Small time jump, it is New Year's eve 1967.

Benjamin and Suzanne were cuddled up on the couch enjoying a quiet night at home. 1967 was coming to a close in a few hours. They were looking forward to the new year and what it would bring. They had gotten past the miscarriage, his being drafted and all that entailed there, the separation, and restarting their lives together.

Benjamin leaned over and kissed her gently with a twinkle in his eyes. "Anything you want to do tonight?" he asked, looking towards the stairs and their bedroom.

She leaned back smiling at him and asked, "Did you have something in mind?"

"Well, I was thinking we could bring the new year in with a bang," he smirked.

"Planning on a fireworks show?" she asked.

"Yes, I plan on making you see fireworks without leaving our bed," he said suggestively.

She giggled at him and stood from the couch. She lowered her hand to him to help him rise from the couch. She led him up the stairs to the serenity of their bedroom.

Several hours and rounds later, she laid across his chest trying to get her breathing to return to normal. He was running his fingers down her bare back. He loved her and making love to her, and it let him show her how much he loved her..

A week or so after Valentine's day. One he had surprised her with a dinner at their favorite french restaurant (A`ime). They enjoyed a wonderful meal and after dinner had spent the night enjoying each other. She was sitting at her home office desk after dinner working on a design when her stomach suddenly churned and nausea overtook her. She bolted for the bathroom making it just in time to empty the contents of her stomach.

Benjamin had been sitting on the couch when he heard her running upstairs. He jumped up off the couch running the stairs 2 at a time. He found her bent over with her head in the toilet. He pulled her hair back from her face and rubbed her back.

She sat back on her heels when she was done. He rose and got her a wet cool cloth and a glass of water. She sat down and leaned against the tub. He sat down beside her and handed her the water. He started running the cloth over her face to wipe the sweat off and cool her off.

"Are you okay sweetheart?" he asked with concern in his voice.

She nodded, taking a sip of the water. "Do you think you can help me up, not sure my legs can hold me up?"

He rose and lifted her up in his arms. He carried her into the bedroom and laid her on their bed. He continued to rub the cloth over her face and neck. "Are you feeling any better?"

She nodded and leaned back on the pillows, closing her eyes. He continued to watch over her and soon she was breathing deeply. He watched her for a while longer to make sure she was truly asleep. He rose and walked over to the lounger in their room. He wanted to watch over her. He was worried about what had made her sick. He ate the same meal that she had and he felt fine. He decided to just change into some pj's and join her in bed making it an early night for them both.

The next morning she woke up kinda disorientated, she didn't remember anything after he carried her to bed. She felt like herself and swung her feet off the bed. She rose and was slightly shaky, probably because she threw up dinner and it was almost 9 am. She shook off the dizziness and went in search of Benjamin.

Benjamin looked up when he heard her steps on the stairs. He jumped up to meet her at the end of the stairs, taking her hand and he led her over to the couch. He sat down and pulled her into his lap. "How are you feeling sweetheart?" he asked, kissing her cheek.

"I feel fine, except I am starving," she told him.

"Well let's get you fed," he said. He rose and carried her to the kitchen and sat her down on the counter. He grabbed eggs and bacon from the fridge. He flitted around the kitchen fixing the love of his life food to fill her empty stomach.

"Benjamin, that was so good and filling. After throwing up all of last night's dinner I was famished. Not sure what caused it, You didn't get sick did you?" she asked.

"No, Sweetheart. I am fine. Are you feeling alright after eating?" he asked.

"Yes, I am full and feeling fine. I need to go shower and get dressed. We have a new potential client coming in today to discuss a new project," she said, rising to her feet.

The rest of the day went by with nothing unusual happening. She arrived home and after changing, started on dinner. Just as she was about to put the dish in the oven, her stomach took a tumble. Nausea bubbled up and she just made it in time to empty her stomach in the trash can. Once she was done throwing up, she slowly walked over to the table and sat down. She was sitting with her head in her hands, when Benjamin walked in the door.

"Hey Sweetheart, how was your day?" he asked.

It was when she raised her head, he saw her face and immediately walked over to her and squatted down in front of her. Taking her hands, "What is wrong? Are you sick again?"

"Yes, I just threw up again. I don't know what is causing this. I may have to make an appointment with my Dr if this keeps up," she said.

