Chapter 1
How our Word Changed
"Welcome!" Japan's top and veteran actor greeted his house guests.
"Thank you so much for having us, Tsuruga-san! And we are honored that you chose our show to reveal your home and family!" Gaped by one of the three hosts and the cameraman covering the home interview roamed the lenses around the mansion; Expensive branded cars paraded the driveway, and the three storey house painted in gorgeous black, white and gray, the glass wall windows exhibited some of the interiors and reception room the family had.
It is the first time that Tsuruga Ren is revealing his house, "Thank you Shinichi-san, as you already know my wife and I had been working very hard to make sure that we invest in good and comfortable things for our family, and this is one of it; especially for our son." He explained. The whole Japan especially his fans were all aware he got married years ago but never revealed who his wife is since he wanted to keep her identity unknown and keep his private life a secret. Although, as a proud father, he showed the very first picture of their baby to the whole world through his social media for a little introduction and for all these years kept minimal updates about his private life, he never showed the face of his son to keep him safe.
"By the way, where is 'Missus Tsuruga and Tsuruga Junior?" Another host chuckled, "For fourteen years that's what your fans call them." He continued.
"Missus is still at work and Junior is on his way back. But she'll be here and greet everyone." Ren smiled at the camera. Few of the female crew can't still get over how handsome and well-built the actor is; he is with the same physic as to those Hollywood actors from a hero movie, being thirty-five he is looking fine and sharp, despite rocking some 'dad' outfit with the combo of cargo shorts and fitting polo shirt.
"So we get to introduce Junior in the flesh?" The hosts gasped, thrilled that the infamous Tsuruga 'Junior' will be joining them.
"Sure do! I receive a call earlier from Momma and he's biking his way back from the restaurant." Ren informed, assuring that his son is on his way back.
"I envy Tsuruga-san that he eats great food since his wife is a chef!" Hikaru pouted.
Finally, comfortably seated in the beautifully interior-designed living room, the black sofa went with the white walls and gray carpet, and the full glass center table had a tray in the middle with a decorative whisky and shot glass, one full wall is filled with modern rustic designed picture frames that goes over the the white grand piano, it is filled with the precious moments of his family, together with his parents and his mother-in-law. However the eye catching picture of all, hanging on the very middle is the fairytale like giant portrait of his wedding.
The camera focused on the beautiful woman with raven hair and shining golden brown eyes. Dressed in gorgeous vintage sleeveless-bridal ball gown and Ren who matched her with his all white Victorian designed suit that complimented his wife's garment. Their eyes locked at each other which gave perfect picturesque shot for the vent.
The two giant dogs that had been jumping and playing with the crew did not go unnoticed, they were glad that the two pooches were friendly and did not give them too much of a trouble.
By later when the show airs, his and his wife's old fans are going to cause chaos after revealing that Japan's beloved eternal butterfly that had been missing for fourteen years is actually the mysterious wife, "Glad you finally revealed that 'Missus Tsuruga' is actually our baby sister Kyoko-chan~" Hikaru patted Ren.
"For fourteen years, I wanted to tell the world who my beautiful wife is, Hikaru-san but you know the reason why I and together our agency held back. And that is because for our son." He continued, they were interrupted when they heard a car pulling up and honking, "Momma's back!" Ren grinned and wight away stood, doing a little jog to the driveway, the poor cameraman followed his heel, the Ishibashi brothers also tailed them to greet their sister.
Stepping out of her white Cadillac SUV she was greeted by Ren and the camera guy, she giggled and gave Ren his usual I'm home kiss. The cameraman wanted to squeal after the smooch since he has been a fan of the couple after their fist movie together, however months after that Kyoko officially retired.
"Hi boys~" she greeted.
"Kyoko-chaaan!" and gave her a hug.
"Momma, where's Aki?" Ren asked, looking for his son.
"He's biking back, you know the usual." She explained and when they were about to head back, "Oh here he is." A boy almost as tall as Ren riding his all black full suspension mountain bike; clad with off road helmet.
"Hi Papa." The boy had a blonde hair and emerald eyes that Kyoko loved, he looked like a carbon copy of 'Kuon'.
"Was it a fun ride, bud?" Ren kissed his son's forehead like he would usually do and ruffled his hair a bit.
"Yup, got to feed some few strays along the way too." He said and went in right away after greeting his three uncles, with hugs and kisses.
