Chapter 5: Renegades

Teleporting out of his clothes was a rather interesting experience. The revelation of Monika being the enemy wasn't enough to sate MC's curiosity about his Stand, after all.

MC had planned to move out of his outer clothes and remain in his underwear. He kept teleporting around, but he would either keep all his clothes or end up completely naked. Frustrated and tired after so many Rollbacks, he finally changed into his pajamas normally and lied on his bed. He suddenly remembered that he homework to do, so he begrudgingly got back up to finish those.

Despite his exhaustion, he managed to finish all his homework. He then pulled out a sheet of paper for his poem.

'Alright,' MC thought. 'Do I make a new poem, or do I keep it the same as last time?'

During his last run, he had somehow been able to write better while he thought about Natsuki. That made more sense eventually after they found their common interest in manga. They had hit it off rather well back then, and if Sayori hadn't asked first, he probably would have asked her out.

Honestly, at this point, he still wasn't sure about who he liked in the group.

He thought about writing for Monika for a moment, but he quickly shook off that thought. Even standing next to her at this point would fill him with anger. He would never write a poem for that monster.

That left only Sayori and Yuri. He had forgotten to read the Portrait of Markov last time, so that was something he had vowed to do this time. At the same time, he was worried about Sayori's health after finding out she had a Stand.

After thinking about it for some time, MC decided that writing for Sayori would be a good idea. As he thought of her and her mannerisms, the words slowly trickled into his mind and onto the page of paper in front of him. Soon enough, he wrote his first draft. He went through it a few times and struck out and added some other things in the poem, perfecting it.

Smiling at his product, he slid the sheet into his bag as he called it a night. Writing poems really got to you once you get the hang of it.

"HEEEEEYYYY!" An annoying girl ran up to me.

This was Sayori, MC's closest friend. The reason that he had awoken his Stand, Day One.

"Hey, Sayori," he greeted the coral-haired girl. "How're you doing?"

"I'm great!" Sayori cheered, bubbly as always.

MC chuckled. "You're not sick, aren't you?"

Sayori shook her head as she skipped in step with MC.

"So," she asked. "Did you write a poem?"

"Yep," MC agreed as he patted his bag. "Got it in here. What about you?"

Sayori nodded as well.

MC grinned as he remembered something about Sayori's poem last time. "Did you have eggs and toast?" he asked.

Sayori gasped. "I did! How did you know? Did you Rollback?"

MC laughed as he shook his head. "No, no I didn't. Remember last time?" MC put up air quotes as he recited, "I want breakfast."

Sayori immediately reddened at MC's tease. "W-Well… shut up, you meanie!"

MC laughed even louder as Sayori cutely pouted at him.

Dying down a bit, MC asked. "Did you write your poem today morning as well?"

"Well…" Sayori looked away. "Yeah. I mean, I had a lot to think about last night, right?"

MC grimaced as he nodded. He decided to change the subject. "Is it the same poem?" he asked.

"We want to keep this rewind business private, right?" Sayori smiled. "So, if we keep everything just like before the reset, then we should be good!"

MC paused for a bit, then replied. "That's actually a good idea. Sorry, but I wrote a new poem."

"That's okay!" Sayori cheered. "Your poems are always great to read, so I'd love to read a new one."

"Hey!" MC struck back. "I'd love to read a new poem of yours too!"

"Ehehe… well, you're not getting one!" Sayori shouted as she ran away.

"Sayori!" MC yelled, ignoring the attention he was garnering. "Come back here!"

Soon enough, almost sprinting the whole way, the duo managed to make it to the school. Waving goodbye, they headed for their relative classes.

Classes went on as normal, until it was the period before lunch.

As MC made it into the class, he noticed a familiar head of sandy hair with green eyes and brown skin.

"Yo, MC!" Goeff Joster yelled from his seat.

"JoJo! What's up!" Walking up to him, he greeted him by grasping his offered hand and a brief hug.

"Not much, bud. You got class here?" JoJo asked.

"Yep, didn't know we shared this."

