Chapter 30: Third Eye Blind
Once again, MC found himself within the star-speckled world of the Breach.
Taking a bearing on his surroundings, he found that there was only one source of aura from nearby. From his right. Amy Steele, he presumed. However, he was quick to identify that there was no sign of anything in his hands.
'Well, looks like it won't work. At least I can secure Amy like this.'
Nodding to himself, he gently rested his hand on Amy's unformed head, awkwardly finding that it reached up to only about his lower chest after his new growth spurt. Willing his Stand to emerge, he had it quickly wrap its strands around her. However, while MC was at it, he mentally ordered his Stand to not send its green aura into her. He definitely did not want her to develop a Stand of her own, after all.
Wrap after wrap, MC soon found that Amy was covered with wrapping. He knew that he had to do this from now on, that is if he wanted to keep her relatively safe from Wallace. He had to get better with leashing people to him.
'Leashing? Am I using his terms now?'
Ignoring his own misuse of terms, MC quickly pulled his hand away and called Day One back into him, its spare strands quickly writhing around their forms before they retreated into him. MC would have called off the Breach visit at that point if it weren't for one of those strands deflecting off an invisible surface right in front of him.
'Huh?'
Wanting to check what happened once more, MC brought out Day One yet again. Solidifying the multiple strands into a gloved hand in front of him, MC found that he could not push through all the way to his feet. No, there was an invisible obstruction in his way, one that gleamed as MC rested his Stand's hand on it.
'Could it be…?'
Concentrating once again, MC disassembled his Stand and covered the obstruction in front of him, outlining a cuboidal object within. He started to force his aura into the book, and through the cracks in the cover, MC could make out that the book was starting to fill out once again.
Quickly pulling back most of his strands to inspect the work further, MC found that the book was shining as bright as the sun. Bright enough for MC to have to shield his eyes to keep himself from getting blinded. But amidst the immense white light that was quickly eaten away by the nothingness of the world around them, MC found that it was starting to make incredibly distant branches of light.
And then, one of the stars travelled miles and miles, all so that it could be presented before MC.
MC gaped at the tiny spark of a star, twinkling in a bead of white light. As it came to arm's reach, MC was able to assume what it truly was.
'Memory. Elyssa's Memory.'
Gently, he made Day One drift the star into the book without touching it. Once the spark was sealed within the aura, MC had to shield his eyes once again as the bright light overtook the world around him. But from beyond the light, a silhouette began to form. A humanoid shape that MC hadn't recognized but tickled his déjà vu.
"It has been too long," Elyssa Libitina spoke, having reformed from the Portrait of Markov. "I'm glad that my advice eventually reached you, MC."
Reaching out for her, MC found that he was touching the spark within her as the world jumped back into a white sheen.
Once again, MC found himself in Memory.
'Wait, I'm here again? Shit! I didn't mean to touch Elyssa's spark!'
Sure enough, a silhouette started to appear in front of him.
"Here… is your path…" it said, before drifting off once again, spreading out a wave of black across the entire world around him. The black ended up sticking to certain areas like someone was filling out those particular areas for his viewing. After about a second, the wave passed, and MC felt a wave of déjà vu as he found himself in a black and white world.
'This is… just like what happened to Natsuki! I'm seeing someone's memories!'
However, instead of forming a household this time, the vision formed a classroom. Specifically, their old clubroom, outlining the black-and-white forms of some incredibly familiar girls sitting nearby.
'Oh…'
"Everyone! The new member is here!" a figure that looked a lot like Sayori yelled out as she barged in through the front door.
"I told you, don't call me a new member-"
MC blinked in surprise at the scene before him. 'This is just like my first day of the Literature Club.'
As MC watched his alternate form interact with the other girls, he was startled to find that there was one other person who walked in through the door at that very moment.
"Ah, Elyssa!" Monika announced. "I'd like you to meet our newest member, MC!"
MC was able to take a good look at Elyssa, but as always, couldn't make out her colours due to the black and white nature of the room. She was as tall as Yuri and had hair as long as hers but was as skinny and flat-chested as Natsuki was. However, more importantly, MC found that she was wearing a set of dark-tinted glasses that hid her eyes and she was tapping the floor in front of her with a cane.
