Quick note:

This is the first story I made/started making. I started working on this story for some time now, around 5 months. I gone over and over the chapters I've worked on, because I wanted to take pride in my writing. At first, the writing quality and detail weren't that great, but the quality improved gradually as I went over and over, reading it through. Another reason I started writing this is because I was and still finding it very difficult to admit I'm a brony, because I didn't know what other people would think of me. I hope with this story, I'll slowly find it easier to say I'm a brony to other people, at least on the internet. One other reason I started writing this story, is because I saw that there weren't any MLP RQ crossovers, and I just thought 'Hey let's be the first to write a My Little Pony and Rainbow Quest crossover fanfic!' So everything plays out more different and interesting, I decided to use a fanmade steve as an antagonist (a completely broken and overpowered one, but has a really nice lore to him. The OC I chose to put in has one of, if not, the best lore I seen on a fanmade Steve). I have many reasons for starting to write this fanfic, both personal and general reasons. Anyway, enough of the note. You came here to read a story, not a note about someone struggling to admit their a brony XD.

A summary before the actual story:

It has been a year since the defeat of Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow. It also has been a year since Celestia and Luna retired and Twilight become ruler of Equestria. With Twilight now being a ruler, she couldn't see her friends as often. Being a ruler also had a lot of responsibility, such as making sure everypony prospered, which Twilight was very good at, but it was also very exhausting. Being a ruler had put a lot of strain on Twilight very recently. One day in the afternoon, the strain became too much for Twilight to handle and she passed out in the middle of the hall that led the the throne room as she was originally walking back to the throne room. She was soon later found unconscious by Flash Sentry. Hs quickly alerted more members of the Royal Guard and they were able to rush Twilight to Ponyville Hospital. Twilight ending up in hospital was beginning to trend over a lot of the newspapers across Equestria. Everypony was concerned that Twilight may of had a massive heart attack. Later, the doctors in Ponyville Hospital were deeply relieved to find that Twilight didn't suffer a heart attack, just that she had massively overworked herself. Twilight was able to amazingly recover very quickly and was able to leave Ponyville Hospital almost as quickly she got there. Once Twilight got back to Canterlot Castle, it was the evening and she was incredibly tired. Before going to sleep, Cadence offered Twilight if she would like to have a break. Twilight and Cadence then talked about the idea. Twilight was hesitant about taking a break as her duty was being a ruler. Twilight felt like she would let Celestia and Luna down by taking a break and she wanted to show everypony that she was a strong leader that always puts everypony else before herself, just like Celestia and Luna did. However, Cadence noticed just how overworked Twilight was. Cadence knew that Twilight would keep on going until she literally worked herself to death unless persuaded to take a break. Eventually, Cadence manages to convince Twilight to take a break.

(The next day)

From today, Twilight would be taking at least a week off from royal duties. For the week, Cadence would run Equestria on Twilight's behalf.

With the week to have a well deserved rest, Twilight decided to spend her whole week with her friends by doing various different stuff together.

Right now, it was a boiling summers afternoon in Equestria. Twilight and Spike are currently looking for somewhere to have the picnic for her and her friends, walking along a stony path with pebbles and dust that was between Fluttershy's cottage and the rest of Ponyville. Twilight was carrying with her magic a large red and white square picnic blanket as well as 2 picnic baskets, full of food, ranging from apples and sandwiches to cupcakes and sweets. Spike was carrying another basket, that baskets had all the drinks.

"You okay Twilight?" Spike asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Twilight quietly replied.

"What's wrong?" Spike responded with another question, who noticed that Twilight sounded very quiet.

"I feel slightly selfish for taking this break. It's meant to be my duty to rule Equestria and keep everypony happy. I feel like I've used my collapse yesterday as an excuse to have the break," Twilight sighed. Twilight greatly cared for Equestria and everypony, she always had put everything before herself, especially since becoming ruler. For Twilight, it felt weird that she was thinking about herself first and not others, which is why she felt selfish about taking the break.

"Twilight, everypony needs a break every now and again. It isn't selfish to have a quick break. I think with the work you have put into Equestria over the past year, you definitely deserve one," Spike thoughtfully replied.

"Thanks Spike, that makes me feel better," Twilight replied, smiling slightly.

