Chapter 12 Pikachu Reunion!
Back at the Obsidian Fieldlands, they find a woman named Yeo as she says, "Hrmmm...That marvelous rich tone...How is it produced?! I must know!"
Then she notices Ash and Serena as she exclaims, "Oh, err, hello! Didn't see you there...Wait, you're from the Survey Corps! Wonderful, just the person I need!"
"What do you need from us?" Ash asks.
"I want to learn more about Kricketot. You must be curious about them as well, right? I mean, how do they make those sounds of theirs? It's a musical mystery like no other! I'd be in your debt if you could complete Kricketot's page in your Pokedex and show it to me so I - er, I mean, we can uncover the truth!"
"Sure, I already finished it." Ash shows the woman the page of the Kricketot.
"Oh, so Kricketot produce that curious sound of theirs by hitting their antennae together! Hmm...I wonder if Anvin from the Supply Corps could put together an instrument with a similar shape to those antennae...Well, for now, thanks for going out of your way to solving this tonal enigma!"
Then they get three Vivichokes as thanks, they need this item so that they can make Revives. Serena says, "Now let's see we can try to catch some Pokemon as well."
They find a rock shaking in the middle of the road, and Ash decides to have Floatzel investigate it. Inside the rock is no other than a Geodude. Serena says, "Geodude comes from the rocks...that's amazing."
"And there are also some Geodude over there at Deertrack Heights." Ash says as he points at the Pokemon. "We need to catch a heavy one, defeat one with a Water move, and defeat one with a Grass move. We also need to have it try out Rollout."
And Serena decides to command Rowlet to do it, while Ash has Floatzel to do the other honors. And in the end, they manage to catch a heavy one in their team.

Just then, they get a call from the Arc Phone, and Ash turns it on to find Lillie, "Lillie, about the request that I've given you. Have you found it?"
"Yes, about the Wyrdeer. We find out that they are really rare in modern times, and we think that it is an evolution of Stantler." Lillie says. "The reason that it is not common in Johto or other places is that to evolve Stantler, you have to have it learn a move called Psyshield Bash."
"Okay, and it seems like we have found an Alpha Stantler." Serena says, "I'll go capture it, thanks for the information, Lillie."
"Anything for you two." Lillie ends the call as they go to fight the Alpha Stantler. It is thanks to the help of Staraptor, who manages to go with Close Combat, that they manage to capture the large Stantler.
"So it has learned Psyshield Bash...but it doesn't seem to evolve as well. I wonder what do we miss..." Ash asks.
"Maybe we need to try using an agile style Psyshield Bash several amounts of times? I mean, the highest requirement needs 40 each." Serena suggests.
"Let's try it out." Ash says.
By battling the Geodude, Bidoof, and Kricketot, they manage to accumulate 20 Psyshield Bashes with agile style, and much to their surprise, it really evolves into a Wyrdeer.
"Wow, I can't believe that worked." Serena says. "Our first new Pokemon..."
"It will be great to have it teach the other Stantlers in the Aether Foundation so that they can evolve into a Wyrdeer." Ash says with delight. "Let's see the requirements...it needs Psyshield Bash, Extrasensory, a strong style move, and an agile style move."
"That's easy." Serena says. "We can do it in no time."

The black orbs shine with an uncanny light when the Pokémon is erecting invisible barriers. The fur shed from its beard retains heat well and is a highly useful material for winter clothing.
After finishing the Stantler, they decide to head west to the Sandgem Flats, but first, they are stopped by a Munchlax who is looking for food.
"A Munchlax is even here as well." Ash says. "That must be quite a rare encounter."
"You're right. I have some berries left." Serena says as she throws a berry at the Pokemon, and Munchlax really is a heavy eater, as he is eating, Serena uses the chance to capture it.

And when they stop at Floaro Gardens, they notice a Pichu sleeping in the middle of the road.
"That's a Pichu...which means...maybe your Pikachu is somewhere nearby!" Serena whispers excitedly.
"If that's the case...we've better find it, but first, let's catch this Pichu." Ash says as he throws a Pokeball to capture the Pichu.