'She's blind?'
"Hello, MC," she addressed to the air in front of her. "I apologize, but I will not always be able to make eye contact with you."
"A-Ah, n-nothing to w-worry ab-bout!" the alternate MC stammered out, making the real one scoff at his inability to interact with others.
"However, I would like to ask," Elyssa tapped the floor in front of her with her cane as she guided herself to MC's voice. "Are you Mark today? Or Wallace?"
Mark blinked in surprise, faltering back in a budding fear. "How… do you know about him?"
That was when Elyssa let go of her smile, to scowl at him. "I remember the last run, you bastard. Your Stand, it's clearly one of the strongest I've ever seen. It's too bad that I have one on my own."
"Y-You're a Stand User?!"
"Yes, I am," Elyssa smirked as she spoke. "My Stand is what's making me blind, after all."
Suddenly, Mark shivered and writhed in his own skin. It ended quickly, but at that moment when he turned his face up, the real MC noted that something was very different about him. His eyes were the same colour, but they held a different light compared to who he really was.
Sayori widened her eyes in surprise after the change was done, clearly seeing the difference as well. "Who… Who are you?"
"So, you see how troublesome Stands are," the stranger said nonchalantly, ignoring Sayori's question. "Although, I am still curious about how you evaded our time reversion."
"Wallace," Elyssa introduced. "MC's alternate personality. His dark side."
Wallace scoffed as he scratched his chin. "Well, I guess that's a good way to put me, considering everything I did to Markie before we got Radiohead."
Yuri widened her eyes in surprise. "A dark side? As in, an evil avatar of yourself?"
"Now, putting it like that is just cliché," Wallace retorted from within MC's body. "But I'm not here to talk about myself. Markie is clueless about shit like this, so I'm taking over. Elyssa, I dunno how, but now you know about our Stand. So, what are you gonna do about it?"
"I'm going to ask you something. Something that I should have asked you ages ago."
"Oh? Well, I feel like this is more of a concern for Markie, seeing how he's the reason why-"
"It's not about you going out with different girls in every run, I couldn't care less about that."
"Ah. That's surprising. I thought you'd be more concerned about that."
"I am, but that doesn't take precedence at the moment," Elyssa sighed as the other cub members watched them in immense confusion. "Wallace, MC. You two have the ability to rewrite time, yes?"
"More or less. It's more the ability to influence a person's or a related person's past choices. Jumping into different timestreams, so to speak."
"Very well. And are you aware of the illness of the Literature Club?"
"Illness is an odd way to put it, but yes. We do. We're afflicted with it as well, aren't we?"
"Exactly." Elyssa started to grit her teeth, finally making Wallace notice the shadow forming behind her dark glasses. "And why haven't you done anything about it?"
"Do anything?" Wallace asked back, cocking his head to the side with a smirk. "Oh, Markie~! Looks like we've got another little wrong choice."
Suddenly, Wallace's form shivered again, turning the mind back to Mark.
"Elyssa, please let me explain," Mark hastily spoke up the moment he came back to consciousness. "Look, part of me wanted to help you. I mean, I love all of you! I couldn't bear to see you get hurt like that!"
Elyssa kept her fists balled and her form rigid with rage. "And why hadn't you done anything?"
"It's… exactly because I love you all," Mark said, looking to the side in shame. "I hadn't wanted to change any of you. S-Someone told me that everything that you had gone through had shaped who you are right now. I hadn't wanted to change what made all of you… you… after all."
Mark's words brought forth a moment of silence in the club, seeing how Elyssa stood against him entirely frozen. Making use of that time, the real MC looked around at the rest of the club, noticing how afraid they all looked.
"Umm… okay, everyone!" Monika managed to speak up upon seeing Sayori's stupefied face, clearly unwilling to speak herself to break the tension. "That was certainly something, but if we can all stand down for a moment, we can start-"
She was interrupted by a sharp clattering sound.
