Hi, so I've been in quarantine for a week and inspiration struck me like a bus. I wanted to write a Marichat fic, but with a dark twist. In this story Gabriel isn't Hawk Moth (still a terrible father though), in fact there is no Hawk Moth. Therefore, Marinette isn't ladybug. Adrien however stumbles across the black cat miraculous on accident and becomes Chat Noir. As I wrote Gabriel is a terrible father, so in this story Adrien was never allowed to go to school (I'm sorry, poor Adrien. I promise I'll explain why this was necessary in a later chapter).
Warnings: violence, swearing and stuff
Please let me know what you think.
In the beginning Adrien used his new powers to jump around the rooftops of Paris, enjoying the freedom it provided from his usual boring and controlled life. He even did a few heroic deeds, whenever the opportunity presented itself, like when he overheard a mugger threatening a guy to hand over his wallet or when a traffic accident caused a car to light on fire with a woman and child trapped inside. He had stepped in and reveled in the joy that the citizens' gratitude caused him. He loved helping people, feeling like he mattered and could accomplish something other than just being the face of his father's fashion brand.
However, over time it wasn't enough. The brief moments of joy were too fleeting. He would come home and still feel empty, so that's when he started doing it… He began in the small, breaking into stores or rich people's homes (only when they weren't home) and stealing some expensive knick-knacks. Later he moved onto bigger heists, robbing banks and museums.
He didn't do it to bring people fear or sadness, his only motivation was the freedom and control he felt. He could do whatever he wanted with no one to tell him no. The police never came close to catching him, his powers were too impressive. His speed and agility made it possible for him to escape the crime scene, often before the police even spotted him. He quickly became a public menace, earning himself the name: Chat Noir. And he loved every second of it. He loved having a secret double life that his father couldn't control and having people react with genuine feelings when they saw him and not the fake facades of kindness like usual – sure the feelings Chat Noir was always greeted with was fear and screaming, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.
Chat Noir never hurt anyone though, at least not badly. He did at times knock out security guards or policemen, but only when he had to, and he always tried to avoid it. He wasn't evil, at least he didn't think so. He just needed to feel something – anything other than the usual emptiness and loneliness.
Adrien had been Chat Noir for four years now and been a criminal for a bit more than three years and he was never happier, than when he was on the prowl.
Surprisingly, Plagg, the little black cat kwami, that came with the ring miraculous and his powers, didn't mind Adrien's hobby too much. He honestly didn't seem too interested in anything really, of course, except for his…
"CAMEMBERT!" Plagg's persistent yelling for his only love was driving Adrien insane. He sat by his desk with papers and books littering its surface, trying to get some work done, while Plagg kept nagging him about how hungry he was.
"Plagg, I told you already! You'll get your cheese before we leave. Besides, you just ate an hour ago."
"Exactly, an entire HOUR ago… I can't… move from the pain…" He dramatically flopped down onto Adrien's head.
Adrien sighed, glancing at his alarm clock: 23.02. It was almost time to go anyway, Nathalie had been in a few minutes ago, asking him if he needed anything, and then bidding him goodnight. This was always a clear sign that he would not be disturbed for the rest of the night, so no one would notice that he was missing.
"Alright, Plagg. I'll finish this later." He left his Chinese papers on the desk and found a piece of camembert for the 'starving' kwami.
Plagg's face lit up, as he grabbed the cheese and ate it in one mouthful, "Ah, finally. You know, kid, since you're stealing stuff anyway, why don't you break into a cheese shop and let me empty the shelves.
Adrien sighed and shook his head, this was not the first time he heard that suggestion. "Maybe one day, Plagg."
"Aww, come on, kid. You can't mess with my feelings like that!"
Adrien chuckled, "Plagg, claws out!"
Once transformed, the young cat burglar turned off the lights in his room and jumped out his open window, already feeling the rush of having the world at his feet.
Darkness had settled a few hours ago, yet against her better judgement Marinette Dupain-Cheng was in the process of locking the front door to the bakery and heading out. Under one arm, she carried a medium box containing a cake.
