1. I do not own Xiaolin Showdown but I do love both of the series. I do own Gloria/Gizmo who is Jack's daughter in fanfiction; she'll be a character throughout the story and I hope you will all like her
2. This fanfiction is an updated version of a story that I had started writing in 2014 and stopped working on in 2016 due to a lack of time and inspiration. Unfortunately I lost the original files and thus have no other choice but to post an entirely new version of the story that was copied and pasted from the original and then edited. Hopefully this version will be grammatically correct and have less errors overall.
3. There will be yaoi somewhere in this fanfiction, therefore if you don't like yaoi you might not want to read this fanfiction.
Anyway enough with my yapping, let's move on to the story Shall we; I hope you enjoy.
When Jack woke up he felt even more relaxed than he had when he had awoken in the Monk's temple and he couldn't help but smile as look down at his daughter and saw that she was still fast asleep.
"Guess I'll be laying here for a little while longer, don't want Gizzy to think I left her." Jack thought to himself not wanting to wake his daughter up because she looked so peaceful.
"Well at least I have something to think about while I wait for her to wake up." Jack continued to think to himself as the memory of Chase kissing him popped into his head.
Though it had been a while since the kiss had occurred the memory of how it felt still was fresh in Jack's mind, he could help but think about it because it still shocked him. Had he been asked years ago if he ever expected Chase to kiss him he would have laughed and said it was impossible, now however the impossible had happened and as he waited for his little Gizmo to wake up it was all he could think about.
"This means something, he's lied to me before about wanting me to be his apprentice but this time he wasn't lying…not with that kiss and that look he gave me." Jack thought to himself before shivering in pleasure at the thought of the look Chase had given him.
Lust, that had been in Chase's eyes after he'd kissed Jack and there was no way Jack could deny it, Jack also was having a hard time convincing himself that his childhood crush on Chase had gone away completely.
"Only it's different now, this isn't a childhood crush anymore. I'm not a naive preteen anymore and I know what Chase is like, I know perfectly well that he used me in the past." Jack's more bitter and less logical younger part of his brain argued inside.
"True he did use you in the past but this is years after the fact and this is a lot different, not only did he admit that he made a mistake not offering you the position when he read the article in the newspaper but that kiss you and him had was real; and so was that look Chase gave you." The more logical adult part of Jack's brain argued.
Jack sighed, it was hard to disagree with either side of the argument because he knew both sides had a point; still Jack couldn't help but think of how the kiss had felt and that look…it made him shiver again at the thought.
"Daddy are you okay, you keep shivering." Gizmo said suddenly surprising Jack because he hadn't even realized that she had woken up.
"Sorry baby did I wake you up?" Jack asked sweetly, feeling bad at the thought that his day dreaming had woken Gizmo up.
"No you didn't wake me up Daddy, I did feel you shivering though; are you okay?" Gizmo asked, looking very worried.
"Don't worry baby I'm okay, Daddy was just thinking about something." Jack said feeling bad that he had worried Gizmo.
"Oh okay, what were you thinking about?" Gizmo asked, looking curious as she sat up and rubbed her tiny eyes.
"I was thinking about Chase and the proposition he gave me." Jack said, deciding to leave out the part about the kiss.
"But that's not all you're thinking about, is it Daddy? Gizmo asked with a knowing giggle.
"You're such a little smarty pants, Daddy is going to have to put you in real school soon if you keep getting so smart." Jack chuckled and tickled his little Gizmo.
"Do you think I'll like real school Daddy, you said that you had meanies in school when you were little." Gizmo giggled as Jack tickled her but also looked worried at the same time.
"You're right Gizzy I did have people who were mean to me in school but I think you'll be better off then I was, you're such a sweet little thing and you're good at making friends… something Daddy was never very good at when he was younger." Jack said to his little girl sweetly as he stopped tickling her.
"That's true I guess, but what if I still have meanies daddy?" Gizmo asked, looking like she felt a little better at first but then looking worried again.