As the entire club looked to the source, they found that Elyssa had held her hand out, her cane thrown across the room. Looking closely, however, they found that her hand was uncontrollably shaking, her face contorted to a pained grimace. Carrying on with her motion, Elyssa brought her hand back to her face and took away the sunglasses that she was wearing. Dropping the glasses onto the floor with another clatter, Elyssa's entire body started to shiver with the same rage that was budding from earlier, only magnified. So much so that everyone in the club started to subconsciously back away from her in fear.
"Markie," Wallace's voice spoke up. "We need to combine. I think we'll need the big guy for this."
"Yeah, I think so too," Mark agreed. "I may have fucked up."
"You haven't, Markie. We're the Perfect Human, remember? The Man of Two?"
Mark sighed, smiling a little. "You're right. But even then, we hadn't thought about the others would react to our actions."
"Maybe not. But as Perfection, we cannot always please everyone, can't we?"
"I guess. But we need to save Elyssa right now. Let's do it."
"You two…" Elyssa spoke up, tilting her head up to them while emitting a dark aura from her body. "You will die for your sins. Third Eye Blind!"
Elyssa opened her eyes, revealing the white orbs with bleeding red irises within.
And the world broke apart into a shade of black with white stars around, reminding the real MC of the Breach.
'Elyssa… can enter the Breach?'
Everywhere Elyssa looked, a light would shine from eyes that would destroy anything in their way, including the fabric of space-time that the real MC had gotten familiar with over his period of time-jumping. As the world around them started to dissolve into stars, the real MC had to suppress a scream as he saw the other girls of the Literature Club dissolve into nothingness.
"You two, you can just reset whenever you want, can't you?" Elyssa spoke up, her tone resonating in the void she was creating. "If it weren't for me looking at the essence of time in the last run, I would have never found out about your sins. And that is why I will be the one to punish you."
Looking ahead at Mark and Wallace, however, she gasped as she finally saw them.
The two intertwining personalities were gone. And in place of them stood one being who wore the face of Mark and Wallace but was both of them at the same time. A man who held himself in a regal air, a poise of a God. Gold waves were rolling off his form, while his Stand shimmered in golden light from behind him to create a halo around his form that added to the wonder that was the thing before them.
"I see," the unnatural being spoke up, his voice resonating within the blankness of the area around them. "Elyssa Libitina. That choice that you claim to be incorrect was made by me. Whatever judgement you wish to offer us is unfounded for that reason."
The real MC gasped as he found that Elyssa's gaze was doing nothing to this being, even though the rest of the world around him was getting destroyed.
Elyssa bared her teeth at the god in front of her. "Who are you?" she managed to find it in herself to ask, despite the world crumbling around them. "And why isn't my Stand working on you?!"
"I am the culmination of two entirely contrasting personalities in one lone body," the God before her explained. "A force of Good and a force of Evil in one. A true middle ground, capable of making entirely unbiased choices that are correct no matter what. I am the Man of Two. The Perfect Human. And my Stand can send your incoming Stand ability into unreality, therefore, you cannot hurt me."
"So, you're the one who left us to rot in our past, huh?" Elyssa said. The real MC gaped in horror as the world started to reform from behind her, the different structures and people meshing together to create monstrosities that MC could have never dreamed up. "I don't care who you may be, or how invincible you claim to be. I'm going to defeat you, no matter what. Third Eye Blind!"
Elyssa's eyes turned redder than normal and started to bleed as the monsters behind her charged at the god.
A wave of dark sludge formed from a mix of concrete, metal and human blood began to flood the form of the Perfect Human, roaring over him. The man simply looked up at the object bearing down on him and raised his hand.
"All Seeing I."
And in the blink of an eye, the Perfect Human was standing on the opposite end of the wave of flesh and metal, his hand brought down. The creature burst into a million pieces in an instant.
Elyssa grimaced upon seeing this, then yelled out a war cry for her next attack. Letting herself hover in the non-existence around her, she willed another wave of monsters to attack him.
And in another split second, he was standing over her, gently resting a hand on her shoulder as she stood stunned at his sudden appearance, despite everything she had done to stall him and keep him away.
