Chapter 11

This was one of the best days I could have ever experienced.

Honestly I don't think anything could ruin this day, the sun was shining, the birds chirping.

In this moment it was refreshing.

Spending the morning watching all of my friends graduating was magical, even if I couldn't be there to graduate too.

Not having the best view didn't stop me from missing there big day through her eyes. Truthfully part of me was jealous, especially watching Eddies trials last week through her eyes. It should have been me kicking some as out there, instead of hiding with my father broke and pregnant and being stalked by my undead lover.

Not even that, I can't even save Dimitri on my own anymore. Instead I got two guardian following my every move. I've gained about ten pounds since my birthday, and this damn heartburn still won't go away.

Besides the negatives body issues and crazy Strigoi boyfriends in my life, the other best experience I had ever experienced was that of a fluttering kick from of my baby boy.

Oblivious of course I was nervous that morning when it happened, thank heavens Guardian Jackson was there to grasp what in the heck I was experiencing. Due to the lack of Mother and being helpless in maternal knowledge, I was clueless on my role and understanding what was happening to my body.

The child still to be named decided to grace my presence with fluttery feeling, letting me know he is there even when his father wasn't. Our child filled the empty feeling in my heart after Dimitri's awakening. Apart of me may never recover from that day, though I had something to gain from it making it easier to hold on.

"It's okay," I muttered rubbing my swollen stomach, before throwing a pair sweat suit on. " We'll get your daddy back, even if its the last thing I do so don't you worry, okay."

Followed by the fluttery feeling of his presence, it put my mind at ease.

"Rose would you come here for a minute." Abe asked from his office as I was walking by on my way to the kitchen for an afternoon sandwich.

Rewinding my last few steps, I advert my direction to his office. "Close the door please."

Doing as he asked and closing the door, I look to Abe and Pavel both looking at me silently.

"What," I bellowed. " Your creeping me out."

"Have a seat we have some things to discuss." Abe answered, gestured at seat in front of him.

Taking a seat, I suddenly felt like I was in Kirova's office getting punished for something I may have or haven't done. The only thing different was I didn't do anything, and it wasn't my headmistress but my father.

"So what is it you wanna chat about?" Shifting in my seat. Why am I nervous ? I didn't cause any mischief lately , which is surprisingly not me. Well I guess that's gotta wait till he is born. Sighing to myself I suddenly felt melancholy.

Clearing his throat, drawing me from me taking to myself, Abe got straight into business. "We have a few things to discuss, starting with your progress on their training,"Reminding, how weird it was it be the mentor instead of the student.

"There doing quite great actually, a few minor things but I think there almost ready to go up against Dimitri." Shuttering at the thought of one of them staking him. "We just need to find Robert Doru , then we can question him but until then we can work on their weak points. Especially considering Dimitri will look for them to get to me."

Being honestly was important, especially in this case when your a guardian you have people's lives in your hands. One wrong move and you could cost your charges lives, and yours.

"Splendid, happy to hear that my guardians are excelling rather well. Will be looking forward to seeing them in action." Nodding his head in approval. "Now we discuss your appointments outside the wards."

"Yeah? What about them ."Clearly not sure why he is bringing my doctor appointments up.

"Well considering last time and this," he said pulling out a little envelope. "It's a risk to let you out of the wards. From now on your strictly to be looked after here, I have appointed a Moroi doctor to be taking over from now in." Hanging it over. Not reading the letter now I was not having it.

"Bu-"

"No buts young lady." Abe ordered, leaning back in his seat. Pavel nodded in agreement. " Until that baby is coming into this world you will be staying safely behind wards."

" What about my appointment today, I can't just cancel it now" I argued, what's one more appointment going to do. " Can I at least go to this before you lock me in the castle tower, until your grand child arrives."

"Fine! But be on the look out and be back before sundown got it ." He ordered. "Pavel! Get those two in here before they go, we need to go over some things before they leave this compound, got it."

"Yes sir"

"Excellent, now before I let you go off doing who knows what, I would like to sit and discuss some classified business."

Driving out of the wards, Guardian Jackson, Brendan and I where excited to see the updates on the tiny giant. During my last appointment, the doctor and I discussed the length of my child and how he was predicting him to be really tall. Just like his father.

Sitting in the back seat bored, I asked to know a but more about my temporary guardian Brendan until we got to the doctors.

During the discovery of miracle baby I've gotten to know Guardian Jackson. She told me about her son and how he lives with her mother when he isn't at the academy, while she is working but takes her vacation when he is on break. Jackson revealed that she had fell in love with a Moroi who left her pregnant with her son Max. Heartbroken she met her human love and had her daughter Kyla who had died when she was a toddler. Destroyed from the loss, the couple split and she then met Abe and has been with him ever since.

" Well, I'm from Michigan born and raised." He says. "Im currently twenty-six , I've got 4 older sisters and a dog named Bentley." He rambled thoughtfully. "I've been with Mr. Mazur for about five years now."

"Interesting," I grinned widely. " Did you get used as a doll too, how many dolls where you married off too."Causing him to grip the steering wheel, blushing like a fool. Clearing his throat he didn't answer back. Poor guy.

Recalling similar stories about Dimitri and his sisters.

The thought of not having a sibling never bothered me much, I had Lissa. Just because Lissa, Eddie and my friends where not blood related doesn't mean there not family. Hell I've just met my dad a few months ago, and been raised by the academy thanks to my mother. Blood doesn't mean there family.

Deciding not to embarrass him today, I dropped my questions and enjoyed the scenery.

Parking the SUV, Guardian Brendan and Jackson both excited the vehicle. Pulling into the closest spot to the clinic so I didn't have to walk to quickly, we trotted through the parking lot to my appointment.

