Summary:

It's the first day of class at Republic City High this year. Two bickering siblings on the front door meet an airbender from the Southern Air Temple.

Let's meet some of our young heroes; Aang, Katara, and Sokka.

[Slightly re-worked on 12/28/2021]

A/N: New chapter! Christmas special! I've written this all over Christmas Day because my mind just keeps circling over this. I need closure LMAO

Some divergence from the canon:

- Aang was never told he is the Avatar at age 12 because there's no war going on

- Gyatso is also alive :0

- Aang's airbender friends aren't a**holes who left him because they're jealous. Also because they never knew that he is the Avatar anyway.

- Ages: Aang just celebrated his 13th, Katara is 14, Sokka is 15.

Some dialogue in this chapter has been pulled straight from the series and I don't claim that I own them. Credits go to the series creators and all the awesome people behind its production. This fanfic will never be possible without the series' existence. :

AANG

Aang is in his sleeping quarters, feet in the "lotus position", fists against each other. He was meditating.

He opened one of his eyes. This isn't working at all. He tried breathing deeply and tried meditating again.

A couple of minutes in. It's no use. Something is bugging him. He groaned.

Aang honestly doesn't know what to feel. He already told Monk Gyatso that he would be ready to go to Republic City and start a new chapter of his life, but he still feels conflicted about his decision. He was considered a protégé by the elder monks and had to attend Republic City High.

Flashback - 2 Weeks Ago

Aang was in a room with the High Monks. He was given a poster for Republic City High.

"Republic City High?" Aang tilted his head.

"It is one of the most respected schools around the world." one of the monks answered.

"And we want you to be a part of it."

"W-Why? A-Are the monks, not enough? T-They are great teachers." Aang is slowly growing wary, thinking that he will have to leave his friends behind.

"They are great, but you have so much potential, Aang. You being the youngest to master airbending is a sign of your greatness."

"You'll have so many opportunities to be what you want, and be so much more in there."

"You have shown us your exceptional talent as an airbender, and we wouldn't want to waste it."

"We deem that you are competent to be a part of this institution."

Aang tried to interject.

"But–"

"We only want what is best for you."

"We believe that you can develop yourself further outside the temples. We will be glad if you study there."

Aang sighed. He looks defeated.

"I'll...I'll think about it."

Later, the young airbender can be seen somewhere outside the South Wall, continuously thinking about the offer the monks have given to him.

Even though he wanted to study outside the Southern Air Temple, he didn't want to leave his friends behind. Four years of not being able to physically see them, four years of not being able to play airball with them, it can feel lonely.

One of his air nomad friends saw Aang frown in the corner. "Hey, Aang! A-Are you okay?"

He then saw the poster the airbending master is holding. "Republic City High?! The monks are offering you to study there? That's awesome, Aang!"

"You...you're not mad?" Aang is confused. They would surely hate him when he takes up the offer, right?

"Of course not! We're all hoping to study there someday!" another friend of his added.

"I-I mean, wouldn't you hate me because I'm leaving you guys?" his frown is growing.

"Why would we be mad?" his friend tapped his shoulder. Aang looked at his friend.

"It would be a shame not to see..." his friend's other hand making an imaginary rainbow, "the youngest airbending master in the world, study at such an awesome school!"

"We can always see each other through Babel." he referred to that 'application' on their phones.

[Quick A/N: Babel was the project name for Google Hangouts, now Duo]

"Plus, we have Jinju over here to play with us while you are gone." his friend pointing to a goofy air nomad, smoke behind him for some reason. Jinju is nodding.

Aang chuckled.

"T-thanks guys. But that just makes it harder for me to leave." Aang pouted. His friends chuckled as well.

"Oh, so you want us to hate you?"

His friend then made a grumpy face.

"You are a disgrace to the air nation, go away!" his friend said in a voice that Aang could recognize to be mimicking Monk Tashi's.

He heartily laughed. They smiled.

"We want to be just as best as you, but it doesn't mean that we have to be unfair to you."

"C'mon, show the world how great southern airbenders are!"

Their friendly conversation continued throughout the afternoon.

Later that night, Gyatso could see a pensive smile on Aang's face.

"Aang, you seem to be in a better mood."

Gyatso could read Aang's emotions pretty well. He is in a better mood today, thanks to his friends reassuring him that they will be there for him.

The spirits have been kind to him.

"Gyatso, I have decided.

