Chapter 31 Post Crimson Mirelands Part 3
After resting for a while, Ash and Serena are now waking up at noon as they, along with Adaman, are walking around the eastern parts of the Crimson Mirelands. When they arrive at Sludge Mound, they find a man named Maldon and he says, "Hello there. So, you're the Survey Corps child who quelled the Lord of the Woods, are you? Think you could help with setting up our new base camp? We're making one up by the bogs."
"A new base camp, huh..." Ash says.
"Our Odo could sure use someone as capable as you. He's a fresh Construction Corps recruit, still learning the ropes." Maldon says as they go to fid Odo, only to find him pinching his nose in front of 3 Stunky.
"Whoa there. I'd keep your distance, if I were you." Odo says. "Just look at those bothers! They're taking up the spot where I was going to set up a base camp. One Stunky would be a headache, but this little group is a full-blown migraine! Maybe I can get someone else from the team to handle this - someone good at battling..."
"We can help you drive them off." Serena says.
"Are you sure you're up to this, though? They stink something fierce." Odo asks.
"Just leave it to us." Adaman says. "Ash and Serena are capable battlers, and I'm the leader of the Diamond Clan."
"Well, if you insist. But you've got to beat three of them, so be ready to run...and stay downwind!"
Then Ash goes with Torterra to battle the three Stunky, with the Headlong Rush, it manages to knock out all three of them with ease.
"You weren't kidding - you've got talent! And your Pokemon were so brave, too! I can't believe you handled three Stunky all by yourselves without getting smelly! Thanks to you, we can get the base camp set up now."
As they leave the boy to set up the base camp, they decide to go to the Shrouded Ruins. On the way, they meet a lot of Rhyhorn and Ash says, "Look Serena. There are a lot of Rhyhorn."
Serena starts to pale as the Rhyhorn starts to charge at Serena. "You just have to say that!"
As Serena is now surrounded by Rhyhorn who tries to lick her, Adaman asks, "Is Serena really popular with Rhyhorn?"
"Yeah..." Ash sighs. "Well, I have to save my girlfriend."
After managing to save Serena from the horde of Rhyhorn, they have decided to do the tasks first.
Rhyhorn's Research Tasks: Number caught:1,3,6,12,25 Number of heavy specimens caught:1,2,5,7,10 Number defeated:1,3,6,12,25 Number of you've defeated with Grass-type moves:1,2,6,12,25 Times you have seen it use Stealth Rock:1,3,6,12,25 Times you've stunned it by using items:1,2,3,4,5 Number of different forms you've obtained:2 Number you've evolved:1
Hisui Dex Entry No.120 Rhyhorn: The Spikes Pokemon: Ground- and Rock-type. Ludicrously strong—when it butts heads with a mountain, it is the mountain that shatters. But its short legs struggle with turns, and it is incapable of stopping unless it collides with something.
"The ruins are up ahead." Adaman says. "You have to go past some Lickitung and an Alpha Lickilicky."
Ash says, "Sure, we can also complete that as well."
Lickitung's Research Tasks: Number caught:1,2,4,10,15 Number you've caught while they were sleeping:1 Number defeated:1,2,4,10,15 Number of you've defeated with Fighting-type moves:1,2,4,6,10 Times you have seen it use Rollout:1,3,6,12,25 Times you've given it food:1,10,20,30,50 Number you've evolved:1
Hisui Dex Entry No.125 Lickitung: The Licking Pokemon: Normal-type. Wields its long tongue deftly, as though it were an arm. The Pokémon's viscous saliva, once it has been collected and boiled down, yields a strong and highly useful adhesive.
Lickilicky's Research Tasks: Number caught:1,2,4,6,10 Number of alpha specimens caught:1,2,3Number defeated:1,2,4,6,10 Number of you've defeated with Fighting-type moves:1,2,3 Times you have seen it use Zen Headbutt:1,3,6,12,25 Times you have seen it use Giga Impact:1,3,8,20,40 Times you've seen it using a strong style move:1,3,8,20,40 Times you've stunned it by using items:1,2,3
Hisui Dex Entry No.126 Lickilicky: The Licking Pokemon: Normal-type. Evolved from Lickitung by learning Rollout. Its tongue can extend and contract freely, and it is capable of reaching lengths over 10 times Lickilicky's height. Beware of the saliva, as it contains corrosive elements.
When they get there, they find the place foggy and some Kirlia and Ralts are resting there.
"We already have Ralts, so we have to do with Kirlia." Ash says as they start to work on the research tasks.
Kirlia's Research Tasks: Number caught:1,2,4,10,15 Number of small specimens caught:1,2,5,7,10 Number you've caught without being spotted:1,2,4,6,10 Number defeated:1,2,4,10,15 Times you have seen it use Draining Kiss:1,3,6,12,25 Times you've given it food:1,2,3,4,5 Number you've evolved:1,2,3
Hisui Dex Entry No.102 Kirlia: The Emotion Pokemon: Psychic-and Fairy-type. Evolve from Ralts at LV:20. It resembles a maiden in appearance, but it wields strange powers to project visions of paradise. I suspect the crimson ornaments on its head are the key to its abilities.
