Akuma means 'devil' in Japanese while Kurai means dark.
The next day, Adrien was still upset with his father because of last night. Sure his father held a grudge against bad guys that took his wife's life away but that doesn't mean it will bring her back.
He shook his head to focus on something else while he's getting his books from his locker. But he felt his arm getting dragged by his best friend Nino who dragged him to the boys' bathroom since Nino wants to know what's wrong with his dhampir friend acting so lovey-dovey at Marinette.
"Dude, I think I know why you've been a doofus today" Nino smirked.
"Uhhhh….what makes you say that? I'm….just….being human" He backs away and ended up against the wall and slowly levitated himself when there's no room to get away from Nino.
"It's getting really obvious you have feelings for Marinette," Nino said.
"I swear, I'm not hiding anything. And I just think Marinette is very cute. Agh! I mean, beautiful! I mean gorgeous! I GIVE UP!" Adrien levitated down due to the embarrassment, "Give me tomato juice!" He quickly snatched the can of tomato juice from Nino and quickly takes a sip to calm himself down from the stress and heartbeat.
"Dude, calm down. I know you're in love. That doofus face of yours proves that it's love at first sight" Nino said.
The dhampir gulped hard to swallow the thick liquid of juice, "Okay, I am in love but she doesn't know that I'm a dhampir. I can't just lie to her for what I am not. Even if I have to disobey my father"
"This is gonna get hard, unlike when you revealed yourself to me and Chloe," Nino said.
"It took you guys 3 days to get used to me. And it took you a week to get used to my lack of reflection only on silvery mirrors. This won't be any different to Marinette." Adrien stared at his reflection in the regular mirror.
"Go talk to her then," Nino said.
"What should I say?" Adrien was nervous since he has no idea what he should talk about to Marinette.
"Well, I don't know, think about it," Nino said.
"One of these days I'll hypnotize you if she freaks out that I have fangs for biting" Adrien mumbled in defeat and walked out of the bathroom.
"Got it" Nino nodded.
Marinette was at her locker, putting her backpack in.
"Hey Marinette" Adrien walked to her.
"Ah! Oh hey, Adrien" Marinette jumps in surprise.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to spook you. Are you feeling okay?" He asked since she's a little pale from what she discovered last night.
"I'm fine Adrien. Just saw a horrifying movie last night" She lied.
Adrien believed her but it looked like she either had a nightmare or something else but decided to believe her excuse, "Okay, whatever it was, better not watch it in the dark" He said.
"Yeah, that was stupid" Marinette replied.
"Well, I'll see you in class, Marinette," Adrien said.

After school was over, Adrien was talking to Nino when all of a sudden, he saw Marinette distracted again and was not looking when a car was about to run over. He had no choice but to use hyperspeed to get her out of there without anyone seeing him since they can't see him going fast in the blink of an eye.
"Oh! Adrien?" Marinette looked to it was Adrien holding her.
"You really need to watch where you go," He said.
"How did you?" Marinette was very shocked at whatever he had just done in the blink of an eye.
"Just came by and saw you walk over, I had to run over to save you," Adrien said.
"But that's impossible. No person can run that super fast. But….uh….thank you for saving me, again" Marinette pretending she doesn't know he's a dhampir.
"You're welcome Marinette. Mind if I walk with you home?" Adrien asked.
"Uhhhh….sure. By the way, do you like macaroons?" Marinette asked as he walked on the sidewalk with him and that the bakery is not that far, just right next to the school.
"Well, sadly no" Adrien said.
"I got some at the bakery," Marinette said.
"Nino told me that your parents are the best bakers in Paris. Is it true?" Adrien asked.
"Yeah, we are" Marinette nodded.
"I never tried macaroons because my father makes me stay on a strict diet," Adrien said as they both made it to the bakery.
"Well you got to make some exception one day," Marinette said, "Hi Dad. Hi mom" She greeted her parents.
"Hey, sweetie. Oh, you brought a friend" Sabine noticed a handsome boy with her daughter.
"Yeah, this is Adrien," Marinette said.
"Adrien? As in the boy on the Agreste company?" Tom guessed.
"That's right. But I'm on a break from the photo shooting" Adrien said.
"Ah I see" Tom understood and resumed his work. Marinette picked some macaroons for herself and Adrien.
"Define how delicious they are, Marinette" Adrien wondered.
"Try it and you'll find out," Marinette said and took a bite of hers.
Adrien shrugs and took a bite out of the macaroon, "You're not kidding, these are great" Adrien smiled.
"Best bakery in Paris, Mr. Agreste" Marinette giggled at his reaction.
"You're too funny Marinette" Adrien chuckled.
"Um thanks" Marinette chuckled, "One of these days you're gonna have to gain freedom than listen to your strict father," Marinette said.
"And learn new things one of these days too" Adrien chuckled.

After spending a little time with Adrien and that he went home, Marinette was on her way to the apartment to go talk to her master but she didn't want to tell him that her partner is a dhampir. It was a big shock last night but he did save her life a few times as a civilian.
She knocks on the door and Master Fu lets her in, "Greetings Marinette. How is Adrien doing as the cat holder?" He asked.
"He's doing great and incredibly charming like a prince. Agh! I mean like a hero!" She laughed nervously, "Anyways, last night was something new to us. One of my classmates turned into a monster but now he's not a monster anymore. This dark shadowy bat thing was like a source or something that came from his headphones that turned him into a werewolf. Was there something like this in the history?" She asked.
Her master was very surprised at what she's talking about, "That's not good news, Marinette. I believe that whoever possesses the bat miraculous, it's a very powerful weapon to use to send shadowy bats known as kurai. What you say that your friend turned into a werewolf, these kurai can sense negative emotions from victims and evilize them into monsters. You are familiar with Halloween monsters, correct?" Master Fu said.
"Yes, like Count Dracula, the prince of darkness," Marinette said.
"And bats are the creatures of the night. Like your ladybug miraculous brings good luck and the black cat brings bad luck." Master Fu said.
"So whoever possesses this bat miraculous is trying to scare people away or to terrorize the city?" Marinette asked.
"Perhaps terrorize mostly. But you have to be careful when the next one might appear" Master Fu said.
"Don't worry, master. Cat Noir and I will handle this. After all, we did defeat one" Marinette said.
"Good. Keep it up and he may succeed in keeping the miraculous" Master Fu said.
"I hope so, Master. Adrien needs all the freedom he needs in his...nine lives." Marinette giggled but hopes that this dhampir boy is worthy of it.
After all, he's the perfect partner she needs to protect her. As a civilian, he has saved her twice from being run over.
"Keep him company as much as you can as a civilian and as a hero," Master Fu said.
"Thank you Master Fu" Marinette bowed.
"You're welcome" He bowed back.