I-I'm going."

It is customary for air nomads to study at the temples and be home-schooled their entire lives. But it would be a shame if an extremely prodigious airbender like him, who got air mastery tattoos at the age of 12, didn't take up the chance to study at what the four nations consider as 'one of the most esteemed schools'.

He couldn't ask any of his friends from outside the temple either. Bumi will be homeschooled as he is apparently the crown prince and future king of Omashu. Kuzon decided to stay and study at a university in the Fire Nation as he aspires to be a commander for the United Forces. He sighed deeply, he'll probably have to do this on his own.

On the brighter side, maybe this can be an opportunity for him to meet more friends outside the Southern Air Temple, where everyone just knows everyone. New faces, new personalities, maybe even meet the new Avatar in there.

Oh yeah, being the Avatar. He overheard the monks discussing the possibility of him being the next Avatar a year ago, but won't confirm anything until Aang reaches the age of 16; which he will be in three years.

Flashback - 1 Year Ago

Aang was walking across the temple's halls one afternoon when he overheard the High Monks, including Gyatso, discussing him.

"How do we know that he is the Avatar?" Aang heard Monk Gyatso, concerned about his apprentice.

"He is very talented, airbending is just a natural element for him" one of the monks answered.

"He even picked the four Avatar relics when he was a child as his toys."

"Haven't you considered that these are toys? They might have just looked fun for him."

"He picked them because they are familiar." answered by who can Aang recognize as Tashi.

"Why rush telling him, then?" Gyatso is growing concerned over the monks' eagerness to tell Aang, especially this early.

"We cannot afford another trouble where the Avatar unveiled itself before he turned 16."

Aang was crushed about this discovery. Just the thought of being the Avatar already shatters him. What about the responsibilities that come with it?

"Yangchen and Chesa accidentally discovered that they were the Avatar at such a young age. What are the chances that Aang would do–"

Gyatso objected.

"I cannot let my pupil know that he is the Avatar if we are not certain and if it's not the right time for him. We have known that our ways of identifying the Avatar can fail. Just look at what happened during Avatar Kyoshi's time."

"I know you mean well, Gyatso. But don't let your affection towards him cloud your judgment." Monk Pasang told Aang's mentor.

Gyatso deeply sighed.

"Aang needs to have freedom and fun. He needs to grow up as a normal boy. I want him to experience being an air nation monk. The Avatar's notoriety at this time...is against virtually all of our beliefs and traditions. I want him to know when he is ready."

Pasang hummed.

"He is very wise for his age. He wouldn't let his inhibitions trigger the Avatar State before he is ready."

"You cannot keep protecting him–"

"Very well." Pasang interrupted Tashi's outburst. The room was quiet for a while.

"We would allow you to continue training the young airbender. We will ensure and tell his identity when he turns sixteen."

"Thank you. All I want is what is best for him."

Aang ran as quickly as he can to his quarters. Still shocked at what he heard from the monks.

Later that night, Gyatso visited the young airbender in his room. About to wish his pupil a good night.

"Gyatso?" Aang managed to speak up.

"Yes, Aang?"

"I-Is it true? A-Am I the Avatar?" Gyatso was stunned at the child's question. He must have overheard their conversation earlier.

Gyatso sat in his bed, facing him.

"Aang–"

"M-Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe I just liked the same toys the Avatar likes. Maybe I–"

Gyatso cut off his rambling. The old monk put a hand to the young bender's shoulder.

"Aang, I know you are concerned about...all of this. But we are still not certain that you are."

"But what if I am? How do I know if I'm ready for this?"

"Answers come to the right people at the right time. But I can promise you that we will tell you if you are when you are ready.

I cannot let them take your childhood away from you. Enjoy being a kid first, and we'll figure out everything else later."

"Together?" a tear escaped from Aang's eyes.

"Together." the two had embraced for as long as they could remember.

Aang doesn't want this, he just wished to be a simple monk just like his mentor. He doesn't want the attention, he doesn't like that people always look up to him, maybe it will even drive his friends away.

There are just too many responsibilities the Avatar holds that it's too overwhelming for him. He couldn't afford to fail, or he'd fail the whole world. It will fall into his hands when he becomes the Avatar. It's just too much. It's driving him crazy. He wants to run away.

His rambling mind was promptly stopped when Monk Gyatso walked into his room.

"Are you ready, Aang?" Aang just sighed.