(1 minute later)

"Where should we set up the picnic Twilight?" Spike asked.

"Somewhere that has a lot of shade. The weather is very nice, but it is definitely very hot," Twilight replied.

"Hmm... oh wait, what about that tree over there?" Spike suggested, pointing at a tree with a finger. The tree Spike pointed at had a very thick layer of green leaves and massive solid branches and twigs, offering a very nice, breezy patch of shade, away from the bright and scorching sunlight. Twilight and Spike walked off of the path they were walking on over to the shade that was offered by the tree Spike suggested. The 2 immediately felt a difference in heat.

"You've selected the right tree Spike," Twilight said as she smiled.

"Yeah, it's way cooler here," Spike replied, in agreement with Twilight.

Twilight laid down the picnic blanket, Twilight and Spike then put down the picnic baskets on top of the blanket before they sat down.

Fluttershy's cottage wasn't too far away from the picnic area Twilight and Spike chose. Fluttershy was casually walking down the dusty and stony path at a steady, normal pace. Once she saw Twilight and Spike, she immediately trotted off of the path, onto the grass towards the tree Twilight and Spike selected to set up the picnic. Rainbow Dash was flying above the clouds, looking for Twilight. As soon as Rainbow Dash saw Twilight with Spike and Fluttershy underneath the tree, she gently dived down and hovered herself towards the chosen tree. Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rarity soon turned up, using the same path Fluttershy used, but coming from the opposite direction Fluttershy came from. Everypony was now all there, sat down in the shade underneath the layers of leaves of the tree, all around the picnic blanket.

"Hey darling, are you okay? I've heard what happened yesterday" Rarity politely asked.

"I'm feeling good Rarity, especially that I'm seeing all my friends again. How are you?" Twilight asked back.

"I'm feeling very fine. I got loads of work done in my boutique recently," Rarity replied.

"Nice to hear that the boutique is doing nicely," Twilight responded. Rarity nodded.

"How is it ruling all of Equestria on your own?" Fluttershy asked in her usual, low, quiet and soft voice.

"It's real hard work, especially that I'm often on my own. There's also so much responsibility and it's nice to have a break from it, especially since... you know," Twilight answered.

"Yeah, I can imagine sugarcube. I can somewhat relate when I have the chance ta catch a break from workin on Sweet Apple Acres. But what I do is simple straightforward work compared ta what ya doing. We're all very proud of ya and ya deserve a well-earned break," Said Applejack.

"I'm just happy that I get to spend all day with you all. I really miss you all," Twilight replied.

"We miss you too, I and everypony here is happy that you're doing okay," Rainbow Dash replied.

"Anyway, let's start eating-" Pinkie Pie was cut short. 7 purple square-shaped portals opened directly on the mane 6 and Spike. Several other of them portals opened up all over Equestria as well as in every different reality out there (not just in the MLP reality, but all realities). But luckily, no one or nopony else was as unfortunate as the mane 6 and Spike. The mane 6 and Spike were instantly teleported to a world that was made mostly of metre by metre blocks. They were all in a Minecraft plains biome, with green grass blocks with some oak trees dotted about here and there. It was also the afternoon in this world, like in Equestria.

"What in tarnation just happened!?" Applejack yelled, confused, changing the direction she was looking in several times as well as the rest of the mane 6 and Spike was too, inspecting their surroundings.

"Why is everything just cubes?" Twilight wondered.

"Even the animals here are cubes... and oblongs too," Fluttershy responded, pointing her left hoof at a herd of 8 brown and white cows in the distance that was by a massive oak tree, which the logs and leaves were also cubes.

"What just happened Twilight?" Spike asked, panicking slightly.

"I don't know what just happened! I think we had just been taken to another world or something! I... I don't know!" Twilight exclaimed as she began to freak out. Twilight felt like it was her fault that she accepted to take a break, maybe if she didn't, maybe this wouldn't of happened. Twilight could only think about how in Equestria she and her friends would ever get home.

