Chapter Five:
Departure
The first week of summer had passed by very slowly, and needless to say, Harry had been miserable. Because of the fiasco last summer, with Dobby dropping the cake on the visitors from Uncle Vernon's company, Harry had been punished rather severely and locked in his room for the week with only stale bread and water as substance for his growing teenage body. Harry had owned Tom the night prior and was still awaiting his response. While he was grounded, Draco and he had been corresponding on a daily basis, sometimes more. Harry found he and Draco had a lot in common albeit having grown up under different circumstances. Harry was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of a red barn Owl tapping on his window. Harry hurried over and opened the window the Owl. It held out its leg for Harry to untie the correspondence. "Harry" it said on the front of the parchment in a neat cursive handwriting Harry didn't recognize.
Harry gave the beautiful barn Owl an Owl treat quickly before opening the letter.
Harry,
I will be retrieving you and your belongings in a fortnight's time. By the time you receive this letter, I'll be making plans for you here at Slytherin Manor.
Be prepared.
Sincerely,
T.M.R.
Harry folded up the parchment and put it back in the envelope. And stored it away from prying eyes in one of his school books he had snuck upstairs. He took out some parchment and wrote Tom a reply:
Tom,
I happily await your arrival. I can't wait to dispose of these filthy muggles. They've locked me a away like a prisoner. I was at the receiving end of a very bad beating once I got home.
Sincerely,
Harry
Harry fastened the reply to the beautiful barn Owl. "please take my reply back to him," then the Owl flew out the window and into the night.
The week leading up to Tom's arrival passed by slowly. Harry grew bored very quickly of everything until his Aunt Marge was supposed to arrive. Harry shivered at the prospect of that. He hated Vernon's sister and how her stupid bloody bulldogs would attack him. He was tired of the abuse at the hands of his family. They were the worst kind of muggles imaginable.
Harry waited on them hand and foot. And did as he was told as well as made sure not to make any sounds other than saying , "Yes, Aunt Petunia," or "Yes, Uncle Vernon," and made himself scarce as possible so he would not be the receiving end of his horrible muggle relatives' wrath.
The morning of Tom's arrival came, finally, and Harry was excited to finally be leaving the hellhole he called "home". There was a polite knock, and Vernon Dursley barked, "Well, don't just stand there! Get the door boy!"
"Yes, Uncle Vernon," Harry said with a sigh.
He hurried through the hall to the front door, and opened it quickly. Standing in front of him was Tom, ready to pick him up.
Harry smiled. He had forgotten that thus was to be the day he would be leaving the Dursley's forever, never to see them again.
"Tom," he said softly.
Tom smirked, "Hello Harry. Are you ready?"
Before Harry could answer, he heard his Uncle bellow from the drawing room, "Well, who is it boy?!"
Harry flinched upon hearing that. He saw a dark look of furry cross Tom's face. "So, these are the kind of people you deal with."
"I wasn't joking when I said they were the worst kind of muggles imaginable," the teen meekly replied.
Then he heard his gigantic whale of an Uncle stomp out of the drawing room to see who it was at the door. He saw a handsome man standing at the door and his tone changed very quickly. "Hello, sir. What is it we can help you with?"
Harry could have sworn he saw dollar signs appearing in his uncle's eyes. "I'm here for Harry," Tom replied cordially.
Then Harry saw a dark look cross his uncle's eyes, "What would you want with a freak?" he asked dark and gruffly.
Harry saw a dark look cross Tom's face. He looked at Harry's Uncle very frigidly and replied, "I always hated when muggles like you abused magical children," The sound of his voice chilled Vernon Dursley to the bone so much so that he started to sputter uncontrollably.
Tom entered the house and closed the entrance door behind him. Harry heard him softly start casting multiple privacy spells and wards as well as heard Tom cast a spell that would make his magic undetectable to the ministry. Harry saw him draw out his bone-white wand made of Yew wood. Harry could see the look of shock on his uncles face and the fear when he stuttered, "You will n-not be doing those f-f-freakishly things in my house," The terrified whale of a man bellowed as he shook in his slippers.
Harry could see the murderous look in Tom's eyes. " Incarcerous!" Tom said.
Ropes shot out of the tip of his wand and bound Vernon Dursley in the hallway, " Levicorpus!" Tom shot out the next spell and moved Vernon into the drawing room couch.
The man sputtered and struggled against the magical binds, but it was no use; they were secure. Then Tom did the same to both Petunia and Dudley. They remained silent and afraid. "Harry, what do you think I should do with them?" Enquired Tom as he spun his wand between his fingers in thought.
"I want them to experience what I experienced at their hands," Harry replied, anger and infuriation leaking into his voice as it shook.
"What a wonderful idea," Tom said, chuckling darkly.
Tom started muttering the Karma Curse under his breath along with some intricate wand waving and different gestures. Then, he stopped, just as suddenly as he started. Harry started to hear the 3 of them scream bloody murder as if their insides were being contorted and set on fire. Bruises and cuts and broken bones started forming on their bodies. The first to succumb to their injuries was Vernon Dursley. He suddenly started coughing up blood, then he just stopped; his eyes became unseeing. His heart gave out. Soon after, Dudley and Petunia followed. Tom coldly cancelled all the other spells and Harry grabbed his belongings from his cupboard. Tom made all of them smaller but Harry's wand, grabbed Hedwig's cage, and with a loud crack! They were gone.
