Once at the Carnival they all meet in the middle by the Ice Garden where there's a beautiful fountain carved to perfection decorated with lights of different blues other sculptures were there too some were of angel sits a beautiful scene. A bit further back there's a huge ice slide That they just finished trying only it didn't go so smooth since Usagi slipped and knocked everyone down it before they were ready Haruka and Ami got the worst of the landing in the end now while rubbing her hip Haruka has the carnival map out for everyone to choose what to do next.
I watch Haruka she has Hailey close to her and has barely spoke or payed attention to Ami and I shes been mostly talking to Hailey sometimes even whispering to her whats with her? Its not like her to be this way I'm not jealous am I? No I shake that thought from my mind she just not acting like herself and I wonder why?
I notice Usagi watching Haruka intently maybe shes waiting to find out what we are all doing next my back still hurts from the Ice slide the way we all landed was in a big knotted pile of which Haruka and I were at the bottom Ami rubs her back its still tender.
My thoughts are interrupted when I hear Haruka say her and Hailey are going to the Flash back fun part of the park where rides from way back when are located like the original bumper cars, carousel, tunnel of love and many more have been fixed up they are running for a limited time Thorn and Jade are headed to where the shops and live shows are Rio Mei and Ava are going back to the wild side where all the rough and worse rides you can dare try are.
"Where are you and Ami going Odango?" Haruka asks gently.
"Ummm with you and Hailey it sounds fun Haruka."
"Ok then right this way." I feel Hailey put her hand in mine as we lead the way to Flashback of fun.
"Are you sure your ok with going to Flashback instead of the Wild rides Haruka?" She whispers low.
"Sure thing Hailey I already have had a big day and your back isn't better yet from the slide eitherso I am fine going here with you how about you and I go on the tunnel of love." She replies in a low whisper to Hailey ear.
"Haruka that would be so romantic Id love too I hear its supposed to be beautiful the way they recreated it I cant wait to see." She whispers while leaning closer.
"You and Odango go ahead and have fun Hailey and I are going to go this way we will meet up with you two later ok?"
"But"... They were already off walking hand in hand I turn to Ami "we need to find out what has Haruka acting so weird, we barely see her and shes on holiday for a short time and shes barely paying attention to us and we all came here to spend time together!"
"Usagi we will see her later she said so and there's so many fun things here from different carnivals in history its amazing" the next thing I know we are in a line up just three places behind Haruka and Hailey I notice its all couples and look ahead and my eyes grow wide "Usagi this is the tunnel of lo lo love" my face already feels flushed. "We cant go in there its.. its for"...
"Ami your my friend and I love you so its fine" I keep a grip on her hand so she cant try to leave plus it does look like a neat ride I have never seen anything like it I watch as other couples ahead get on colourful boats that float on clear blue water and sail in too a heart shaped tunnel gee I cant wait.
"Usagi this ride is not that kind of lo"... But before I can finish a gentlemen in a cheerful voice directs us to a boat not far behind Haruka and Hailey my whole body feels flushed I cant even look up as I sit beside Usagi in the boat and look at the floor with my hood nearly right over my eyes to hide the deep blush in my cheeks.
"Look Ami we are moving wow the music is nice last I heard this song was the slow dance Darien and I did." Shaking the thought of him from my mind. "Its kind of dark in here though hey look at the pretty pictures you can at least see those like that one of the sunset and shining sea."
"Uh ahem Usagi back in the 19th century when public affection between un married couples was not allowed these rides were made too encourage them to cuddle to".. I see her watching in shock or surprise two boats ahead Haruka and Hailey were very close indeed and kissing plenty "Usagi shes in love that's what has her distracted I could of told her that without going in here as I try to ignore the rash I know is now on my arm from all this."
"Now I know for sure she has love for her not just a crush... But wait shes supposed to be with Michiru their team work is important is this a good thing that shes in love with Hailey what does it mean Ami?"...
I continue to brush the ashes and pine needles out of my aqua hair I have no idea who all those other women are and it really don't matter to me I cant help but smile Haruka saved me her lips I felt them breathe air in to me she loves me I just know it even if she denies it I could feel it.
"Michiru hurry up we don't have eternity you have been in your room all day we have company coming tonight and I want you ready and at the dinner table on time do you hear me?"