Yelling out loud in frustration, she pooled the energy around them onto her arm and attacked the Perfect Human, only to have him reappear from behind her.
"I do not wish to harm you, seeing as how you are merely misguided. However, you have truly destroyed this timeline. A Stand as ferocious as yours, I have never witnessed before in my existence."
Slowly, the man behind her rested his hand on her shoulder once again.
"Yet, because of the will of Mark Caulfield within me, protesting against your kill, I wish to make you an offer instead. But before that, I will need to destroy these remnants you've created."
The real MC jolted as Elyssa started to shriek out loud, glitches overcoming her entire body as the golden aura around the Perfect Human started to envelop her and sap away her aura. The hold that she had over the world slowly came to a pause, the monsters she created unforming themselves before MC's very eyes.
Elyssa choked on her own breath as she started to give in to the whims of the God behind her. "I… I couldn't even dent you…"
"Please do not take this negatively, Elyssa Libitina. There is a reason why I am not eliminating you entirely."
"H-Huh?" Elyssa stammered out, slowly finding that not all her aura was being taken. "What's going on?"
"I've come to realize that with your level of power, you are akin to a fellow minor god such as me. That is why I would like to make you this offer."
"An offer?"
"I'd like you to watch over the timelines. I will no longer be around from now on, seeing the state of one of my halves after what he had to witness, along with his permanent loss of you. Even now, I feel him protesting within me, urging me to leave you alone. And from here, events will lead me to non-existence. Therefore, you must watch over Mark Caulfield and Wallace. Watch over them, and once they call you, you may make your own judgements."
"W-What… I don't understand…"
"You will soon enough. Now that you've destroyed your perception of space-time with your Stand, you are a God. So, I beseech you, in my leave, become God for these two half-souls within me. I will spare you if you accept."
"I…" Elyssa faltered once the God made his offer. "I want to know if you're going to help the others. If you're going to save them from their pasts."
"Mark Caulfield wished for that from the beginning," the Perfect Human revealed. "However, I was the one who barred him from his actions. Each of you have your own personalities and altering your past would affect you far too much. Essentially, your new personalities would fall into our hands, and we do not wish to artificially adjust you five. Hence, MC decided that he would chase after every single one of you in each run to truly understand my words, while Wallace took a backseat after promising not to interfere in his personal affairs."
"I-I'd like to know…" Elyssa continued, tears visibly streaking down her cheeks. "W-Will the Literature Club ever be safe?"
The Perfect Human closed his eyes somberly, the aura around him waning some as he did so.
"I certainly wish for it. However, once you force two true forces to meet, you will be unable to determine the outcome. I hope that you, Elyssa Libitina, will be the guiding light to saving the parts of my soul."
"I… I don't know if I can."
"You can." The Perfect Human slowly wrapped his arms around the girl in an embrace, surrounded by the darkness and the stars of whatever remained of their timeline. "I am certain of this. You will survive. However, please take my place as a new God."
Elyssa stood stunned; bleeding red eyes widened in surprise at the responsibility now placed on her shoulders. Slowly, she wrapped her arms around MC's body and cried into his shoulder. In response, MC brought the gold aura around him back, splitting his soul back into their two halves.
"Thank you, Elyssa," the real MC said. "Thank you for everything. Goodbye."
The real MC who was watching the events happen gingerly touched his lips, wondering why he said those words in time with the one embracing her then.
'I… I'm remembering,' he realized. 'The Perfect Human made me forget these details so that I wouldn't be traumatized. So that I could live my life normally. So that I could leave the responsibility of the timeline to Wallace, along with Radiohead. And somehow, once danger returned, I manifested my own Stand, Day One, like a duplicate of the original.'
Stunned silent by the memory he was made to see, he hadn't noticed himself hurtling back in time, far away from the duo before him who dissolved into the depths of Memory. Flying back, all the way to the present.
Mark Caulfield gasped out loud as he came to once more, now out of the Breach and back in Amy's living room.
"MC!" Amy yelled but didn't approach him. "Don't open your eyes!"
"What…?" MC muttered as he finally looked down.