Walking into the building my guards take a seat as I talk to the lady at the front desk, than say sat in the waiting room until my turn.

"So have you picked any names yet?" Brendan asked. " I think you should name him T.J."

" Speaking if T.J what does that stand for ?" Hoping he would spill.

"Thomas James."

"Thomas James ? Your name is Thomas James, than why do you go by T.J," thinking back on when we met. " Here I thought it was something horrible."

" Well my father is a Thomas James, so I like to separate myself from him as much as I can." He explains, giving me a look into his personal life. "For the last few centuries the men have given the name to their fist son." Jackson and I sat quietly, invested in what he has to say next.

"My Father isn't a royal, but he does have power and is about as ignorant as Royal, the only thing he cares about was his responsibility to have a son, and to keep the family name irrelevant in the Moroi upperclass society. Which is why I have four sisters, it took my mother five times.

Once my mother got pregnant with me, Thomas left my mother taking me with him. After I started attending the academy, I then got into contact with my mother and sisters. Thanks to Abe, my father hasn't had the opportunity to get me in his clutches."

Wow my father was just as much as a badass as my mother. Must run in the family.

"Miss Hathaway." The receptionist called, stopping the conversation with Guardian Brendan. Standing up, I hand Brendan my jacket and belongings and followed the lady with a quiet Jackson at my side .

Wrapping my coat around myself, I prepare for outsides elements. With my guardians following behind me as I happily hum a tune across the parking lot.

The appointment went well and I now have an updated picture of my handsome son.

Now that he is at the right size, my baby was healthy and so innocent.

Opening my car door, I learn forward slowly to get in vehicle, than stop.

The nauseous settles in and the feeling takes over my whole body, the only thing different was it wasn't baby nausea. "Guys Strigoi, I can feel one close by," I called, getting their attention. Not really getting into how I know, I pull my stake out.

" Rose get into the vehicle."Guardian Brendan ordered.

"But I c-ca.."

"I said get in the vehicle." He yelled, at me. Certainly not going to let me get a word out.

This the second time I've been cut off speaking, does someone wanna die today.

"That's right Roza get into the vehicle, you wouldn't want to get hurt from little ol' me." A familiar accented man taunted.

Causing me to freeze. No not, not now. Not while I'm like this, go away!

Placing my hand on my belly instinctively I faced toward my left. still concealing myself behind the tinted glass, I looked at my undead lover in the eyes. Still looking like a god as usual, he was beautiful. The only thing different was that of his red eyes and lack of soul.

"Hello lover, long time no see. Glad to finally be graced with your presence, I hope it wouldn't be rude to ask for you to come back after Christmas to kill me," I joked. Causing both Guardian Jackson and Brendan to glare my way." I'd also say its great to catch up but then I'd be lying, especially considering you put my mother in the hospital you bastard."

Dimitri just smirked, a dangerous smirk. "Now that's the Roza Ive missed, always with the bad language. You've been warned, it you had just listened to me the first time it wouldn't have happened. Everything that has and will happen is because of you, and besides, I rather like this game we're playing."

"This is between you and I comrade, touch one more person that I love and I will end you." I promised, clearly lying through my teeth. In this situation I was to pregnant and to vulnerable against him thanks to this protruding stomach. Even before knowing I was pregnant it was hard to take him down, he knew my and my moves to much. Back in Russia I was lucky enough to catch him off guard.

Laughing at me he takes a step closer, but not before taking a look at my guardians carefully. Knowing him, he has already figured out I trained them.

Smirking at them both he averted his eyes back to mine and said. " Nice guard dogs Roza, I didn't take you as someone who hides behind others." Biting at my Achilles heel.

I was a fighter, a guardian, not some damsel in distress. Unquestionably I am a take action woman, and I couldn't help but feel helpless being on the sidelines. Man it was really bugging me.

Rolling my eyes, I was getting annoying with this casual charade Dimitri is doing. In addition to my personally experience with him in Russia up until now, I knew he could kill me in an instant. So why am I still standing here? And why is only him here and no other Strigoi? Is he trying to get himself killed. Dimitri may be strong but standing up to three guardians.

" If you're here to kill me get it over with, if not don't waste my time." I egged him, trying to find any idea what his motives are.

" Rose shut up," Jackson whispered harshly. " Get in the goddamn vehicle or I'll kill you."

"Guardian Jackson is right. We need to go Rose." Brendan agreed.

My eyes didn't leave Dimitri's. Our eyes not wavering for a second. What are you up to?

Why are you not attacking us? You have been stalking me for months, now that you have found me you haven't made any moves. What are your motives Comrade?

With great speed Dimitri moves towards me, Brendan pushed me in the vehicle as Jackson cut Dimitri off from getting to me. Swiping her stake in his direction, she landed a slash to his left shoulder. Hissing I'm pain, Dimitri recovered quick to strike back at Jackson, which left him open for Brendan to send a roundhouse kick to Dimitri, sending him to go backwards. Helping Jackson to her feet then run towards me to the vehicle.

Taking a small glance to Guardian Brendans side I could see his handing move to his this gun. Most likely to get us away from him, which I was thankful for.

Shooting a few bullets at Dimitri, we distracted him long enough to make a quick exit.

" Oh, and tell Zemy that know matter how many hidden locations he hides you in, I will always find you. It's only a matter of time Roza when I get my hands on you, so enjoy your freedom while it lasts."

"You bastard." I yelled out the window.

"For now I will let you go, a selfish part of me wants to watch you squirm for a little while longer. Your death will not be something as easy as this." His thick Russian accent challenged. " But remember I'm not far behind and one step ahead, so don't think you can escape me."

I was speechless.

Turning the suv on, Brendan shoved it in drive and sped out of the parking lot. Taking a final glance at Dimitri as we sped out, he said.

" Let the games begin Roza."
