Chapter 27 Space-Time Distortions
After getting back to the Obsidian Fieldlands, they see some strange colored lights glowing at the Horseshoe Plains. Serena asks, "I wonder what is that about..."
"I don't know." Ash says, "Maybe that's the Space-time Distortion that Akari has told us about?"
Serena says, "Let's check it out."
As they enter the glowing light, they are surprised to see a lot of Pokemon like Eevee, Onix, Ursarings, and other Pokemon are staring at Ash and Serena as they want to attack. Ash and Serena can only pick up the shards on the ground and also some valuable items such as Evolution Stones.
"There are too many of them! I don't think we can capture them!" Serena says with horror.
"What are we going to do?" Ash asks with frustration. "Maybe we should only capture rare and unusual Pokemon. How's that sound?"
"Good idea." Serena says. Just then, a tougne licks Serena's face causing her to flinch and let out a scream, Ash asks, "Serena, are you okay?"
But he flinches as he sees a Gengar who is laughing at Ash and Serena, Ash sighs and asks, "Gengar? Is that really you?"
"Your Gengar?" Serena asks while looking at both Gengar and Ash.
Before Ash can say anything, a Lickitung appears and it goes for Rollout, Gengar quickly jumps forward and uses Dark Pulse to stop the Pokemon. Ash says, "Thanks, Gengar."
Gengar nods as he gives his Poke Ball, which also becomes the ancient Poke Ball.

Hisui Dex Entry No.138 Gengar: The Shadow Pokemon: Ghost-and Poison-type. Evolve from Haunter with a Linking Cord. Possesses potential victims' shadows in an effort to steal away the victims' lives. If your shadow begins to laugh, you must take hold of a protective charm posthaste!
"And I think I found a Sneasel!" Serena says as she points at the Pokemon, but much to their shock, it immediately evolves into Weavile and starts to attack with Icy Wind.
"That's not a Sneasel...it's the evolution Weavile! Now it is night time and he must have held a Razor Claw!" Ash says as he sends out his Infernape. "Infernape! Help me out, my friend!"
Infernape nods as he battles the Weavile while Pikachu and Gengar are battling others. Serena also uses the chance to find another Sneasel.
Hisui Dex Entry No.202 Sneasel (Johtonian Form): The Sharp Claw Pokemon: Dark- and Ice-type. This Pokémon shares roots with the Sneasel of Hisui, but unlike that species, this one is spiteful in personality. I hypothesize that water and earth can affect Sneasel's mind and body.

Hisui Dex Entry No.204 Weavile: The Sharp Claw Pokemon: Dark- and Ice-type. Evolve from Johtoanian Sneasel with Razor Claw during nighttime. This species corners prey as a pack, under the guidance of a leader. Weavile displays increased cunning, leading me to speculate that its evolution caused further brain development.
"Johtonian? So is there may be a Sinnohian in the future?" Serena asks.
"I thought Weavile was found in the Sinnoh Region." Ash says as the strong winds are blowing, and the Pokemon all disappear. "Hey! Those Pokemon are gone!"
"Does that mean the distortion ends?" Serena asks. "But surely that was really crazy...But surely, we still have to find those Unown."
"You're right. Let's see, my conclusion is that in the Obsidian Fieldlands, there are 5 of them. The first one is E, which says, "A lone tree in a pond on the grove." Which I assume to be Grueling Grove."
As they get there, they find the tree and Unown E is resting up there. After capturing that one, Ash continues, "The second one is G, which says, "Atop a waterfall of obsidian." That means the Obsidian Falls."
"As they search the waterfall from far and wide, they find it hanging at the ceiling from the cave. Serena says, "Who would have found that here?"
"I have no idea." Ash sighs as he captures it. "The third one is I, "The lake island where emotion resides" is what it says."
As they get to Lake Verity, they just find the Unown behind the cave. Ash says, "There has to be a cave somewhere here, but I don't see it. That's a shame. The cave leads to Mesprit."
"Maybe we'll get to see it soon?" Serena says. "What's the next letter?"
"S. "Where stick and log dam the river" The Alpha Bibarel gathered a lot of sticks and logs over there." Ash says.
And they find S being stuck at several sticks and logs, so they save it by capturing it into a Pokeball.
"And finally, X is "Scale the Grand Tree" There is no place like that Grand tree we fought against the frenzied Kleavor." Ash says.
As they go there, they finally find X on the tree and capture it. Since the other Unown locations are not in Obsidian Fieldlands, they decide to take a break from that.
"Since we have Ursaluna, how about we try to find some hidden items in the Obsidian Fieldlands?" Serena asks.
"Good idea." Ash says as they decide to call Ursaluna to the Obsidian Fieldlands and then ride on it to search for some items. But just as they are digging, they find four Old papers.
"I wonder what are those for..." Serena says.
"Maybe we should read of them. They are labeled as 14, 15, 17, and 19..." Ash says.
"I'll read the 14th one first. The fieldlands rush by underhoof as Wyrdeer carries me astride— Companions of mine run with us and Pokemon dash alongside. We come to stand where wind had swept and old days play before my eyes… The memories come running through, linking this place to times gone by. Time and space here blend together and enfold my heart as I remember." Serena says.
"That sounds like an old verse...and it is talking about time and space..." Ash says. "Whoever wrote this must be very old."
"I agree. Maybe this is the ancient hero that Adaman or Irida was speaking about?" Serena asks.
"I don't know, I'll read this 15th one. The flow of time never stops… The past, future, and present… Space is ever-expanding dimensions… Our spirits, too, are as space…" Ash reads.
"That does tell the definition of Time and Space, though." Serena says.
"If you think of it, this verse does make a lot of sense." Ash replies.
"This is the 17th one. Upon Hisui's winds it wheeled, brought life to every growing thing. Where go you when you are not here?' asked I one day the god of spring. No answer would it give me clear, but still did I have an inkling. There is no great dark truth untold— it simply does not like the cold." Serena says.
"The God of spring?" Ash asks, "I don't think I have heard of a Pokemon like that before..."
"Me neither...at first I was thinking about Shaymin since it is from Sinnoh, but for some reason that is not the right answer." Serena says.
"And the final 19th one. When first this land was formed, man and 'mon lived happily, sharing all that they could see, by kind acts born and warmed. One Pokemon then proposed that they should always ready be to help the humans should they need, and let their presence be disclosed. And that is why, to this day, not all Pokemon do flee when a human they do see— they leap out where tall grasses sway." Ash finishes.
"That's a good one. I mean, we do live in a world where Pokemon and humans work together." Serena comments.
They also go to Lake Verity and much to their surprise, they find a Togekiss in the sky, so they decide to record the Pokemon.

