Chapter 1 Traveling to the past
In a void, two people wake up at the same time as they look around their surroundings, they are not sure where they are or why they are here.
"Ash? Where are we?" The honey-haired girl asks.
"I don't know, Serena." Ash replies, "But really, strange things are happening towards us..."
"Welcome to my realm, located beyond both time and space." Ash and Serena notice the bright light talking. "It is well that you are here."
As the glow dies down, it turns out to be Arceus. Ash gasps, "Arceus?"
"Wait, what?" Serena asks, "You know this Pokemon, Ash?"
"I am that which humans call Arceus." Arceus says. "Ash and Serena...did you two remember what happened to you before waking up here?"
Ash and Serena remember what happened. It is after Ash won against Leon in the World Championships, he comes home to find his friends all gathering by his side. They are not there to congratulate him for being the world champion, instead, they know that Ash is a rich man, and they want Ash to give him the money as compensation for dragging them through his journey. Ash is very confused, considering that they are the ones willing to come with him through his journey, not the other way around. Serena, Lillie, her brother Gladion, and Ash's mother Delia all share the same confusion as to the others as they stand by Ash's side. Thus it causes the others to send out their Pokemon and attack them.
Even though they have Pokemon to protect them, they decide to play dirty by aiming at the people instead of Pokemon, Ash and Serena are the ones who get hit, and thus they are sent to the emergency ward while the traitors are running for their lives after realizing that they have killed two people. At the ward, Ash and Serena eventually stop breathing as their Pokemon are now crying and weeping for their death. Their bodies are buried in the garden close to Delia's house, and Lillie has been crying for their deaths as well.
"So we were dead..." Ash and Serena frown. "But my mom...my friends...how were they doing?"
Arceus says, "With the help of Aether Foundation, they were brought to safety, along with your Pokemon. I would give you a second chance to live again, only if you helped me with something."
"Anything to get back to our own world, Pikachu, Mom, Lillie, and everyone who still trusts us...I want to see them again." Ash says.
"Then seek out all Pokemon, and you shall find me once more." Arceus says as he glows again, this time, the phones on their hands suddenly glow white, and they are flying away from their hands, much to their surprise. Arceus's powers cause it to transform as the white light blinds the two of them.
"Wake up!" Ash and Serena hear a faint voice, and as they are making sure if they hear it or not, they hear the voice again. "Ohhh...Do wake up, won't you?"
When they slowly open their eyes, they see a Rowlet, a Cyndaquil, and an Oshawott looking at them, along with someone behind the three Pokemon. He is wearing a lab coat with some symbol on it, and he seems to be concerned. "Are you two alright?"
"Serena, are you alright?" Ash says as he tries to help her up, and she nods, "I'm fine."
"You two gave me quite the shock, falling from the sky like that...But thank goodness, you seem unharmed!" The man says.
"Um...sorry to be rude, but who are you?" Serena asks.
"I'd like to ask you the same! I mean...you fell out of the SKY, you understand. Come now - who in the world does that?!" The man sighs. "I must say, your clothing is...unusual. You wouldn't happen to have an acquaintance in these parts, would you?"
"I don't know about that..." Ash says.
"I see...You seem to be in a bit of a pickle." The man sighs. "Might I offer some directions? Do you have somewhere around here you could stay?"
"I don't think we have, we don't know where exactly we are." Serena adds.
"So you don't know anyone here, and you don't even know where to spend the night...Well...this is a proper pickle indeed. Are you quite sure you'll be able to survive?" The man continues to ask.
"What do you mean by surviving?" Ash asks. "That sounds horrifying..."
The man notices their frown and he says, "I see...Well, no gentleman would abandon two people in such need!"
As he hears the three Pokemon's cry, he says, "Oh my, I'd completely forgotten! I had just caught up to these three runaway Pokemon when you tumbled out of the sky...It's almost as if they knew you'd appear here! Ah, but do you even know what a Pokemon is?"
"Of course, we know." Ash says.
The person smiles, "My, that's a relief! Though you fell from the sky, it seems we have some common ground, eh? Yes, well, these three Pokemon belong to me, the mysterious creatures that they are! Oh yes, and...what might your names be?"
"I am Serena, and this is my boyfriend Ash." Serena says and Ash nods.
"Oho! We have a couple here. So you're called Ash and Serena! Those names have quite the ring to them! I imagine they must have some lovely meaning. Oh, but I do apologize! I haven't even introduced myself! My name is Laventon. I am something of a Pokemon Professor."
"I guess so, judging by your outfit?" Ash asks.
"That is to say, I'm a scholar seeking to deepen our understanding of Pokemon." Professor Laventon says as he turns to the three Starter Pokemon. "Yes, Pokemon such as these three here, whi-"
Before he can finish, those three Pokemon run off again. Professor Laventon gasps, "Oh, blast and bother! My darling Pokemon! Why must you run from me again?!"
"Does that happen very often?" Serena asks.
"I'm terribly sorry, but do you think you could help me round them up? I beg you!" Laventon says as he runs off, "Wait, you three! Waiiit!"
Ash and Serena look at each other, and Ash says, "That was weird."
"Yeah, but still, he didn't tell us where we are." Serena sighs. "But he is a Professor, that means we can trust that guy, right?"
"I guess." Ash says. "But I think I might have a clue of where we are. If that mountain is Mount Coronet...then we are in the Sinnoh Region."
"Sinnoh Region...Arceus was one of the Mythical Pokemon that was discovered in Sinnoh, right?" Serena asks.
Just then, they find two glowing things on the ground as they rush to pick them up, it turns out to be phones that are shaped like Arceus. Ash says, "Okay, I wonder what are those..."
"Those might be our phones, but I can feel a strange power emanating from it..." Serena says.