"There's a lot you don't know about me, mate."

"Right, Joestar."

JoJo sniggered as MC made his remark. Having said their hellos, the took their respective seats, which were regrettably, quite far from each other.

The class went on as expected, and soon enough, the bell rang indicating the start of lunch.

Their teacher took off before the class, giving them their time to hang out and get ready for lunch.

"Hey, MC," JoJo came up to him. "Let's-"

"Yo, yo, Yowaida-san, I don't have anything on me! Please let me go!"

MC and JoJo looked to the source of the noise, seeing a boy get harassed by one of the top scorers in their class.

Keshugai Yowaida. MC had briefly heard that he was a perfect student once, meek, yet studious. Sadly, he would get regularly bullied back then. That all changed when one day, he had fought back against his bullies and obliterated them entirely. No one knew how he got strong enough to take them on, but that experience drastically changed him. He had kept up his marks, but he eventually took up the position that he had once despised. He became a bully himself.

MC heard JoJo tsk next to him. "Bullies. They fucking suck."

MC didn't say anything back, choosing to keep watching the interaction in front of them.

Yowaida pushed the rather short student back onto the wall, keeping a firm grip on his collar. "Didn't I tell you to get lunch money ready for me, you asshat?"

The student was frantic at this point, shaking his head as he kept his widened eyes on his assailant. "I-I have my bento box! I can give you that!"

"And why the fuck do you think I want your shitty food, huh?" Yowaida remarked. "I don't want whatever fucked up shit you or your filth of a mom made. I want my money."

The boy was crying at this point. "I-I-I don't have it… I-I'm s-sorry."

Yowaida gritted his teeth as he lightly pulled on his jet-black hair. "Oy! I hate it when idiots like you cry! Shut your damn eyes up!"

The boy, despite being commanded to, couldn't stop crying, only looking even more afraid.

"Argh, you weak fucking bastard." Yowaida said. "Well, this is what you get, I guess."

Immediately his right arm took on a bile yellow aura as a projection of a yellow arm with purple fingers enveloped it.

'A Stand!' MC raised his eyes, a motion that didn't go unnoticed by JoJo.

Yowaida immediately drove his fist into the boy's chest. The strike was strong enough the make the poor boy spit out a mouthful of blood.

MC gritted his teeth at the terrible display of power abuse in front of him.

"Are you gonna keep crying, you weak bastard?!" he yelled out, making the boy only cry even more.

Before he could land another punch onto him, MC dove forward and punched him on his unguarded side, pushing him away from the boy.

"MC, you fucking idiot!" JoJo hissed under his breath.

Ignoring JoJo's remark, MC turned to the hurt boy. "Get away from here," he told him. Desperately nodding, the boy picked himself up and hightailed it out of the classroom. Only three people were left behind: MC, JoJo and Keshugai Yowaida.

"Oh, look, a hero." Yowaida remarked as he stood up. "If only you helped me when I got beat up."

"Why the hell do you do this, man?" MC asked.

"Because the weak need to know their place!" he yelled out as a reply. "You need to grovel at the shoes of the strong if you're weak. I learned that the hard way."

He grinned as he said, "But now, with my Rockabye, I can make myself stronger than almost anyone!"

Rockabye emerged completely from behind him. It was a yellow stand with green flecks running through its body. Its build was similar to Day One's, but it had silver plating on its chest and legs. Its eyes were red and gave a cold gaze at MC.

"Alright, JoJo," MC said. "We can take this guy together."

He heard no reply.

"JoJo?" MC turned around to look for him.

Turns out, there were only two people left in the room.

MC gritted his teeth a little, but he didn't hold it against him. He broke his rules, after all.

Despite that, MC took his stand in front of Yowaida, gazing at his equally cold red eyes and dark skin. He made sure not to look at his Stand.

"Alright, let's do this!" Keshugai yelled. "I'll make you pay!"

MC held his guard up as his enemy charged head on at him. He delivered a punch which MC luckily managed to dodge. However, Rockabye immediately followed up with another attack in the same fashion, catching MC in the chest.