Her parents were celebrating their anniversary with a romantic weekend trip, so Marinette was managing the bakery for them, actually it was just for this Saturday, since they had decided to keep it closed Sunday, so she would have time for her studies.
Just before closing, she had received a rush order for a birthday cake that the costumer wanted delivered the same night. Marinette had all but rejected the costumer, but he offered a hefty sum for the cake, and she didn't want to disappoint her parents.
Due to the late request, Marinette had to make the cake after closing, which meant it wasn't done before late in the evening. She was quite happy with how it turned out though.
This was the reason Marinette left the bakery at 23.30 and set her course for the costumer, who only lived a 10-minute walk away.
She wasn't stupid, she knew being out this late alone could be dangerous, so she kept a watchful eye on the streets in front of her and listened intently in case anyone followed her. She kept her hand in the pocket of her jacket, hoping it looked like she was carrying a weapon, in reality she had her hand wrapped around her phone, so she could use the emergency function and call the police if she felt the need. All in all, Marinette would say she was being very careful, but she still had a bad feeling about the whole thing.
When she arrived at the address, Marinette heard laughter and music from behind the door. She knocked and a man in fancy clothes opened, behind him she could see some other people sitting around a decked dining table.
The man smiled widely at her already with the money in hand.
"Oh, thank you so much, young lady. You're a lifesaver. It's my son's birthday and my wife accidentally dropped the cake…"
"…only because you pushed me!" A cheerful woman's voice called from inside, followed by more laughter. The man chuckled as well. They exchanged the money and the cake.
"Of course, I'm glad I could help." Marinette laughed, loving the festive and happy atmosphere in the house. Undoubtedly, a generous amount of alcohol was involved.
"Are you here alone?" He asked worriedly, looking around to see if she was with anyone. "It's late, you should probably call a cab or something. You can wait here if you want."
"Thanks for the offer, but I'll be fine. It's not that far."
"Ok, if you're sure. Have a great evening."
"You too."
The man closed the door. Marinette put the money into her jacket's pocket and began the trek home again.
She was still smiling, thinking about the nice family and how her cake had made them so happy, when all of a sudden, her arm was grabbed roughly from the side. Marinette screamed, as someone pulled her into a dark alleyway and slammed her against the brick wall. It was completely dark, she could only see the silhouette of a man and smell his bad alcoholic breath.
"Shut up!" She heard a hoarse voice growl, as a flat hand suddenly hit her over her cheek and just after that a big hand pressed against her mouth silencing her.
Tears pressed against her eyes, as she struggled with all her strength to get out of the man's hold, kicking and flailing her arm, hoping to hit him.
"Stop struggling, or I'll kill you." She felt something pointy against her chest. Marinette froze, letting out a terrified whimper. Her heart felt like it was about to explode, her breathing was shallow and hindered by the hand over her mouth. Why her? Why did she deserve this to happen to her?
"That's better." She trembled in his firm hold, as he leaned in closer, filling her nose with his terrible stench. She turned her head to the side and closed her eyes tightly. "Empty your pockets, bitch."
Marinette's willed her trembling hands to comply to his demand. Deep down a small hope blossomed that he was only a mugger, who'd leave her alone after getting all her valuables. She reached into her pocket and took out all the money she just got from the cake delivery. For a few moments she thought about trying to call for help with her phone, but the knife pressed against her made her rethink that idea. She handed over everything in her pockets like he wanted.
"Don't even think about making a sound, it'll be the last thing you ever do!" He warned her menacingly, before taking his hand off her mouth and grabbing her things. He shoved it into his own pocket. "Get down on the ground." He ordered removing the knife, so she could move. "Now!" He added when she didn't move immediately.
Marinette sobbed, words could not describe the level of fear she was feeling, but even so she knew that she was a fighter. This man was not going to let her go, she knew that much, she couldn't let it happen.