"Sigh yes mother I accomplished as much as I could although Theo did knock a few times and distracted me at a few moments when I had to tell him I was busy so that did put me a little off my schedule you will want to lecture him on the importance of not breaking my concentration."
"If what you say is true then he will be told but I still want to see you at the dinner table on time looking your very best."
I hear her walk away putting down my brush she has no idea of where I have been today and its best she never does if she saw this mess I am in shed do worse then yell I look at my desk its a mess too with the extra academic work yet to finish and I have a lot of music to finish and some of my drawings are mixed in of my dreams or visions. I lift up the picture I have of Haruka I don't know everything that's going on with her but I wont give up on her setting my robe down on the chair better get in the shower taking another look at all the work yet to do I don't think I will be sleeping tonight I pick up my fresh dress and head to my bathroom...
I don't know how Usagi and I managed to avoid having Haruka or Hailey see us when we were off the ride but we did and they have no idea we were even there at all now we are in line at the carousel and Usagi's question is a good one about Haruka relationship but I have no answer about if it changes anything at all.
Ami and I get on the carousel and its decorated like a fairy tale with its majestic white horses each with colourful designs I hop on one and Ami beside me. Thoughts of everything circle in my mind I am not sure what any of it means for the scouts. As the ride slowly starts to move I force a smile.This will be fun!
As cheerful as shes trying to be I can tell that Usagi is worried and is trying to hide her concern I spot the gold ring hanging on the ride I remember reading something about that if you can get it you can win a prize but I know I am not tall enough when the ride ends Usagi and I head for the games.
I aim the gun and hit as many balloons as I can including the sales guy oops! He gave Ami and I both a teddy bear and moved on to the next people in line after that we went to the tank where the guy in it was saying mean stuff and no matter how I tried not one of my baseballs hit the target at all!
Ami with one try hit the target with a loud ring and she watched as the guy fell in the water with a splash! Good thing the games are in this warm tent or he'd freeze! The lady gave her a beautiful glass doll wearing a blue dress her eyes open and closed and she has a bonnet that covered most of the raven black hair.
Soon Usagi and I had our arms full of prizes and had to get two bags for each of us to hold the stuff animals and candy along with a few posters and sheets of stickers. "I think we did well Usagi" soon my phone went off with a text from Haruka that we all meet soon to have dinner. "Usagi we have a few minutes before we go meet everyone we could go on one more ride."
I set my bags down its the first time I had won so much and I just love the bunny poster I got but the bunny stuff animal is my fave. "You can pick the next ride Ami" I try to keep a smile on my face but its getting hard...
I finish the final touches to my aqua hair I have it neatly tucked in yet another kind of bun I then add a little perfume then put on the locket Haruka gave me having it close to my heart helps me. With one glance at the time on my phone I knew that my mother would be at my door if I didn't get downstairs for whatever company awaited opening my door for the first time today I walk down the stairs and make my way to the dining room where there are more people then I expected they are all introduced to me as members from Theos family they apparently are excited to meet me I feel Theo put his arm around my waist and pull me close I try to move away only to have his mother come stand on my other side and lead me to a seat beside hers.
I help Michiru take her seat between my mother and I as the rest of my relatives talked with her about our family background and how they cant wait to hear her play the violin tonight I hold her hand under the table.
I try to take my hand from Theo cold sweaty grip while listening to his grandfather speaking of the rich history ugh I am trapped between him and his mother when dinner comes its a relief because I could get my hand out of his I go to lean forward and take the plate that had crab cakes on it from Theo then the worst happened he leaned in at the same time and kissed me right on the lips I gagged and tried not to show it as everyone else was saying look at the two love birds I wanted to slap him on the face!
I am a very lucky man to have a beautiful girlfriend like Michiru grandfather shes one of a kind and not just because of her musical talent but shes intelligent artistic and that's just the beginning both her and I financial resources could make great business deals.
While Theo was busy chatting everyone up on the new subject of business I took a moment to look at the condiment bottles that are not far from me one in particular catches my eye I pick it up and carefully pour some on the crab cakes at this point he was by a chart with notes and such standing at the front of the table everyone else was paying attention to the big business subject at hand so it was easy.
After showing all the opportunities to my relatives I walk back to Michiru who is smiling telling me I must be hungry after such an important speech and shes right I pick up the crab cake and take a big bite chewing this is so.. HOOOTTTTTTTTT!