MC was sent flying back from the impact of the stand.

"HAHA!" Yowaida cried out. "You see, I am superior to you in every way! You absolutely cannot defeat me!"

MC gritted his teeth as he pushed himself back up to a stand.

Yelling out yet again, Yowaida came at him one more time. He gave the same attack, followed by the same shadowed hit.

But this time, MC was ready for it.

Dodging the first attack like earlier, he immediately yelled out, "Day One!"

The green Stand immediately shot out of MC's shoulder, intercepting Rockabye's attack by countering at its chest with a 'KIAI!'. MC mimicked his Stand's actions, punching Yowaida on the chest as well.

Yowaida was immediately shot back and let to crash into a pile of tables organized for the class right before. Yowaida immediately used his Stand to stand back up, spitting out some red as he did so. He grinned.

"So, you have a Stand too," he said. "Not like that helps. That just makes me want to kill you even more."

Yowaida charged forward yet again, bringing out his Stand to attack. As it was about to deliver a punch, MC immediately teleported out of the way, standing behind him.

"Day One!" he yelled again as the Stand landed several well placed hits behind Yowaida.

"Argh!" Yowaida was pushed into more chairs and tables. "Get back here, you slippery mouse!"

Yowaida charged yet again, only for MC to teleport out of way again. Standing behind him, he held up a desk sitting nearby and threw it at Yowaida directly.

Yowaida however, hadn't dashed headfirst into the desks last time and instead turned around immediately. Seeing the desk at the last moment, he reflexively ducked as he dashed ahead yet again. Having stayed in the shadow of the desk, MC hadn't noticed him coming up to him until he was right at his face.

"I win," he said as he made his Stand slap MC on the face.

"Huh? That was weak." MC asked as Day One retreated back into him.

"Of course, it was!" Yowaida madly laughed. "I wasn't trying to simply hit you, after all! Rockabye, this is our chance!"

MC grit his teeth yet again as Rockabye came up to him. "Day One!" he yelled out again, only to be met in the face by a full impact attack from Rockabye.

"Argh," MC uttered as he picked himself up from the scattered desks. "Day One!" he yelled, wondering why his Stand wasn't responding to him.

"Don't you see it yet, you idiot?!" Yowaida said. "Your Stand is gone! Erased! That's my Stand ability!

Stand User: Keshugai Yowaida

Stand Name: Rockabye (by Clean Bandit)

Power: B

Speed: C

Range: C (5m)

Durability: C

Precision: C

Development Potential: D

MC widened his eyes. 'Erased? That's bad…'

"Now you see why I'm the strongest?" Yowaida boasted. "It doesn't matter if the strongest Stand User tries to attack me! I'll always be able to defeat them by erasing their Stand!"

Summoning Rockabye once again, Yowaida hunched his legs again. "Now, time for you to die."

'DORA!'

A flash of red immediately punched Yowaida in the face, sending him away from MC.

"Do you really think I'd just let you hurt my friend?" A voice resounded from the entire room.

"The… The hell?!" Yowaida demanded. "Who are you? Show yourself!"

"Who am I?" the voice repeated, not revealing a source. "My name is Geoff Joster, from the Joestar bloodline. I have a legacy that I am to fulfil, and I will not stop until I do so. Someone as cheap as you won't be able to do a thing against me. Renegades!"

Suddenly Renegades popped up directly from the ground behind Yowaida. 'DORA!' it yelled out as it punched Yowaida once again, catching him entirely off guard.

As Yowaida picked himself up, he questioned what he was seeing. "Is this a long range Stand? One as strong and fast as this? How is this possible?"

"That's because you're an idiot." JoJo's voice resounded from the whole room yet again as Renegades spawned behind Yowaida one last time.

'DORADORADORADORADORADORADORADORA!'

Renegades finished its rush, leaving Yowaida battered and bruised on top of another wreck of tables, his limbs and body tangled after the extreme elongation it went through.

"Give MC his Stand back." JoJo's voice came again.