Several bolts of lightning then began appearing nearby, startling the mane 6 and Spike. When the lightning died down, a figure appeared. It had a cube-shaped head with a very wide oblong body that had arms and legs that were also oblongs. The mane 6 and Spike had no on who or even what this figure is. The figure is completely pitch black, having pitch black hair and had several dots and dashes of different shades of grey all over his body. He has grey fingers and had orange feet as well as having orange eyes with red pupils and having a dark grey mouth and a light grey nose. The figure then let out an unsettling, distorted laugh.

"Do you mind!?" Rainbow Dash yelled, looking at the figure. The figure then glared at the mane 6 and Spike.

The figure just levitated up in the air, not saying anything. It then looked down to the ground. Just by looking, it caused the ground to crack, leaving roughly a 70 block drop to the bottom, where lava was. Luckily, everypony moved out the way just in time.

"It's not friendly!" Twilight shouted as her horn glowed purple as well as giving an angry look as she glared at the figure. She then shot a purple plasma-like beam of magic with full force at the figure. It simply stayed still whilst in the air, right in front of the beam. Twilight continued firing the beam off for 10 more seconds until she finally stopped. However, the figure was still intact, not taking any damage whatsoever. It wasn't even knocked back. Whatever the figure was, the mane 6 and Spike definitely knew it wielded immense power and magic.

"No... you can't be... this powerful!" Twilight fearfully stuttered, stepping backwards as did everypony. The figure then torn space and time above the mane 6 and Spike, creating a rip. Lava then began to pour out of the rip. The mane 6 and Spike immediately tried to ran away with Rainbow Dash trying to fly as fast as she could without losing sight of everypony else. But before they could do so, the figure completely stopped time. It flew infront of where everypony was running and faced towards them. It then resumed time.

"I can meddle about with time. Don't think you can get away while I'm around. If I wanted to right now, I could destroy you all within an instant," The figure emotionlessly said in a tone unlike anything they or anypony had heard. The figure's voice was distorted beyond the line of unsettling, there was also a slight echo in the voice, adding to the unsettling tone of the figure. The only option for the mane 6 was to use their friendship magic. Maybe then, it will leave them as well as Spike alone.

"Everypony, you know what to do," Twilight said as she and the rest of the mane 6 held their hoofs together. The figure guessed whatever the mane 6 were trying to do was meant to stop it, so the figure simply paused time again. The figure then separated each of the mane 6 from each other and put them all on the ground. The figure then resumed time. The mane 6 were confused as to what happened, they were just holding forehooves, now they weren't.

"What the!? No! How!?" Twilight shouted, frustrated as well as now clueless on what to do now, especially that this mysterious, dangerous figure can counter their friendship magic. By now, the mane 6 and Spike know they definitely have a new bad guy on their hooves.

"You're all powerless. I can mess about with time, you all can't. It's pointless to try and resist or flee," The figure replied.

"We'll find a way to stop you! You may be able to mess about with time and all that, but we'll find a way! Bad guys never win, no matter what!" Rainbow Dash shouted as she flew close to the figure, pointing her left hoof at him whilst frowning at the same time.

"Alright, challenge. You all find a way to stop me within two weeks, then fair play. Fail to do so... for me to know and something you all DON'T want to find out. By the way, I can do much more... much... MUCH more! Byeeeeeeee!" The figure's laugh echoed as he disappeared without a trace. Rainbow Dash immediately flew back away from the lightning that was being summoned as it left.

"He... what... the... what was all that about!?" Rarity stuttered in shock, completely baffled as to what that was all about.

"I don't know... that was... insane!" Twilight exclaimed.

"His voice... he gives me the creeps..." Applejack quietly said, who was feeling very unsettled from the encounter with the figure.

"We need to warn somepony!" Pinkie Pie screamed at the top of her voice. Everypony nodded in agreement, but Rainbow Dash had some concerns.

"We don't know anypony here! What if everypony in this world is just like that thing!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"Surely not everypony here is bad," Fluttershy responded, trying to think positively in a bad situation. Everypony began walking. Even Rainbow Dash was walking instead of flying, trying to avoid being caught by anything else bad out in this weird blocky-looking world.

After spending hours of walking, they eventually stumble across a village. It is the Steve Village, the village that Sabre, Dark Steve and Time Steve live in. They didn't approach the front, they approached the rear of the village, where the cemetery and the stone and birch wood house that is near the cemetery.