"Glad you had fun, kiddo. And by the way, your grandjiji and mamita are coming later." Ren shouted in a call and he was responded with a happy cheer. Even if only the three of them lives in a massive mansion, it was still full of life.
Ren wrapped his arm around his wife's waist and followed the others inside their home. Settled, "Thank you for joining us Kyoko-chan." The three gave her a fond smile which Kyoko returned.
"It feels strange that I get to sit and face camera again, I mean it's been years."
"Do you miss acting?" It was a scripted question.
"I do, every single day." Kyoko was being honest and her husband knows how much she missed it.
"Then why not come back?" Yuusei went off the script and asked, it is the one thing that they had been wanting to ask her.
"Glad you asked." She gave her warmest smile and leaned close to Ren who pulled her for a tight sideways hug, "As you guys know I got pregnant and married at the early years of my career, at first I planned to have a little time off to at least give birth and raise my baby until he is a little older, however remembering how I grew up and raised without my mother's love with the lack of presence from my father. I realized I do not want that for Aki, so I made the hardest decision, but Ren was there to support and told me, he's going to act, and entertain people for the both of us. It was enough, and I told him that I'm going to give our son something we never had in our childhood, and that was a parents' love."
"Kyoko loved acting, to entertain, to awe people and make them fall in love on all her characters she wanted to be unpredictable to how she will bring her role to life. But after having Aki our world changed. Parenthood is strange in its way, It made us happy, anxious, confused but most of all proud. Kyoko and I made plenty of sacrifices, especially her because we wanted to give everything for our child, we must do things to protect Aki, we avoid unwanted attention that will bring harm later on. You know how harsh and unforgiving our industry is, whether it would be a child or not, they will be subject to criticism and insults, I know because I was a subject of that, that is why me and Kyoko made a painful choice of laying low. And as for keeping Kyoko's identity as my beloved wife, of course after getting married to her I wanted to show the world the woman that brought light and happiness in my life." Kyoko turned to him with a playful pout and gently pinched his arm.
"But with Kyoko on the peak of her career, we kept everything hidden. We wanted to avoid any negative rumors and criticism about her getting pregnant by me. Yes, we got married because I got her pregnant at nineteen." Ren revealed, "And I regret none of it!" Putting both of his hands up, "She gave me a beautiful life and family." He turned to her and shared a sweet kiss which made the female staff blush.
"Wow, that's some story you got there. But I am glad it turned out great for both of you, however how did you become a Chef, Kyoko-chan?" Hikaru asked.
"Well, after giving birth I busied myself in cooking, and poor Ren had been the center of it." Kyoko giggled at the memory.
"She cooked tons!" Ren's face paled and exaggerated his statement which made everyone laugh.
"That was because at that time you were filming the 'Streets' he needed to gain weight and bulk up a bit for his role, and because of that, director Shurei requested me to feed him with plenty of proteins and healthy food. And I had to state 'again', I was not a fan on his stamina." Kyoko groaned and Ren cockily grinned. "And because I love cooking, and Taisho who has been kind enough, asked me to at least bring Aki to Darumaya and I would help him there, Later on after Tashio and his wife retired gave me the shop and I started my business, I renovated it a bit, but did not make any further changes to the design. I kept the authentic look and because of my fusion style cooking I realized I can venture out and be a full time chef. Besides, I hide in the kitchen and the only people who knows me are the patrons and close friends that would often visit the restaurant.
The three boys clapped their hands in amazement, Kyoko on whatever career path she took became successful, "And fun fact! Because my son grew up in a restaurant he's become that online pop culture food blogger. Aside from his favorite sport, he is quite passionate about food and cooking." Kyoko feeling proud that her son took after her.
As the interview continued, "We're here!" Julie burst from the door with Kuu holding up the luggage, to Kyoko's surprise her mother was there too.
"Where's Aki?" Saena instantly demanded and the parents of the said teen in sync pointed up. Right away, Saena ignored the crew and camera and went up-stairs.
With a loud gasp, "Wait!" Julie shrieked and followed the other woman, Kuu looking pitiful holding all the luggage in his arms.
"Help?" Ren laughed and went to assist him, the Ishibashi brothers didn't know that the Hizuris are related to the couple.
"I'm happy you're here dad." Ren gave his father a hug first.
"Thanks son, now help me on this, geez, your mother went right ahead to Aki."
"Don't worry dad, I'm also confused if it's a grandmother thing." Ren whispered and they heard Saena and Julie warn them from upstairs.
The whole crew plus the hosts gaped at the scene, "I can explain." Kyoko looked apologetic to the hosts and crew about the sudden surprise.
