Chapter 62 Post Alabaster Icelands Part 1
After getting back to the Snowfields Camp, they meet Professor Laventon and he says, "Hm? You managed to quell Lord Avalugg? Fantastic stuff! As always, I'm sure the commander is eagerly awaiting your report. To the village!"
After getting back to the Village, they find Commander Kamado and he says, "Each of the Pokemon nobles became frenzied...and now each of them has been quelled. We still have no explanation for why this calamity befell us, but I'm glad to see it put to an end. And to think peace would be restored to Hisui by the hand of our mysterious rift-borne helper...When tomorrow dawns, it will dawn on a world restored to normalcy. At long last, we will be able to return to our normal lives. Go nourish yourself at the Wallflower, and allow yourself a good, long rest."
Ash and Serena nod, and Kamado adds, "Don't forget - the Survey Corps' work is not over. It does not end until our people can live here in Hisui without fearing the Pokemon around us."
After leaving, they are now at the Wallfower with Akari and Laventon. Laventon takes a bite of the potato mochi and says, "Thanks for this nice, sizeable helping of potato mochi, Beni, old chum! Oh, and if there's anything else that you'd recommend, by all means, bring it out!"
After Beni leaves, Akari turns to Ash and Serena, "Having the nobles all quelled puts a grave threat to rest. Now it's time we focused on our survey work...though we still can't let our guard down around regular wild Pokemon, of course!"
"I certainly had my reservations as to whether Avalugg needed quelling...But if it means bringing calm to everyone, then I suppose we did the right thing." Laventon says.
"Yes, someone might have been under attack by some frenzied noble this very moment if Ash and Serena hadn't come falling out of the sky to us." Akari says. "I still wonder, though - just what is the space-time rift, anyway? And what will make it finally go -? Wait! If the rift were to vanish, would that leave Ash and Serena stranded here?"
Ash and Serena look at each other as they are not sure about that. Laventon says, "Well, our little team is certainly very practiced at investigating things by now! We'll look into the matter and find a solution - I've no doubt. And even if we don't, you'll always have a home here in Jubilife Village, Ash and Serena. Now then, tomorrow's soon upon us, and it'll be another hard day at work for the Survey Corps! Don't forget what we've got our sights on: nothing less than a completed Pokedex!"
"That's right. We'll get it down, with Ash and Serena in the lead and me as the valiant assistant." Akari says.
"Assistant...? Come now, Akari - don't sell yourself short! You're a full-fledged member of the Survey Corps, too!" Laventon says.
"Well, thanks for that, Professor! Then I guess I'd better eat my fill and get plenty of energy for another long day tomorrow." Akari smiles.
The next day, it is also a normal day, Ash and Serena are going to continue working on the side requests. First, they go to the clothes store and find Anthe. "The color of your clothing can make all the difference in the world, don't you think?"
"Of course." Serena says.
"Absolutely! I bet you would like to dress up in your favorite color. I want to make clothing in new colors, but I can't get ahold of the right materials. If you happen to have Red Shards, Blue Shards, and Green Shards, would you kindly give me one of each?"
"They are found in the Space-time Distortions, and we used up for the Comet Shards..." Serena mutters.
"But we haven't encountered one in the Alabaster Icelands, so let's try to find one." Ash says.
Back in the Alabaster Icelands, they manage to wait for a Space-time Distortion and go inside, not only do they find some shards that they want, but they also find Oshawott and some Pokemon they haven't found.

"And I was hoping to find a Glaceon..." Ash mutters after the distortion ends. "Well, we still get an Eevee and we can evolve it at the Icy Rocks."
"Yeah." Serena nods.
After returning to the clothes store, Anthe looks at the shards and says, "Such beautiful shards...I'm sure these will work perfectly. Now then, let me try and dye something. I can make anything into a beautiful dye if I cook it down in the trusty cauldron inside my shop!"
They decide to check it out as they see how the dye works, and after printing the dye on the clothes, she says, "A color more beautiful than I even imagined...And all thanks to you, dear customer. I hope you enjoy the different looks that new colors bring to your outfits!"
They see a lot of clothes that are Azalea, Chartreuse, Scarlet, and Teal colors, and they are very happy at their work. But just as they head out of the store, they find that Tao Hua is yelling at Choy, "Never! Never, you whelp!"
