.

After breakfast Saturday morning I took a little walk around the courtyard by the Great Hall. It wasn't long before the match between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw would take place. Slytherin had already won against Ravenclaw of which Draco was very proud. They narrowly won but I didn't mention that to him. Since I found no place to sit I just stood with Daphne and Hermione, each standing on opposite sides of me. I spent a lot of time with them and had somehow managed to get them to talk to each other. They were definitely not friends but it was a start.

I saw Draco and Pansy standing some feet away from us. Crabbe and Goyle stood behind them, both their arms filled with deserts from Breakfast. I waved at them and they waved back. Crabbe and Goyle dropped some of their sweets making their faces fall a little. I giggled not feeling bad since I knew they each had a secret pile of them under their beds. Pansy gave me an angry look before standing directly in front of Draco, blocking my view of him. She started talking so he'd have to look at her

"I still don't get why she's like that" I mumbled to myself looking over at her clear attempt to separate us

"Really?" Hermione and Daphne asked at the same time. Both were now standing in front of me with one or both hands on their hip. They were actually very similar people, except Hermione was a lot more studious and, admittedly, smarter. I opened my mouth about to ask them what they meant when Fred and George came up from behind me.

"Hello" the twins said at the same time, one on either side of me.

"Hey" I replied with a smile. Fred put his elbow on my shoulder as George leaned in to me. They were both taller than me so I imagined this was so that they could look at my face. Hermione and Daphne shared a look

"Ready for the game?" George asked with a boyish grin on his face

"Yeah, you'll do great" I smiled back. I saw Hermione smile at me as if she knew something I didn't

"Of course" Fred said no doubt in his mind that they would win. It was true they were incredible Beaters but Ravenclaw wasn't an easy win

"Looks like we got some green eyed monsters over there" Daphne told me gesturing to Draco and Pansy. We all turn around to see both of them were looking over angrily.

"Draco has gray eyes" I frowned at her, confused since I knew Daphne was aware of that. Fred and George got into a fit of laughter at my comment. Daphne rolled her eyes at me shaking her head. Hermione gave me a weird look that I can't place the meaning of. I couldn't understand the reason for any of these reactions. "What?"

"Let's just go find a seat" Daphne said heading towards the Quidditch Pitch. I shrugged guessing no one would tell me what was so funny and followed her out, saying goodbye to the Gryffindors before I went

We found a place on the stands without a problem, not many people were there yet. After a little while others started filling in around us. Among them I saw Pansy but no Draco being dragged alongside her. He didn't seem to be anywhere else as Daphne and I looked around for him. This wasn't like him; he usually loved making fun of Harry during his matches. I wondered where he went but before I wondered too long the match began. The blues and reds of the teams walked into the field. I cheered as Fred and George stepped into view causing Daphne to roll her eyes at me. I smiled at her

Harry's Firebolt was very fast. And trust me when I say fast. It made turns so sudden I was actually impressed. Draco 's face during breakfast made me guess that it was an impressive broom but I hadn't expected this. Maybe that's why he hadn't come; he was upset Harry's broom was better. The Ravenclaw Seeker stayed behind Harry at all times, trailing him. She had a good strategy but seemed like a cheap way to win. If she couldn't win on her own why even play?

A Bludger swung by a Ravenclaw Beater went straight to Harry. He barely escaped it, only inches away. Applause erupted from those cheering for Ravenclaw. George turned the second Bludger back to Beater. It forced the Ravenclaw to roll over in midair. I clapped for George and to my surprise Daphne did too. Though I assumed she was clapping because she found people squirming funny. Maybe we Slytherins are evil… The girl kept trailing Harry and as they got too close he moved to avoid a collision with her

"HARRY, THIS IS NO TIME TO BE A GENTLEMAN! KNOCK HER OFF HER BROOM IF YOU HAVE TO!" Oliver Wood roared from his broom. Obviously when it came to Quidditch chivalry was out the door for him

Harry eventually noticed what she was doing, following him, and decided to use against her. He dived for a fake Snitch and she followed. He pulled out but she stayed downwards. The girl suddenly screamed, pointing. Harry, distracted, looked down at ground. He took out his wand from inside his robes in a second

"Expecto patronum!"

Something silver, bright, and massive flew from his wand. I looked over the railing trying to see what it was that had caused that reaction but couldn't find it. I was too distracted trying to see that I didn't notice Harry caught the Snitch until I heard the explosion of cheers from the Gryffindors nearby. People rushed down to congratulate the team as Slytherins just kept watching. Daphne clapped unenthusiastically and I excused myself before stepping down too. I wanted to congratulate twins. A lot of people were already there cheering. As I walked I saw Professor Lupin pulling Harry out toward edge of field crossing my path.

