Chapter 35 Truth Reveals
The next day, Ash and Serena are now meeting up with Adaman as they hear a voice, "Mornin' sleepyheads!"
The three of them turn around and see Arezu with an old lady. Adaman asks, "Arezu? What are you doing here?"
"You'll never guess what! Adaman! I'm gonna start working at the hairdresser's shop! Now you'll be able to try out my own original hairstyles! Isn't that super exciting?"
"But what about your duty as Lilligant's Warden?" Serena asks.
"Oh, I'm still gonna be Lilligant's warden and all. I'll be burnin' the candle at both ends, but I can make it work - don't you worry!" Arezu says.
"If you're fine then I won't mind you doing this, Arezu." Adaman says to his subordinate warden.
"Anyway, come on over to the hairdresser's when you can, Ash, Serena, and even Adaman." Arezu says. "I'll give you a killer hairstyle."
"No thank you." Adaman says, "I think I'll pass that."
"I am pleased that you have found a worthy successor for your establishment, Edith." Just then, Kamado appears in front of them, and Arezu is surprised. "M-Mr. Kamado, sir...Err...so about that whole Ursaluna situation..."
"If you are to work here in Jubilife Village, you are family to us, no matter who you are or where you're from. Welcome, Arezu." Kamado says.
"And you two, Ash and Serena. You will come with me to Prelude Beach!" Kamado suddenly says the last three words with a roar, causing Ash and Serena to flinch. Adaman says, "Don't worry, you do what you must, I'll wait for you two here."
Ash and Serena nod as they follow Kamado to the beach, only to see a lot of people entering the beach by boats and ships. "These people have just arrived here in Hisui. They will live together with us in Jubilife Village. When we of the Galaxy Team first arrived in this land, we came ashore on Prelude Beach. It is where everything began. This is where a new life for all of you will begin as well."
The man named Bosley says, "We've heard that the Hisui region is inhabited by many powerful and frightening Pokemon..."
"But we've also heard the Galaxy Team knows a great deal about Pokemon and uses their mysterious powers to help Jubilife Village grow." Another man named Kochika says.
"Indeed, you have both heard correctly!" Kamado says. "And the reason such tales have reached your ears is largely thanks to both Ash and Serena here, two of our Survey Corps recruits. Through the combined efforts of all our team members, let us continue to develop our village and thrive here in the Hisui region."
"We look forward to doing our part, Commander." Bosley says as the other members nod.
After showing them the way to the Jubilife Village, Kamado turns to Ash and Serena. "The advancement of our understanding of Pokemon-thanks to the Survey Corps - has expanded the areas where we can operate safely. That is what allows us to welcome newcomers like them. Ash and Serena...You truly do love Pokemon, don't you?"
"We do, we love them with all our heart." Ash says.
"Hrrrm...Pokemon have done grave injury to many of our fellows in the Galaxy Team...And yet you still find love for these creatures in your heart. I suppose that is a necessary quality for one in the Survey Corps. Remember this, though: Pokemon are terrifying creatures. It is imperative that we study them and learn all we can about them, whether we wish to live alongside them...or not. And be warned...As the leader of the Galaxy Team, I am prepared to make harsh decisions in order to protect Jubilife Village."
"Commander? Irida from the Pearl Clan's arrived." Just then, Akari arrives and she tells him the news.
"Good. I believe I know what she's here about." Kamado says. "As for you, Ash and Serena. You should see for yourself how Jubilife Village is changing thanks to the Survey Corps' efforts. Then you will come to my office."
"We will." Ash and Serena nod as they see the commander leave, then they decide to find Adaman, who is waiting for them while chatting with Arezu.
At the same time, Brock has called Dawn, Cilan, Bonnie, Lana, and Sophocles as they arrive at the Aether Foundation. From what they've heard from Brock, Delia and Lillie are the ones that asked them to come because they want to know the whole truth.
After arriving, they are now at Lusamine's office as Delia starts to ask, "According to Brock, you guys aren't thinking the same as those people who killed my son and his girlfriend."
"We will never want to harm both Ash and Serena!" Bonnie says with tears in her eyes, "But we were scared..."
"You were scared, that's why you never stood up to Ash and Serena as we do." Lillie says. "We were scared as well, but did we let that back us down? No! Because we know for sure that if we are doing something right, we shouldn't give up until it is over!"
"You're right...because of us, Ash and Serena are dead..." Dawn says.
"It is not actually all of your guys' fault." Delia says. "But Ash has already left a bad impression of you guys before he was killed. that guilt continues to haunt you guys, is that right?"
Goh decides to raise his hand and Delia asks, "Yes, Goh?"
"I'm not sure about this, but something tells me that Ash and Serena are not dead." Goh says.