Hisui Dex Entry No.129 Togekiss: The Jubilee Pokemon: Fairy- and Flying-type. Evolve from Togetic with Shiny Stone. Scant few have ever sighted this Pokémon. After studying what literature remains, I am certain Togekiss will reveal itself when peace reigns in the land.
Once they are done, they decide to go back to Professor Laventon and report the progress. What they don't know is that they get more money from Pokemon captured from the Space-time Distortions.
But just as they go back to Jubilife Village, they find Akari rushing towards them. Akari says, "There you are! You'd better hurry to the commander's office!"
"Wait, what's going on?" Ash and Serena are confused as they rush to Commander Kamado's office. They are surprised to see that Kamado is talking to Beni and Adaman, Beni notices Ash and Serena as he says, "Ash and Serena! We have a situation here!"
Adaman turns and says, "Let me explain. Lilligant, our clan's Lady of the Ridge, is in a frenzy...And Arezu knowingly kept this from me!"
"The lady of what?" Serena asks.
"Yes - there are only female Lilligant, which makes this honored one our Lady of the Ridge." Adaman says. "But this isn't the time for cultural lessons! I'd like to find out just what Arezu was thinking, but she's nowhere in Jubilife Village."
"Last I saw, she was at the Wallflower, polishing off a big ol' plate of potato mochi. Not that I blame her - my cooking is simply irresistible, after all." Beni says.
"If Arezu of the Diamond Clan was somehow involved in that situation with the raging Ursaluna of the Pearl Clan, it could lead to the two clans going at each other's throats again!" Kamado concerns.
"Tell me, Commander. If we do end up in a struggle with the Pearl Clan, what will your people do?" Adaman asks.
"We would be forced to remain neutral..." Kamado sighs.
"Meaning what?" Ash decides to ask.
"If we were to show support for one side, it would put us at odds with the other. We came here to create a home for ourselves, not to take part in tearing the land apart..."
"Right. Of course...After all the work you've put in to get us to treat one another as equals and keep us from fighting...I suppose it's no surprise you'd refuse to intervene if trouble were to break out again." Adaman nods.
"Ash and Serena, perhaps you have some idea how we might address this situation?" Kamado asks.
Ash says, "Maybe we can ask Ursaluna for help with this? We managed to calm its rage and Serena can just play the Celestica Flute."
"Ursaluna? So he and Warden Calaba found you worthy? That's perfect, then." Adaman gasps. "Ursaluna should be able to sniff out Arezu, wherever she's gone."
"If you are strong enough that Ursaluna deemed you worthy, then you should be ready to quell Lilligant's frenzy as well." Kamado says.
"I'll head to Lilligant's seat, then - Brava Arena, it's called. If you'll excuse me!" Adaman then leaves, with Beni following as well.
"Listen well, Ash and Serena. You must quell any Pokemon that could cause harm to the people of Hisui. Always remember: we came here to make a new home where we could live without war or strife."
Ash and Serena nod as they leave the office, and Serena says, "So if there's Lilligant, that must mean Petilil really is in this Hisui Region."
"And not to mention that Lilligant is one of the Diamond Clan's Nobles..." Ash says, "Who would have thought about that?"
"But we have to find Arezu first, that's for sure." Serena says as they leave Kamado's office.
I'll end the chapter right here, and as you can see, Ash and Serena encounter the first Space-time Distortion in the Obsidian Fieldlands and Ash reunites with Gengar inside it. And for the Old Verses, what does it mean is only my speculation, so it might be wrong for what I have read about.
