Chapter 7
A/N: How will they survive 3 months apart and I LOVE YOU'S
This is a filler chapter to get to the parents meeting. Extra chapter since it is a rainy day on the farm and can't do any outside stuff. Thanks to those of you that have read and sent positive reviews.
Suzanne spent the day cleaning her apartment and getting it in order since she would be leaving for the summer. She was leaving for home on Saturday after graduation for three months. Her grad school application had been accepted and she had decided that returning to UVA to get her Masters degree would be in her best interest, plus it would mean she would be on campus with Benjamin.
Benjamin, how would she survive three months without seeing him everyday. Her heart was hurting at the thought. Perhaps if their parents hit it off, she could convince her parents to let her visit him in New York.
Benjamin was in his apartment deciding how to ask Suzanne to come and visit him over the summer break. He didn't think he could spend three months without seeing her. He had not seen her since the day before and he was a wreck in just that short time, how would he survive three months.
He had made reservations for his parents and hers at the French restaurant they went to on their first date. He hoped since her parents knew the place it would help ease the possible tension when they all met. Neither had told their parents of their relationship and he hoped it would go well.
He was about to resume his packing when there was a knock on his door. He rose and looked at the door, wondering who it could be.
He opened the door and immediately a bright smile broke across his face. Suzanne was looking at him sheepishly.
"I hope I am not disturbing you."
"Not at all, I was just avoiding packing," he said, gesturing to her to come in. His heart was leaping out of his chest with joy.
Suzanne turned to him and hoped he was as glad to see her as she was him.
He walked towards her and circled her waist with his arms, leaning in he placed a peck on her lips. He was about to pull back when she pulled him in closer and deepened the kiss.
As their kiss deepened, she moaned into it causing his heart rate to jump. They pulled back from the kiss looking longingly into each other's eyes.
"Sorry to just show up like this, but I missed you. I know we saw each other yesterday, but I couldn't go another minute without a kiss from you," she said with a smirk on her face.
He laughed and told her, "I was just having the same thought and trying to figure out how I was going to last three months without seeing you."
They both laughed at having the same thoughts and how to make it through their separation.
"I want to spend as much time as I can with you before you leave," he told her. Walking her over to the couch he sat down and pulled her into his arms.
"Benjamin, I miss you so much already and you are not even gone. How are we going to last with so many miles between us?"
"I was thinking about that too. Maybe you could come up for a visit for the 4th of July or I can come down here. I hope the parents meeting tomorrow goes great and they will agree to let us spend time together over the summer."
"I know that there will be a summer sale in mid June in upstate New York that my Dad and brother will be going to, perhaps I will join them this year. It is only about an hour out of New York City. You could meet me there."
His eyes lit up with joy knowing she was also thinking of ways for them to see each other over the summer.
Suzanne raised her head from his chest and kissed him. The kiss turned into a full make out session, before he pulled back and settled them into a reclining position on the couch.
He was thinking that he wanted nothing more than to make love to her, but it was too soon. She was thinking the same thing, but knew it would not happen yet.
"Have you eaten, do you want to go grab some food," he asked. "Think we could get a pizza delivered and just stay here and spend all our time with each other?" she said.
"I love the way you think," he said. He walked over to the phone and placed the order.
She was roaming around his apartment while he placed the order. She was amazed every time she was there, how clean and tidy his apartment was. He definitely was not the typical college guy. She was standing with her back to him when she felt his arms and leaned back into him.
"After we eat, can we have a conversation about us?" she asked. "What did you want to talk about?" he asked.
"Benjamin, I want you to know that I have deep and sincere feelings for you and I want a long term relationship with you. I promise you that there will not be anyone else but you for me."
Benjamin was overjoyed at her promise to him. "I want you in my life too for a very long time, Suzanne James I am in love with you. I see you in my long term future. You are the one that I see in my dreams and I want to stand beside me with our children and grandchildren. I didn't want to scare you off by saying it too soon."