"If someone does try to bully you I want you to talk to your teachers or some other adult, if none of them do anything about it you tell Daddy and he will." Jack said in a sweet but still serious way.
"Would you use your new powers on them Daddy?" Gizmo asked, looking very excited all of a sudden.
"No sweetie I couldn't do that, speaking of powers you have to remember that you can't use yours in front of normal people either." Jack said in a sweet but still stern way.
"Awe but why can't I Daddy?" Gizmo asked not understanding and not looking very happy now.
"Some people might think your powers are scary or some might try to use your powers to do things that you may not want to do." Jack said, trying his best to explain to Gizmo.
"Oh okay, I think I understand… but there's still one problem Daddy." Gizmo said, nodding at first and then looking very serious all of a sudden.
"Oh really, and what would that be my little angel?" Jack asked, unable to help but chuckle at how serious his little girl was acting.
"I know I have to hide my powers but how can I do that Daddy, I didn't even know I had them until a few days ago… now I'm worried that I won't be able to stop using them even if I want to." Gizmo said looking very worried again.
"Oh sweetie try not to look so worried, if it makes you feel any better Daddy doesn't know if he can control his powers either… but I do know how we might be able to change that.
"You do Daddy, how?" Gizmo asked, tilting her head to the side and looking confused in the most adorable way.
"Well remember when I said I was thinking about the proposition Chase made to me, if I said yes he'd be able to help both of us learn how to use our powers." Jack said not knowing what Gizmo would say to this but hoping it would be positive.
"That would be great Daddy but would you really say yes just for me?" Gizmo asked, actually looking excited at the thought that Chase could help them.
"For you baby I'd do anything sweetheart, though to be honest there are a lot of other reasons why it would be good to accept Chase's offer." Jack said sweetly at first before mumbling the last part quietly to himself with a smirk.
"Cause you like Chase don't you Daddy?" Gizmo asked clearly, hearing what Jack had said despite his best efforts to mumble to himself.
"We'll I um… hey you're too young to be asking me things like that you silly little stinker." Jack said in a very embarrassed way at first before instantly changing the subject by starting a tickle fight.
It was wonderful to hear his daughter giggling as they both rolled off the couch onto the floor and tickled each other. Jack hadn't been able to do this kind of thing with Gizmo in a long time and even though his rib was still cracked Jack ignored it and continued the tickle fight.
"Okay you win sweetheart, Daddy surrenders." Jack chuckled almost out of breath and was unable to ignore his cracked rib anymore.
"Did I hurt you daddy?" Gizmo asked sounding a bit worried as she stopped giggling
"No I'm okay sweetie, don't you worry about me." Jack said in a reassuring way
"Well okay daddy if you're sure, but now I have a question." Gizmo said looking very serious again.
"Well go ahead sweetie, ask away." Jack said once again, chuckling at his daughter's seriousness.
"Are you gonna accept Chase's proposition?" Gizmo asked in a cute but seriously curious way.
"Well that depends on you sweetheart," Jack said with a kind smile.
"I think it's a good idea Daddy, we could both learn lots from Chase." Gizmo said with a nod of her little head.
"I was hoping you'd say that sweetie, there's just one more question I need to ask you." Jack said in a bit more of a serious way.
"What's your question Daddy?" Gizmo asked, tilting her head to the side and looking curious.
"I don't know if I should ask, you may not like the question." Jack said in a bit of a vague way knowing full well he'd get a response out of his daughter but unable to help himself from teasing her.
"Awe come Daddy, don't tease me silly… ask your question." Gizmo said pretending to put but not quite managing to hide the smile that she'd had.
"Oh well okay, but be ready not to like it." Jack said still in a teasing tone.
"I'm ready, silly, ask me!" Gizmo squealed, looking excited now as she waited for Jack to ask her the question.
"Okay if you're sure then, if I take Chase's proposition I have a feeling that he'll want us to move to his lair… the question is would you be willing to move." Jack asked not knowing what Gizmo would say but hoping to himself that his daughter would say yes.
