In this chapter, Laila will reunite with her Power Rangers counterpart.
An Unspecified Amount Of Time Ago
"Robot Japs! Robot Japs!" taunted the bullies, as they surrounded a crying Laila. All she wanted was to play, but could she when she was the talk of the town? True, when she came to America, she had anticipated that people would ridicule her because of her unusual appearance, since people outside Japan knew nothing of Engines. But nevertheless, it still hurt. She could end their miserable lives by slitting their throats with her wheel-discs, or shooting them down with her arm guns, but Super Sentai Warriors weren't supposed to abuse their power.
"Hey!" said a voice. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
"But, but..." said the lead bully, suddenly sounding scared.
"You degenerates!" the voice said. "Picking on an innocent, helpless kid like that...you really are shameless."
The group of bullies began murmuring frantically among themselves. "What should we do?" one said. "She's famous over here. Her parents are the RPM Ranger Operators Black and Yellow, Dillon and Summer Landsdown!"
"So what?" said another. "To us, she's just another girl!"
"But who knows what Corinth will do to us if word gets out..." said a third bully.
A warm hand grabbed Laila's wrist. "C'mon, let's get outta here."
"O...OK!" said the young half-Engine as the other girl hauled her off to a safe place. Once they arrived, Laila asked "Thanks for saving me. I'm Laila Ishihara from Japan, who are you?"
"Calixia Landsdown." said the other girl. "I'm from a place called Corinth. You should come visit sometime, it's awesome."
"That is, if my Aunt and Uncle would allow me..." muttered Laila. "Speaking of awesome places, you should really visit Machine World! It's like a second home to me. It's full of cool talking car-people called Engines, and they all love me!"
"I'd love to, but I've gotta ask permission from my Mom and Dad first." Calixia said.
"Anyways, why are you so kind to me? I'm weird..." Laila asked.
"Oh, that's barely an inconvenience." Calixia replied. "My parents had to fight against a sentient computer virus called Venjix their whole lives, and my Aunt Tenaya's basically the same as you, blame that Venjix virus. Dr. K, a family friend, was a supergenius from her childhood. Most people would find it weird, but to me, it's normal. Lately, word's been out that Venjix might be back, but that's just a rumor, and I hope it stays a rumor."
Just then, a huge explosion happened near them. "Looks like the Power Rangers are at it again..." Calixia said.
"Power Rangers?" asked Laila.
"You don't know them?" Calixia exclaimed. "The Power Rangers are sets of colorful heroes that protect the world from disasters. My parents are also Power Rangers, the RPM Rangers Black and Yellow."
"Oh, so they're the Super Sentai Warriors of America!" Laila cried. "My Dad's a Super Sentai Warrior, Go-On Black of the Engine Sentai Go-Ongers! Although I can't meet him in person right now, I just know that I have his Soul Of Justice."
"C'mon, we've gotta get signatures!" said Calixia, revealing a pen and a notebook. She and Laila hurried off to where the explosions were happening. They both saw two very familiar figures take down a gang of armed thugs. "Oh, I know them!" Calixia exclaimed, seeing the figures.
"You do? Really?" asked Laila.
"Yes, they're family." said Calixia, then called out "Uncle Gem! Aunt Gemma!"
But when the two presumed Power Rangers took off their 'mets, they turned out to be two very different people.
"Hmm?" said Calixia, then suddenly got furious. "Hey! Who the heck are you?! What did you do to Uncle Gem and Aunt Gemma?!"
Quickly, Laila planted herself between Calixia and the two heroes. "Calixia, stop! They're my family. Uncle Hiroto and Aunt Miu, the Go-On Wings! They're the Super Sentai Warriors I told you about."
"But why are they wearing Uncle Gem and Aunt Gemma's suits?" asked Calixia.
Laila sighed. "I don't know. Maybe your Power Ranger family isn't so different from my Super Sentai family..."
LATER...
After looking at each other's family photos, the two girls finally understood. "So this is you?" asked Calixia as she looked at Laila's first family photo, pointing at a glowing transparent ball with a very human-like embryo inside, held by a man wearing a suit similar to that of RPM Ranger Black.
