An old friend and New Surprises.

Harry hired the gnomes to locate Hermione Granger, only after a global magical trace, and coordination the Gnomes gave the results to Mr. Potter.

They found Hermione currently living somewhere in the expanse of the Tanami desert in Australia.

Harry followed the last known trace of Hermione's magical signature and bought a Port-key for international travel. When he got the coordinates, he activated the magical device and moved sheltered by his invisibility cloak.

After regaining his balance, he stood still and took in the image of his surroundings.

The intense blue of the sky, the shades of apricot, tangerine, and orangey-red in the sand, and the pale green of the dried flora. A place to find magic, or let magic find you. Perfect to ground your spirit, as the open sky welcomed you, and the soft wind murmured its greeting.

Harry turned and found faint notice-me-not charm in place, if he moved his head to the right a beautiful home that seemed out-of-place came into focus. If he moved his head to the left, the house dematerialized as though it was vapor. Just like a mirage.

Harry muttered to himself. "Clever girl,"

She built the house as an array of domes that connected with each other a horizontal stretch, that was buried into the sand and a large assembly of solar panels, were in position, on top. All around there was a garden. It was an odd structure. The complex was the color of champagne and for all purposes; it looked like it belonged in the Star Wars universe.

"Of course buried in the ground and with a wind tunnel, the heat means little, and magic is used to a minimum. This is the place," said Harry and waited.

Under the anonymity of his cloak, he watched Hermione Apparate on her front door, dust her dress, just as though she was stepping out of a chimney. Harry remained silent, as he tried to take in her image.

Hermione tapped her wand to a rock, and the rock shivered and shifted to a box from where she retrieved a key. She opened the door to her abode in a hurry, as she absentmindedly checked the time on her left wrist, where her golden watch ticked away.

Hermione's hair, unlike the last time he laid eyes on her, was in a French braid twist that began in one ear and ended in a chignon on the opposite side of her face. Her dress had a flower pattern of lilac blossoms. She had at least half a stone more on her frame, and she filled out gracefully. In a hurry as she was, she seemed happy, her complexion looked sun-kissed, her make-up was tasteful but more than that there was something different about her that exuded calmness. As her sandals touched the frame of the door, he noticed the energy on her shift, to radiate love, happiness, and relief.

For a split second Harry feared, she was going to be greeted by a new love interest.

Harry's jaw dropped as he took notice, it wasn't one but two figures who rushed in her direction. Two small pairs of arms and legs enveloped Hermione, like a salute.

Hermione recognized them and laughed as a beautiful pair of raven-haired twin boys greeted her.

"Mommy!"

"Henry, Matt, how are you my lovely tornados?"

Both laughed silly, at the veiled scolding and endearment.

Harry stood still, digesting the image in front of him. His beautiful friend was now a mother. Still, he waited for the man, in her life, the father of those perfectly fortunate boys, to make an appearance. But no one else came. It was the longest two minutes in his life.

He knew the children were magical because one of them had a magical sight. One twin took notice and said.

"Mommy, there's a man there,"

Hermione turned around with her wand out and found no one.

Harry blinked and decided that the jig was up anyway, so he took his cloak off. He said, "Hermione?"

The boys stared at the newcomer and blinked and both said, "Mommy it's Harry Potter,"

Harry smiled and said, "Well, yeah, and who are you?" He said advancing towards her, only then was he able to see that the twins looked like miniature clones of himself.

Both kids asked to be put down. They formally introduced themselves. Or as formal as the two four-year-olds could get.

"I'm Henry Siwious Granger," followed by "I'm Mattew Jeremy Granger," Up close Harry could see that the boys even had his green eyes. Unlike him, they wore no bottle bottom glasses or had short-sightedness.

He shook their hands and tears rolled on his face. It had been years since he had been angry, his aura shifted and the twins blinked and asked, "Why are you crying?"

"Because I've never been so happy as I am right now, these are happy tears,"

"You're weird," said Henry and Matthew added to each other, "let's go play,"

With the twins gone a moment later, Harry turned to the woman and curled an eyebrow in question, in response, Hermione turned a couple of shades redder. She shrugged and added,

"Come on in and meet the rest of the family,"

Harry gathered that if he had questions on Hermione's departure back on May 3rd of 1998, with the appearance of two mini Harry's the questions doubled. He couldn't wait for the answers.