"Sure...I guess. I'll just say goodbye to Appa and Momo." Aang gloomily said, picking up the single backpack he would be bringing.

At the temple, he was taught to avoid earthly wants and attachments as much as possible. What he has in there is (almost) the bare minimum. A couple clothes, a few traditional air nation robes, his phone, and a flute Gyatso gave him on his anointment day as an airbending master. Oh, and he hadn't forgotten his staff; an airbender's 'best friend' (except for their air bison, of course).

"Who told you that you have to say goodbye to them?" Gyatso smiled, Aang raised his eyebrow.

"You mean–"

"Yes, we'll be bringing Appa and Momo with you."

Aang's smile reaches through the roof. He tightly hugged Gyatso.

"Thank you so much, Gyatso! You're the best!" The old monk returned the embrace.

Aang fetched his air bison, Appa, from the stables. His lemur companion, Momo, was sleeping on the bison's head. The young airbender tightly hugged the bison.

"Have you heard, Appa? You're coming with us!"

The bison let out a groan, which Aang interpreted as a sign of satisfaction. The lemur chirped along with Appa. The two air nomads then flew up to the massive bison. Aang sat on its head.

"'Ya ready buddy?" Aang excitedly asked.

Appa let out another groan. Momo leaped up to the young airbender's shoulder.

Aang glanced at Gyatso, who was seated on the saddle, near him. The old monk returned a smile. Aang looked back to his bison.

"Appa, yip yip!"

The huge bison groaned and flapped its tail. In just moments, they are flying towards the northeast.

This is it. His life is about to change.

KATARA

It was early in the morning in a home just outside the bustling Republic City. Two siblings, Katara and Sokka of the Southern Water Tribe, have moved to the United Republic of Nations ever since their mother died due to a riot at the tribe's square six years ago.

Their father, Chief Hakoda, has been a member of the United Forces and hasn't been able to be with them for months. He said he was supposed to be with them for a couple of weeks and even accompany them on Katara's first day at school. But their reunion was quickly canceled when his unit was confronted by criminals on the outskirts of Yu Dao.

Sokka isn't exactly new at Republic City High. It's his second year and he was accepted due to his proficiency at using non-bending weapons such as the boomerang and the club. It also helped that he is the son of the current Water Tribe chief, although he refuses to believe this, saying "they just see the natural talent that I have".

Katara was surprised when she got accepted at the school. It is extremely challenging for waterbenders to attend because there were just too many of them applying for a slot. She still remembers the day the acceptance letter came as if it was yesterday.

Back to the present day. Sokka can be seen, still snoozing on his bed. Katara is already dressed in her casual Water Tribe clothing. It's the tail-end of summer at the Republic, and it can get blazingly hot at times. It feels that you are being burned alive by a firebender.

Katara tried to wake her older brother up.

"Sokka."

The young warrior just returned a grunt.

"Sokka. Wake up."

Another grunt.

"Sokka,"

"...just give me five more minutes."

"We're going to be late!" her blood is starting to boil. Out of all routes Sokka could choose, he picked the sarcasm route.

"Then go to the school yourself."

That's it. Katara tried to bend water from the cup near their bed. Then splashed Sokka with it. Her older brother shrieked at the contact with cold water.

"Ugh! Why am I always the target of your magic water?!"

"First, because you need to get your lazy butt up because we're getting late. Second, this isn't 'magic', it's waterbending! It's–"

"Yeah, yeah, 'ancient art unique to our culture' blah, blah, blah."

Katara sighed.

"Just get ready."

"Waaaaaay ahead of you, little sister." the waterbender groaned at his brother's antics. He may be older but he certainly doesn't think like one.

Breakfast can be lonely without their father around. But their grandmother, Kanna, has always been there to accompany the siblings in the Republic.

"These seal jerky are...delicious! Better than...those blubber ones...Auntie Ashuna makes!" Sokka exclaimed in between bites of the popular Water Tribe delicacy.

Katara chuckled. She remembered the time 'Auntie' Ashuna's seal blubber jerky broke her tooth.

Meat is a staple of Water Tribe families. Due to the harsh cold of the poles, they cannot afford to grow wheat or rice. They can be very expensive as they have to ship them from the Earth Kingdom. Instead, their sustenance involves a lot of protein.

"Hey, no talking while the mouth is full." Kanna, told her young warrior.

