Merry Christmas, Char! I hope you like this story the same way that I liked to write. One of my Christmas presents was definitely becoming your friend, ily!
the one with the mistletoe
"Would you look at that? It looks like it's mistletoe!" A voice from around the corner practically yelled and Draco stopped in his tracks. He didn't want to see Blaise kissing people because of mistletoe—and not just because he always makes a show of it—but because Draco wanted to be the one that got kissed by Blaise.
He didn't know when this had started, but he had a crush on the Italian boy for a while. It had started with a kiss on a dare from a 'truth or dare' they had played when they were third years, and Draco never managed to forget the taste of Blaise's lips.
Sighing to try to make himself braver, Draco turned around the corner, but took a step back when he saw Blaise casually leaning on the wall, with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
"Took you long enough to come here, Drake," Blaise said, a glint in his eyes that made Draco take another step back. "Are you afraid of me? I thought that you would like to kiss me under the mistletoe, without a dare this time."
Draco just blinked at him, not wanting to believe in his ears. 'This isn't happening. I'm dreaming and I'll wake up anytime now.' Draco was trying to think how one of his dreams managed to come true, while he could feel Blaise's eyes on him.
"You know how many times I had to say that line about the mistletoe? I thought that I was going to lose my voice before you finally appeared here." Blaise was talking normally, so Draco could descart the idea of this being a dream. "Where have you been, by the way? I know that you pass here every day; you have been doing this for the last six years."
Draco lost his breath at that little tidbit, and had to put a hand on the wall to make sure that he didn't fall, but it was the wrong move, seeing how the magic of the mistletoe grabbed him and brought him directly into Blaise's waiting arms.
"Now, that's what I was hoping for," Blaise said smirking and Draco blushed. Blushed! 'What is this boy doing to me? I have a reputation to uphold! The nerve of him! My father shall hear about this!' "You look adorable when you blush."
"I don't know what you mean," Draco mumbled, trying to put some distance before him and Blaise, but the magic of mistletoe was too strong. "Why can't I leave you?"
"Because you love me and want to spend the rest of your days with me?" Blaise cheekily asked, winking at Draco, who blushed harder at his innuendo. "I can make it happen, you just need to do something for me first."
Draco looked it up a little, startled to see Blaise looking at him with a fire in his eyes, and something else… It looked like hope? Draco wasn't sure about it, but he was curious to discover what Blaise wanted.
"What do you want, Blaise?" Draco asked with a whisper, wondering what Blaise could possibly ask. "Tell me so we can walk our separate ways."
"That's where you get it wrong, tesoro," Blaise said and Draco was surprised at the affection nickname. He never heard Blaise calling anyone like that before. "I can't let you go, not when I have you right where I want you."
Draco looked it up to ask what he was talking about, but before he could say something, Blaise had dropped his head and he was kissing Draco. It was their second kiss, but it felt like it was the first one; kissing Blaise sent a thrill of excitement over Draco's spine.
Blaise's arms were around his waist, pulling him closer to his chest and Draco gasped in surprise, giving access to Blaise's tongue and he moaned at the contact. Draco knew that they probably were making a spectacle of themselves, but at the moment he didn't care. All that he cared about was Blaise.
The kiss ended before Draco wished for, but Blaise didn't let go of him, peppering little kisses over his face, and tugging Draco closer to his body. Draco sighed contently, glad to be in Blaise's arms, even if they were in the middle of a hallway and anyone could stop by anytime and see them cuddling like that.
"Finally realised what I have been trying to tell you for the last month?" Blaise's voice broke the happy fog that Draco found himself in.
"Huh?" Draco asked very eloquently, making Blaise snort at him. "You can't kiss me like that and expect that I still can think right away. It takes time to recover."
"So you are saying that I'm a good kisser?" Blaise asked, wiggling his eyebrows, making Draco glare half heartedly at him. "I'll take that as a yes."
Draco chuckled, "Yes, you weirdo. You're a good kisser. Now, can you explain to me what you ask? I didn't understand."
It was Blaise's turn to chuckle and hug Draco tighter; the blonde wasn't going to complain, but he prefered to be snuggling at the Common Room, right in front of the fire.
"I've been trying to get you under a mistletoe so we could have a good snog for the past month, but you were never on time!" Blaise shrieked and Draco blinked owlish at him, before dissolving into laughter. "Laugh all you want, more people tried to make an advance on me than I wished for."
"So you were waiting for me all this time? It's interesting to know," Draco said with a smirk, seeing that Blaise was blushing under his gaze. "I passed here for the last three days and never saw the mistletoe."
Blaise moved uncomfortable and Draco knew that he had something to do with it. "I may or may not have asked for Theo's help to put it up here and make sure that no one else, besides you, would make sure to come this way now."
Draco laughed at his explanation and made a mental note to buy something really nice for Theo for Christmas. But right now, he has pressuring manners to deal with.
"I'm glad to hear it. How about we move this conversation to the common room, in front of the fire?" Draco asked, pecking Blaise's lips quickly. "What do you say?"
"I think that is a fantastic idea! Let's go!" Blaise said, smiling wider and dragging Draco towards the Slytherin common room. But before they could leave the hallway, they were stopped by an invisible barrier, making they both look up. "Oh, look! It's mistletoe!"
Draco chuckled and was glad to be with Blaise by his side, knowing that it was thanks to a mistletoe that they finally got together.