"I think that is a good idea. We don't want to let this go too long and let it get out of hand," he told her.

A few days went by and they were having dinner with her parents at the farm house. Benjamin needed to talk over some business with her Dad and Eric. She was in the kitchen with her Mom when suddenly her stomach churned. She put her hand on her stomach to try and quell it. She excused herself and made a dive for the bathroom. Once she was done and had brushed her teeth, she joined her family at the table.

Her Mom was looking at her with concern. She suspected something was up with her daughter and hoped that she was right at what she suspected.

Tuesday midmorning, she was sitting in an exam room with Benjamin by her side. Dr. Mathis walked in with his head down studying her file. "Well hello Adams. It seems that you are one sick young lady. Let's see if we can get you feeling better. We have your blood drawn and we will run some more tests."

Dr. Mathis walked back into the exam room, with a smirk on his face. Just like the last visit his patient had no idea what was coming. "So we got your blood work back and found out what is wrong with you. It seems you are 7 weeks pregnant."

Shock and surprise overtook both Benjamin and Suzanne's faces. Realization hit him and a huge smile lit up his face. Pregnant, a baby, he was going to be a father. He turned to Suzanne and she too had a huge smile on her face. She flung her arms around his neck and held him tightly.

"Benjamin, I am pregnant. We are going to be parents. I am so happy. Are you?" she asked sheepishly.

He placed his hands on her cheeks and pulled her to him and placed a soft, gentle kiss on her lips. "I am beyond happy. Being a father is something I want. Are you okay?"

"Yes, I am fine. I just hope this throwing up ends soon. I should have known this is what was going on. It was just like last time, throwing up in the evening," she said laughing.

Dr. Mathis cleared his throat, reminding them he was in the room. "Okay, Suzanne, other than throwing up any more issues?"

"No nothing, but I am guessing more will show up with time," she told him.

"My nurse has a packet of information for you and just like the last time, if you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to contact me at any time. Benjamin, since you were not here last time do you have any questions?" Dr. Mathis asked.

Benjamin seemed to be caught up in his head and didn't key in that Dr. Mathis was directing questions to him. Suzanne's hand on his arm seemed to bring him around. Dr. Mathis repeated the question. Benjamin shook his head and took Suzanne's hand in his.

They left the office hand in hand and decided to head back home. Once inside, they both walked over and sat down on the couch. Snuggled up to each other, his hand gravitated to her stomach. His thumb was drawing circles on stomach and he was lost in thought.

She placed her hand over his and linked their fingers. "I would like to keep this just between us for the time being. I don't want to get everyone's hopes up after last time," she told him.

"Of course, we will do whatever you want. We will take this on your timeline and do only what you feel comfortable with. You feel like taking a nap, I didn't get much sleep last night and neither did you?" he asked her.

Several hours later he woke to an empty bed. He went in search of her, finding her on the back deck drinking a cup of cocoa.

He walked up and hugged her from behind. He lowered his lips and kissed her on her neck. She leaned back into the hug and hummed her approval of his lips on his neck.

The sun was setting and they stood and enjoyed the beauty of it. Everything seemed to be more beautiful and have a deeper feel to it. She believed it was because of the baby but wasn't sure.

Several weeks passed , she was at her appointment with Dr. Mathis. She was now 12 weeks and just starting her second trimester.

They had talked about it and decided after her 12 week appointment they would start telling people. They usually had dinner with her parents every couple of weeks and Saturday was a dinner night. She called Eric and Evelyn and asked them to be there too.

Dinner was consumed and everyone was sitting around the table, most were oohing and aahing over baby Joshua. Suzanne was holding him and looked up at Benjamin. His 1000 watt smile was lighting up his face. Now was the perfect time to tell everyone.

Benjamin walked up behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Benjamin and I have an announcement to make. I am 12 weeks pregnant," she said with a huge smile on her face.

Cheers, clapping, hugs and tears were shared by all. Suzanne smiled as she looked around the room. Her hand gravitated to her stomach and she rubbed her tummy. Benjamin ran his hand across her side and around to lay on top of hers. He pulled her back into his chest and just reveled in the feel of her in his arms and pregnant with his child. All his dreams were coming true and their life as a family was just beginning.
