Also, I went back and fixed some plot inconsistencies—the Gokai Galleon Buster wasn't supposed to be used until post-Episode 31, but I had no idea until I checked RangerWiki and had this realization thing. I also added another flashback sequence to Chapter 8.
~Part 3:Shock Tactics~
The Zangyack armada met the Neo Baranoia Armada just outside the Sol system, the Gokai Galleon leading the charge so the plan could work smoothly. Both sides had already done quite the damage to each other, although things looked lost on the Zangyack side of things, completely overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of their enemy but the Gokaigers were having fun.
"Hasta la vista, baby!" said Gai as the Galleon's cannons took down a Neo Baranoia battleship.
"Warz, can you clear a path for us so we can get into that weird space castle thingy?" asked Marvelous.
The prince nodded. "Sure thing." he replied, and used the Gigant Horse's weapons system to divert the Neo Baranoia forces' attention from the Galleon, giving her time to shift to GokaiOh, although the cockpit was now a bit more crowded than usual. But Marvelous didn't care. He just steered the giant mech to mow down a lot more enemy ships, and then he used the Gokai Star Burst to blow a hole into the Neo Baranoia Flagship's hull so they could breach in.
"Don-chan, you have the Glutton Virus secured, right?" said Insarn, in a flirtatious tone.
"I do." Doc snapped as he revealed the USB that contained the Glutton Virus, the tip shaped like an arrow. "Now stop calling me that!"
"Well, well, well, it seems like Miss Techie 'ere has got some feelings fer Doc-chan, eh? Just such as yerself an' me, Marvey-chan..." Basco crooned, his hand brushing Marvelous's cheek fondly.
"Hey, hands off!" Marvelous said, then added "Besides, Doc's gay. It's different."
"Well, then, there's nothin' I can do fer ya." Basco told Insarn, before turning back to Marvelous and giving him a big fat kiss on the cheek.
"Alright, let me name this bizarre combination of friends and foes." said Gai. "Marvelous-san, you and Basco are the Star-Crossed Loathers. Don-san and Insarn are the Green Brainiacs, and Joe-san and Barizorg are the Best Fiends. Ahim-san, Luka-san and Jeanne-san are the Mean Girls, and finally, me and Laila-san are the Earth Heroes."
"That's great!" said Laila.
"Best Fiends? Really?" Joe said.
"Green..." Insarn began.
"That kinda fits." Doc finished.
"Awesome!" Luka exclaimed.
"I love it!" Ahim added.
"I'm just happy that I got to be with the pwettiest piwates!" Jeanne squealed.
Marvelous only nodded, ignoring his designated partner's lustful gaze on him.
Suddenly, the ship's alarm began sounding. Aaaaa-OOOOO-ga! Aaaaa-OOOOO-ga!
"Uh-oh." said Laila. "We're discovered!"
"Let's split up!" said Marvelous, and the group scattered, each of them in pairs—Joe with Barizorg, Doc with Insarn, Gai with Laila, Marvelous with Basco, leaving Luka, Ahim and Jeanne.
Meanwhile, at the UAOH base...
"I can't believe we got stuck babysitting that bastard's monkey." said Momo as she went to fetch Sally more bananas.
"Any news from the captain?" asked Yuji.
"I don't know." said Juri. "All of a sudden, he went to the old Baranoia palace to get some footage, although I'm not sure what footage he could possibly be talking about."
Just then, Shohei got a call from Goro. "Good news, Ohrangers. I have the footage I was looking for, I'll be back as soon as possible."
"Captain..." the former OhGreen breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness..."
Soon, Goro returned beneath a bright red umbrella, and shared the footage he retrieved with everyone. After a classic 3-2-1 countdown, the moment where Empress Dowager Hysteria entrusted her grandson to the Ohrangers and killed herself appeared on screen.
"I can't believe they actually have footage of this moment." Juri breathed.