"Don't worry babe, I'll help you explain, but I'll help dad first." Ren left with Kuu. And when he returned he finally revealed that he is the son of Kuu and Juliena Hizuri, and Aki hid his name by using his real last name.
Once the Hizuri couple settled in their rooms after Ren's assistance, Ren and Kyoko took the crew to a full house tour, giving their fans a sneak peak of their home and daily life as a normal family, they showed the grand kitchen as a highlight since both wife and son are big food fans and another highlights was the stylish spacious backyard with beautiful pool, backyard deck and barbecue area, it is rare to see and have a property like that in Tokyo, and the second floor reception room which was overlooking the district they are living in.
The couple were also proud to show their prized dividers where their respective awards were displayed, and to avoid any bad feedbacks about their son not stepping in their footsteps, they went to his room to show his 'own' pedestal; show casing giant trophies, framed golden and silver medals, jerseys and prized helmets. Ren revealed that Sean Julianne Tsuruga is a Junior x-games champion.
"No wonder you got plenty of pictures of him in a bike." The director commented on camera.
Though, he got plenty of hats to last a life time..." Yuusei commented staring at the floor-to-ceiling shelf full of branded ball-caps.
"Those, are sponsored brands he carries whenever he has competitions." Ren explained.
"Wow... at the age of fourteen he's already being paid millions!" Yuusei felt impressed, "When I was that age, I was worried about my assignments and allowances." He laughed.
"Well, not Junior~" Shinichi nodded in approval, "The kid's got a big name in the circuit, correct?" He turned to kyoko who nodded.
"He's carrying the Japanese flag and had competed abroad." Kyoko gloated a little.
"Hey kiddo, what's with the long face?" Ren went to check his son.
"Whoever thought of letters is a perfect match for numbers is evil..." His son looked irritated and Kyoko knew what it was and wen to check and see what she can help him with.
"You got them right, why are you upset?" Kyoko giggled reading his formulas and answers.
"I really don't know." He shrugged, "It's the formulas that I tend to get mixed up..." He sighed and started to answer his homework again.
"Once you're done, help me down stairs and we'll make those big random sandwiches." Kyoko winked which lifted her son's mood. The staff were impressed that 'Junior' independently does his home works without anyone tell him to, his room is spotless and neat and he is quite polite to everyone visiting.
By evening after their show aired, as predicted by the couple, the social media exploded with the posts and comments about the couple and their son being a known athlete under the moniker 'Fall' from wikipedias to their official pages were flooded with usage traffic. However they did not expect that their fans would gush over their son and hoped that the boy would soon join his father and mother's steps on the entertainment industry as an actor as he is already a natural in the camera after they viewed all his blogs.
LME PR team later after the show aired released some personal family pictures of the couple and their son, together with the Hollywood legends Kuu and Juliena.
Their son despite being well known as an athlete, he did not have any fanbase as large as his parents being celebrities, and the few fans that knows him are only into the same sport as him. However after revealing that he is the son of the international actor Tsuruga Ren and Eternal Butterfly Kyoko-chan, the couple's fans started to look up his wiki and plenty of celebrity gossip platforms started making articles about 'Sean Julianne Tsuruga' and his feats as an athlete as well as his normal daily life.
"Hundred things to love about 'Julianne' and here is why." Kyoko read the newly published article. She approved of the cover photo that they used. It was their son widely smiling with the stray dogs he was feeding. She was the one who took the photo and uploaded it on their son's personal page.
"This will be a huge change, mama." Ren said kissing Kyoko as they look at the sky on that evening.
"I guess, but I hope this will give our son some space to grow." Kyoko smiled. "I wasn't worries when he decided to become what he wanted and the attention he was receiving at that time-" She sighed, "I mean, they all look up to him because he was 'Aki' the kid that started the urban trend."
Ren agreed, "People are going to start expecting him to be like us because he's our son. But having your personality and optimism, he is gonna be unpredictable and going to storm their expectations." Ren had high hopes since he knew his son well, "So you finally decided to hop back to acting?" Ren asked in high hopes, he really wanted to act beside her again.
"Not really, I can do little guesting here and there. I talked with Sachou, besides I need to focus on my own business, by the way three Cafes are going to open in Kyoto, are you coming?" She asked.
"Of course! Remember, we are in this together." He kissed her temple, that's the answer he wanted to hear from her.
"Thank you Kuon." And gave him a smooch.