"You gave Mr. Malfoy quite a fright" I heard the professor say. My head turned to them wondering if I had heard that right. Did he mean Draco? I followed not too close behind wondering if he did. Once at the edge of field Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and Flint, the Slytherin Quidditch captain, were all mixed into long black hooded robes. They didn't…

Professor McGonagall was yelling at them. Calling whatever they had done an unworthy trick. That it was a cowardly attempt to sabotage Gryffindor. Detention and fifty points from Slytherin because of their actions. Professor Dumbledore strolled over probably coming to deal with the boys himself. I stood back not wanting to be seen. I wanted to see what excuse he'd give them before I talked to him. He better not use the same one on me. Ron came over, not seeing me, and roared with laughter. Behind him George pushed his way in, looking humorously at the Slytherins being scolded before turning to Harry

"Come on, Harry! Party! Gryffindor common room, now!" George happily told Harry and started leading him out of the field. Harry left with the rest of the Gryffindor team but George stopped when he spotted me

"Hey" he called walking back to where I was

"Hi" I said curtly, not too pleased with what I had found Draco doing

"What is it?" he asked leaning against the wall next to me

"Well I'm not too happy about that" I said pointing to where Draco was laying with Dumbledore in front of him. He had gotten out of the black robes but was still on the ground

"Want to join our party?" George asked hopeful with a smile on his face. I smiled too. I wasn't sure if he was oblivious to the fact that almost everyone else in his House hated me or if he simply didn't care. Either way, it was sweet

"I doubt anyone would want me there" I told him and he shrugged. Apparently he just didn't care

"I want you there. That's why I asked" he smiled again but I shook my head

"No, thank you though. I have to talk to Draco. Plus I have some homework I need to finish"

"Alright" he sighed and pushed himself off the wall

"I'll see you later, okay?" George nodded and left running after the rest of team before they realized he wasn't there.

I turned back to the Slytherins who had been left alone by the professors. They were all grumbling to themselves not happy that their little plan didn't work. I took one look around making sure everyone else was gone before stepping into view. Draco tried to pretend he didn't see me as I walked up to him, arms crossed against my chest. He started walking away but I reached him in time and pulled the back of his robes

"May I speak with you?" I said in a friendly but threatening tone. I saw Draco take a deep breath before turning to me

"Sure, what about?" he asked innocently, probably hoping I didn't know what just happened

"Detention." I let go of his robes and crossed my arms again. He looked behind him for a second most likely wondering if he could outrun me before sighing and turning back

"Yeah…" he said carefully. His eyes turned to Crabbe and Goyle for a second. The two boys were fidgeting not knowing what to do. I knew they liked me but they cared about Draco more. Normally they would hurt, or at least threaten someone who even came close to upsetting Draco but they wouldn't dare do that to me. Both my family and the Malfoys' would not take that lightly

"I've warned you about this" I continued to scold Draco. "This behavior of yours… If you keep it up I won't let you play in the game against Gryffindor"

"What?" His tone was more of concern than of doubt. He knew that if I wanted him to do something he would eventually do it, or not do it. Marcus noticed too and snapped his head to me outraged

"Look this is none of your business!" Flint shouted annoyed. "You have no right taking my Seeker and –"

"Do not speak to me that way!" I warned him turning to look at him for the first time. He shrunk back a little but tried to hide it by shifting his weight between his legs. He eyed me carefully waiting to see what I was going to do. Those who knew my family personally, which was most of Slytherin, knew the way I had behaved when I was younger. People were nice to me because of my father but also because of what I could ask my father to do. He was a serious and somewhat distant man but he cared for me and did not like it when people disrespected me. Flint knew that

"I –I'm sorry. I just meant –"

"I know exactly what you meant," I interrupted again. He took a deep breath and stayed quiet. I didn't like scaring people like this, I had told myself I would stop, but I didn't have time to deal with his attitude. "I have to speak to Draco, Marcus. Now leave before I do something we'll both regret."

"Fine" he mumbled but rushed away before I did do something. Crabbe and Goyle, after a confirming nod from Draco, followed him to the castle.

"Are you really that mad at me?" Draco asked noting the tone I had spoken to Flint in

"No, I'm just annoyed. I'm not happy though." I had a lot on my mind at the moment and this want helping. First Buckbeak, then my talk with Hermione, and the letter…

"It was just a joke" Draco told me trying to make light of the situation

"That got you detention" I reminded him and he sighed and looked at his feet

"You don't care when those weasels do it" he grumbled. I sighed knowing that he was right. The twins got into trouble often, sometimes hurting people in the process. But that was different…

"Do you really want to go there right now?" He shook his head and looked back up. "I already have enough on my mind so how about we not talk about this. Not now at least"

"Okay" he said but looked at me carefully. It wasn't often that I excused his disobedience and knew that something was seriously bothering me. I ignored it and took him back to the castle. I would tell him but not now. I needed time to work it out in my mind before I got his opinion. But that letter… I sighed again and leaned against Draco as he led the way to the dungeon