"Yup! All baby Engines are born from some sort of eggs, and naturally, it happened to me too, since I'm half-Engine." Laila explained. She then pointed at a baby held by a woman wearing a suit similar to that of Go-On Yellow, and asked "And this is you, right?"
"Yup, that's me." said Calixia. "Who's this cute googly-eyed guy over here?"
"Oh, he's BOMPER. He's from Machine World, just like the Engines! Who are these ladies?" Laila said, pointing at two women in Calixia's first family photo—one wearing a lab coat and the other a dark battle suit.
"They're Dr. K and Aunt Tenaya. Tenaya is Dad's sister, and she's the wife of my Uncle Ziggy." said Calixia, pointing at the man in the Green suit.
Laila smiled. "I'm happy that your Green Ranger found love! My Green Ranger, Uncle Hant, wasn't so lucky. Every woman he came across turned him down, and the one woman who he always went after died."
"I feel like we're gonna be great friends!" Calixia cried.
"Me too!" Laila giggled.
Now
Laila waited at an airport—Calixia Landsdown was visiting Japan today. A voice calling out her name caused her to turn over and standing there was a woman with armored skin not unlike Laila's own. "Calixia?" she asked.
"Yup!" said the other woman.
"But...No way!" Laila said, looking at her friend's armored skin. "It can't be...How?"
"Oh, I had an accident when I turned 19, and my body was damaged beyond repair. Thankfully, Dr. K revived me using the same technology used to make all the RPM Zords, my dad's Wolf Cruiser in particular." Calixia smiled, then one of her arms shifted into a gun, similar in shape and structure to Laila's own arm guns. It lingered for a moment before shifting back.
"C'mon, I can't wait to show you all the wonders Japan has to offer!" said Laila as she grabbed her friend's wrist. They both activated their wheel-discs and zoomed off.
Meanwhile, aboard the Gigant Horse, Warz Gill was fuming. "Why? Just why?!" he cried, kicking a console. He just received news that he had to marry Miang, third princess of the planet Mim—his father and the Mimian King had arranged it for him a few years before he was sent to Earth, and at that point of time, he paid it no mind and simply brushed it off as something trivial but now that he had a planet-sized crush on Barizorg and felt no desire to be with anyone else but him, things were different.
"Your Highness, please calm down." Damaras said.
"Shut your wormhole!" Warz snapped. "Why does this have to happen? Why me?"
"You know why, Your Highness." said Insarn. "In order to strengthen our bonds with the Mim Kingdom, you should marry the princess. Action Commander Kurion has been dispatched to retrieve her."
"But..." Warz sighed, frustrated.
"In other news, Ishihara informed me that and GokaiBlue have grown quite close. Now all that's left for her is to finally dispose of him when he's let his guard down." Insarn told him.
"Oh, that's it!" exclaimed Warz, then walked to his personal quarters, leaving Damaras and Insarn wondering.
Back on Earth, Laila was treating Calixia to a bowl of katsudon when she noticed her wrist beeping. "Will you excuse me? I've got an important call from my...um...sponsor."
"Alright, go ahead." said the female cyborg.
So Laila went to the restrooms, locked herself in one of the stalls and received the message from Warz. "Your Highness, what is it again?"
"You're now acting with the pirates, right? I have a commission for you. I have been betrothed to Princess Miang of the planet Mim, and I don't want to marry her. Action Commander Kurion is on a mission to deliver the princess to me, and you must intercept and kill him." Warz said, then gave her the name and coordinates of the planet Kurion's emissary ship will be making a stop at before continuing on to the Zangyack capital planet.
"You really are petty." Laila chuckled. "Don't worry, Your Highness, I'll fix the problem for you." Before Warz could say anything, she ended the transmission.
When Laila came out, Calixia had already finished her katsudon. "What do you want to do next?" asked the half-Engine.
"Um, I don't know. Maybe, meet your new friends?" Calixia said.