The morning was uneventful for the most part. Besides talking about Sokka's aspirations for the year (which Katara knows that he wouldn't do), the siblings discuss the electives they will choose in the future, and Katara is excited to attend high school.

It was until Kanna spoke up about their father.

"I'm sorry that your father wasn't able to make it in time." Kanna frowned. Katara returned a sad smile. Sokka put a hand on his young sister's shoulder.

"I-It's okay, Gran-Gran. I just hope that he's safe."

The moment was interrupted when someone called Katara's phone, her smile beaming. It was Chief Hakoda, calling through Babel. Katara answered the call and put the phone in front of them.

"Dad!" the siblings answered in unison.

"Katara, Sokka!" their father greeted from what seems to be the inside of an airship.

"W-We miss you." tears are welling up in Katara's eyes. Sokka tried to comfort her.

"I-I miss you too, a-and I'm sorry that I'm not able to be there for you. Especially you Katara." The young waterbender nodded.

"I'll make it up to you. Both of you. I promise that I'll go there once all of this is over. No pit stops at the Southern Water Tribe, no nonsense talks with the commander. I'll go back home as soon as I'm free." They agreed. Hakoda tried to smile.

"Will you promise me that you'll be good at school?"

"Yes, dad." Katara smiled.

"Well, I'm a pro at doing–swoosh!" Sokka tried to throw an invisible boomerang. Katara chuckled. Hakoda sighed.

"I never thought that you two would grow up. I still remember the days when you two will play in the snow at the South Pole." Hakoda shed a tear. He sighed again.

"If you need anything, just call me. Okay?"

"Yes, dad." the two siblings answered.

It's hard for Hakoda to end the call.

"I-I should get going."

The call has ended.

"Well, you two should get moving. I don't want you both to be late the first day!" Gran-Gran told Katara and Sokka. They gathered their backpacks and walked through the door.

"Bye, Gran-Gran! We'll see you at dinner!" Katara waved to the old woman. Sokka waved back as well. Their grandmother returned the gesture.

Katara deeply sighed, a smile creeping up to her face. This is going to be one of the best days of her life.

Until it wasn't. For some reason, Sokka couldn't remember the route to walk to Republic City High. He claims that the city has changed since their vacation.

"Seriously, Sokka?"

"Well I haven't walked here for 3 months–"

"It's just three months." Katara groaned.

"Well maybe if you just 'researched' the way around here, we wouldn't get lost."

What?

"So this is my fault?"

Sokka shrugged.

"I'm just saying that if you are more responsible–"

"Responsible?! You're telling me that I'm irresponsible?"

"I mean, you have to be more responsible less like a man, and more like a woman."

"And what's that supposed to mean?!"

"I don't know, maybe help out the man more in this mission? I already do the planning, the..." Sokka tried to think, "...planning, you should be–"

Katara is getting indignant.

"Oh, said the one who doesn't help in the chores."

"Hey, I help!"

"Ever since mom died," she pointed to herself.

"I've been doing all the work around the house while you're out there, playing with your 'teammates'."

The siblings hadn't realized that they were already walking towards the school's front doors. Other students are looking at them during the heat of their bickering.

Sokka finally noticed.

"Uh, Katara?"

"I even wash all the clothes! You dared to join soccer but you can't even clean your socks! Have you ever smelled your dirty socks? Let me tell you, it's not pleasant!"

Katara is just boiling with anger towards her brother. If they are in an ocean, she would be making gigantic waves. Sokka's esteem is getting smaller by the second.

"Katara?"

"You are the most sexist, immature, nut-brained...ugh! I'm embarrassed to be related to y–" her outburst suddenly stopped when the wind seemed to have tackled both of them. This made the young waterbender yelp and fall down on her older brother.

The offender in question is rather short. He seems to be wearing air nation clothing, a rare sight in the Republic. The boy's hands, as well as his bald head, are covered in light blue arrow tattoos. The boy frantically stood and spoke up.

"I-I'm so sorry! I was trying to find the administration's office that I m-must have bumped into you."

The young boy offered his hand and asked, "Are you okay?". Katara's blue eyes were met with the boy's gray orbs.

Katara finally noticed their surroundings. They are apparently at the front door of Republic City High. All the students are looking at them. The waterbender's face flushed red at this discovery.

"What are you looking at?!" Katara's outburst flowed past Sokka and onto the onlookers around the hall. The other students have dispersed.