"So that's how it happened..." muttered a male voice. Everyone turned to see their Chief Counselor, Naoyuki Miura. "Everyone, we have to deliver this footage to the Gokaigers. Buldont II must see the truth."
"But how?" Yuji inquired. "Without our powers, we have no idea how to reach them."
Naoyuki only smiled. "It's barely an inconvenience." He led everyone to the UAOH's plane hangar, where a spare shuttle was waiting for them.
"Chief..." muttered Goro.
"It only has enough space for five people, including the pilot." said Naoyuki. "Go, Ohrangers. I believe in you."
Goro nodded. "I'm not sure we can get through all that warfare, but we'll do our best." He and his nakamas boarded the shuttle as Naoyuki and Sally waved them goodbye, and then the shuttle was launched into deep space. Since UAOH was essentially an air force(hence the A), naturally, all the members were quite skilled pilots, and they arrived at the edge of the Sol System in no time, where they spotted the Zangyack and Neo Baranoia forces fighting.
"Captain!" said Juri.
"OK!" said Goro, and set the shuttle's destination to what looked like a gigantic flying palace. The small shuttle dodged, darted, zipped and dipped through the relentless volley of phasers and fighters from both sides—some of the Zangyack officers mistook it for their version of a UFO and tried to shoot it down. In the end, it ended up getting caught smack on one wing by a phaser from a fighter jet—but in the end, it successfully crashed through the hull of the Neo Baranoia Flagship.
"What do we do now?" asked Yuji.
"We disguise ourselves." said Momo, then they all spotted five Baro Soldiers passing by and jumped on them.
Ahim and Luka were firing at all directions with their respective UAOH-issued weapons. Jeanne also proved to be quite helpful—her laser cannons-slash-combat claws that all Sgormin had were super effective on the Baro Soldiers.
"This is amaziiiiiiiiing!" Luka screamed in delight.
Seeing her girlfriend so happy, Ahim felt joy too. "This is great, Luka-san!"
"I wuv you both!" Jeanne cried.
"Alright, time to wrap this up!" said the two girlfriends, and pulled out their original weapons.
"Fiiiiiiinal Waaaaaaave!"
"Gokai Blast & Slash!"
The remaining Baro Soldiers were taken down quickly. "Alright, time to move to the next post!" said Ahim, then led Luka and Jeanne someplace else.
Meanwhile, the other pairs were on their own ways, leaving trails of destruction in their wakes—the Star-Crossed Loathers moreso. As the name stated, they were each taking the opportunities to bicker whenever they had one. Basco watched Marvelous shred a Baro Soldier into scrap metal with the UAOH-issued whip-sword and exclaimed "Such beauty, Marvey-chan, I can't wait fer ya to use it on me."
"Perv." Marvelous spat, bringing the reassembled blade to Basco's neck. "If you want it so bad, how about now?"
"Careful, Marvey-chan, yer on thin ice 'ere. Who knows what could 'appen if ya kill me?" With that, he pushed the blade away with two fingers, all that emotion still visible even behind the monster face he currently wore.
"I hate you." snarled the captain.
"I wish we had mo' time. Since it be rainin' outside, I would 'ave loved to see the stars come back on yer face." the kaijin cooed, pulling Marvelous close, only to be shoved away. (For the ones who haven't checked back on Chapter 8, rain makes Marvelous's skin glow freckles and Basco loves them unconditionally.)
"Get off me. This is only professional." said Marvelous, and the two continued on.
Meanwhile, Laila and Gai got to face General Corginfernal, while Joe and Barizorg met General Twerpoodle—both siblings-in-arms of the late General Nem. Being the only female, Twerpoodle didn't excel in the weapons used by the male members, but none were her equal when it came to wielding a dagger, and she was even better at two. The Baro Soldiers she commanded were stronger than normal Baro Soldiers as well.
Joe brandished his UAOH-issued rapiers. "Let's do this!"
"Alright." sad Barizorg, and they began fighting the soldiers.
At some point, Joe saw Twerpoodle flying at Barizorg's throat with her dagger. "Look out!" he cried, and blocked the blow with one of his rapiers.