That should teach hot lips a lesson I also know for a fact that anything spicy don't agree with Theo at all it don't take him long to grab a whole pitcher of water and run for the bathroom his mom following in concern asking if he needs his pills.
My mother tries to settle things by telling the butler to just bring out dinner and take away the crab cakes I excuse myself and pretend I am concerned for Theo only I head for the kitchen instead and add vinegar to the wine bottle and shake it then put a bunch of salt in the potatoes I hurry before Mary is back from serving the salad with the butler I turn the temp on the oven to its highest this should take care of this planned business marriage dinner I will not sit through it I quickly slip out the back kitchen door...
Ami and I arrive at the food court where everyone was already at the table talking including Haruka and Hailey who were sitting with Thorn and Jade I find a way to force a smile Ami and I grab a seat its Rio who notices us and our bags.
"You two must of robbed em blind look at all those great prizes you got as for us we got great pics of us on all the daring roller coasters I take them out of the envelope Ava screamed the most Mei puked three times it was awesome and since we had proof of going on all of them we got these T shirts and stuff animals"
"That's nice Rio Usagi and I did get lucky and enjoyed many of the games my favourite prize is this doll I think shes beautiful the stuff animals I am giving one to our friend and some to children's charity I don't have the room to keep them with all my books taking up my shelves" I watch as the others begin to get up to go get food Rio does too.
"Ami you two better hurry and pick where you want to go eat crowds are gathering fast ladies."
"Rio is right Usagi" I even feel my own stomach begin to growl with hunger and notice that line ups are forming at the different food vendors taking a look around "how about the circus burger Usagi?" She just nods and we head over to get in line. "Try and cheer up today was fun even if we didn't spend time with Haruka don't let that ruin it."
"Its not just that Ami I really did have fun with you don't get me wrong" I give her a hug I'm sorry all the couples reminded me of Darien and I started to think of him and other sad things came to my mind" I try to hide my tears...
"Usagi I know the break up was hard I'm here for you and don't worry you will get through this your not alone" when we get to the front of the line we tell the man our orders "don't worry its on me Usagi" she smiles and thanks me we pick up our trays and go back to the table everyone is already eating when we get there we take a seat and I begin eating right away but Usagi is still just poking at her food not gobbling like she usually does.
I take a bite of salad while Thorn tells me about the live concerts and other Christmas acts and shows me the videos on her phone Hailey is sitting close to me so she can see too thanks again for the outfits I glimpse Odango barely eating which is not like her at all then I remember I didn't meet her and Ami I haven't exactly talked to her or spent any time with them I finish my food and pull Hailey close I have something to do and nod toward Odango then I see the Ferris wheel that's perfect walking over "hey you two I was thinking you cant really see all the carnival unless you ride the Ferris wheel it has the best view of it all would you like to go with me?"
"You go with her Usagi I am still eating and the Ferris wheel is one of your favourites"
"Ok Ami if your sure" I get up "I will finish eating later this will be fun Haruka!" She puts her arm around me and I feel my cheeks get warm.
Were off to see the best view of the whole place. "I just remembered the sun has nearly set we will have the best view of the fireworks Odango"
"Wow that will be so cool" even though I was now with Haruka my heart felt heavy because its to late to say anything now shes keeping me close as we make our way through crowds her warmth keeps me from feeling the chill in the air then we finally get to the line up for the Ferris wheel.
Once in line its not to long before they have the Ferris wheel all lit up in colours red white and green the sounds of a sports game are being heard from the operator who has a small radio in his pocket I make sure the tickets are in my hand ready to give to the man then I look down at Odango her smile is a sad one "hey" I get her to look at me "whats wrong?"
I quickly wipe my tears "I am ok its nothing just thinking you know how much a cry baby I am"
"I pull her right to me I don't buy that kitten" before I can ask more questions the line begins moving I give the man the tickets he says have a good time as we get on and take a seat I put my arm around her "whats bothering you?"
The ride starts to move slowly my tears start to fall my heart pounding as I lean in to her and begin crying my eyes out.
"Hey talk to me" I lift her head up. "Were not going anywhere till you do."
"Haruka I never should of ran from you I should of told you what was going on in my heart but I was hurting so bad and still am but about that kiss.." when I look at her I see her smile warmly at me.
"Go ahead I am listening" I wipe tears from her face and see her cheeks turn a deep pink...