Then he walks away with a grump, and Choy turns to the four, "Oh - dear customer. I'm sorry you had to see that. I asked Tao Hua to supply me with some new goods, but he simply won't do business with me. I truly hate to keep imposing like this, but would you please try to make him see reason? You'd do well to bring him a token of goodwill...perhaps some Sand Radishes? Three ought to do."
"The fourth time..." Irida says. "Just what did that guy steal from the head of the Supply Corps?"
"I don't know." Adaman replies.
After getting the Sand Radishes from the Craftworks, they find Tao Hua and he says, "Ah, the Survey Corps recruits who quelled the Lord of the Hollow. I'm sorry to keep getting roped into errands on my account. To tell you the truth, I'd be happy to just get my corps' products out to the shop for free. But that'd mean letting Choy off the hook, and the very idea of that sets my teeth gnashing! Are you bound for the Alabaster Icelands soon? Would you bring me back three Sand Radishes?"
"We already have them." Ash says as he hands over the radishes.
"Well done gathering them back in a harsh climate. Ah, Sand Radishes! The Alabaster Icelands' finest feature! If you give these bitter roots a nice, thorough pickling, it brings out a unique sweetness! Once they're pickled, they make for a lovely crisp, and quite well-liked snack! My granddaughter makes a fine pickle, I tell you what. Perhaps I'll ask her to give one of these a nice briny soak. Anyway, I'm sorry to have kept on using you as a go-between with Choy. I suppose it's time I had a proper conversation with the whelp."
After heading outside to the store, Tao Hua says, "Now listen - I'll set you up with some new goods, but as a favor to Ash and Serena - not you! Don't think for one second this means I've accepted you!"
"But Tao Hua, sir - " Choy mutters, but he is interrupted by a girl named Yui. "Oh, please, grandpa! I can't believe this is still an issue for you!"
"Yui! How long have you been - ?!" Tao Hua gasps.
"What - is our little store not worthy to sell your goods? Talk about letting personal feelings get in the way of your business! If you keep this up, grandpa, I swear I'll never speak to you again!" Yui demands.
"Guuh! But why, sweet Yui?! You swore you'd never get married and leave your poor gramps!" Tao Hua pleads, but Yui just ignores him.
"Who in their right mind takes a tiny child's words so seriously...?" Yui mutters, she turns to Ash and Serena. "I'm so sorry my grandpa has been such a bother to you, Ash and Serena. I hope this doesn't put you off visiting our shop."
Ash says, "So the thing that Choy stole from Tao Hua...was his granddaughter all along because of the marriage?"
Serena says, "Now that I think about it...it is kind of stupid..."
"Well, in any case, we've got excellent new items on our shelves. Do buy some!" Choy says as he adds Full Restores, Ultra Balls, Max Revives, Sticky Globs and Salt Cakes into the store.
And the next request is from Pesselle of the Medicinal Corps, and she says, "Hello again. Would you do me a quick little flavor?"
"Sure, what is it?" Serena asks.
"Don't worry, it's really simple. Could you bring me a hundred Medicinal Leeks?" Just then, the air silences for a while until Irida asks, "What? A hundred?"
"These leeks are well-known for growing practically all over the region. They're also called wayfarer's friends. Knowing you, I bet you could gather a hundred of them in your sleep! Once you have a hundred Medicinal Leeks you can spare for me, please do bring them on by!"
They decide to buy them from the Ginkgo Guild, and luckily, they sell one for 120 dollars. Serena says, "If only we knew this request soon, we wouldn't be wasting them on making Full Restores..."
"I know." Ash adds.
After giving her the leeks, she says, "Ah, what fine leeks! This will be enough to make plenty of medicine. I'm always running out, what with our constant stream of injured colleagues...This way, the Medical Corps can prepare a nice stock for the folks who can't craft their own medicines like you can."
Then she gives them an Adamant Mint and the Modest Mint as rewards, and they decide to head back outside of the Galaxy Hall.
Here is the first chapter of the requests, as you can see, there are a couple more side requests left before I decide to go back to the main story. And if you're asking why I didn't put Ash's old Oshawott in this story, let's say he often comes out of the Poke Ball on its own, and it is annoying to write, just like how I don't like writing Team Rocket's motto every time. I hope you like this chapter.
