~Part 2:No Free Rides~

"So you're the rats that caused a fuss in my town..." muttered the Gaiark Sheriff, Chirakashizky. "The name's Chirakashizky, and I'm the Gaiark's sheriff. And I'm here to challenge you to a duel!"

"A duel?" asked Sosuke, as the others came running out.

"If you win, then the Gaiark will leave this world in peace." said the sheriff. "But if you lose..." He then began laughing maniacally.

"Huh?" asked Luka.

"You and all the townspeople will be executed at dawn!" said Chirakashizky.

"That's some pretty messed-up terms, sheriff." said Ahim.

"I could just kill the townspeople now, if that makes things a lot easier..." said Chirakashizky.

"You punk!" Speedor yelled, then lunged at the sheriff from his place atop BOMPER's head but then got shot down.

"Speedor!" cried Sosuke.

"You again? You oughtta learn your lesson, kid." the Gaiark officer told the miniature Engine. "After all, what can you possibly do?"

"Drrr-drrr! Now that my partner's here with me, I'm not afraid of you!" said Speedor.

"That's right. Now that we're together, we can really fight!" said Sosuke.

Marvelous stood up. "No, I'll handle this." He then turned to Chirakashizky and said "You've got some flippin' nerve!"

"So you're the pirates I've been hearing about..." the sheriff said. "First things first, let's take this outside!"

LATER...

Under the full moon, on a prairie where tumblewood was rolling about, Marvelous and Chirakashizky began their duel. "Bom-bom..." went an anxious BOMPER.

"You begin when this coin hits the ground." said Sosuke, holding up the coin he always carried around.

"Agreed." said Chirakashizky, and so, Sosuke dropped his coin but then the sheriff used a dirty trick. Just before the coin could hit the ground, he shot. Everyone gasped, but then something incredible happened.

Marvelous shot Chirakashizky's bullet out of the air, and knocked it off its course.

"No way!" exclaimed the sheriff. "You shot my bullet down?! Bamboozle!" He then shot more bullets at the captain.

Sosuke grinned, and Marvelous, unfazed, shot down all the bullets. "Is that all you got?" he asked.

"That's awesome!" said Gai.

"It's barely an inconvenience." said Marvelous. "I used to shoot stars out of the sky."

"Ugatz!" ordered Chirakashizky, and lots of Ugatz sprang out from their hiding places, pointing their weapons at the pirates. But then Luka, Ahim, Doc and Gai shot them all down.

"Take care of them, Marvelous, Laila." said Sosuke as he placed his hands on Marvelous and Laila's shoulders.

"Don't worry, uncle." Laila said, grinning.

"The actions of villains like yourself are, as always, predictable." said Ahim.

"Dammit!" Chirakashizky cursed. "Forget the duel, we're going all-out! Hang 'em high!"

At the order, the Ugatz obeyed. The pirates changed, and began tearing through them as if it was the easiest thing ever except Doc, who shot at the robots from behind a cactus.

~cue Bang! Bang! Go-Onger~

"Need some help, greenie?" asked Laila, as she took down several Ugatz with her wheel-discs.

"I'm in the silver spotlight!" said Gai, swinging his GokaiSpear at the Ugatz.

Marvelous took on Chirakashizky, and fired at him, causing him to tumble backwards. "I won't lose that easy!" said the sheriff, and shot a lot of missiles from his body.

"Is that all you got?" asked Laila, and countered them with her own missiles, giving the pirates time to bring out their Deka Ranger Keys.

"Gokai Change!"

"De~karanger!"

"Curse you all!" said Chirakashizky, only to be hit by blasts from Marvelous's D-Magnums. "So fast..." he groaned.

"You're just slow on the draw!" said Marvelous, and the pirates-as-cops began attacking the sheriff all at once. Gai kicked Chirakashizky Marvelous's way, and the captain shot the Gaiark officer, who was then slashed by Luka and Ahim and Joe and Doc.

"You're not fit to wear that badge, "sheriff"!" said Laila as she unlocked all of her arsenal for the finishing blow. "It's judgement time, and we're rounding the final corner! Blackstar Grand Prix!"