Pumped full of adrenalin, Marinette drew her knee up as fast and hard as she could. Unfortunately, her assaulter saw it just in time to jump back. She took this small opening and began sprinting away from the man while screaming for help, however in her panic, she accidentally ran further into the alley. It didn't matter much though, she only made it a few steps, before he caught up to her and tackled her to the ground. She fell flat on her stomach, all the air escaping her lungs making her cough and splutter.
"You little, bitch!" Her attacker pinned her to the ground by sitting himself on top of her. She cried out, but only earned herself another slap across the face. She uttered one last half strangled cry, when the tip of the knife suddenly found its way to the back of her neck. "Try that again and I'll be fucking a corpse tonight."
Marinette felt bile rise in her throat, as her heart seemed to stop in horror. The last shred of hope that this was 'just' a mugging was gone. Above her, the disgusting filth was laughing like a psychopath.
She felt faint, maybe she'd just die from fear. Perhaps that was for the better anyway. The knife left her neck, but she didn't dare to move. She didn't have the power.
She heard duct tape being unraveled and suddenly pain erupted on top of her scalp, as he grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her head up, causing her to scream again. What felt like a piece of crumbled up fabric was suddenly shoved into her mouth, causing her to gag slightly. He grabbed her jaw with the other hand and forced her mouth shut with the fabric inside before a piece of duct tape was plastered over it.
He let go of her head, so Marinette's chin hit the ground hard.
"There." He growled lowly, "much better. Now we're almost ready for the fun." He reached behind him and pawed at her thigh, as if to demonstrate what he meant. She shrieked into her gag and began struggling again, his touch reawakening her will to fight, although she knew it was useless.
He positioned himself, so he could grab her arms with both hands and still keep her pinned to the ground with his weight. Then he began taking off her jacket.
Even though she was fighting as much as she could, it only took him a few seconds to rip the jacket off her, leaving her in just a T-shirt. She heard the sound of the duct tape again and before she knew it, her hands were tightly bound behind her back.
By now Marinette's panic was all-consuming. A million thoughts swarmed her mind, yet she couldn't concentrate on a single one. She was like a cornered wild animal, all she could think of doing was kick and scream. Kick and scream. Surely someone would hear her, right?
Her attacker suddenly stood up, hauled her with him and threw her against the brick wall again. He held her pinned with the knife's edge pressed against her neck
Marinette's eyes had gotten a bit more used to the darkness in the alley. Now she could see that the monster in front of her had short unkempt, dark hair and looked to be in his thirties. She watched in horror, as his disgusting mouth opened in a lustful smirk, "How lucky can I get, finding a hot little ass like yours?"
Marinette's eyes shut tightly, as she whimpered. She felt a hand touch her stomach. She stiffened and tried to press herself further into the wall behind her. The hand moved its way up and found one of her breasts. Without warning he squeezed it so hard that her scream was not only caused by fear but also pain. He just chuckled, moving on to the next one and repeating the action.
Then he reached back down to the hem of her shirt. She was helpless. Hopelessly vulnerable. An easy prey.
He moved the knife down and began cutting the fabric, slowly undressing her upper body. Once he reached the hem at the neck, he also made sure to cut along the sleeves, so he could remove the shirt fully.
Marinette hunched over in humiliation and dread, as she stood there, topless in front of this sick man. He didn't waste much time, unhooking her bra as well, leaving her truly half-naked.
He took a second to admire his work. Eying the weeping girl like a predator would its prey, then he put away the knife and went back to fondling her breasts.
Marinette still desperately tried to wiggle out of his hold, but his hands had her in a firm grip, meaning it hurt her more, when she moved.
He pressed himself against her, sniffing the mortified girl's hair. She completely broke down screaming for what felt like the millionth time, when she felt his hard member poke at her hips through both of their pants.
Slowly, she felt his hand creep downwards. She screamed into her gag and struggled like possessed, but it was to no avail. He was too strong. This was it.
A sudden thud and a: "Good evening." startled both her and her attacker. He spun around and drew his knife again, staring intently into the darkness.
Soooo... yeah, this was a little dark, but hey I'll make up for it. No angst without fluff, that's my motto ;3