After sending it out, it was yawning and realizes that he is caught. Ash says, "Sorry, Pichu. But here, have an Oran Berry."
Pichu tastes the berry and it squeals a little, but just as Ash is about to give her another one, a shadow swiftly takes the berry and leaves.
"Hey! What's the big idea?" Ash asks but flinches as he notices the back of the Pokemon: A Pikachu.
"Wait, that Pikachu..." Ash gasps as Serena asks, "You don't think that is..."
They quickly rush towards the Pikachu, and they arrive at the Sandgem Flats. They are shocked to see that Pikachu is giving a berry to a Snorlax. "Pikachu and Snorlax...No way..."
"Are you telling me that Snorlax is also one of your Pokemon as well?" Serena asks.
"Yeah..." Ash quickly rushes towards them and says, "Pikachu! Snorlax!"
Both Pokemon turn around and they gasp, especially Pikachu, who can't believe his eyes, he rushes towards Ash and jumps into his arms.
"Pikachu! I miss you a lot!" Ash hugs the mouse as Pikachu nuzzles his trainer, accidentally using Thunderbolt to shock him. "Your Thunderbolt is amazing as always..."
"It is nice to see you again, Pikachu." Serena says, and Pikachu jumps from Ash's paralyzed body to nuzzle her.
Snorlax also stands up and hugs Ash tight, Ash is out of breathing and he says, "Okay, Snorlax. I know you miss me, but I don't want to die for the second time, please."
Snorlax sighs as he goes back to sleep, and Pikachu just sighs at the Pokemon. Ash asks, "So Pikachu, you were with Snorlax this whole time?"
Pikachu is now trying to say something, but Ash and Serena can't understand what he means, and Pikachu needs to mimic a certain Pokemon. "You mean Infernape? But I didn't see him with you guys. So you guys split to find me?"
Pikachu nods but frowns as he doesn't know which way Infernape goes. Serena says, "At least we know that your Infernape is also in this area as well. Maybe we'll find him soon?"
"I think so." Ash says. "But since you two are here, that means you're back to the team."
Snorlax and Pikachu's Pokeballs are also changed, and Pikachu decides to stay on Ash's shoulder while Snorlax is returned to the Pokeball. Ash also has Pikachu meet Pichu, and Pikachu also apologizes for stealing her berry.

Once they are done, they decide to head back to the Deertrack Heights as the Professor calls them that the Heights Camp is finished.
On the way back, they are at the Nature's Pantry as they find a Paras and an Alpha Parasect. By using Rapidash's Fire moves and Staraptor's Flying moves. They manage to defeat and capture them.

Hisui Dex Entry No.54 Parasect: The Mushroom Pokemon: Bug- and Grass-type. Evolve from Paras at LV:24. Mushroom-lacking specimens of this Pokémon lie unmoving in the forest, lending credence to the hypothesis that the large mushroom is in control of Parasect's actions.
"There you are." Just then, Akari finds them on the road as she greets them, but Pikachu's sacs are sparking with electricity as he recognizes the face as the same as Dawn. "Wait, is that a Pikachu on your shoulder? It doesn't seem to like me..."
"Oh." Ash turns to Pikachu and whispers, "Pikachu...this is not Dawn, she is our friend. You shouldn't do that."
Pikachu stops and Ash turns back to Akari. "Sorry, Akari. I just got reunited with Pikachu a few minutes ago. He was foreign to this Hisui Region and he is trying to survive as well."
Akari buys into the lie and says, "I see...but why don't you put it into a Poke Ball?"
"He doesn't like it." Ash says, "As long as my Pokemon don't like Poke Balls, they are welcome to get out of it."
"I see." Akari says with a nod.
Ash says, "Pikachu, this is Akari, she is one of our friends in this Hisui Region."
Pikachu waves his paws and greets the girl, Akari chuckles and says, "He is so cute, just like my Pikachu. By the way, the Professor is looking for us. I'm sure you got the mail from Abra, right?"
"Yeah." Ash says. "The Heights Camp is finished, so we better go."
Then Ash, Serena, Pikachu, and Akari decide to go to the Heights Camp to see what the Professor is up to.
And this will be the end of the chapter right now, as for Infernape, I am sure that he will be arriving soon in the future chapters, and Ash gets reunited with both his Pikachu and Snorlax. The next chapter will be back to the main story. I hope you like this chapter.