Only to see Amy's short stature covering a pale, purely naked girl in front of them who was holding her eyes shut instead of her privates.
Yelping, MC averted his eyes and clenched them shut. "G-Give her some clothes!"
"She's not my size!" Amy yelled back as he took off her blazer and tried to cover her. "And who is this?! She literally just jumped out of the book! And where'd the book go?!"
However, Amy was quickly shut up by the girl resting her hand on her arm, the other still covering her eyes.
"You may address me as Elyssa Libitina," she spoke for the first time, her voice carrying a deep timber that let it echo in the room. "Time has been rewrought, hence there must be some of my personal clothing apparel nearby. More importantly, I require something to cover my eyes. I have awoken after an immeasurable amount of time, and I do not trust myself to keep myself blind again after watching everything for so long. I do not wish to disintegrate everything here, after all."
Amy paled at her words. "MC… what the hell did you bring here?"
"A friend," MC said as he made sure he walked far away from the duo to prevent the risk of seeing her naked state. "I'm sure that she can help us."
As it turned out, Elyssa had a room in Amy's house, fully furnished with everything that she needed. Including clothes and a pair of sunglasses that Elyssa chose to forego for that moment. Now completely covered up with fitting clothes and with a washcloth tied around her eyes, Elyssa sat across the two, sensing the questions that they had.
MC could finally see her entire figure. She was just like she once was, within his dream. White hair cascading down from her head like an avalanche, thin chapped lips, deathly pale skin, an incredibly skinny figure that made MC think that he could wrap a single arm around her, tall enough that she would reach MC's shoulder. Most importantly, however, she was blind. There even was a foldable white cane set on the table that MC knew was never there before, along with the set of shades that was probably used to accompany Elyssa's affliction.
"I-I d-d-don't u-understand…" Amy stammered out first, taking her glasses off as she cast her disturbed gaze down. "A-Aren't you a character? F-From The Portrait of Markov?"
"Was that the name of my book?" Elyssa asked with a smile, briefly tilting her head in Amy's direction. "Interesting. Named after the affiliations of the organization that had experimented on me. Not a bad choice of name."
MC stayed silent, not knowing what to say to the girl in front of him.
"MC…" Elyssa turned in his general direction, gulping in fear. "I… would like to apologize for what happened. In that old, eradicated timeline. For what you had seen."
"N-No, don't be," MC stammered out. "I'm just… still trying to take it all in."
"Hm? You sound taller. I believe I should expect that, considering how you are a Joestar in this timeline."
"Damn, you've really been watching us, huh?"
"Wait, am I missing something here?" Amy asked, turning her head to look at both people by her sides. "I thought you two didn't know each other?"
"I remember more now, Amy," MC explained. "Elyssa, all of us in the Literature Club were afflicted with an illness or trauma of some kind, weren't we?"
"Yes, we were. Natsuki faced domestic abuse. Yuri endured her self-harm. Sayori was fighting depression. Monika was facing immense societal pressure and a severe feeling of loneliness. I have memories of being a human experiment. And you, MC, had Wallace attempting to break your creations at every turn. A truly traditional model of an evil Alternate Persona, or negatively influential Dissociative Identity Disorder."
"When did this happen?" MC asked. "I don't remember that far back."
"It was an ailment that you were born with," Elyssa explained. "Inherited from a maternal progenitor, who was a Stand User himself. Despite being Japanese, your mother actually has Italian roots."
Amy paused for a moment, then gasped out loud. "Oh my god, that makes sense now! Wallace and MC have the same type of Stand because they are the same person!"
Elyssa turned to Amy and grimaced at her. If one could have looked at her eyes at that moment, they would have seen that she was sending scathing expression her way. "Wallace and MC are opposite halves of one of the best souls I've ever encountered. Do not assume that they are the same."
"A-Ah, I-I'm s-s-sorry," Amy stammered out, still feeling uneasy about hurting the person who claimed to be able to disintegrate her whole house with a simple glance.
"Nevermind," Elyssa sighed out loud. "MC, I assume you know everything you need to know now?"