Since when are they here?

"I-I'm okay. T-Thanks." she softly smiled and stood up on her own. Sokka followed up and brushed up his shoulders.

"Administration's that way." her brother bluntly pointed towards the west. She hit him with her elbow.

"Ow!"

"We're just about to go there as well. You should come with us." Katara invited the young boy. Sokka furrowed his eyes and pulled her to the corner.

"Well I didn't know you have a boyfriend." her older brother teased.

"He's not my boyfriend! I'm just trying to help, that's all."

"But what if that guy just takes our purses and leaves?" Sokka pointed to the young boy, who apparently is just looking around the hall.

"For sure. You can really tell by that evil look in his eye," she said sarcastically. Both of them looked back at the boy, he just returned an earnest smile.

Katara lightly pushed her older brother and motioned the young boy to come with her. He seemed reluctant but joined anyway.

"Katara!" Sokka called out.

Katara tried starting a conversation with, what's his name?

"So, you may have heard my brother call me. I'm Katara."

The young boy smiled, "N-Nice to meet you, Katara."

She then pointed her thumb backwards, "That is my paranoid brother Sokka."

"Hey!"

The two giggled.

"So, you're new around here?".

The boy hummed.

"Yup! It's my first year at Republic City High. I never thought that this school would be this big."

Katara excitedly answered, "Me too!"

Their conversation continued for a couple more exchanges until she paused.

"Wait. You never told us your name."

The boy seems to be sniffling.

"O-Oh! I'm A...a–a–a–Achooo!" Katara's eyes widened. The boy sneezed and was sent backward. He landed softly and ran back towards them, he seems to be unharmed.

He sniffled, "I'm Aang." the airbender said with a smile.

"D-Did you just fly backward?" Sokka is in total disbelief. Aang nodded.

"Well, that tells me that you're an airbender."

"Sure am! How about you?"

"I'm a waterbender and Sokka's–"

"A boomerang-bender!" Sokka showed off the boomerang he is carrying. The young warrior showed off his skills.

Katara just sighed. Aang seems to be interested.

A minute later, they have arrived at a large door with an 'Administration Office' sign next to it. Katara turned to Aang.

"We're here. Are you going to take your schedules as well?"

Aang nodded. The three entered the room. They were greeted by a woman named Joo Dee, the school's secretary.

"Are you here to take your schedules?" The woman said with a huge smile on her face. It does look creepy at times but that's how she acts. Katara shrugged.

Both she and Aang nodded.

"Please give me your name, young boy."

"Aang."

Joo Dee looked at the pile of documents on her side. Aang must be familiar to her.

"Oh! Aang of the Southern Air Temple. The principal expected you to see him." Aang seems uneasy.

"S-Sure."

"Right this way." Joo Dee motioned to the door at the side, with the sign 'Principal/Guidance Counselor'.

"Thanks."

AANG

He is nervous. Did the monks tell the principal about him? He slowly walked towards the door and opened it.

"Oh, Aang of the Southern Air Temple! I was expecting you." an old man answered from the room's other end.

"H-Hello." the young airbender tried smiling.

"Would you care for some tea?"

"S-Sure. Thanks."

The old man brewed some tea. Aang's eyes wandered around the room.

"Please, sit down."

Aang sat down in the chair. He saw the nameplate on the table. It reads:

Iroh

Principal/Guidance Counselor

Principal Iroh handed out a cup of tea to him. "Jasmine, calms the nerves."

"Thanks. Uh...Principal Iroh." Aang bowed towards the principal, now named Iroh.

"Oh, no need for honorifics. Just call me 'Uncle' Iroh."

Aang nodded, "O-Okay, Sir–Uncle Iroh."

"So," Iroh sat back down to his seat, "it's been months ever since we have seen an airbender in here. The last one graduated just this year!" Principal Uncle Iroh told the airbender.

Aang doesn't know what to say. He took a sip of the tea Iroh gave him. It truly is relaxing. The principal observed the boy.

"You seem to be so young to be in here, how old are you?"

"I just turned thirteen." Iroh lightly gasped.

"And you have those air mastery tattoos?"

"Since last year."

Iroh smiled and looked away from him. Aang is starting to worry. Did he say something wrong? Shouldn't he be–

"I'm not surprised now why the Air Nation Council wanted you to study here."

Aang raised his eyebrows.