And Chirakashizky got the Blackstar Grand Prix smack in the front, as the pirates became themselves again. "Everyone, let's finish him off for real!" said Gai as he switched to Gold Mode.

"Fiiiiinal Waaaaave!"

"Go~kai Legendream!"

After Gai finished, Marvelous said "It's our turn!" and brought out the Gokai Galleon Buster. The pirates all set their keys in.

"Reeeed Chaaaaaaaaaarge!"

"Riiiiiiising Striiiiiiiiiiiiike!"

But even after taking the Blackstar Grand Prix, the Gokai Legendream and the Red Charge, Chirakashizky was still alive. "I'm the Gaiark's sheriff! You won't get rid of me that easily!" he said, then used his remaining power to enlarge himself. "Industrial Revolution!"

"So the Gaiark are capable of growing like that, too..." said Ahim.

"Oh, shoot." said Marvelous, and called the Gokai Galleon while Gai called his GoZyu Drill, and they transformed to form GokaiOh and GoZyu Rex.

"Ganbare!" said Laila, waving black pom-poms from the ground below as Chirakashizky began firing at the two mechas, but GokaiOh deflected the bullets with her swords and GoZyu Rex opened its mouth to send an energy blast the sheriff's way.

"Let's try out the Go-Ongers' Greater Power!" said Luka, holding up her Go-On Yellow key. The pirates set their Go-On Ranger Keys in their slots, and...nothing. "Huh?" asked Ahim.

"That's strange." said Doc. "They did give us their power, right?"

"Ha! You let your guard down!" said Chirakashizky as he fired a bazooka at the two mechas. "That's gonna cost you your life, y'know."

"You OK?" asked Gai.

"I'm fine." said Joe.

"Okay, then, let's finish him off with these!" said Marvelous, signaling his crew to use the Greater Power of the Hurricanegers. Soon, Fuuraimaru arrived and combined with GokaiOh to form Hurricane GokaiOh while GoZyu Rex transformed to form GoZyuJin as well.

"Gokai Infinite Shuriken!"

Immediately, Hurricane GokaiOh's slots spewed out a buncha shurikens, which hit Chirakashizky and dealt a lot of damage. "This is too messy, even for me!" said the sheriff, and prepared to retaliate only to find out that he was out of bullets.

"Ha! You let your guard down!" said Gai as he attacked the sheriff, using GoZyuJin's drill which doubled as a trident, stunning him, creating an opening. "Alright, now to wrap this up! GoZyu Triple Drill Dream!"

Meanwhile, the other five decided to use the Gokai Thunderstorm Attack. "There's more where I came from!" said Fuuraimaru. "My ultimate attack, Storming Blossoms! Onward!" With that, Fuuraimaru made copies of himself and they all attacked the sheriff with shurikens.

"I...I love the name Gaiark so much!" said Chirakashizky as he exploded into scrap metal.

"Yes!" exclaimed Sosuke and Laila.

LATER...

Everybody was so wrapped up in a second celebration that nobody noticed the hole in the sky closing. In fact, the Gokaigers were too busy asking Sosuke a question. "When we tried to use the Go-Ongers' Greater Power, nothing happened. Why is that? Did you really give it to us?" asked Luka.

"What's the matter, miss? You don't trust us or something?" said Sosuke. "Here's how it works. In order to utilize the Go-Ongers' Greater Power, you need to..."

"Look!" cried BOMPER. "The world wall is closing back up!"

"Greetings, Gokaigers and Agent Esumi!" said a robot that resembled a set of cogs. "My name is Babatcheed, the second Pollution President of the Gaiark, de aru!"

"Babatcheed?" asked Sosuke.

"Drrr-drrr!" said Speedor. "I knew it! They found a new boss!"

"I have completed the setup of my Border Control, in order to seal off Human World completely, de aru." said Babatcheed.

"Whaddaya mean by that?!" Laila said, surprised.

"To put it simple, you will never be able to return to Human World, de aru!" Babatcheed clarified.

