Lincoln Loud sighed as he had just recuperated from a long stay in hospital recovering from surgery done to him thanks to his supposed mentor.

It had all started in his home back in his own dimension where he had a long day helping out all of his sisters and just wanted some alone time to himself; then there was Luna wanting his help again and trying to sneak way there was Leni he had to sneak away form as she wanted him to try out some fashion designs that she had just made and then Lori stepped in. She wanted his help with something (he couldn't remember what it was exactly) and tried to explain that he just wanted peace to himself, Lori offhandedly asking him to be considerate when his sisters needed his help with them assembling caused him to snap.

He had yelled to their stunned reactions that he hadn't had any time to himself that day because he was busy helping them all and just wanted to be alone, it was at that time when Lisa's dimensional experiments malfunctioned and it sucked him screaming in despite the best attempts of his panicked sisters trying to pull him out.

He spent some time alone and homeless in this new dimension, guilty that his last conversation with his sisters was an argument and he couldn't be too excited when he found out that superheroes actually existed there. In a street in the town that he was in he was almost caught by some thugs but they were beaten up and then shot by a colourfully dressed man in a stupid looking silver helmet. He seemed friendly and introduced himself as Peacemaker to Lincoln. Peacemaker offered to walk him home but Lincoln had to explain to him what his deal was and fortunately was able to convince him that he was from another dimension with his phone with movies and shows downloaded on it that didn't exist here.

Peacemaker surprised him by offering to take him under his wing as his sidekick. He agreed thinking that this was too good to be true.

That was because it was.

Soon it became clear to Lincoln that Peacemaker was arrogant, self-important, and immature and a total asshole. His training was quite brutal and there was innocence in Lincoln's nature that Peacemaker killed since it was slowly turning him cynical.

It came ahead when Peacemaker brought him to raid a facility and didn't think twice to leave Lincoln for dead underneath the barbwire defences of the facility while bombs were going off despite him shouting to Peacemaker begging for help.

Lincoln badly bruised with his eye, his left arm hurting to move and a slight limp in his leg managed to make it back to Peacemaker's house and entered opening the door slowly. He saw him arguing with Leota Adebayo a government agent who worked with Peacemaker. "So not only did you draft an orphaned child into your dangerous lifestyle but you left him for dead without a second thought. Why do I end up keep feeling sorry for you when you always find a way to sink a new low?" Leota asked furiously as Peacemaker was shaking his head.

"Don't give me that, he would have been dead weight slowing me down! I was doing him a favour as well; the poor kid was too good for this sinful world so him dying in a mission was a mercy kill. He didn't have it in him for this job as I powered through much worse training at his age by my Dad!" Peacemaker yelled but then they both heard the sound of Lincoln slamming the door behind him. "Lincoln my Liberty Lad! I just knew that you were going to make it, you are showing off your superhero credentials!" Peacemaker said with a cheesy grin as he faced Lincoln glaring with utter contempt at him.

"You left me for dead, it took three hours to cut through the wire with the knife that you gave me and during that time i was seriously considering eating my own leg to survive. In the last hour I noticed a wolf in the distance and I was pleading that he would notice me so he could put me out of the misery that you left me in!" Lincoln told him unable to offer much protest as Peacemaker pulled him into a hug and was yelling from the pain.

Lincoln then saw Peacemaker coming towards him with the replica of his own helmet that he had given to Lincoln along with the jacket to go over his orange shirt. It was red with the yellow dove symbol with blue shapes around it to match Peacemaker's suit. "There is Liberty Lad here reporting for duty! I bet you will be anxious to get your Freedom uniform back on!" Peacemaker said putting the jacket on him and then throwing the helmet on him.

"How do you not realise how ridiculous we both look? Why is our symbol a bird, is it supposed to be Eagly?" Lincoln asked thinking of Peacemaker's pet eagle but Peacemaker shook his head.

"It's a dove which is known to be symbols of peace." Peacemaker explained shaking his head.

"How are you Peacemaker anyway? I have been meaning to ask because you have been quite violent in how you kill people and you never seem to want to talk your enemies down?" Lincoln asked and then Peacemaker put up a finger as if he was a teacher talking to a student.

"Peace comes at a cost and for peace to exist there has to be people who have to do what it takes to create and keep the peace no matter who we have to fight and kill. Peace requires killing people who had it coming and some people who didn't have it coming. That's why I am the ultimate superhero." Peacemaker told Lincoln who said.

"I was asked to be a sidekick to a colourfully dressed superhero and it seemed like a dream but it turned out to be a nightmare as this guy is the biggest fucking asshole ever! If all this was just to get me to appreciate my sisters more, then I would gladly go back to the status quo if it meant that i never had to deal with him again!" Lincoln said to his invisible audience having gotten cynical in his experiences with Peacemaker, using language that was banned from the Loud House.

"You always seemed to criticise me but you don't hear me making fun of you for talking to people that are not there as if you are Malcolm in the fucking Middle. So quit with the bellyaching because there is a world needing to be saved and we are Peacemaker and Liberty Lad!" Peacemaker said with a scoff as he took Lincoln by the arm to drag him someday.

Lincoln just shook his head resigning himself to the misadventures being guided by this clown whose antics that he bet not even Luan would find funny.

The Peacemaker show is not here in the UK yet but I can't wait until it does, they released the opening credits sequence and I absolutely love it. Ever since the first roll call trailer of the Peacemaker it helped make Peacemaker one of my fave DC characters ever. I was sold on hearing that John Cena would be playing him as a dudebro jerk version of Captain America. For this fic I had some inspiration from Fight-Man a Marvel Comics one-shot (because one shot is all that he needs) which is one of the funniest comics that I have ever read in my entire life. I took some inspiration from how it brutally takes down how easy it would be to have a child sidekick killed in battle especially if they don't have any powers.
