but altogether fine." She replied, as she looked back at where Charlie, and Jamie sat, along with Eli, Billie and Nina talking closely amongst themselves. "Are they alright?" She asked me softly.
I knew she wasn't talking about the children who sat before us. So, I swallowed thickly before nodding at her in response.
"Does he know yet?" She asked, looking at me concerned, as her eyes flickered down at my concealed abdomen.
"No, and we can't worry about that now. We have to focus on what needs to be done now." I replied, rolling my shoulders as I tried to relieve the tension I felt on my back.
"Eyas, Steve needs to know, and soon from the looks of it, you can't just pretend that it's not there and hope it'll disappear." My. Brother said, giving me a stern look.
"I know, Clint. Believe me, I know. I just haven't been able to tell him because he's been gone for the last eight and half months. Plus, you know, now isn't the moment to talk about this. We need to find Tony. We have to figure out who else survived this thing. When all this is over, I'll talk to him about it…" I hastily said, looking away from them, as I clenched my fist to keep me from rubbing my concealed stomach.
"You do know that there is a large possibility that this is going to bite you in the ass, you do know that right?" Nat pointedly asked.
"What is?" Steve asked, suddenly appearing behind me.
"My plans." I replied, interrupting whatever my brother and Nat we're going to say.
"How so?" Steve asked, concerned at me.
I wordlessly turned to look at the kids, with a concerned look again. "It's what we discussed earlier… it's the only way." I explained, keeping my eyes on Nat and Clint, silently telling them to back off.
"What are the chances we can convince you otherwise?" He asked me, a concerned look crossing his face as he stared at me.
'Slim to none.' I thought, rolling my eyes at him.
"I was just telling Marie that she shou— oomph!" My brother said, as Nat elbowed him in the ribs, before shaking her head at him, with a glare.
"What is going on? What are you hiding from me?" Steve asked, frowning as he turned towards me.
"Nothing." I replied, turning away.
A pain at my side appeared as I looked away, causing me to stiffen as I did so.
Hoping nobody noticed, I slowly turned towards Pepper and Pietro only to wince as another pain followed closely after.
Nat was at my side in an instant. "Looks like the time just ran out." She dryly noted, as she guided me back to one of the many rooms in the building.
"What the hell is going on?" Steve asked, confused as Nat led me away, with the help of Pietro.
"So, you have 'nother bun in oven, eh? Did the Cap know? Because I'm pretty sure he knows now." He commented amused, his accent thickening as he spoke.
"Shut up." I gasped as I felt the ache reappear.
"How far apart are they?" Nat asked, as she led me into the room.
"Five minutes apart. I don't know." I gasped.
"Pietro, go tell Pepper she needs to boil water immediately. Tell Clint that I need towels, lots of them. I also need you to make a quick trip to the store." She said as she helped me lay on the bed.
"Got it." He muttered, before disappearing.
"Ok, how are we doing?" She asked me as she helped pull my boots off my feet.
I shook my head l, trying to breath in deeply, as the next pain hit. "Need to —push soon. Help me —take my pants —off." I breathed.
She nodded, as she stared at my stomach confused. "Why can't any of us see your stomach?" She asked.
"Ill—Illusion." I replied breathlessly, as I closed my hand.
As soon as my hand closed, the illusion lifted, and my stomach protruded in the blink of an eye.
"Teper' ya vse videl." She muttered, in Russian, looking at me wide-eyed. (Now I have seen everything.)
She helped me pull off my pants and underwear, before she checked me. "You're dilating too quickly. The baby will be here before the water is done boiling." She muttered concerned as she placed a blanket on my lap.
"Stay calm. I'll be right back." She said, patting my leg as she quickly left the room.
Just as she left Clint walked in with Steve.
"Steve." I breathed, before continuing my breathing exercises.
"I'm here, sweetheart. I'm here." He said as he kneeled next to the bed.
"I'm sorry I kept this from you. I tried many times to tell you, but I couldn't. Not with everything that was happening."
"Shh. Everything is going to be ok. I promise." He said as he leaned in to kiss the top of my head.
"How did you manage to hide that bun in the oven from all of us? I didn't even know until a week ago." Clint muttered, looking at me concerned.
Steve turned to look at Clint, with a semi amused expression before he spoke. "It was simple really. Your sister and I were only able to communicate via text message, video calls or phone calls. I can't see her in the phone calls, or text message, and for video calls she kept the camera above her shoulders, so I never noticed." Steve said, looking at me with an inquisitive expression.
"It also helps that I can make you see what I want you to." I whispered, breathlessly.
"This talk isn't over. I need to head back and check on the kids. Nat will be in shortly." Clint said as he turned and left the room.
I sighed, dropping my head onto the pillows.
Steve quickly helped by adjusting the pillows so I could be in a comfortable position, before sitting down next to me on the bed.
"Do you know what it is?" He asked me quietly.
I shook my head at him, as I felt another pain hit. "Wouldn't let —the doctor see— through the ultrasound." I replied in a groan.
"It'll be over soon…" he said as he kissed my forehead again.
Just as Nat and Pepper walked into the room.
"Alright, who's ready to have a baby?" Nat asked as she moved the blanket to check again.
"Ah-Ah." I groaned, dropping my head back onto the pillow.