"The council can be...very picky about the air nomads they send here to study. "Either they are very talented,"

Iroh glanced back at Aang and said, "or they may be the Avatar."

Aang's eyes grew wide. Did the monks really tell the principal about that?

"You seem to be very talented."

Aang relaxed.

"Welcome, Aang, to Republic City High!" the old man excitedly said to him. He nervously laughed.

"I-It's a pleasure to be a student at this esteemed institution." Aang bowed, formally this time, to Principal Iroh.

"I really hope that you enjoy your stay here. If you need anything, you can have a cup of tea with me here." the principal smiled at him.

"I-I will. Thanks." He smiled back.

Just before the young airbender exited the room,

"W-Wait, Aang." He turned back to the old man.

"So, how was the tea?"

"T-The flavor is deep, the jasmine flower seems to be nicely-picked, and it's truly relaxing."

One of the activities Aang and Monk Gyatso enjoyed doing was tea-tasting. The Southern Air Temple has a huge tea garden and is one of the most ideal places to pick the finest tea leaves.

Iroh hummed.

"That's terrific to hear. Now, off you go!"

Aang nervously smiled, then exited the room.

He was met with Katara and Sokka waiting for him. He can't help but gaze at Katara and be lost in her deep ocean-colored orbs.

He doesn't want to admit it, at least right now, but he was entranced by Katara the first time they saw each other. She is gorgeous, she has both the strong waves and gentle tides of the ocean, she is–

"Here's your schedule, young man." his thoughts were interrupted by Joo Dee as she handed him his schedule.

KATARA

Katara swiped the piece of paper Joo Dee gave Aang, "Let me see that."

Her looks ranged from excitement,

"So we have 1st, 3rd, and lunch together. That's awesome!"

Disappointment,

"Aww, not me being on my own in Chemistry." she pouted.

"I-I can teach you."

"You know chemistry?" she raised her eyebrows.

"Well, I don't. But the monks teach a little bit of them in the temples." he flashed a lopsided grin. Katara found it somewhat endearing. She chuckled.

And confusion.

"You have no bending classes?" Doesn't Republic High offer airbending classes?

"Principal Iroh told me that I'm the only airbender this year, so maybe that's the reason why they don't have airbending classes?"

"So what are you planning to do during your free time?"

Aang shrugged, "I-I don't know, maybe I'll just go to the library."

Katara can hear her brother shuddering from behind. He told her some 'horror stories' on how Republic High's librarian is too scary and too weird and too strict. She hasn't visited it yet, though. Maybe it's just the latter.

The three of them exited the office and were about to go to their first classes when Sokka spoke up.

"Hey, what's with the tattoos?"

"Sokka!" she was mad at her brother's question. They just met Aang, why such a question?

"What?"

She doesn't want to admit it, but she too is interested in the young airbender's tattoos. She couldn't help but stare in wonder at the light blue, arrow-shaped tattoos that adorn Aang's head and hands. That must have been painful.

"Oh, these? These are airbending mastery tattoos."

"Mastery tattoos?" Katara tilted her head.

"Uh-huh. We air nomads get these when we master airbending."

"So you're telling me, that you mastered airbending already?" Sokka asked Aang.

He hummed and nodded.

"Well, I technically just mastered 35 techniques," The airbender fidgeted his fingers.

"But I created the air scooter!" the airbender happily said. He then makes a circling motion with his hands, and out was a sphere of air that he jumped onto. The ball of air zoomed across the halls, Aang seems to be very happy riding it.

It looks amazing. She never thought that an airbender like him would be studying with her in the Republic.

The bell rang in the hall. Aang stopped trotting around with his air scooter. Shoot.

"What was that?" The airbender asked the two.

"Oh no, we have to be in our classes in a minute. We're going to be late!" Katara and Sokka started running, panic on their faces.

"Why not just ride on my air scooter? It's fast enough." Is he being serious?

"What do you—" she couldn't even finish asking when Aang grabbed her and her older brother onto the air scooter. It is moving too fast.

"Where are we going?" Aang excitedly asked.

"To the left, the left!" Sokka panically said.

"Hold on tight! Woohoo!" The ball of air quickly veered to the left.

This is the start of the craziest years of their lives

A/N: And we're cutting this from here! The chapter got quite very long because of the flashbacks, but we'll be seeing more from our heroes, especially Sokka and a special firebender next chapter. :

But for now, thanks for reading, and have a great evening!