"That I surely can! C'mon, follow me." said Laila, and Calixia got up to follow her. They paid for the katsudon, exited the place, and began looking around for the Gokai Galleon. Sure, she was in a not-too-far place and the crew itself was out for snacks.
"You again?" Joe asked.
"I was only passing by chance!" said Laila, then introduced Calixia. "Hey, everyone, meet my friend Calixia Landsdown. She's from America. Calixia, this is Joe Gibken, my...um...sweetheart, and those are the guys!"
"Nice to meet you, Calixia-san!" said Gai. "We're the guys!"
"Anyhoo, everyone, this is urgent." said Ahim. "I read today's papers and saw the news that my old friend, Princess Miang of Mim, is being forced into a marriage with Warz Gill. We should hurry up and save her!"
"How are you certain that she's being forced?" Doc asked. "Who knows if she wanted this?"
"Oh, hell no. I know Miang, and she prefers noble and valiant men over idiots like Warz Gill. Besides, Mim wanted to join the Anti-Zangyack Resistance for a while, but it wasn't as advanced as Famille, and had to submit to the empire's will to avoid destruction." said Ahim.
That was the moment the righteous spark returned in Laila's eyes. "Alright! We'll find the princess and rescue her!" she declared, while thinking What a coincidence! This lines up perfectly with the commission Warz gave me! She then turned to Calixia and said "Whaddaya say?"
"If it gives me an opportunity to fight alongside Japan's Super Sentai Warriors, then I will!" Calixia replied. And so the Gokai Galleon made her second journey off planet, to find a princess in distress.
"Now how are we supposed to find her?" asked Marvelous as the ship took off.
Suddenly, Ahim perked up. "Oh, we can contact Jeanne-san!"
Everyone sans Luka turned to her. "Hmm?"
"Even after our partnership with the Zangyack ended, Jeanne left me this so Ahim and I could keep in touch with her." said Luka, holding up a circular device. "Apparently she was too attached to us "pwetty piwates" to simply let us go." She then pressed the top of the device, and a holographic image of Jeanne popped up.
Laila breathed a sigh of relief, since any chance of getting her cover blown was now gone.
"Hewwo!" cried the pink Sgormin.
"Hello to you too!" said Ahim, as she came up next to Luka. "How's it going?"
"Oh, nothing. The big hats incwuded me in a dewegation to fetch the pwince's fiancee, and we'we stopping at the pwanet Methana fow wesuppwy. Cawe to send u the coowdinates?" asked Jeanne.
"Yes, please." Ahim said.
Meanwhile, on the planet Methana, a beautiful pink-haired woman and a handsome black-haired man who was actually a Nasrian Kaijin in human form were looking at flowering trees. "Miang-sama, we must go." said the kaijin.
"But Kurion-sama, I..." said the pink-haired woman, Princess Miang, then buried her face in his chest.
The kaijin, Action Commander Kurion, said nothing as he silently put an arm around her. Miang-sama... he thought. Ever since he was sent to Mim to retrieve the young princess, he had felt a sort of friendship for her that soon turned into love.
~FLASHBACK~
Kurion disembarked from the ship given to him from Emperor Ackdos Gill himself and stepped onto the golden Mimian grass, several Gormin and Sgormin trailing not too far behind him. The Mimian Royal Family were waiting at the promised point to meet him. "Your Majesties, Princess Miang, I am Action Commander Kurion of Nasria, emissary of the Zangyack Empire." he said as he bowed.
The Mimian King and Queen bowed in return. "It is a pleasure and a great honor that our precious third daughter is being married off to the Zangyack Crown Prince." Then the Queen gestured for Miang to step forward, and the princess complied.
Behind the royal couple, Kurion spotted Miang's siblings—three princes and two princesses. He could also feel the envious gazes of Miang's sisters, they were obviously jealous—the first princess was betrothed to the king of a neighboring planet and the second princess to Mim's finest knight, while Miang was getting married to the Crown Prince of the great Zangyack Empire. He paid them no mind, and simply extended a hand towards Miang.
The princess took it shyly, but not before giving farewell hugs to her parents and saying goodbye to her family, and Kurion led her towards the emissary ship, which was to embark on a long journey towards the Zangyack Empire's capital.