"Holy bagumba!" Gai exclaimed.

"No way!" Doc added.

"Our attack on Gunman World was merely a setup to leave Human World defenseless, de aru." the Pollution President continued on. "Now I have all the time I need to conquer Human World and complete the invasion my most esteemed father began, and all you can do is twiddle your thumbs and watch, de aru!"

Meanwhile, in Machine World, a deep red Engine was recklessly racing the endless highways. "Bari-bari! I'm revved and ready!" he said.

An Unspecified Amount Of Time Ago

With a small ding, a transparent glowing golden sphere popped out of the kid-making machine. It was unmistakably an Engine egg, but the embryo inside looked like that of a human. "Congratulations! It's a girl, bom-bom!" said BOMPER.

"Ganga-gaan! Looks like your hair did wonders, partner!" said a black Engine named Gunpherd that resembled a German Shepherd and a cop car.

His human partner and mate, Gunpei Ishihara AKA Go-On Black, picked up the egg and stared at it lovingly. "Now for the name! he said.

"Boeee! I've already thought of one." said Jum-bowhale, a dark blue Engine who resembled a blue whale and a jumbo jet. "Blackstar. I am certain she will grow up to be the team's little star."

"Instructor, I'm sure that's a great name, but she needs a human name too. Y'know, one that's considered normal in Human World." said Hiroto Sutou, Go-On Gold.

"Hmm, how about...Saki?" Gunpei suggested.

That made Saki Royama, Go-On Yellow, giggle. "Oh, you're gonna name her after me?" she asked.

"Yeah, you're one of my best friends! Who else would I name her after if not you?" Gunpei exclaimed.

"I appreciate it, but there's one small problem. She's going to be living with us for a while, so it could be confusing." said Renn Kousaka, Go-On Blue.

Everyone nodded at that statement. It was surely a problem, until Hant Jou, Go-On Green, spoke up. "How about Laila?" he asked.

"That's a pretty name!" said Miu Sutou, Go-On Silver and Hiroto's sister.

"Agreed!" said Sosuke Esumi, Go-On Red.

"V-V! I hope she gets along well with our Machalcon." Bear RV said, as she and Speedor had forged their own child three days ago.

"Don't worry, drrr-drrr! I'm sure they will be great friends. Y'know, we Engines aren't particularly discriminatory of anything, as long as they have justice in their souls!" Speedor exclaimed. "That's how we persuaded Carrigator and our ancestors to fight with us, right?"

"Right, baru-baru!" replied Birca, a green Engine that resembled an orca and Hant's partner.

"Gata-gata! After hearing that speech from Birca, I learned the importance of partnership and also found out that the Go-Ongers practically had justice running through their veins." said Carrigator, the orange Giant Engine that resembled an alligator and a car carrier. "Being born of two righteous souls, I wonder how much good little Laila will do when she's a full-fledged hero. She'll probably grow up to be the most dynamic Harbinger Of Justice ever!"

Gunpei only said "Of course she will!" He then quietly added "I believe in you, little miracle.", holding the egg to his face.

Kishamoth the mammoth began trumpeting, next to T-Line the T-Rex and K-Line the Triceratops who roared in agreement. It seemed like even the Ancient Engines had full anticipation for what the embryo would grow up to be.

Just then, something clicked in Miu's head. "Ani, I don't know if this would work but..."

Hiroto made a face. "What? Miu, don't tell me you're going to...You're not gonna do that, right?"

"What? I thought my dear big brother would be happy at the idea of a niece or nephew..." Miu sighed.

"Geeen! She's right. Just because it worked once, it doesn't mean it would work twice." said Jetras, a silver Winged Engine that resembled a tiger and a fighter jet, and Miu's partner-slash-mate. Everybody else just laughed, while Sosuke allowed himself a glance Speedor and Bear RV's way. Sure, he was happy for them, but he still regretted not confessing to Speedor when he had the chance.

If things had been different, would he have a child like Laila right now?

Yeah, I saw on the official RangerWiki that Babatcheed is, in fact, Batcheed's son.