Down below the operator was watching the ride carefully while listening to the game when a call he didn't like was made. "Oh come on you could easily beat their asses!" He says to the radio in his shirt pocket but another man in the line up didn't like what he said at all he was even proudly wearing a jacket with the name of the opposite team on it he steps out stomping angrily his way
"YOU BETTER TAKE WHAT YOU SAID BACK!"
"I WILL DO NO SUCH THING MY TEAM CAN AND WILL STOMP THOSE USELESS WANNABES!"
"NO WAY MINE WILL BRING THE SCORE UP YOU JUST WAIT AND LISTEN ON THAT CHEAP LITTLE THING YOU GOT THERE!" the man pokes him hard in the chest as they continue to argue...
Odango and I are interrupted by the fireworks in the sky this is the best view you could ever have as different colours and designs pow and flash across the sky we sit back and enjoy the show. "I know you were not yourself and in truth I knew about what Darien was going to do he wanted me to tell you but to me he should and Michiru at the time answered when he called me I don't know what she said to him but it got through I know your hurting and it looks bad now but it will change as for you and me I wink at her I still like you and will continue to tease you."
"Laughing no fair Haruka!" I felt a bit better that I told her. "This ride is fun and the fireworks were the best part this is the longest I have been on a Ferris wheel the man was nice to let us watch the show on it."
"Now that you mention it we been on here for nearly a half hour" then my ears catch sounds of yelling from below and I look down only to see one man punch the other out cold and the ride suddenly speeds up Odango I have a feeling we will be here a bit longer I hear other people shouting and some screaming as we continue to go around in circles at a fast speed.
"Whats happening Haruka? Why are we spinning so fast?! Why isn't he stopping the ride? I want off this thing!"
"Stay calm kitten it shouldn't take them to long to get another person here just take it easy if your dizzy you can shut your eyes"
"Another guy! Where is the one that was here!?"
"You could say his sports game was a knock out" things are a blur I cant see anything clearly and I have Usagi holding tight on to me her eyes closed tight my cell goes off in my pocket I take it out and answer "hey Thorn whats up The Ferris wheel is on the news just great any word on how long till this ends yes we are on it don't panic Id say were fine so far other then a little dizzy" our seat starts to rock back and forth which has Usagi's hold on me tighten more "oof call me back if you hear anything" I hang up what am I saying its Thorn she wont let anyone stop her.
I can feel the seat rocking back and forth faster "Haruka Im scared!" Creaking noises can start being heard some have thrown up already we could hear it and others are still yelling for help I feel Haruka hold me right to her that I can hear her heart shes telling me to try and calm down.
I wasn't going to say anything to Odango but this ride was not built for this speed and the bolts holding this bench are getting strained as I feel us rocking with high pitch creaks the bolt on her side is coming loose I pull her right to my side on my lap against me "kitten trust me your better on my side" the same thing begins to happen to others as I hear more screams then a loud cracking noise is heard the bolt on the other side came off now completely I grab a hold of the bar and keep a grip on kitten as best I can.
Things get worse before they get better were spinning so fast I can hear multiple cracks from the Ferris wheel happening and Usagi is squeezing me hard and shaking the wind is whipping at us I can hear sirens in the distance they better hurry and get here "its going to be ok I promise" I see police arrive along with ambulances below as the speed finally begins to slow.
I open my eyes taking a look around I am sooooo glad that's over as I keep my grip on Haruka just in case when I look at her she smiles saying that everything will be ok and she takes out her phone to check the time saying we been on here over an hour wow! When I look some people are being taken to one of the waiting ambulances and there's people from the news standing not far away with cameras filming.
Finally its our turn to get off and two men help her off my lap and she walks just fine I get up and stretch and stop them from trying to help. "I am just fine men thanks but the next one needs you I can smell it" I walk off and not long I have Hailey in my arms holding on to me tightly Thorn walks up to me as well.
"You just cant seem to stay out of danger lets all get out of this place and head back I think we have all had more then enough action for one day"
"Yes I agree Thorn" I keep Hailey close she wants to drive so I rest from the spin and I do feel a bit dizzy but nothing to bad. "Alright I hand her my keys if it makes you feel better"...
I sit in my room I can hear my mom screaming about the ruined dinner at the staff I could then hear her still yelling but her footsteps heading in my direction now I take a deep breath as she comes storming in to my room her whole body is shaking in rage her hands in fists as she slams my doors shut she then turns to me...