As the journey began, Kurion watched Miang with great interest—the princess seemed to have accepted her role as a "peace offering" to the Empire. So he asked her, "My lady, do you love the prince?"
"I've only seen him through screens so I don't know that much about him, but most people think of him as a spoiled brat who doesn't deserve his excellent beauty. There's no way in hell I'd ever love someone like that. What about you, Action Commander? Would you dare to put up with a boss like that?"
Kurion sighed. "Forgive me, Princess Miang, but I would never betray him. I, as well as the Chief Of Staff Damaras-sama, are awaiting the day he'll finally listen."
"What utter fools, you and the Chief Of Staff both." Miang chuckled. "Utterly loyal fools."
"Yes, but that's what I am." Kurion agreed.
Through the days, they formed a deep friendship, discussing many things from their respective home planets, and sometimes, the kaijin would be pulled into one of the princess's tea parties she had whenever she needed a moment to relax. When they weren't doing that, they'd play games together. As they continued to spend time around each other, feelings of love grew between them.
One day, when Kurion visited Miang's quarters, she told him "I...I believe we should be together."
"What? Us?" gasped the kaijin. "No, we can't! You are the Crown Prince's bride-to-be, and stealing you away would be treason."
The princess was relentless. "Who cares? I don't want to be married to that loser! You, on the other hand, are loyal, noble, and handsome. I admit that I wasn't completely fond of you at first. But after the past few days, I have grown to love you. I envy you. I worship you. I even became obsessed with you! Please, make me yours. But you'll have to be extremely careful with me. I am still a virgin."
Kurion gulped, then blushed. "That "loser" you talk about is my lord and master, and I would never dream of betraying him but, in fact, ah...I...uh...I have been thinking as well. About...uh...well...Ummmm...ah...hmmmm...uh...well...about you.. me...us...together. I strongly felt that you and I should be more than just mere companions."
"Well, then, what are you waiting for?" asked Miang, and then pushed him towards the bed while putting her lips on his. They were soft, and tasted of color and fruit. The two kissed each other tenderly as they caressed one another among their comforting embrace, the passion of the kiss breaking all barriers between them. It did not matter anymore that she was a princess betrothed to someone else, and he was a loyal Action Commander tasked with delivering her to her fiance. They were man and woman, bound by love and lust. Hands wandered over bare skin as they slowly undressed each other, and the discarded clothes were flung at the floor in a haste.
Before Kurion knew it, both he and Miang were completely naked and he was settled between her spread legs, grinding his erection against her wet, dripping slit. "Take me. Now." the princess commanded, gently stroking her lover's sturdy chest then guiding him into her body.
"Wait—Miang-sama!" He tried to stop moving his hips before it was too late, but it was futile. The soft sounds coming from the Mimian Princess only agitated him further. And so, they made passionate love for several hours until exhaustion took them both. It was the day Action Commander Kurion committed an act of treason against not only Warz Gill, but both the Mim Kingdom and the Zangyack Empire.
~END FLASHBACK~
Forgive me, Miang-sama, but as you said, I am a fiercely loyal fool. thought Kurion as he guided her towards the ship, but then, a voice stopped him dead in his tracks.
"Hey!"
The Action Commander turned his head to see the wanted pirates, as well as two women covered in black armor. The obsidian-haired, fierce-eyed woman was the one who yelled out to him—he recognized her as the privateer Laila Ishihara.
Not giving Kurion time to register the situation, Laila continued to speak. "Taking an innocent princess from her home and partaking in marrying her off to a man that's not even her type...unforgivable! I'll kill you for that!"
"Miang-sama, wait here. I'll take care of those pirates and get back to you." said Kurion as he left Miang under a pink-leaved tree and turning into his true form, a black knight-like being.
A battalion of Gormin rushed forward, intent on aiding their commander. "Leave them to us!" said Marvelous. "Ahim, go save your friend!"
"Yes, sir!" said Ahim, and made a beeline for Miang only to get blocked by more Gormin. "Zoo-Wee Mama!" she exclaimed.