"I could have handled her just fine." said Barizorg.
Joe swallowed. A part of him hoped that a part of his friend would still be alive within the metal husk, but he did not dare say it. Instead, he said "Barizorg, let's finish this together, whaddaya say? Your boss wants us to."
"Anything my boss wants, I am happy to oblige." Barizorg said, and used Sid's technique to take down the Baro Soldiers before joining Joe again to face Twerpoodle. While Joe blocked her daggers with his rapiers, Barizorg dealt a deep gash in her back, causing sparks to fly.
"Yes!" said the Lwian as the cyborg rejoined him. "Let's take a page out of Gai's book..." He said the finishing blow's name for both of them.
"BlueZorg Triple Swordream!"
The BlueZorg Triple Swordream pierced right through Twerpoodle's heart, killing her instantly.
Meanwhile, Gai and Laila were fighting Corginfernal. His weapon was a spiked morning-star, and the Earth Heroes had a hard time dodging it. "Silver Impact!" Gai shouted as he swung his UAOH-issued scythe, creating a razor crescent that almost struck Corginfernal if he didn't use his morning star to block it.
Laila flung several of her discs at the Machine General, but they all got deflected. "Oh, shoot." she said. Then Corginfernal charged his morning star up with purple energy, before swinging it at the Earth Heroes.
"Laila-san, if this continues on like this, we're dead meat!" Gai cried.
"Not so fast!" Laila exclaimed, full of determination. "If there's one thing my dads never taught me, it's how to give up. Gai, you have the Go-On Wings key, right?"
The silver pirate seemed to brighten up at that statement. "You mean..."
"Yup." said Laila. "Use the Rocket Daggers' power to freeze the morning star!"
"Sir, yes, sir!" said Gai, then Gokai Changed into the half-gold and half-silver Go-On Wings Warrior before pressing Mission 2 on his Rocket Dagger. Chilling mist came out of the blade, freezing Corginfernal and his morning star in place.
"Final Corner! Blackstar Grand Prix!" Laila said, hitting the frozed Machine General with all her arsenal like before.
"Yes!" Gai exclaimed in joy. "We did it, Laila-san! And you looked like a true Harbinger Of Justice right there!"
"Really? Thank you!" Laila said, then the two ran off to find Barizorg and Joe, who were waiting at a larger corridor.
"Joe-san! Barizorg!" said Gai, as he saw the blue pirate and his designated partner, and proceeded to talk about how awesome Laila was during their fight with Corginfernal.
Suddenly, another Machine General and his army of Baro Soldiers appeared in front of the four. "Nice try, pirates and Zangyack scum, but this is your end!" said the general. "I am General Mastiffrigid of the Neo Baranoia Empire. You might have taken down my siblings-in-arms, but you'll never win against me!"
"We'll see about that." Laila declared, and activated her energy blades as well as her sword arms. "No matter what happens, we'll guard against you. We'll do whatever it takes if it ensures Doc and Insarn's safe entry into the AI chamber!" She thought of Doc and Insarn, who were probably, and actually, fighting to find Akita.
Mastiffrigid snapped his fingers, and the Baro Soldiers rushed forward. The four brandished their weapons, and began fighting the mechanical grunts. And Laila did it while talking to Joe.
"Ahim told me that you're afraid of love. Why?" she asked.
"None of your beeswax!" Joe retaliated. "What I can tell you is that love is fleeting, only a work of hormones."
"Well, I beg to differ!" declared Laila. "It's more like a collection of small things. Like a medley of songs. It's putting someone else's needs before your wants. It's sharing hot tea on a cold morning. It's laughing at a ripped dress. Love is a patched skirt you could never dream of throwing away. It's not a new, shiny satin gown. In the words of my Uncle Sosuke, love is like oxygen. Love is a many-splendored thing. Love lifts us up where we belong. All you need is love!"
"You're being ridiculous." said Joe.
"All you need is love!" said Laila.