"O… Okay…" Yowaida hissed despite his injuries. MC quickly tested it after standing up again, and sure enough, the green Stand showed up next to him. MC smiled upon seeing his Stand once again.

"MC, we're done here." JoJo's voice rang out again. "Come outside."

Nodding, MC smoothened his clothes and wiped off the excess blood on his face as he stepped out. His eye still stung, and he was bruised, but there was nothing serious otherwise.

Before stepping out of the door, he turned back to Yowaida.

"You know," MC said, "You're kinda right about being weak and strong. Why don't you try to help the weak become strong then?"

Yowaida was only half-conscious at this point, but he could hear what MC was saying. As he passed out, a smile glimmered onto his face.

As soon as MC stepped out of the class, he noticed Joster crouching right behind the door, blocking it.

"Squeeze through," he said. And so, MC followed, shoving his body through the narrow gap between the JoJo-blocked door and the wall.

Looking back at JoJo, he noticed that his palm was on the ground and the seemed to be flush with the ground too. Looking more carefully, he could see that there were tiny strings of skin leading out of his body and into the classroom.

"Wait," MC realized. "Is that how you brought your Stand out there without exposing yourself?"

JoJo smiled as he nodded in affirmation. "My Stand allows me to stretch out any part of my body and it can emerge from extended parts as well. So, I made a web of my skin on the classroom floor, allowing my Stand to emerge from anywhere in the class. Virtually invisible, too. Not everyone will notice thin string on the floor, after all."

JoJo finally picked up his hand after collecting back all of his skin, rubbing it as he rose up. MC smiled upon seeing his new friend's ingenuity.

"That level of control is what I want from you, MC," JoJo jabbed a finger at MC chest. "You need to master your Stand still. And please, try to keep your protector urges down? I'm pretty sure my cover is completely busted by now."

"Sorry, sorry." MC chuckled but winced as his eye strained.

"Ah," JoJo said. "Black eye. Those can be bastards. Especially when you have to sport them for days."

MC nodded, noticing how that eye refused to open as much. He was then interrupted by his rumbling stomach.

"Hungry, huh?" Joster said as MC nodded.

The bell chose to ring right then and there.

"Wait, what?" MC yelled. "I haven't eaten at all!"

The piano.

This was her one source of abode. The one place where she could truly be herself.

She was glad that she had picked this up. Soothing piano tracks had always helped her calm down after a difficult day, but that didn't hold a candle to playing a piano yourself at all.

As she played, she tried to wrap her head around everything that was going on.

'The script is broken. At least for those two,' she had noticed. She had no clue why. She had done what she had do for it, but there was also the importance of a decision looming over her.

'If both of them are affected,' Monika picked herself off of the piano and walked out of the room. 'Then I'll play it safe and move on to the next option.'

Making it into the school library, the brunette grinned as she saw a head of lavender hair sitting at the corner all alone.

A/N: End Scene. Exeunt Right.

Here's the second Stand battle of this story, with many more to come. After this we will get the confusion between Act 2 Stands and Act 2 of the DDLC run.

Hey, what if DDLC was a Stand? As in the game? Stupid thought, but a fun one.

This chapter mainly exists as a sneak peek into how powerful a simple ability like elongation can get if applied in the right way. If what JoJo did was still unclear, please let me know. But I'll explain it here anyway.

JoJo elongated individual particles of the skin on his palms as he rested them onto the ground, controlling them as they spread out into the room. These skin strings formed a network on the floor of the room. Since Renegades can emerge from any part of his body, and since those strings are still connected to him, JoJo is able to bring out Renegades from anywhere on the floor. This ability will persist as long as the strings stay connected to him.

Honestly, Renegades is a very powerful Stand. It's ability is incredibly versatile, being able to be used to further the Stand's effectiveness in terms of range, to trap people, to slow enemies down, the options are numerous.

Anyway, I dunno what else to say here, which is why I'm writing all this garbage. The next chapter is already complete, because I was bored, but all I need to do now is proofread it. I'll see you guys very soon in the next chapter.