"Yeah," MC nodded. "I'm only one half of the Perfect Human, aren't I? And Wallace is the other?"
"The Perfect Human?" Amy asked. "You never mentioned that before."
"Yes, you are," Elyssa spoke up, ignoring Amy's question. "The Perfect Human was never meant to be you alone, however, despite everything that Wallace had told Monika."
"Yet another thing he lied about, I guess."
"Yes, that is true."
Upon saying this, the two remained silent for a while. Amy blinked in surprise upon seeing the two.
"Okay, are we just going to be silent or…"
Elyssa exasperatedly groaned out loud. "MC, despite her deduction skill, I am glad that you didn't bring this girl into our world. If you did, I might have had to look at her."
MC harked out a laugh. "Geez, Elyssa, don't joke about stuff like that." But as soon as he said that, he looked down with a frown. "I… I think I missed you, but I don't really remember. I kinda feel it though if you know what I mean."
"I do, if only briefly. It truly is difficult to gauge emotion without memory."
"Yeah, I guess I'm feeling that now."
And then they were silent again, looking away from each other like before.
"Okay, I'm done, I'm breaking this up," Amy proclaimed. "Okay, Ms Stuck-up has come back to life. What are we going to do now?"
Despite Elyssa scowling at her comment, MC stood up and addressed her. "I honestly don't know," he said. "I don't know if I'm ready to fight Wallace again. Even then, we don't have a plan. I don't have any idea how to defeat him."
"Isn't that obvious?" Amy retorted. "Just delete him."
"As much as she irritates me, the little girl actually has a point," Elyssa pointed out as well. "Wallace lied about your ability because he feared your capability to delete him. He had a familial chain to you because he was born from you. However, you do not have the same connection to him. That makes you the perfect counter to him. So, all you need to do is to move back in time and delete him."
MC paused, trying to consider everything they said. He knew that this was true; their points were correct. By all means, he should go back and delete Wallace as soon as possible.
But despite that, the thought of having to delete him made him want to throw up.
"Do I… have to delete him?" MC asked.
Elyssa sighed in defeat while Amy jumped in front of him and gripped his shoulders.
"Okay look, I know I'm literally telling you to kill someone here," Amy said, her pigtails bobbing after her jump. "But don't you remember everything this bastard has done to you? You need to kill him, at least to avenge everyone that you've lost!"
"I-I know…" MC muttered, looking to the side in shame. "I just… I don't want to delete someone. Because, well…"
"Say it, MC," Elyssa said, walking up to him. "I need you to say it."
MC grimaced upon seeing Elyssa's expression, then hung his head low as he tried to compose himself to speak his thoughts out loud.
"I have his Stand. I'm pretty much exactly like him. And if I delete someone, I'll just be even closer to who he is. I… I don't want to become him."
Elyssa simply nodded, expecting that answer. Amy faltered back, noticing what MC was talking about. "That… That makes sense. You don't want to fall to that power, huh?"
"MC, you need to know that you don't have a choice," Elyssa insisted. "The Perfect Human is gone. We cannot find the right way anymore, so all we have is your choices. So please, ignore your sanity and do what needs to be done."
Amy looked at Elyssa in disgust. "And what then? Say he does that, and he foregoes what makes him who he is. Then what's stopping him from being another Wallace?"
"He's a force of good, he won't be able to change that easily. And stop talking, you don't know all the details yet."
Amy sighed in exasperation. "I know enough, alright? I want to be a detective when I grow up. I've seen a hundred cases like this. An actually good person, charitable and whatnot, brought down to madness just because of one wrong thing they do. Sure, you can call him a force of good, whatever that means. It won't take long for him to lose that and become corrupted like most others."
"That's a load of bullshit. The Perfect Human himself told me that he's a force of good. MC won't break that easily, not when a God's taken his back. You're severely underestimating his capabilities. I've been watching him for a long time, he's gone through much worse."
"Alright stop!" MC yelled out, making the two girls turn back to him in shock.
"Look, I don't know what to do, alright?" he said. "But… I don't think I can find out without facing him again. And I'm not ready for that. Not yet."
