I remember writing a story in my diary about how much Sakura was like a leaf because of the emerald color of her eyes, so I thought of Edward's gold eyes and got this. How Edward is like gold. My first clue in their relation was 'the Philosopher's stone creates gold in real alchemist history' but then I thought 'wait – it doesn't in FMA', thus I had to pick some new ideas. When I refer about him being arrogant and spoiled I meant as he would in the beginning act towards Lt. Ross. And I mean Winry is his finish because she perfects him (his arm and leg). Okay, I'm writing a longer explanation then my fiction. Please review!

Edward Elric was a lot like gold.
The two were alluring, gleaming under the sun's rays and sparkling with a haughty arrogance, spoiled with the fact that they were the idol and liable to snub those who tried to say otherwise.
And yet both were filled with a determination and will to fulfill these goals they were set on, a firm dedication that earned them their title.
And others noticed and sought this.
Under the layer of grit was that golden stone, waiting to be discovered and claimed, eyes be able to feast upon its quality and perfect its shine until its glint caused infatuation on even the gods.
But had Edward known he had been branded with metal limbs years ago perhaps it would not be that way. Maybe the lime light would be too tart, or his gold exterior would melt away to reveal silver and the comfort of a home.
Azure orbs would always renew her claim with a wrench and worn fingertips pleading for his safety and her own assurance, but the begs never went completely through and bounced off of his cold surface.
If Edward Elric was a lot like gold, Winry Rockbell would continue to be his finish.