Suzanne's breath caught and a single tear rolled down her cheek. "Benjamin Adams, I Love You too. I have known it for a while, but I just didn't want to accept it. You are the kindest, sweetest, most considerate loving person I know. I have had many dreams about my future and now they all include you."
He wiped the tears from her face and pulled her to him. Their mutual love proclamation for each other had their bodies feeling all tingly and warm.
Benjamin moved toward her and once again joined their lips. He slowly started walking them towards the couch and slid her down under him.
She reached up and lovingly stroked his cheek, before they resumed their kissing. Neither could seem to get enough of the other. Just as they were about to deepen the kiss, there was a knock on the door. Benjamin rose to answer it and Suzanne went to go retrieve plates and drinks.
Benjamin returned with the pizza and they sat at the table enjoying it and constantly smiling at each other.
"How do you think tomorrow will go?" she asked as they were doing the dishes together after eating.
He laughed and said, "I hope really well, but my Dad can be kind of obstinate so who knows."
She laughed and walked over to him, "Let's hope it goes well, I am not sure how I can live without you. Them accepting our relationship will make it a lot easier. I am not sure how we will make it if they don't."
He could tell she was starting to spiral with negative thoughts. He walked over and pulled her into his arms, holding her tight. He really wanted to convey to her how much he was invested in their relationship. "Suzanne, we will make this work, regardless of their feelings."
She relaxed in his embrace after he relayed this to her. "I will do whatever it takes to make them understand that this is not some fling and our love for each other is real and deep."
He pulled her in tighter to his arms, enjoying the feel of her so close to him. He could not seem to get enough of her and her being in his arms was heaven on earth to him.
She pulled back and said, "Do you have more packing to do to get ready to leave? I can help you with that."
"I don't have much left. Since I will be back in the fall, I will be keeping my apartment. In my junior year, I let my apartment go and had to spend a semester in the dorms until I could get another one. Not going to make that mistake again."
"I know living in the dorms my freshman year was a nightmare. I could not get any studying done. My roommate was a social butterfly and only wanted to party and spend time with her friends. She spent most of her time trying to land a wealthy guy to marry and didn't care about her classes. She was always inviting people to the room. That is the main reason I talked my Dad into renting me the private study room in the library. I practically lived there that year," she laughed.
Her laugh turned his insides to mush as did her radiant smile. He had a hard time keeping his heart from racing out of control. He stepped away from her to keep from sweeping her into his arms and carrying her into his bedroom and making love to her all afternoon.
He quickly came up with an outdoor activity for them to engage in to distract his thoughts. "Since the weather is so nice, do you think you might want to go on a hike with me? We could go up to Black Top mountain and enjoy an evening picnic."
"That sounds like a wonderful idea. I just need to run over to my apartment and change," she said.
"Why don't I get ready and you see what is in the kitchen to make us a picnic. We can then go by your place." he said.
They split to do their separate tasks. She was able to find a few things to add to the picnic basket and he was changed and at her side in no time.
They stopped by her apartment for her to change and were on the road in no time.
They took a leisurely hike to the top and were enjoying the picnic she had put together for them. With the weather being so warm, it was a perfect day and they both enjoyed the hike and the picnic.
They finished the food and decided it was time to hike back down before dark. They both needed to finish up their packing and get ready to leave for the summer.
Benjamin parked in front of her apartment and turned off the motor. He turned to her and his heart was in his throat thinking about leaving her for three months. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her on the top of her head.
"I don't want to let you go, I know it is silly since we will see each other tomorrow. That seems like a long way away," he laughed.
"I feel the same way," she said, running her hands up and down his strong back. "I should probably head in," she said as she pulled back from his embrace.
Benjamin got out and walked around to open her door. Being ever the gentleman, he walked her to her door. He needed one more kiss before bidding her goodnight.
At her door, he pulled her to him and placed his lips on hers. She stepped forward and the kiss deepened. He stepped back too soon for her and gave her a smile.
"Good night beautiful, I will see you tomorrow and I love you."
"Good night handsome, I love you too." She closed the door and leaned on it trying to get her racing heart to slow down. The more time she spent with him the more she knew he was definitely the one she wanted to spend all her life with.
