Chapter 2: The Blue Archmages

It's a normal day at school with all the highschoolers getting ready to go home. Koichi's class, however, isn't going home yet.

-Koichi!... Koichi! Screamed a mysterious voice.

-Huh? Who is it?

The voice didn't give an answer, but a girl appeared behind Koichi. Koichi turns around and sees Haruki walking up to him.

-O-Oh… Hey there Haruki.

-Hi! How are you?

-Uhm.. Good, you?

-I'm good too.

-Yeah.

-You know, I was thinking. What if we go for a little drive together? Do you have a car?

-Yes I do.

-Alright! I think we should go…

Haruki stops and looks at Koichi for a second.

-Uhm… Where?

-To Shikagi Mountain.

-Alright! That's perfect for me!

-Alright then! See you on Sunday!

-GoodBye!

The time is rainy, cloudy and the concrete is slippery. Koichi goes out to Shikagi Mountain to go and breathe some fresh air. When he gets to the top he sees a car sideways, blocking the road. Koichi gets out of the car to see what happened.

-Is everything ok?

The person in the car slowly pulls down the window.

-I knew you would come with your blue Miata.

-What?

-One of my enemies told me you did a perfect drift last Monday.

-Just who exactly are you?

-I am the leader of the Blue Archmages, Yutaka Shikanai. Shall we race?

-Uhm… Sure!

Koichi and Yutaka line up their cars.

-I'm gonna do the countdown… Three! Two! One! Go!

The two start racing, and Yutaka pulls ahead.

-Hah! I got the speed on my side!

They enter the first corner, and Koichi Almost catches up to Yutaka in one corner.

-That's impossible! How can his stupid little Miata do drifts like that? My Lan Evo IV is much better!

-This guy is pretty fast. I just have to find the corner to overtake him in.

The Lan Evo IV gets far ahead from the Miata. They enter the next corner.

-I should be able to overtake this guy on the second to last corner on the 450 degree turn!

The race intensifies as Koichi is trying to make Yutaka's tires lose grip. After 7 perfect corners, Koichi decides to stay a bit behind to observe.

-This guy! What is he doing? He is speeding up too much! Yutaka! Slow down! You are going to crash into the guardrail!

Yutaka hears nothing and keeps speeding. Koichi steps on the gas to warn him.

-Yutaka! Slow down! You are going too fast! You won't be able to take that corner!

-It's too late! I'm trying to brake, but it's stuck!

Koichi tries to go ahead of Yutaka to stop him.

-Change to gear one!

Yutaka changes the gear and Koichi helps him by braking in front of Yutaka's Lan Evo IV.

-It worked! The car stopped!

-Thank you for saving my life Koichi! I could've died there!

-Don't worry about it. Just next time don't speed up that much.

Koichi drives Yutaka home, because his Lan Evo IV is in need of some repair.

-Sooo… where do you live again?

-Right around the corner.

-Alright! See you later!

-See ya, and thanks for the ride!

Koichi gets home with some scratches on his car.

-Goddammit! The paint scratched off! Dad!

-What is it?

-I think I need to repaint my car! The paint on the side scratched off!

-What happened?

-Some dumbass shoved me to the guardrail.

-It happens.