"MC, if you keep saying that, you will never be able to meet him," Elyssa said. "You need to do it soon."
"B-But I thought I could at least train in some way! Learn some martial arts or something like that, something to help me fight!"
"You're travelling back in time, MC," Amy spoke up. "You won't be able to keep your sense of form, no matter what. You'll even lose your trained strength. Martial arts will be absolutely useless."
"W-Well it can help somehow, can't it?!"
"It's a waste of time, MC," Elyssa said. "You need to avenge JoJo, remember? You need to do this as soon as possible."
MC faltered at the pressure that the two girls were putting on him, slowly walking away from them and pacing around the room.
"Can I… think about it for a bit?" MC brought his tensions down forcefully and asked. "I really don't know if I can face him again. So, please, let me think about this a little."
Wordlessly, the two girls looked at each other and nodded, in sync for that one fleeting moment. "Go ahead," Amy said, knocking at the balcony window behind her. "It's pretty late already. You can head out through the fire escape. No one should see you that way."
MC grimly nodded at her. "Thank you, Amy, for everything," he said.
Amy chuckled. "Don't mention it, big guy. This is the most fun I've had in my life, after all."
Smiling a little as well, MC warped away from the group and reappeared outside the window. Waving his hands in goodbye to them through the tainted glass, he started to climb down the stairs and reach the ground.
"Interesting," Elyssa commented. "I believe I was able to be present for his Rollback. I even heard the alarm ring."
"Wait, really?" Amy asked, taken aback. "I always see the guy teleport instead."
"You don't have my eyes. Of course, you can't."
"So says the blind girl."
"Shut your mouth."
"Hardy har har. Anyway, are you going to be staying here for the night?"
Elyssa jolted a little, clearly not having thought of that. "I certainly don't have much of a choice, since a bedroom is here for me. So for all it's worth, please take care of me."
Amy smirked. "Sure, and you don't need the Jap traditions. I've never had a sleepover before, after all!"
Elyssa groaned out loud. "Oh, Spirit of the Perfect Human, please guide me through this endeavour."

A/N: I'm struggling a bit with these last chapters, mainly because I'm still unsure about how I want things to turn out. I know what the outcome will be, but I'm struggling to find the right path to get there. I don't plan my stories on paper, probably a bad thing, but it's worked for me till now.
But this chapter was a rollercoaster for me. I started off by simply summoning Elyssa and having her explain everything to MC. I read through that again and I realized how boring that was. Ergo, I changed that to a show, don't tell scenario and portrayed a lot more than I originally did through the PH vs Elyssa fight.
Also, yes. This is a Deus Ex Machina. I'm familiar.
Now, for the Third Eye. I had originally planned to have the Third Eye as a non-Stand ability, but then I thought back to one of my minor references. Jana-Janken, if I'm remembering the name correctly, or even if I mentioned the name in the story (I don't think I did). A manga that Natsuki's mother mentioned, talking about a guy who can steal a person's soul after winning a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. If it wasn't obvious, this is Janken Boy's (Oyanagi/Boy II Man) book. And here, I realized that I introduced a new magic system. That meant that the Third Eye could be a Stand as in real life, and that made a lot more sense to me. Hence, Third Eye Blind was created.
And I've finally revealed the secret behind Wallace's origin, and what the Perfect Human is. I like to think I'm a bit philosophical, so I've always wondered if someone could truly be perfect if they were a harmony between Good and Evil. The only way I could do that was by forming two personalities working together in the same body, able to compound upon each other's thoughts and form the best decision possible. And sure enough, a God who can make only right decisions will have a Stand that allows them to manipulate past choices. That's the story behind Mark Caulfield and Wallace. Two opposing forces meeting to create a perfect harmony of both extremes, with the power of a God.
Review!
IzuOchaShipper99: Sorry to disappoint, but I don't have enough content for a fight that long. I will try my best to extend it, but the story will end in the next chapter or the one after that. Instead, I can promise that it's gonna be an awesome fight.
Now, I'm gonna have to brainstorm how to start the next chapter after finishing off some assignments. I'll see you next chapter!