"GokaiPink!" cried Calixia, then zipped towards Ahim's direction using her leg wheel-discs before shaping one of her arms with a gun and shooting down all the Gormin. "You OK?"
"Thank you, Calixia-san!" Ahim said, then rushed towards Miang. "Hurry, we have to go!"
"Huh?" asked the Mimian Princess, a bit taken aback.
"It's me, Ahim!" said GokaiPink before taking off her helmet.
Seeing her friend's face, Miang was a bit relieved. "Oh, Ahim-sama!"
"Miang-sama, don't worry, we can take you home." said Ahim.
Miang seemed to brighten up at the mention of home, but soon, her expression darkened. "I'm...sorry, I can't."
"What?" asked Ahim.
"I'll explain when this is all over." said Miang.
"Alright!" Ahim replied, and put her helmet back on before heading back into combat. Joe threw her his gun, and she threw him her sword in return. In another corner, Luka gave Doc her gun and took his sword, and then everyone got back to fighting the Gormin.
"What wonderful warriors!" Kurion exclaimed, then took out his sword and began attacking the Gokaigers. He struck Joe, then Luka, then Ahim, then Doc, and landed multiple blows on Marvelous, before putting his blade to the defeated captain's neck. "However...farewell."
Suddenly, a laser bullet hit him smack in the back. "Not so fast!" said Calixia.
"As long as the Soul Of Justice is within us, we'll never lose!" said Laila. "Let's do this together, Cal, whaddaya say?"
"I'd love to!" replied Calixia.
~cue Bang! Bang! Go-Onger~
The two girls activated their arm wheel-discs, then flung several of them at Kurion, who deflected them with his sword but they whizzed back to their respective girls and folded themselves neatly back into their slots. Then Laila and Calixia activated their energy blades as well as their sword arms, before attacking Kurion with them. With not four, but eight blades attacking him, Kurion found it impossible to guard against their assault with only one sword.
"Time to wrap this up!" said Laila, as both her and Calixia's sword arms retracted, and soon, they were replaced by two large laser cannons that came out of their backs.
"Blackstar Railgun!" said Laila.
"Zord Ranger Galactic Strike!" said Calixia.
The two cannons fired, and hit the weakened Kurion. "Final Corner!" exclaimed both girls, then unlocked all of their arsenal.
"Blackstar RPM Double Grand Prix!"
A rush of discs and bullets and lasers and missiles hit the kaijin, before not two, but four razor-sharp blades from the girls' sword arms slashed through him. Gravely wounded, Kurion fell down to the ground, bleeding.
Suddenly, Miang, who was with Ahim, rushed towards the defeated Action Commander, crying out "Kurion-sama!"
"What?!" everyone cried, as they went after her.
"Kurion-sama, please, don't go!" she cried.
"Miang-sama..." said Kurion as he reverted to his human form, coughing up violet blood. "Forgive me. I would never even dream of betraying Prince Warz Gill, but my love for you is too great, so thus, the only choice left for me was go out in battle. Even if the pirates killed me, it would have been acceptable. But at least, I got to die in your...arms..." With that, he passed away.
"No, no! Please! Please! Please don't leave me! I love you!" Miang cried, fat tears pouring out of her eyes.
Miang ended up being taken home, after lots of consolations from Ahim. After the Gokai Galleon returned to Earth, Laila took Calixia out to buy her some crepes with ice cream and told her "I have a confession to make." as they sat down.
"What is it?" asked the female cyborg, taking a bite out of her crepe.
"You remember those Zangyack guys we fought, right?" said the half-Engine. "The truth is, I'm a privateer, working for them. Killing that Action Commander? It was a commission from that idiot prince of theirs. It's OK if you don't forgive me, I've already tarnished my Dad's name to hell and back." She then hung her head, clearly expecting her friend to be repulsed and attack her.
But oddly enough, nothing happened.
"It's fine." said Calixia, placing a hand on Laila's head. "I'm no better when it comes to tarnishing my parents' names. Oh, and I won't tell anyone—that I promise."