"Me too..." Ash adds as he opens the phone, with Serena doing the same.
"Ash and Serena." Suddenly, a message appears from the screen, and Ash asks, "Wait, is that Arcues?"
"Maybe." As Serena types the message, it only replies, "I bestow upon thee this Arc Phone and thy mission: seek out all Pokemon."
"Okay...so Arceus wants us to seek every Pokemon in the Sinnoh Region?" Ash asks.
"How many Pokemon are actually there?" Serena asks.
"My friend Dawn told me that there are 151 Pokemon in the local Sinnoh Pokedex...but they don't have Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott...so I guess maybe there are more?"
"It might be possible." Serena sighs as they find the Professor standing in the middle of the road.
"*sigh* Alas...Yet another miss!" Laventon frowns as he turns around to face Ash and Serena. "Aha! I'm glad you've come to my rescue, my new friends from the sky! I tried catching my little runaways by tossing some Poke Bals their way, but I'm not the best at this sort of thing, you see... I'd love to give you a go at it, but perhaps I should tell you a bit about these three first?"
"No need, Professor. We already know about them. The Grass-type one is Rowlet, Rowlet can photosynthesize like a plant, and apparently, it battles using its sharp feathers. The Fire-type one is Cyndaquil. The fire burning on Cyndaquil's back will flare up whenever it is surprised or irate. And the final one is Oshawott, a Water-type. Oshawott naps while floating on the water, and it can battle using the shell-like object on its belly." Ash says. "I owned these three in the past, so I knew about them."
"So all you need for us is to catch those three Pokemon using Pokeballs?" Serena asks.
"Looks like you've got a hang of it." Professor Laventon takes out 50 Pokeballs, which is different from what they used to see. "Here you are, these are Poke Balls! Throw these at Pokemon to catch them."
"They look different from what we used to throw, but I guess it would be the same, right, Ash?" Serena asks.
"I guess so." Ash says.
"Poke Balls are a recent invention, you see, Throw one of them at a Pokemon, and...why, the Pokemon will shrink down and fit inside the ball, comfy as can be. And with that, you've caught a Pokemon!"
"Recent...so not only we are in Sinnoh..but rather we came back in time..." Serena whispers to Ash.
"Yeah...so these are actually the first Pokeballs, and the ones we used in our world are the improvements from this one..." Ash whispers back.
"I know we've just met, but I'm afraid I've no one else to turn to. I'd be awfully grateful if you could catch my three runaways!" Laventon says as Ash and Serena nod as they rush to catch the three Pokemon. They also realize that Pikachu and their other Pokemon are not with them, that means only the two of them as they can only throw these Pokeballs. Fortunately, Serena throws one Pokeball at Oshawott, and it is captured with ease.
"It seems you two've quite the knack for this Pokemon catching business. The jolly useful skill you have there." Laventon says. "Still, this is most unusual. You don't seem fearful of Pokemon in the slightest..."
"Well, it is really common from what we came from." Ash says as he throws another Pokeball on Rowlet, causing it to be captured.
"I can hardly believe it, incredible! You know, many people fear to even approach Pokemon - never mind catch them. Bravo, indeed!"
And then they finally find the Cyndaquil, but as Serena throws the Pokeball, it just breaks out.
"Ah yes, I'm afraid that can happen...Poke Balls are hardly 100% foolproof. Give it another go." Laventon adds.
Ash throws the Pokeball again, and this time it is a success. After returning the three Pokemon to the Professor, he says, "Thank you very much, indeed! Oh, what a relief to have them all back. You see, the three Pokemon you caught have only just arrived at the village to help with our research. They won't yet listen to anyone. And as I mentioned, they bolted from the village almost as if they knew you'd come falling...But I must say, Ash, Serena, I was taken aback by how well you use Poke Balls! How is it that you catch Pokemon so ably when you've only just arrived here? One can't help but think there's a reason you appeared here and now..."
"Well, we are on a mission to catch all kinds of Pokemon." Ash says as he shows the Professor his phone. "This is an Arc Phone, we found it on the ground a few minutes ago."
"What an odd device. Could it be...guiding you somehow?" Laventon asks. "If you'll indulge me for a moment, there's something I'd like to share with you. You see, I have a dream - to complete this region's first complete record of its Pokemon! We in the field call such a catalog a Pokedex. A proper Pokedex is a wonderful work of research, containing detailed records of all the Pokemon to be found in the region! But...in order to properly document Pokemon, one must, of course, catch them. And therein lies the rub, I'm afraid. Poke Balls have only just been invented, and not many have mastered the skill of using them."
"I see." Ash says.
"Enter you two - two people with clear talents for catching Pokemon! Your goal is to seek out every Pokemon, and mine is to have all those Pokemon caught. A situation ripe for teamwork, don't you agree?"
"I guess so." Serena says. "Maybe we really can help each other out."
"Then whoever and from wherever you may be, I welcome you with open arms!" The Professor smiles."We've a Pokedex to complete! First things first -let's get these Pokemon to the village! Then we'll sort out your lodgings and find you some proper clothes and a meal and all that. Follow me, then! Onward to Jubilife Village!"
As the Professor leaves, Ash says, "So we are in the Sinnoh Region a lot of centuries ago, when Sinnoh doesn't have a Pokedex, and Poke Balls were just invented. I can see why we have to survive in this area."
"But it will be fine, I guess?" Serena asks. "I mean, we can trust the Professor, right?"
"I know that Professors are nice people." Ash says as they look at the Coronet Mountain, which has some space and time rift on it. "But I wonder..." Ash mutters.
And here is the first chapter of the Hisui Story, the pairing is Amourshipping, and Ash and Serena are going to embark on a journey to catch them all. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will begin with the whole quest.