"What are you talking about? We all saw their lifeless bodies on the news, we saw the funeral." Cilan says. "It won't be too scientific if Ash and Serena are still alive."
Lillie looks at Delia, who nods. Lillie takes a breath and says, "Then let me ask you a question. What will you do if Ash is still alive? Are you going to kill them again?"
"Of course not!" Sophocles says. "They are our friends, and we are not going to make the same mistake!"
"Indeed. We are going to apologize to them no matter what." Dawn adds.
Lillie finally gives a small smile and says, "Well, Goh. You're correct. Ash and Serena are still alive, with the help of Arceus."
This causes everyone to widen their eyes in disbelief, and then cheers start to erupt as everyone is happy to know the fact that he's alive. Brock says, "I know that after saving all those Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, they won't let him be killed that easily..."
"So where exactly are they? Can we meet them?" Bonnie asks.
"I don't think you can see them yet." Delia says, much to their confusion. Chloe asks, "Why not? Why can't we see them?"
Lillie says, "Let's say that Arceus revives them because of a mission, and if they didn't do it, we might be wiped out from existence."
"What do you mean by that?" Goh asks.
Gladion says, "Ash and Serena are now at the Sinnoh Region...which is 2000 years from now."
"Wait, what? 2000 years in the past?" Sophocles asks. "Is that even possible?"
"If Arceus is involved, then so might be Dialga." Dawn says. "Brock and I know for sure that Dialga has powers to bring people to the past."
Brock says, "Indeed. So right now they are in the past for a mission, until the mission is over, they won't be back?"
Lillie says, "Arceus has told us everything, and he made some space-time distortions in the Aether Foundation so that it is now linked to the past and the future. We can't be seen in the past unlike Ash and Serena, or else history will change and it might wipe us out from existence."
"I know how it feels to almost get wiped out from existence..." Brock says with shivers.
"And we also have some communication ways with Ash and Serena. But right now, Professor Oak is in another room using it." Lillie says.
"You mean Professor Oak is also here?" Bonnie asks.
"He is here to help Ash and Serena with the information of the ancient Pokemon, and also study them." Delia says. "And I won't be so sure you can just meet them right now, since they still believe you are siding with those murderers. So what we can do now is to go to the International Police to prove your innocence."
The others nod as they follow Delia and leave, Lusamine turns to Lillie and asks, "So are you going to forgive them?"
"I will do it only after Ash and Serena forgive them." Lillie says as she also follows the group to the International Police.
Now in Kamado's office, Ash, Serena, and Adaman walk into Kamado's office, and Irida asks, "What are you doing here? Adaman?"
"What? I'm traveling with Ash and Serena right now." Adaman says, causing her to be shocked. "You? Travel with them?"
"Now it is not the time to start a fight." Kamado says as he turns to Ash and Serena. "I commend you on your successful research of the Pokemon living in the Crimson Mirelands. Your next orders are to begin the survey of the Cobalt Coastlands. I will let you know in advance - there are no Pokemon nobles in the Cobalt Coastlands."
"What do you mean by that?" Ash asks.
"Allow me to explain." Irida says. "We did have a lord in the coastlands...until a few years ago. A tragedy took him from us."
"Now, we've had reports of people seeing strange, shadowy figures on the island the lord used to call his home. We have also received word from both the Security Corps and Supply Corps. It seems some of their members were attacked by a ghost while out gathering materials around Firespit Island." Kamado says.
"These are serious concerns - and moreover, my clan just can't tolerate this desecration of our late lord's seat! Normally, I'd entrust this to our warden in the coastlands, but her situation is...complicated." Irida says.
"I trust my intentions are clear by now. I hereby order you to investigate these reports." Kamado says.
Ash and Serena nod, and Irida frowns, "I know this must be a bewildering situation to be dropped into. I'm sorry, Ash and Serena."
"I won't be so sure about that. From what I've learned from Ash and Serena, they are talented and hard-working. I'm sure they will sort things out." Adaman says. "After all, he quelled the Lord of the Woods, you should've seen their strengths and their kindnesses firsthand."
"Sometimes I don't know why, you are getting on my nerves." Irida mutters. "Why are you even traveling with them in the first place?"
Adaman says, "I already told you my reasons, right? I don't want to waste my time to tell you again."
"Adaman, we're going to Captain Cyllene's office to tell her about the news, you're coming?" Ash asks.
"Sure." Adaman replies back.
As the three of them leave, Irida doesn't know why, but she starts to wonder what it feels like to travel with Ash and Serena. She can't help but feel jealous about Adaman, she also wants to know about Ash and Serena more. Maybe she can just ask to travel with them, she knows they will agree, but then Adaman will also be there as well. Can she tolerate sharing Adaman with the space of traveling with Ash and Serena? She sighs as she also walks downstairs to find them.