"Hey Ash...isn't that looking like a giant Odd Keystone?" Serena points at the end of the ruins, and Ash says, "You're right. That reminds me, we still have to see if we can find 20 wisps in the Crimson Mirelands."
"Wisps? What are you talking about?" Adaman asks.
"A girl asked us to find 107 wisps, so far we have found 27 of them." Serena says. "Since you're traveling with us, you can hold it so you can find it with us."
"No thank you, I'm not interested in ghostly things." Adaman chuckles while shaking his head.
"It's fine." Ash says. "I think the camp must have finished setting up. With the experience from the Heights Camp, they might have done it faster."
Before getting to the Bogbound Camp, they stop by at the Diamond Settlement and they find a girl named Martia with three Psyducks with headache. Martia says, "You two are from the Galaxy Team, aren't you? Do you know of a medicine that can cure headaches? I need it for my Psyduck... I live together with these little ones, and I can tell they've been suffering terribly. I wish I could do something to help, but none of the medicines I've tried have worked at all...There are so many people in the Galaxy Team - surely you must have some sort of healer! Please...could you ask them for some medicine?"
"We can help you out." Serena says.
"If that's the case, you two go to the Bogbounds Camp first, I'll stay and look after the Psyduck as well." Adaman says as Ash and Serena leave.
After getting to the Bogbound Camp, Odo finishes setting it up and he says, "There we go. What do you think? Make things feel a little safer out here, no? And there's not a whiff of Stunky here, either. Stop by anytime!"
And at the same time, Professor Laventon and all the other staff members, along with the carriage, arrive at the camp, and Laventon says, "This makes a second base camp for us to use in the Crimson Mirelands! Perhaps some Stunky will pop by for fun and games sometime, eh? Wouldn't that be a treat!"
"Maybe." Ash sighs. "But we have to get back to Jubilife Village now."
Laventon nods as they go back to Jubilife Village, once they are there, Ash and Serena go to the Medicinal Corps in the Galaxy Hall. They find an elderly named Tomma and she says, "Hm? You're after medicine that can cure Psyduck's headaches? Well, you came to the right person. Take this - it's a Secret Medicine that only those from my hometown know how to make."
After taking a dose of secret medicine, Tomma adds, "As you'll see, it works wonders! Give it to any ailing Pokemon, and they'll soon be right as rain. Even a Psyduck's headache will clear up, I'm sure."
Once they get the medicine, they go back to the Diamond Settlement and find Adaman and Martia. Adaman asks, "So you guys find a cure?"
"We do, here's the Secret Potion." Ash says as he feeds them with the medicine. After a while, the three Psyduck are now feeling better.
"Wow, the Psyduck look all better already! What a relief! Thanks for finding this medicine for us. You know, I was a little nervous about the Galaxy Team before...But if you're the sort of folks that are kind enough to help total strangers, I guess I had no reason to worry! And what did you call that stuff again...? Secret Medicine? Gosh, the Galaxy Team must be very talented! Maybe I'll visit you all in the Jubilife sometime."
Then they are given a Max Revive, which they put away into their pockets. "So now that's done, we can try to complete more information." Ash says.
"Yeah." Serena says.
After arriving at the Droning Meadows, they see a shaking tree and they find a Vespiquen coming out from it, Ash says, "I was just thinking when we're going to find this Pokemon."
"Vespiquen must be very hard to find." Serena adds.
Vespiquen's Research Tasks: Number caught:1,2,4,10,15 Number of heavy specimens caught:1,2,3,5,7 Number defeated:1,2,4,10,15 Number of you've defeated with Fire-type moves:1,2,4,6,10 Times you have seen it use Air Slash:1,3,6,12,25 Times you have seen it use Bug Buzz:1,3,8,20,40 Times you've seen it use an agile style move:1,2,4,10,15 Number you've seen leap out of trees:1,2,3,4,5

They also find an Alpha Yanmega and they struggle hard to capture it.

Hisui Dex Entry No.106 Yanmega: The Ogre Darner Pokemon: Bug-and Flying-type. Evolve from Yanma by learning Ancient Power. Extremely violent. When hunting, it wastes none of its energy, aiming only for prey's most vulnerable spots. Any who manage to tame this Pokémon must be of incredible bravery.
They also find a pond where Turtwig are residing, so Ash captures one of them and evolve it into a Grotle so that they can do both of the entries.
Turtwig's Research Tasks: Number caught:1,2,4,6,10 Number you've caught without being spotted:1,2,3,4,5 Times you have seen it use Leafage:1,3,6,12,25 Times you've given it food:1,2,3,4,5 Number you've evolved:1

After that, they've decided to head north to Ursa's Ring to see if they find a Teddiursa and the evolution line.
There are a lot more to do in the Crimson Mirelands, and I hope you like this chapter and the new Pokemon they get for the Pokedex.
